Stayed at this resort for a week in October. Chose this resort out of a few because it got good tripadvisor reviews (and no cockroaches, which I heard were problems in other orlando area resorts). This resort was perfect. It was just my sister and I in a studio room. It was 2.5 times the size of the Disney Value hotel we stayed at for one night we were in orlando. The room is clean and spacious. Had a nice balcony where you could sit at a table with screens to keep out pests and a fan for hot humid days. Didn't have a big kitchen just a microwave and fridge but that worked out since we spent every day in the theme parks. Had enough closet and drawer space for 2 L.A. girls and all our tons of clothes. It was nice to have the living room and dining table to hang at after days of walking through the parks. The only 2 things that bothered me about our awesome room were 1. the bed. I am a heavy sleeper and can sleep most anywhere (even on airplanes somtimes) but somehow the bed was not that great. It wasn't uncomfortable per se but something about it took me hours to fall asleep even after spending 9+ hours walking in the sun at walt disney world. Also, the walls are paper thin. We were in the front of the resort and heard cars coming in and crossing the bridge loudly. Could definitely hear kids running and shouting above and below us late at night or early in the morning. Other than that (which was tolerable) the room was great and a nice place to get away from the disney crowds and relax.

The jacuzzis were nice after walking so much. The pools are cool and have slides, a pirate ship!!!!, and other water splashing things that are VERY fun for kids. So fun that kids were there all the way till pool close at 11pm running around. Did not spend alot of time at the resort besides in the room but we did see lots of activities, like ice cream and karaoke. But I noticed there was not alot to do for young adults like us unless you're with family. Just a few pool tables :/

Did not eat at the pool bar but it was decently priced with lots of drinks! It looked good.

Close proximity to grocery store and OUTLET shopping! These outlets were open late (11pm) and always busy. Not far and very conveniently located from the theme parks (universal and disney) Lots of tasty food around also.

One thing also kinda of strange but a guy got stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes while we were there (right after I used it) :O!

All in all I would probably stay here again.

We secured a week here through a friend's time sharing program. As we initially entered the grounds, we were impressed with the layout, the building exteriors and the nice pirate themed water area for kids to play. In walking around, we found a nice exercise center that was located in the same building as where the registration desk is located. Among the several room configurations available, ours was a one bedroom unit. When we entered the unit, we were greeted by the kitchen, which had the look and feel of those found in apartments. There was a full fridge, stove and dishwasher, along with the plates, silverware, pots and pans etc. needed to serve meals to the family. The kitchen and dining area were separated by a bar and several stools. The rest of the unit was equally spacious. The living room had a couch, two chairs, and cocktail table facing the room's centerpiece, a large hd projection TV. The unit also had a washer dryer. So why only 3 stars? It was based largely on one of the primary reasons a person stays in a hotel, to sleep. The unit's bed was extremely firm to the point is was nearly impossible for me to sleep in it. My wife opted to sleep on the couch sleeper. The mattress was extremely stained and had to have been years old, based on the other wear to it. The only person who seemed to be unfazed by the sleeping situation was my son!

Its proximity to area attractions and overall state of the facility made this a great deal for the price we paid. However, if I were paying rack rates for this facility, I would have been very displeased with our inability to sleep comfortably . In spite of the considerable positives, If we were to return to the area in the future, I'm still frankly unsure if we would stay at this resort again.

Awesome!  Stayed here in early March of 2013 for one night.  The highlight of the resort is the pools for the kids.  My 3 year old son had a blast playing in the pool with the pirate ship and did not want to leave.  This was a fairly cold day in Florida (and I'm from Michigan), so I was VERY impressed with the heated pool temp.  We played putt-putt on their wonderfull course and caught an animal show with spiders, snakes, alligators and other creatures my wife hates, but son loves.   We've stayed at other resorts in Orlando, and so far this is our favorite.  Son also enjoyed the fenced in playset with large slides.  I can't list all the activities available, but you can spend days at this resort without missing the theme parks.  FYI, we enjoy getting takeout from the Bonefish Grill down the road and eating in the room, as restaurants and 3 year olds don't mix very well.  Don't forget the Bam Bam shrimp as an appetizer.  It's quite large and could easily be a main entree to some.

Stayed 4 days with the family and we had a great time. We loved both the pools but especially the pirate plunge with all the spays and sudden waterfall. The drinks r expensive and uneven quality. The food at the grill is seriously lacking but will fill your belly during the Polynesian or magic shows. Movies rent for a slightly steep $3. And you MUST take advantage of the ice cream at 3.

Our family had a wonderful time at this resort.  We checked in to a two bedroom villa and it was perfect for our family of 5.  A king size bed in one room with the best shower and another room with two double beds with its own bathroom.  The furniture was updated, the decor was beautiful, the kitchen had everything you need to prepare a meal, it had a washer and drier and an enclosed balcony.  The two pools were a big hit with my 7 and 5 year olds and my 14 year old cousin.  They had a lot of activities planned for kids of all ages and my wife and I loved the poolside bar.  The location was excellent, right next to Seaworld and 10 mins away from Disney and Universal Studios.  The staff was friendly and very helpful.  I highly recommend this property if you are going to Orlando and have a family.  This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way.  The only problem I had with the property was that the electronic safe was not working, but we didn't bring any valuables except for an ipad and because we loved the top floor lakefront view, we decided to stick with the room.  I did tell the front desk as we were leaving so I am sure they took care of the issue.

We had a nice vacation here with our four children. We'd stay here again.

    Pros:
    1) Very close to Seaworld, our favorite Orlando theme park.
    2) Nice 18 hole putt-putt course. Not cheesy. Free for owners.
    3) Two nice sized pools and a play area with dunking buckets
    4) DVD Player had a USB port that could play Divx
    5) Super commercial quality grills (although one of the burners on the one we happened to pick was broken, no problem though, as it was so big that the 3 working burners more than covered the amount of food we had)
    6) 14 day ticket to Seaworld and Busch Gardens including free parking was $120 each.
    7) Basketball, pool tables, ping pong. Lot's of things to do.

    Cons:
    1) TV's in bedrooms didn't have DVD players.
    2) Bed's weren't very comfortable

We didn't try it out, but they have poolside bars and snacks, with daily drink specials.

We visited during the heat wave of 2011 mid July. We spent alot of our time away from Disney park in the resort pool/water park areas. For the most part the resort was OK, there we no tennis courts which we would have taken advantage of (in the evening) and there is no policy to allow for us to use adjacent Marriott tennis courts. The room was clean and furnishings were well kept. My only complaint is that they don't have anyone watching the pools. In crowded pool, there are people throwing balls around, eating IN the pool. I saw people pouring drinks out in the grass. Just a general lack of respect for others around them and the property.

Most of these time share places are about the same, with some tiny plusses and minuses. This particular spot is about standard. I like that it has a great pool for my brother's kids, pirate ship, pool slides, even a putt putt golf range, that sort of thing, and it is generally comfy. They had karaoke on Friday night, which was fun and family oriented, and offered Starbucks coffee at the snack bar near the putt putt, opening at 7:30 AM. The bedrooms are a tiny bit small, and it doesn't have a store which can be useful, but not a must have. Also, there is not a restaurant on site, although you can order food to-go at the poolside bar, which is open until 11PM (I think).

It's very clean, good maintenance, excellent service. When you make a request, someone calls to make sure your request was carried out! Overall, very good.

What a wonderful week here! Friendly staff, great amenities, fun activities. We only spent one full day taking advantage of what the resort has to offer since we had lots of Disney plans, but we're leaving wanting more. Will definitely put this on the list of "come back and do again"!

Written a while back, so some information may be a bit dated...

After experiencing a family vacation of driving a few hundred miles, there's nothing quite like being able to relax. Even stretching out in a "suite" is nice, but when you stay in a place like this, it's just different.

I don't know how many different room types there are at Marriott's Harbour Lake, but the one that we were in was huge. There was a full-sized kitchen, a living room, and then a couple of rooms.

Rather than the family having to figure out how to fit, everyone could expand to their heart's content. No one had to share a television (well, the wife and I did). There are two pools, a mini-golf course, and multiple places to eat.

To be fair, several of the areas around the property do exist to take your money (mini-golf, restaurants), and they may not be the best of quality. But the location is excellent - you are just minutes from Sea World, with other parks down the road, there are dozens of restaurants a few more minutes not far away. So you don't need a lot right there.

If you'd like to save money, you can cart in your own supplies and cook in the kitchen, and being in a gated community keeps out the riff-raff. Not sure how we made it in, quite frankly...

Great location. Close to Disney. Staff was very helpful. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. Our place was beautiful. A well stocked kitchen, very clean and flat screen TVs  in the living room and each bedroom. Different activities all day long for different ages. Great place for families. The water park and pirate pool were a hit with my family. We will be back.

If you have kids and want a great family vaca, this is the place. We've stayed at the Ritz Grande Lakes and JW Marriott Grande Lakes, both just down the pkwy from this resort, and I will absolutely be returning w my daughter in the near future. It's a kid friendly spot - pools and amenities great for young kids - but that also lends itself to lots of activities and thus the potential for some sun for mom too... Villas are updated and roomy - flat screens in every room, appointed kitchens, comfy beds, screen porch, etc. Easy access to Disney World if desired. Excellent value for a fun family vacation.

This is a wonderful resort, but not very convenient for an older couple. It's very family friendly but there is only one very casual eating place. Unfortunately, my sister-in-law got quite ill and my brother-in-law is blind so they were stranded when we were not able to get there.

The units are very nice and clean and check-in staff very friendly.

We only booked this resort when another Marriott Resort was not available.

This place is amazing for families! We had such a great time. They have two awesome water play areas and a waterside for the kids. We had kids ranging from 3-10 and they all had a great time. The resort also has a miniature golf, basketball courts and a paddle table. The rooms are also nice & spacious.

My family are Marriott time share owners and this is our main resort.  We have been staying here since early 2000's.  This place looks so much better from when we first started coming, the suites are newly renovated and appliances are updated.  The suites are also fully equipped with washer/dryer, dish washer, kitchen utensils, etc.  The resort is also conveniently located near a grocery store and I have learned not to over pack when coming since I am able to do laundry here.  The rooms are equipped with DVD players, the resort offers DVD (reg and Blu Ray) for a small price but we just bring our own DVD's since we bring them to waste time at the airport and plane ride.

They have three types of suites:
    - Two bedroom/two bathroom suites that sleeps eight; master room with king bed, guest room with two double beds, and the pull out sofa for two.
    - One bedroom/one bathroom suite with pull out sofa so a total of four.
    - Open suite with bathroom; this suite has a connectable door with the one bedroom suite for larger families.

All rooms come with a balcony, patio furniture, and kitchen except the open suite it comes with a fridge, sink, dish washer, microwave.

It's not convenient like the Disney resorts where they can take you directly to the parks but it is near Seaworld and an exit away on I-4 to get to the Disney parks.  The pools and the Splash Park are awesome for adults and kids.  My son learned to swim here and it was nice to go down swim go back to the room and chill and go back in the afternoon.  The pools do get a bit warm in the summer time because they are heated.  The resort also has a policy where they make you sign out a towel and sign it back in but to be honest we did that one time and for the whole week we were there either some one was not at the towel stand or didn't do anything...and we weren't charged.

The resort is expansive and no matter where you are located you are near one of the pools.  The front desk also has a service for you to by park tickets there versus going to the park and buying your tickets.  The resort also offers activities for children like ice cream social night, movie night, bingo, etc.  They also have an arcade room, tiki bars, pool and fusball table, mini putt putt golf, basketball/tennis court, and play ground.

Now that my son is getting older to really enjoy this place we cannot wait to go back...but we'll probably not go back to visit in August since it seemed to be the busiest time because all the families were trying to get their last vacation in before school started.

Stayed here for a week, had a great stay! Staff was really nice and friendly. Room was a little older but it was nice and clean.  My son loved the water park!

The only complaint I have is the Pizza Hut they associated with. We ordered a thin crust and got a pan pizza. I told the guy and he said he would be back in 15 minutes. He showed up and my husband answered the door, opened the box and bam the pizza was all over the place, cheese off the pizza and stuck to the box, some of the slices were upside down. We didn't say anything because it was already a little late and then it would have taken even longer and they probably would have given us even worse. My son who loves pizza even said yuck! I'm not basing my experience with the hotel on the pizza but may need to tell their Pizza Hut employees if I pay $17 for a medium pizza and get a pizza like that it's ridiculous.

We had a great time. We stayed for several days with a large group, including kids from 3-10.  They loved the Pirate Pool and splash pad area. There are organized events throughout the day from tie-dye to a magic show and even wine tasting. They have a recreation office that offers board games and sports equipment to keep you entertained. We literally did not leave the resort for the first 2 days we were there. The service and the staff were fantastic. My only complaint was the food. It was blah.  We would definitely return!

What a GREAT hotel/ resort. I found this gem on tripadvisor.com . All the reviews were great, I flipped through photos and liked what I saw so decided to give it a try. I have stayed in a couple of hotels in Orlando Both in and outside of the Disney Resorts' area. Old Key west inside disney area and lake buena vista resorts, outside the disney vicinity. Both were great but Marroitt's Harbour Lakes wins the cake! The hotel is CLEAN, plenty of activities to entertain the whole family, wonderful pools w/ splash pads and pirate chips for the kiddies. We will defiantly be coming back to this hotel. Give it a try, I think you'll love it too!

Excellent customer attention given.  Every single staff member I encountered was happy and helpful.  Even the pool attendants dealing with crazy kids at the slide.  Our villa was huge, clean and I don't think there would be a bad location.  The food in the onsite bar/restaurant was much better than I expected given it's an onsite venue.  Sometimes they just aren't all the great.  We ate there twice in a 3 night stay.  It's close to many restaurants and the outlet mall.  As well as Seaworld.  The pools are heated - major bonus on a cool Feb. day.  Can't wait to go back.  We are not owners, just used points to stay.

Pros: great for families with kids of all ages. Lots of activities for them to do on the property. Looks nice from the outside. Security guard at the front gate which makes you feel more secure at night. Nice pools for everyone of all ages. Comfortable rooms!  Nice full sized kitchens with lots of stuff to cook with. Saved money from going out and eating all the time-good if you plan on having an extended stay here.

Cons: AC stopped working 2 nights into our stay. The dining table and kitchen's granite countertops were dark in color so it was hard to see even during the day but lots of ants in our room and got into all of our foods. Ants got onto our daughter's highchair but luckily we caught it in time to not have any crawl on her.  Beware if you brought boxes to store your stuff (i.e. Some stuff to cook with or foods), they might throw away your boxes without asking you. We left ours on the kitchen countertop with stuff in it and they still threw it away for us.

However if you call front desk and notify them they will be nice and sure to help you. We didn't want them to spray pesticides near our daughter so we told them when we were leaving about the ant problem.

We stayed here as a group of 6 adults and one baby. The villa in was clean and spacious, and the housekeeping was prompt and efficient. The villa was reasonably well appointed, but the furniture and appliances a little shopworn.

It is a little close to I-4, so a little loud from your patio. One couple tried the restaurant and found it to be OK but not great. We are not time sharers but instead our Marriott points, otherwise it was rather expensive.

It was OK since were at WDW most of the time but a little weak on amenities.  If younger a good deal it is fine, if not there is a nice Renaissance just up the street

Stayed here in an upgraded room with adjoining room. Upgraded had a full kitchen, and washer/dryer in the room. Staff was very friendly, rooms were exceptionally clean. Pool area was large and had something for everyone, play areas for smaller children and big kids. The large slides are fun for adults as well! Great poolside bar with some nice happy hour beer of the day prices. And they do not have strict rules about beverages in the pool area which is so nice, you really can relax, even bring your own drinks if you dont want to buy theirs. We played a few games of cornhole that night when the crowds thinned out, closer to pool closing time,a lot of fun! The grounds are well kept and the security guards make you feel safe to walk around even at night. We will definitely be back!!
