I've stayed at the JW Marriot and Dolphin Disneyworld hotels in Orlando and the Ritz is the best. The grounds are huge and interior and exterior are very impressive. Every little detail in this hotel is well taken care of.

This hotel isn't family friendly though, it's catered strongly toward business. I rarely ever saw a guest who wasn't in a suit.

I went to the Ritz Carlton for a work seminar a few months ago and I had a mediocre experience. The staff was extremely friendly when I first walked in however the room was not as nice.  To start off with, the remote control didn't work.  I asked them to fix it, and they did but the next day it didn't work again.   The rugs seemed dirty and I actually found a cockroach in my room.  When I told them about the cockroach they were not as friendly,to say the least .  Overrall the facilities were extremely nice but the room really was no better than your average best western, except much more expensive.

I'm not a Ritz-girl.  Meaning I've never been and probably can't afford to go, so it is never a thought when traveling to go stay at an ultra-luxury hotel like the Ritz.  But when my uncle calls and invites me to go with the family for a little getaway, my response is "I'm packing my bags".  And let me tell you, it takes A LOT for me to concede to leaving my laptop behind and my Blackberry on vibrate. I was going to enoy this getaway!
So, we walk in to the lobby and my 20 month old son said it best - "wow".  Which is REALLY impressive being that this was the first time I ever heard the word "wow" from him.  But certainly I had to agree.  Beautiful.  Pools are gorgeous.  They are soooo kid friendly.  Great kid activities and totally cater to the little ones.  I swore I would bankrupt myself if it meant to stay at the Ritz in the future.  
Ahh... then there is lunch.  Service was not very friendly and slow.  Food was average.  Wait... aren't we still at the Ritz?  Breakfast the next morning was not much better.  
Darn! I was almost sold on never staying at another hotel.  Then again, the look on my son's face and the 1st time "wow" is priceless.  When is my next trip?

This is a nice Ritz, but not psychotic 5 stars nice. It's enormous, the whole property is enormous and the pool is enormous.  The rooms are nice and spacious - ours had a balcony.  Was there in the fall for Epcot Food and Wine festival, and weather was perfect.  Had a nice meal at the steakhouse on-property, and kudos for having Peets coffee kiosk in the lobby.  This place has an amazing gym that it shares with another hotel, but it's to die for if you're a gym junkie (and they have cool UnderArmour Ritz merchandise). Service was good, not great; food was good; pool was good. Everything was good.  Definitely the best place to stay in Central Florida if you're at all interested in being close to Disney but maintaining some semblance of adulthood.

Wow what a great hotel. My company held a conference here and it was great. The food was excellent, the workout facility, which is shared with the JW Marriott is the best I've ever seen in a hotel!

This is the place to stay in Central Florida if you've got the dough!

One star off due to some service minor service issues I had. They just didn't deliver something to my room as expected. I got it in time for my meeting, but it almost made me late. Like I said minor, but keeps them from getting five stars.

Another wonderful part of the Grande Lakes property. We have had our last two company Christmas parties here. The last one being the farewell, out with a bang one! Thank you to all the Ritz staff for your help and for making it a memorable experience. The ballroom, the food, the courtyard, and the guest rooms were fabulous!

I was here the other month for business (which is in line with the comments some have made about this being a business-heavy hotel). The hotel is all what you would expect from a Ritz property...all very nice and everything in it's place. Personally, I prefer a bit more modern luxury hotels, but the Ritz is still always nice.

Too proper (not fun)...but this should be expected at a Ritz

I'll still give the place 4 stars since it accomplishes it's luxury goal well, but I certainly don't think I would stay here if not for business.

This is by far the best resort I have stayed in.  The place is immaculate! The decor is just so lovely,  the great thing is that as fancy as it is, the french country look makes it very inviting and not over stuffy. The staff is just amazing, they greet you everytime you walk by.  When we checked in my children were escorted to a seperate check in table to sign in and were given a choice of toys out of a basket and were offered hot cocoa with marshmallows by a staff memeber wearing white gloves.
What can I say we all loved it. The resort grounds are prestine and the pools is great.  They have family bicycles you can rent to ride around the property.  The JW marriot is right next door so the property ground are extensive.  We only had breakfast at the hotel and it was a great buffet, priced at what you would expect to pay for a luxury resort.  All in all I think its a great value and the best place to stay in orlando if you want to avoid Mickey.

Spent a week in August and had another fantastic time - this place can't be beat.  The best service and staff in Orlando and beyond!  We also checked out a Disney hotel club-floor and it PALED in comparison to theirs.  We couldn't believe the difference in staff, service, amenities, offerings, etc.  Ritz Club Floor remains the best option in this area for an amazing vacation - short or long.

They continue to reinvent themselves so repeat visitors are never bored and always have new things to check out.

Stayed here for Easter with the kids and had a good time. We had a few service issues but nothing major. We spoke to a manager (Chris) and he was very professional & accomodating. They share the property with the JW Marriott so you have double the choices of restaurants & pools. They had tons of great activities for the kids on Easter weekend. The staff was very nice and greeted you throughout the hotel. The food was on the pricey side (of course, it's a Ritz) but everything was good. The hotel is also in a prime location if you plan on going to Sea World or Universal.

I'm giving it 3 stars because there were some service issues. Strawberries & Champagne were delivered at 2 or 3 in the afternoon instead of at turn down on multiple days. We didn't get turn down a few times. The room was also cleaned late. There was one night where they didn't clean our room until 9pm. Also, housekeeping came into the room one night without even knocking. At Easter Brunch, or server disappeared! After looking for him for 20 minutes, another server took over our table. The first guy never came back either!

It's a great property with lots to offer. However, they do have some service issues. Beautiful landscaping. Good location but kind of far from Disney.

I got engaged here, and it was one of the best nights of my life!

I loved my stay at this Ritz.  And the best SPA I have ever been to.  What a great treatment (the hair cut was ok, massage was the best I ever had).  A few weird things happened, like the reservation was under my girlfriend's name, so every time I called or even at the front desk, they called me Mr. "last name of gf".  Which is a little weird.  They should ask who is staying in the room, we are obviously not married (no ring and we still are still happy to be around each other), so why call me by her last name??

Also, our waitress at breakfast was not very good.  And it was a buffet, which makes life so much easier for a waitress, but she seemed to not really care too much.  Again, I wouldn't comment on this if it were a Hilton, or a Courtyard or something, but at the Ritz, you expect their staff to really act like they care.  The waitress did not.

Highly recommended though for a nice night getaway.  We live 30 minutes away, and were there only a night, but it felt like a full vacation.  I can't wait to go back soon.

I was fortunate enough to stay here for a three day business conference.  You get what you pay for here.  The hotel staff are impeccably trained.  Their attention to detail is what really sets them apart.  

The location of the hotel is phenomenal.  We were 12 minutes from I-Drive, Universal Studios and Seaworld.  

The pool is amazing and the lake surrounding the property is very nice.

Parking was a little pricey ($18/night) for a hotel located outside of the city center.

Stated here for a recent conference. The food the entire week was awesome! Even tho we glad the same salad 3days the rest of the meals were just as awesome. The deep fried cheesecake was superb!!  The hotel itself was huge. The rooms were too. Bathrooms were spacious and very comfortable. This property is so beautiful. Stay there if you can.

The hotel and grounds are certainly lovely.  However, I came here for business and returned to my room at 11:00 P.M. this evening (Thursday - work day tomorrow!) to an ear-shattering party in the room next door and in the hallway.  Four calls to the front desk yielded no results although a woman named Anna promised to send security to break up the party.  The loud partying continued past midnight.

Not a good place to do work or get a good night's sleep!

This was my first experience at a Ritz Carlton, and it was a great one.  I went here for a conference last month.  I was extremely pleased.  I would have given it an extra star if it wasn't so expensive.

The rooms are spacious with understated decor.  I enjoy the working area in hotels, and this had a very nice sized work area.  The bed was incredibly comfortable.  I had a regular view, whatever that is (the view was amazing, and I come from Hawaii!  Nothing standard about it).

What was really cool is that although I have a hard to pronounce last name they still tried to pronounce it each time.  Once a nice employee said "would you mind helping me with the pronunciation of your last name", which was cool considering she could just have avoided the whole name thing.

The pool is beautiful and heated.  It's got a very Florida feel.  Saw lots of wildlife around, and they have a butterfly nursery.

The bathroom shampoo, soap, etc. are extravagant which I would purchase from Macy's rather than Walgreens

What I didn't like is that they don't have any self parking, and valet is $15 per day.  Also, there was no free internet, which I don't like about hotels. I think both the parking and internet should be included in the price.  

I wouldn't recommend it for children, especially if you are there for the theme parks.  Although there's a pool, it was empty everyday I was there.  There's a large bar right in the middle of the lobby, not very kid friendly.

I would recommend it if you're there on business or if you want accommodations  for adults close to the theme parks that is above average in luxury.

I've stayed in many convention centers and have been to other resorts, none come close to the Ritz. When I booked the room online I commented it was all for our anniversary and when we checked in we were celebrated by the receptionist and given complimentary parking ($18 a night) and walked into our room to find some awesome treats waiting for us. The staff was ALL welcoming and inviting and regardless of what you were doing, whether it involved spending money or not they all made and effort to please you. Not to mention the delicious restaurants! Overall, it's all worth the money for being completely taken care of.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Orlando, Grande Lakes Ritz.   The rooms are absolutely beautiful, the beds superb. We received professional, friendly, first class service from every staff member.  In addition, the Grill restaurant and the lobby bar were excellent.  Kevin our bartender was awesome, making us one of their delicious seasonal cocktails and our waiters downstairs at dinner were top notch!  This includes the service for breakfast also. We could not have had better and/or more sincere service with such attention to detail. Unfortunately  we did not get a chance to use the pool, spa or exercise room however they were very inviting.  The hotel itself is stunning and the grounds fabulous for golf or relaxing walks by the lake.  We will definitely stay there again.

I've been to a lot of spas in a lot of places and this one is still my favorite.  They really know how to do things right.  There are locker rooms and the locker is your's for the day after your service as they have showers, a large spa pool outside with soothing music playing, a steam room, a balcony where you can sit in silence if you want.   After your spa service, there is a co-ed tranquility room where you can meet up with the rest of your party.  Plenty of seating, lemon water, coffee, snacks, etc.  These things are also provided in each of the mens and womens locker rooms.  I could spend the entire day here every Saturday.  I have always enjoyed their massages and facials   Everyone is very friendly and helpful.  I highly recommend booking a service while you are in the area.  The Ritz will validate your car if you just want to use the spa - you don't need to be staying here.  They have shampoo/conditioners/gels, hair dryers, spray, etc so you can get ready for your next adventure before you leave.  

If you can splurge, do stay as the hotel is very luxurious and the beds are heavenly.

Ritzy Glitzy!

Now I know why we studied the Ritz as a bench mark in all my businesses classes. They are like the Disney of hotels. Every staff member is friendly & has the best memory. I'll pretend I didn't hear the pool boy walk passed me & saying in a low voice to me "nice legs". The training to create such robotic perfect employees must be intense. The place is beautiful. Pool is great & much calmer with less kids than the Marriott next door, which you can venture to. We got a snow cone from there & went back to our pool since it was more peaceful. Highly recommend just coming here to relax poolside w/some mimosas, enjoy the spa, then having a great dinner here.

For the money you dish here don't leave the property & enjoy every second of its bliss!

I attended a conference at the Ritz/JW Marriott last week.  The staff was super friendly and very attentive to all of our needs.  They had turn down service each nice and brought me little chocolates on my pillow - i personally thought that turn down service happened a little too early - while I was getting ready for dinner and the maid was in my way.  I didn't have any spa treatments but I did use their gym - i was impressed with the size and was happy that I had everything I needed there.  Plus I loved the water infused with strawberries and mint!!

My two complaints - the shower is awesome unless you actually want to take a warm shower and you want to be able to rinse shampoo out of your hair.  I was barely able to take a 10 min shower before the water became luke warm.  The shower head was pretty ineffective in getting my hair wet.  My second complaint is about lack of free wi-fi.  I realize most hotels charge if you use the internet from your room, but most allow free wi-fi in the lobby.  I feel like this is a major oversight on their part.

Was there for my brothers wedding.  The staff was amazing.  Super accommodating.  My daughter was the only kid at the wedding.  They made her several special plates of food.  Cheese and Animal crackers for her appetizer while adults had lobster bisque.  Grilled cheese, fries and fruit for dinner.  Apples and peanut butter b/c she was hungry shortly after dinner.  Then they packed her food to go and added some gourmet PB&J chocolates and strawberries for her.  The staff entertained her while the adults ate.  My daughter had the best time and therefore so did I.  Very nice facility and food was delic.

Just about as spectacular as you would expect the Ritz Carlton to be. Rooms were charming in the "inn" sort of way and you didn't feel like you were staying in a massive hotel.

The only thing I didn't like was that the gym was shared with the JW Marriott so the facilities were pretty far from the hotel rooms themselves. Also, it was very easy to get lost in the hotel.

You walk in and get slapped in the face with the delicious smell of fresh cut flowers - wow!

I was only here a short while, but from the moment I stepped out of the car to the time I drove away, it was a wonderful, comfortable, very warm experience.

The staff is very professional and kind. They are sincerely nice and I LOVE nice people!! Customer service is very important to me and all it really takes is a good sense of humor and a smile and you'll have me from hello. The staff here was so much more than that - very helpful and very pleasant.

We receied an upgrade to one of the suites. Our room was very comfortable, great big fluffy king bed with an assortment of pillows to fit diversified needs - which I really appreciated. Ordered room service at 11pm - had some pasta and chicken, something so simple, yet was very tasty - they brought it up right after we ordered, very impressive to a hungry girl :) Room service is available 24 hours at this facility.

I slept like a baby, which never happens when I'm at a hotel. Super clean and classy - very quiet too, which is a must!! ANYTIME I need hotel accomodations in Orlando I will always and only stay at this Ritz from now on.

My wife and 7-year old stayed 3 nights recently on the 2nd half of an Orlando vacation. The focus of this stay was Disney and I think we would have been better off at the Marriott closer to the park. The grounds are beautiful but a little too formal, it is a great place for a wedding but not that kid-friendly. The most curious aspects were the inconsistency in food and service. One time they mailed my letter without needing a stamp, the next time they made me buy one at the gift shop. The key lime pie was disappointing, which also surprised us since it is supposed to be their signature dish (it also cost $16 delivered to our room). The hotel was very fancy (my daughter calls is sparkly) and the staff were quite nice.

If you got the money spend it.

My only complaint is bartender give me your attention but I can't blame him he was on the end of the bar where all the sauced up ladies were. Everything else and I mean everything else is top notched and everything I or you expect from The Ritz-Carlton. Definitely will make this place a return spot anytime I'm in Orlando.

Stayed  in a suite at the Ritz Orlando for the Festival of Speed weekend on Nov 30th. Overall the property is great but the food and beverage during the stay was just average. Valet Service on checkout was extremely slow (20 min), had to ask three times for my car, recommend the hotel but not during this weekend, due to the large influx of cars and inability for staff to keep up.

The facility and rooms are impeccable. Everything is clean and in working order.

When is a Ritz-Carlton not a Ritz-Carlton?  When it's in Central Florida.  I don't expect the Ritz to rise to the level of the Four Seasons, but I've been in many and it is a damn fine hotel.  As one reviewer said, this isn't a "real" Ritz.

The grounds are beautiful, but the staff  -- which should be trained, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient -- were none of these things. If I wanted service like that, I could get it a lot cheaper at another hotel.

The bell service brought my car around and I asked directions to my destination.  Instead of telling me "I"m sorry, I don't know" (a perfectly appropriate response), he said, "Make your first left, then a right."  Turns out I went exactly the wrong way, but I didn't find this out for about 40 minutes. Frustrating, but we all make mistakes.  I shook it off.

I finally made it to my destination and back to the hotel, and sat in the beautiful bar area to have a bit of food.   I had to move my seat to get the attention of the wait staff.

These were untrained people who were more suited to bussing tables than being servers -- they just could not be bothered.  This is something I have never seen at a Ritz ever.  Even when the staff is young.  

The older woman who took my order acted as if I was an imposition, breathing out with noisy breaths, when I asked her for a food menu (she went so far as to say, "I'll get your a menu, but can you at least order your drink now?").

I ordered a caesar salad and some edamame, not a difficult order, nothing special on the side.  (actually, I asked her what kind of bitters she had when she took my drink order, but the "deer in the headlights" look told me to stick with water).

The edamame arrived.  The top few were crusted with course sea salt; everything else was bland.  In short, they didn't toss them in the salt or cook them in salted water, so you either got a mouthful or nothing

Finally, the Caesar arrived without dressing and without cheese; bowl of lettuce with some store bought tasteless white bread croutons.  STORE BOUGHT!  Really, Ritz?  REALLY?  Frankly, Fridays does a better job.

I ask if I can get the salad dressed and with some cheese, and the runner says, "I'll just bring you two sides of dressing and of cheese."  I say, "No, I would like the kitchen to bring me a Caesar properly prepared, please"  (the sign says "Ritz" not "Denny's").  

Nearly 20 minutes later, the runner arrives with a salad that is loaded with dry, tasteless, pre-shredded cheese (no flavor) of the absolute lowest quality, and some dressing that is not even touching most of the leaves.  He does not offer pepper.  I taste one leaf and it's clear there is no anchovy or vinegar or garlic or lemon.  What I have is a mayonnaise dressing with cheese.  I ask  about the anchovy and she tells me that's extra.   I told her it really wasn't a Caesar salad without garlic, lemon, anchovy, and I don't want it, thank you, and GET THIS, she says under her breath, "well, THAT's what you ordered." (insert hair on fire).

Slipping slightly on this visit, the impeccable Ritz Carlton spa needs to go back and review their chapter on customer service.

Twice while I was at the spa this week, women were wandering around the spa wondering where the check in staff was. Hard to believe that they were short staffed as staffers are usually falling all over you at this place. But not this week.

I also didn't like the "nickel and dimeing" that is going on here now. Want to use the spa pool? It's a $25 charge now unless you have a spa service. We used to love to sit out there as it was more of an "adult pool" than the lazy river one at the Marriott next door.

Another slip? I called to move my hair appointment back an hour. The man who answered my call said it was no problem as they were "wide open all afternoon", to quote him. But then he said in the same sentence that there would be a $25 change fee associated with a change. I wasn't canceling. I was only moving my appointment. Forget it.

What sets a Ritz apart is it's attention to the customer; the little details. On this visit, those details were noticeably absent.

This is probably the best hotel in Orlando.  I really dislike Orlando generally, but the Ritz-Carlton makes necessary trips here alright.  We spent two nights at the RC in November, and this was my second time at the hotel.  This time, however, they were overbooked, so I was upgraded to a suite.  If I had to find something to complain about regarding the room, it's that it might have been a little too big for one person.  Geebus, 1.5 bathrooms, TWO HUGE balconies, drastically oversized main bathroom.  I wish we had to stay in Orlando a little while longer!

This isn't necessarily the best Ritz-Carlton I've been to.  There are some negatives to the hotel, the first of which is that it's huge.  It was quite a trek getting to the room, and an even longer trek to get to the rooms of the people I was with.  This isn't really a cause for complaint; and hey, it's Orlando, everything is huge.  I've been to the new Peabody, and to get through the entire complex requires marathon race stamina, so the Ritz-Carlton is tiny in comparison to some of the other behemoth hotels in this strange massive strip mall alternate reality that is Orlando (my apologies to all you native Orlando-ites).

The steak and seafood restaurant (I forget the name) was quite good, but the acoustics are terrible!  It was seriously so loud at dinner time that I almost couldn't stand it.  We didn't eat at the downstairs restaurant save for breakfast, which was perfectly acceptable.  Although one of the servers did say something, seemingly in jest, to me that was quite insulting.  I'm sure she meant it as a joke, but the two other people I was with immediately exchanged looks of utter shock and disbelief with me.  There were also a few families with rather boisterous and misbehaved children while we were there, but that's not really the hotel's fault.  Although, maybe if there are three kids at one table, all flinging food on the floor, maybe the staff should say something to the parents?!

The golf course is pretty good, but I'm not fond of obligatory caddies.

An excellent facility with golf course and convenient location.  It's not as luxurious as I expected -- the last Ritz I stayed at was in Osaka, but the rooms were clean and nicely appointed.  We saw an unidentifiable beetle on the bed and they were prompt to move us to a new location.  Their loss prevention associate was extremely courteous and called me twice to assure me the bug wasn't a bed bug, after testing.

Let me just say I am a big fan of the Ritz-Carlton brand and this property not only didn't disappoint, it was absolutely fantastic!! The staff is amazing with kids, the grounds are stunning, and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable! I will definitely stay there again!

This is a beautiful hotel everywhere you turn. The entry is opulent and the staff friendly and helpful. I don't believe I passed one employee during my 3 day stay who did not greet me with a smile and a warm hello. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. I loved the large bathroom with double vanity and separate shower and tub. There is plenty of space to stow cosmetics and toiletries as well. Coffee was delivered within 15 minutes of our order every day and came with fresh pastries. The Ritz is attached to an equally lovely JW Marriott a short stroll away so there is a varied selection of restaurants and indoor and outdoor bar areas. The food and drinks were all delicious and as expected...expensive. The fitness center is clean and well equipped and the pool area had plenty of comfortable seating with food and drinks available at the outdoor patio area or right to your lounge chair. There were very few children during our stay and I'm not sure if that is typical but we enjoyed the quiet poolside atmosphere. If I had to reach to find a complaint ( and I guess I do) the music at the pool was just awful. It plays quietly in the background so we simply played our own selections a bit louder. We stayed on the 12th floor and enjoyed a view of the golf course and pool. It appeared that all rooms had a balcony.  It was a bit of a ride to the downtown area (20 minutes or so)  but overall a beautiful place and a great experience.

Staying here makes the Orlando experience so much better.   For some reason, the Orlando airport is always nervewracking and arriving at this hotel erases the memory right away.  Stayed here for 6 days last year, it's a beautiful property, immaculate grounds, many options to entertain yourself or just chill out.  Had several poolside meetings and lunches, drinks by the fire at night, and all were good experiences.  Also had client meetings and the conference services people were top notch, so was the catering -- which makes this resort head and shoulders above many others who provide similar service levels.  It's enormous, so a good option for a group, you avoid the claustrophobic feeling, although you need about 15 minutes to get from your room to Starbucks in the morning.   I would go back in an instant if I were staying in this part of Florida.  They refer to themselves as "ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen" and that couldn't be more accurate.  Impeccable service.  And it's also nice that most of the other guests are looking for tasteful serenity as well.

Ahhhhh...my first experience staying at the Ritz.  I came here for a dental conference and I have to say, the rooms were impeccable.  The beds are very comfy, separate bath and shower and dual sinks.  The room is very spacious and the room service is awesome.  Of course staying at the Ritz do expect to pay a lot especially room service.  There is a $4 delivery charge, 22% gratitudity, and Florida state tax already added to your bill.  They have two great restaurants inside Normans and Vineyard Grill.  Both were excellent but again a bit pricy.  The hotel is somewhat secluded so you will need to travel a couple miles out to grab dinner or shopping.  They have a full golf course with a restaurant for a leisurely afternoon.  Overall, I had a great experience staying here but I would rent a car if you really want to explore Orlando as cab fares can add up very quickly.

Frankly, the Ritz was only slightly nicer than the JW Marriott next door.  For someplace with a dress code I would have expected better.  I'm a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of guy so dress codes and parking attendants referring to me as "Mr." and "Sir" make the unwashed heathen in me just a bit uncomfortable.

I did not give it 4 stars just because it seemed a bit "worn".   Carpet that is not in the best of shape, bathroom floors that are not really clean.  But, I'm also holding the Ritz Carlton to a different standard than I would a Hilton.  Plus, my bed was just a bit to squishy soft.  I woke up each morning with a backache.

The staff was very professional and seemed sincerely nice, not just "faked because I have to" nice.

This resort complex is primarily a golf resort and is a good distance from anything else. Plan to have a car if you want to do anything else.  Parking charges were about what you would expect from comparable hotels, around $10 per night.

The restaurants on site are all nice, but a bit pricey.  The pool and spa are very nice, though I liked the pool at the JW Marriott next door a bit better.

It is a huge hotel. You may be there for an event or conference. I have been multiple times. Impeccable. Very comfortable rooms. Spotlessly clean. As with any Ritz, it is service, service, service. Great restaurants. Grounds are beautiful. I am not sure there is a point to much more comment!

A wonderful experience the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids and on the wedding night with my husband. I really wanted rose petals and something special for our wedding night in the room, but when looking at "packages", it was a few hundred dollars to add the "romance package" to our reservation. I mentioned in the comments section of our reservation that it was our wedding night, and when we arrived in the room, we had rose petals on the bed and chocolate strawberries and [yet another] bottle of champagne. Such a wonderful touch to the most amazing day of our lives.

This is one heck of a nice property. The rooms are outstanding and the service is at its peak Ritz quality. Everyone is always ready to help a guest.

As for the golf, they really cater to folks who know how to golf. Hint: That's not me.

I hit the little white ball thingy over a water hazard. That's victory as far as I'm concerned.

Seriously, our caddy was quite patient and was well tipped for chasing golf balls all over the greater Orlando area. Thanks man. I'll improve!

This review is for the SPA at The Ritz-Carlton.

Overall, hotel is lovely (didn't stay in a room) with guest areas and lobby stately and well-staffed.

A bit of a walk to the Spa building, but that meant it would be tranquil as needed. Check-in at reception was quick and cordial, and I was then whisked via elevator to the locker room area. Attendants here were very gracious, well-mannered and kind explaining all features for the ladies spa area. Changed into a super comfy robe and slippers and waited in the quiet lounge with a cup of tea a few moments before my massage therapist took me up to the treatment room.

Enjoyed a 50-minute signature massage and it was lovely. Very relaxing! You're given a choice of three essential oils (rosemary, lavender or orange). All smell wonderful! Therapist had a perfect touch / right amount of pressure.  My only little complaint is that her hands were so cold! And the massage oil was a bit chilly too. Secondly, there was a CD playing in the room, and it looped 3x with the same songs. It was nice, classic music, but by the third time, I was bored of it. Please buy a 60-minute CD!!!

The Spa has a wonderfully spacious, clothing-optional jacuzzi, steam and sauna in the Ladies section and the area is well stocked with fluffy towels, cool washcloths, water and the like. Sunlight pours into the area and it's a nice, quiet place to relax.

Donned a bathing suit and swam a few laps at the adult only Spa pool - so quiet here! Pool temp on the chilly side but that was actually quite nice after all the heated jacuzzi dips and trips to the steam and sauna. Have to say: I was a bit dismayed when I noticed the pool itself was in need of a good cleaning. LOTS of bugs in it, leaves from nearby trees and shrubs. Also, there is a wrought iron gate type thing next to the hot tub and it was rusted, worn and bits of rusty paint peeling off and falling on the ground.  Some general housekeeping and this part of the hotel would be pristine.

Enjoyed a glass of wine and fruit and cheese plate by the pool in the sun before retiring to the Spa for a quick shower and change, then back out to the "real world".  Definitely recommend for a full or half-day experience. I came here to relax after running a marathon the day prior and it was everything I wanted: soothing and restorative.

This is a wonderful hotel property, whether you are traveling to visit Orlando or a Central FL resident. I've attended several functions here for business and pleasure, the events always go off without a hitch. Details are tended to with a smile and always an offer to do more. Grace.

The spa is fantastic! If you have some time, arrive early to enjoy the amenities (Sauna, pool, locker room, tranquility room) free of charge for the day. Latest visit had my sister and I enjoying the Organic pedicures, where a glass of wine was enjoyed while Elisse and Linda buffed and massaged our feet, so relaxing! Toes were polished perfectly and we were off to enjoy afternoon Tea in the lounge.

The Ritz afternoon tea is one of my favorite teas, anywhere. It is served from 2-4 on Saturday and Sundays, it's always wise to make reservations as this is a popular activity between hotel guests, local bridal showers, baby showers and birthdays. Guests come dressed casually (resort casual) or don their festive hats and dresses, it's your call. The selection of premium teas is spectacular, the Orchid Oolong is worth the trip alone. The assortment of savory and sweet goodies is fresh and tasty, quite filling if you go for the full tea or Royal Tea. And, why not? The Royal Tea starts off with a glass of Champagne and sliced strawberries that have been dressed with Grand Marnier and topped with fresh whipped cream. Very decadent, but surrounded by the opulence of the lounge overlooking the beautiful grounds and pool, time slows and it seems appropriate to become a lady of leisure for a few hours.

The staff is very attentive and friendly, from the Valet to the upper management. Speaking of Valet- the Spa, lounge (tea) and restaurants will validate your parking. Our last visit I was turned over my car and keys by a friendly valet who used my full name and also brought us bottled water for our trip home. What a nice escape!

Overall a great experience. This was my very first stay at a Ritz-Carlton and definitely will not be my last.
The service here is legendary. I was greeted at my cab by a bellman. Champagne poured for me at check in. Forgot toothpaste and the concierge sent some up.
The beautiful balconies overlooking the lake are amazingly spacious.
You get the feel that you are staying at a manor, not just a hotel.

My only complaints are to do with the lobby bar. The musicians were too loud to have any conversation and the waitress service was slow. When I went to buy drinks at the bar, the bartender was outright rude, snatching my credit card and not even saying thank you.

That can be overlooked and I would definitely stay here again.

This property is connected to another Marriott property, the JW. When you stay here, you get the amenities of both resorts. The JW has a lazy river, which is great for kids while the pool at the Ritz generally has an older crowd. Our room was decorated with bright Florida colors. There's a certain touch of class in the lobby here that is sometime missing from other resorts.

The Sunday brunch here is out-of-this-world fantastic. I highly recommend it.

I will start wtih my review of the actual accommodations. Accommodations are up to typical Ritz standards, cleanliness was excellent. Bathroom was spacious with plenty of linens and toiletry items. The balcony had a lovely view. It was evening when we checked in so we did not get to enjoy the pool, but I'm sure it's lovely if it is anything like the JW's next door.

Dinner at the sister property's fine dining restaurant, Primo, was excellent. We plan to return this weekend, but we won't stay at the Ritz again, here's why:

I was looking to book one night on the same day, due to needing to head down to Orlando unexpectedly. I attempted to book the American Express Card package from the website but was having trouble doing so. I called the Marriott Platinum line, and the agent gave me another number to call. I called that number and it was actually the American Express Platinum Concierge, which was fine, since I was booking an Amex rate anyhow. The AMEX concierge kept me on the line while she booked the reservation, which is RIGHT NOW as we speak on this webpage on the Ritz Orlando's website: ritzcarlton.com/en/Prope… . She confirmed the one night stay, and then emailed me the confirmation. I'm glad the call was recorded so when I complain to AMEX Platinum about the Ritz denial of their confirmed package, there will be a record of it.

I check in, the same night after driving to Orlando, and confirm with the person at the Ritz check in counter the package I booked. I also confirm that I am able to use the $100 resort credit at any on property restaurant and the person who is checking me in says this is not a problem. I take my husband out to eat at Primo on property, we get a good night's sleep and get ready for our stressful day ahead.

I get my bill under the door, and there is no resort credit, despite my having confirmed it when booking, and at check in. I think, no problem, I will go down before we check out and and straighten it out. I present the bill and am met with a stonewall and total amnesia. I tell the staff member that I have the confirmation email from the AMEX Platinum concierge and that I confirmed with the staff who checked me in last night that there was $100 resort credit and breakfast, and she just stared at me. Then she went in a back door and returned with another woman, who never even looked at me. I was given dirty looks and the original staff member finally credited the $100, I asked her (nicely although I was severely strained) about the breakfast and she literally did not answer me, she just stared at me. My husband witnessed both check in and this incident and was annoyed but wanted to just leave and take it up with AMEX later.

So far, in 2012 I have stayed 67 actual nights in Marriott properties, including Ritz, JW, Marriott, Courtyard and Springhill, and I have NEVER encountered a problem with my bill, EVER. Way to go Ritz Orlando, you have earned the distinguished honor of being the first. The worst part isn't at all the mistake, that can happen anywhere, it's the way the staff handled it, and the way they treated me. Shame on you.

I was very disappointed in this Ritz location for a variety of reasons. I stay at a lot of high end hotels, and this hotel fell well below my expectations. The amount of money that you pay should justify the service and product that you get; and I'm sorry to say, this Ritz was not worth the money.
The swimming pool was out of service, and instead of offering some type of reimbursement (points, meal, coffee...anything!), they advised you to walk down the street to the Marriott next door...really?? Also, they DO NOT honor Platinum Elite members...(no concierge lounge, no breakfast, no upgrades, no perks). Furnishings and room appointments are old. Standard rooms are small and my T.V. Reception was poor. At $350 per night, certainly not with the money. Marriott Courtyard or Hilton Garden Inn is even better at half the price!

Completely dissatisfied and I feel robbed of my money. I went to the spa and needless to say, I've definitely had better. I went for a couples escape and it believe me, it  was far from escape. The deep tissue massage was mediocre, the lounge area was nothing to rave about and even down to their robes just seemed unkept and cheap. We also got the couples bath and what a waste of 145 dollars thank goodness I had a 250 dollar gift card from a previous employer. I would sooner recommend a local massage parlor than this place.

I agree that the Ritz-Carlton is like "the Disney of hotels." Upon arrival the valet and bellman are already there to open your car door and two gentleman welcoming you into the hotel opening both double doors. The service here is amazing because anything that you need they make sure to take care of you. When I wanted to make an appointment at the spa and kept reaching the spa after hours I called the concierge and they made the appointment for me. When we ordered room service they made sure to ask how many would be dining and brought everything we needed. When we were feeling like playing a board game in the room we called the concierge and next thing we knew someone was at our door with Clue and Monopoly.

They really spoil you here and make sure that they do whatever possible to make your vacay that much more enjoyable. The resort itself is really beautiful, clean and luxurious. It neighbors the JW Marriot which I believe you have access to as well and have a great view of the golf course. The pool is really big and relaxing because there aren't 100 screaming children doing cannonballs into the pool (though they do have a Kid's program which I thought was nice for those traveling with families, they have alot of fun activities like gingerbread housemaking for the holidays).

The Spa at the Ritz was amazing, the bf & I had a couple's massage with hot stones and peppermint oil. Even Vitale, the spa cafe was amazing. The food was delicious and the presentation was really nice. The ammenities at the spa are awesome too, heated private pool and OMG THE RAIN SHOWER...it was the most amazing shower I have ever taken in my life. The service at the spa was great too and everyone is very helpful and they make sure to take care of you.

Shout out to one of the bellman, Sam, he was so great because he helped us get a town car to head to Universal Studios since we missed the shuttle and he even went as far to get us some cold water bottles and even put them in a cooler for us to take to the park. Also on one of the days it was raining I didn't realize we had an umbrella in our hotel room but one of the bellman ran to get one for me to borrow from the hotel.

I would definitely come back here, it was hard to leave this hotel and go back home!

This hotel is beyond fantastic. We were there for four nights and everyday we did something different. Our room overlooked the pool and lake.. very pretty and unobstructed view. The staff is fantastic and they go above and beyond. It was a massive hotel and we were looking for the shop inside the hotel. We were asked by a very friendly man if we needed any help. When we told him what we were looking for, he walked us there instead of just pointing to telling us where to go. Our favorite place to lounge was the bleu bar. It was a very laid back atmosphere and the bartender was awesome. We will definitely go again!

No. I'm not a baller. I was here for a conference last week and had a great experience here.

The Room:
Mine was on the first floor, next to the hotel lounge, elevators and a conference room. Given the amount of noise I expected, I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet my room was. Honestly, I didn't hear a peep! The bed isn't the most comfortable one on the planet, but it was clean and fresh, which is always appreciated. The bathroom was gorgeous! 2 sinks, a separate shower and a jacuzzi tub?! Niiiiice.

The Food:
I was craving (CRAVING!) a grilled cheese sandwich and the lobby bar certainly went above and beyond! A triple decker sandwich with tomatoes and onions appeared before me (see pic), served along side thick cut potato wedges sprinkled with sea salt and chives. AWE-SOME. Best. Late Night Food. Ever.

The Spa:
I had some time to kill before my conference started so I opted for a pedicure at the shared JW Marriott/Ritz spa. So pricey, but worth it! They spent over an hour pampering my feet, and then I ate in the spa cafe. Their fresh spring rolls (again, pricey) are pretty tasty. The dipping sauce was a little different than the standard sweet/sour ones I usually have, and this change was appreciated.

The Conference:
The tables and chairs are EXTREMELY uncomfortable. By the end of the day, my back and legs were sore. The conference food on the other hand, was pretty good. Day one there were sliders, hot dogs, fresh popped popcorn and soft pretzels. Day 2: a do-it-yourself granola/trail mix bar. They get an A+ for food - everything tasted fresh and delicious.

While I wouldn't pay the $300/night price tag for a future stay, I enthusiastically recommend this place for those who can.

My stay at the Ritz Carlton Orlando was simply exceptional.

The service, by comparison, is unmatched. From the front desk to the maid service everything was on point from the time we arrived til the time we checked out.

The room was small but certainly big enough. It was clean, elegantly decorated and modern. I loved the bathroom (complete with marble and granite) and the beautiful view overlooking the pool and golf course the best.

Service done right and provided with a smile must be the Ritz's signature because everywhere we went that's what happened. Honestly, it was refreshing but kinda sad to know that you have to be willing to pay top dollar to receive that kind of service nowadays.  I guess that's why they say you get what you pay for.

My only complaints are about the room service and the distance between the lobby and the self park lot. It's almost as if the Ritz is playing on it's elite status by making the people who would prefer to park their own cars walk to the lobby like servants  going to the maids quarters. I get that it's supposed to be preferable to valet but since when is it punishable by a virtual (seeming) walk of shame??

One night I ordered a pizza from room service that was just awful. It wasn't like I was expecting gourmet pizza or anything either. The pizza they sent up was worse than microwave and oven pizza combined. There isn't anything I cold even compare to it...  it was that bad. When I complained to the staffer who came to retrieve the dishes about it he seemed shocked. He stated that the pizza was something new that they'd recently perfected from a prior recipe. Um, okay....  I guess. Seriously, the Ritz would be better off getting a contract with Pizza Hut because what they sent up to my room was  an insult to me as a paying guest. If given the choice I wouldn't even have passed that pizza onto a homeless person.

Overall though I'd truly enjoyed my stay at the resort and I'd return in a heartbeat.

It's a good thing Sister Holland wasn't on this trip with me.  Not because he would be pissed to have missed such a grand hotel experience but because of the little things that weren't just right that he would have gone ballistic over.    

Meh is the term my Felpers with some modicum of taste used to describe the Ritz.  And when you're talking about a hotel where the rates start above $350 for a basic room your expectation from such a resort should be that everything, and I mean everything is perfect.  There are plenty of things that are right about this hotel including the first class service, the general décor, and the commanding drive up to the resort entrance.   The place is appointed like an Italian palazzo; the furniture is beautiful and comfortable and everything comes with old world charm.    But what I noticed after I looked hard enough is that the Ritz is more like a Disney attraction than it is an old world resort.  You're in central Florida after all not the Riviera and if you're expecting such then I suggest you take your hard-earned money and spend it on a flight to Italy.  

But if you're going to throw good money into such a holiday in Orlando of all places the only way to stay at a place such as the Ritz is to go all out.  Consider that you're paying top dollar for a clean bed and a hot shower with the added treatment of a five-star golf course and spa attached for an extra fee.

The thing that was oh so right and reflective of the treatment you get when you actually stay in a resort on the Italian Riviera, which I have, is the service.  Out of sheer luck of the fact that a few hundred of my colleagues were staying dorm-style, two to a room, and had filled most of the rooms designed for the hoi polloi, I was placed by a very beautiful front desk clerk on the executive floor across from the Presidential Suite.  Here at the top of it all you're treated like a king, as one should expect.  Unfortunately for the attendant, Trinidad, who was turning down my bed for the night after being informed of my impending arrival, I appeared before she was done with her appointed tasks.  So I chatted with her making a friend for the length of my stay who assured I had extra bottled water and a full tub of ice next to the bar along with my neatly turned bed and Ritz chocolates on my pillow every night.

We had buffet style food for our meetings so I cannot comment on the restaurants but the separate reviews for these show $$$$ which means they're most likely overpriced for the quality of the food they serve.  The banquet food was good but not jaw dropping.  Again, this is the Ritz, right?

Let's get to the point of this review.   When you run a hotel where the price of a basic room could get four people into the Magic Kingdom for a day everything should be perfect.   When you're on the executive level of such a hotel everything and then some should exceed all of your expectations.  So then why is it that as an early riser I was waiting ten minutes for the shower to get hot?  Seriously, I learned the best method for a morning ritual was to get up, start the shower and then go back and organize my wardrobe for the day.   There I was the morning of my big presentation waiting for the shower to get hot and on the verge of tears.  Sister Holland would have had a raging fit calling the front desk to order pots of boiling water brought up.  Sadly, this has nothing to do with the staff and everything do to with the design of the hotel-more Disneyesque than first-class.

Lastly, there's the brand image.  One forgets living in America that the Ritz is a different beast in its native land.  A colleague from Europe mentioned in passing that the place had no life.  I said it was a classic American stuffy hotel.  His reply was,  "Then it's not the Ritz."

This weekend was our third time staying at the Ritz. We attend a conference there every year in early spring.

The rooms are nicely furnished and the beds are very comfortable. We have always had a good view of the golf course and/or the pool.

Check-in has been prompt for us and the staff is very friendly. We were traveling with our four-month-old son and they sent up a crib with a bag of baby goodies, including baby shampoo, lotion and even outlet covers if you have a crawler!

We have used the spa before and I remember enjoying the experience but didn't use it this year.

My major complaint with this hotel (and this is big to me) is the service in the bar/lounge area and the restaurants is HORRIBLE.  They are amazingly slow - that is if you can even get anyone to take your order! This is especially a problem in the bar. I've been both during the day and the evening and it seems to always be a problem. I had tea in the lounge area mid-afternoon. After they brought me the tea I asked for some sweetener. Big mistake. My drink was cold by the time they actually brought it to me and I had to ask twice. This may not be a big deal to some but we like to go and relax in the lounge after a long day of meetings but I'd rather avoid the terrible service at this point.

#Yelp100  Meh.  I've experienced better sums it up.  To be fair, I did contact management and they did resolve the problem (refund of my points used), but just so the review is clear.

Checked in late (after 11PM) and as soon as I mentioned I was using points, the front desk girl seemed to look down on me.  Hey, I can afford to stay here, I have 183 nights so far in Marriott hotels and have earned this free stay, but the damage was done.

Average room, no upgrade as I requested a feather-free room, what BS, really?  Get housekeeping to change the pillows in another room and reward your Platinum members.

I am treated better and the $100/night hotels than here as those places seem to CARE about their customers and treat them all well and ensure the repeat business clients get the best service.  Not the Ritz-Carlton, guess they want to milk the people that spend $750/night for one week once a year and be happy.

Won't see me at this place again, not for business, travel or recommendations.

Shame on you Ritz-Carlton, shame.

I had a facial with Deborah and she was amazing! Such a nice lady. I'll definitely be back to see her. I hear that the spa will also soon undergo a renovation and it will be even better. I gave them 4 stars because of Deborah. They would've received one star as I had a less than optimal experience with the team at check in. There was a problem with my reservation and rather than resolve it quickly they went back and forth with the manager to approve a cancellation that should have been made by them in advance though they wanted me to pay full price for a service they didn't cancel! They ended up resolving it though it did take away from the spa like relaxing experience. Not the Ritz Carlton experience I expect though Deborah turned it around.

It's the Ritz-Carlton. You have to stretch to find something bad with this place. I travel a lot for work and I always like returning to this property (or the JW Marriott, which is connected).

When I travel, I like to use the time I would have spent commuting to/from work and work out. They've got an excellent work out facility where you can borrow comfy headphones (in case you forgot yours) and watch TV or listen to the radio as you work out. They also have a private lap pool next to the work out facility, away from where the main resort pools are. I forgot my swimsuit, but I'll remember to bring it next time!!

The property also has a great running trail along the (man-made?) lake. If you get tired, take a rest in the various hammocks and swing benches they have across the property.

Love the Rtiz!!   Everyone I encountered was so nice and helpful.  The property is kept up very well and I just love the pool! We were there for a private event in Norman's - very good food, wine and they had live music on the terrace.  One day maybe I can afford to stay there.

Amazing hotel. Very clean and great friendly staff. Marble and granite everywhere. Nicer than other Ritz Carlton hotels I've stayed at. Relaxing lazy river at the JW Marriott on the other side of the property (8 minute walk from on site pool). Pool is very nice and hot tub is a great side. The breakfast buffet was the nicest and best I've ever had. Parking is valet or self park at a high price. Valet has text message calling and status. Free ride to Disney Transportation Center. Was a hassle to get to Epcot so we paid for a cab back to hotel. We will absolutely be back and we loved it.

I had an issue with the waitress at the bar, but the hotel resolved that issue quick and made it right.  

I ordered room service, it was good.  

The room has no full body mirror, which I think it's a little weird and little inconvenience.  

Other than that, the service was great.

I had very high expectations of the Ritz.  I thought I would be blown away by butlers waiting on my hand and foot, an extremely large room with amazing views, and other, over the top amenities.  The view from the outside deck was very nice.  It showcased parts of the golf course, and the fountains surrounded by lots of trees.  However, the room itself was not as stunning as I imagined.  Yes, the bathroom was nice, but I just expected the overall room to be bigger.  Surprisingly, this is not the nicest hotel I have stayed at.  

The Ritz is connected to the J. W. Marriott, which makes how to get here slightly confusing.  Luckily, we figured it out and parked in the self parking lot.   Once you exit the parking lot, you make your way past the valet parking, and into a side entrance of the hotel and conference center.  It is probably a few minutes walk to the reception.  I do not like that the parking lot is so far from the actual hotel rooms.  First world problems right?  

Anyways, parking is about $10-20 a day.  The internet rate is based on a 24 hour period, and if you buy more days, they give you a cheaper rate.  

All in all, this is a really nice hotel, but one can easily get lost.  So fancy!

Had the pleasure to eat lunch today at the pool bar restaurant. The service was phenomenal and I can say this was a fantastic lunch overall!  The grilled chicken sandwich comes with your choice of fries or sweet potato fries (which were awesome!) and the sandwich itself has two breasts which are covered in a delicious jalapeño spread. Also, they will validate parking so stop in and give the pool bar restaurant a try!

Bonus is that you get access to the JW's lazy river (great for the kids). Nice little run/walk path by the lake. No negatives in our experience. Great stay and will go back.

Went here to use the Spa.

This place is amazing!  The perfect venue for a spa afternoon.  As usual, the Ritz itself is gorgeous. The spa facilities are fantastic.  We began the afternoon with lunch at the spa's own cafe, Vitale. They have both indoor and outdoor seating near the picturesque pool, and they take reservations, which was fantastic because I was with a group and we showed up and were seated immediately.

The spa cafe was really relaxing-- many other patrons were getting treatments so they were wearing spa robes so it was very low-key, and the menu was great--- delicious Nicois salad and bento boxes.  The burger looked incredible, and the drinks were yummy, too, from the Green Power Juice to the PB Power drinks to the Mango Iced Tea.

We lounged around the facilities for a bit, from the eucalyptus steam shower to the dry sauna and hot tub.  The posh locker rooms are expansive, and there were two large waiting areas with magazines and recliners.  

The massage was one of the best I have ever had in my life.  I love deep tissue massage, and when I first saw my massage therapist, Jamie, she was petite so I wondered if I would get an intense massage.  However, it was AMAZING..... deep tissue, incredibly relaxing, got out all the kinks in my muscles from spin class/ballet barre/kickboxing.   Jamie was perfect, chatting a bit when I first walked in to talk about sore areas, but she didn't talk during the massage, which I appreciated so I could really relax.   I opted for the add-on hot stone treatment, and the heat from the stones was soooo relaxing to my stressed out shoulders and back.

After the massage, we lounged by the pool (for spa patrons only so extremely quiet, peaceful, and private).  Incredible afternoon and I would absolutely come again for a relaxing spa afternoon.  Small price to pay for a guaranteed amazing massage and access to the pool and spa facilities.

Updated March 2015--- Got a facial here recently.  Maybe it was a one-off, but I think they are better at massage here.  Facial was super relaxing, but I thought the extraction could have been more thorough.  Overall a good facial but not the best I've had.

I don't know, but if you have a little faith, you'll believe!
Yes, I've stayed here before (half-dozen times in the past couple years), and have enjoyed dinner / drinks in the Lobby Lounge quite often, even when not staying at the hotel (dozens of times in the past couple years, as I'm local here in Central Florida), and I'm not sure how they do it, but they seem to get better, everytime!

I'm a big fan of live music, and always enjoy the Ritz Lobby Lounge for some music (on thr/fri/sat), and a lite bite / drink.

I'm not usually a big party-goer, but this New Year's I had friends that encouraged me to go out and have fun, so...the Lobby Lounge at Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes, there I went!

The music/band and all the revelers were infectious...and EVERYONE had a great time!

The band was rock solid, and played a god mix.....although was a bit too loud for some of the guests in the relatively small lobby.  But you know what they say, "if the music is too loud, you're too old!"
(it seemed there were a few "electric amp failures" that caused them to play recorded music for the last set, and that ended up being a bit too much "dance" / "club" music for a rock 'n roller like me.....but "stuff happens"...hopefully next year, they'll have a couple back-ups ready!!!)

Everyone was singing along with the band, and at times so many were up dancing that they were literally "dancing in the aisles"!

Jamie Lee, Rosie, Lindsay, and Halie worked hard and served everyone with aplomb, style, and lots of fun / smiles!!  They kept the drinks topped-up, and at the same time made sure everyone was having fun...

Jonathan and Anglo delivered the food quickly and professionally, and also got on the dance floor and showed some moves....with Doug and Robert mixing drinks at the bar almost non-stop, all night.

The fireworks at midnight were wonderful....a large, professional display over the lake/patio, lasting ~ 15 minutes, was more than most will ever get anywhere (save for 4th of July in Boston, NYC, etc.)....and then back inside for more live music, dancing, and revelry!!

Allie, the Lounge supervisor, put together a great evening....1000 times better than the typical "dinner and drinks, and a toast at midnight" that you'd get at every other hotel/resort around!
The décor, centerpieces, music, food/drinks, etc. were all super!  (especially the band!!!)
Many kudos to Allie (and hotel's general manager, Jon McGavin, for getting her the budget to do it), for a job very well done!!  

There is something special about this place, that I find almost unique nowadays, especially in crowded Central Florida....the Ritz-Carlton Grand Lakes is a place that never ever seems crowded, and every member of the staff is always treating you like you are their most important guest, with honest sincerity and "down-to-earth" friendliness, and none of the forced smiles and fake pleasantries that are all too common these days, especially in central Florida!
These folks are great and are not the typical staff of a large resort.
Everyone there provides warm, kind, and excellent service, without any pretentious at all.   But rather, in that old-fashioned familiar and comfortable way....sort-of like you get when visiting your favorite aunt's house, or a small Mom and Pop resort.
I truly feel that these folks love their job and have pride in the brand they represent.
(I just hope they're getting paid as much as they deserve!)

The valets out front, the concierge, and the front desk staff were all just as friendly and efficient as ever, even with a fully-booked hotel, a holiday week (Christmas / New Years), and all the New Year's revelers, they managed to do their part to help spread the fun throughout.

So, if you're looking for a quiet, friendly place for drinks and/or a lite bite...stop on by anytime...
And, for some live music along with that, try Thr/Fri/Sat evenings...
And, for New Years Eve....well, that happens only once a year, but make your plans now for next year, as it will be "Grande"!
And if you want a great hotel/resort to stay at and enjoy, anytime of the year, you're in luck, 'cause surprise, surprise, there just happens to be the great Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes hotel right there attached to the lobby!!! :) :)

You get what you pay for. I just returned from a business trip at this location. The service was beyond my expectations. Each and every person I encountered was more than willing to go over and beyond to make me feel special. Honestly, at times I thought I was the only person there and that I was royalty. The a Ritz-Carlton Grande Lanes has a customer for life. I may have to go during the off season to be able to stay there (at which times the rooms are very reasonable), but I will be going back for a nice escape at least twice a year. Great for a long weekend because you never have to leave the property.

More than satisfied with my experience at this location. I will be planning more meetings and conferences there. I never thought I would go away for business and come back more relaxed that I did on a normal vacation!

Thank you for everything!!!! You made this gal extremely comfortable and special.

You get what you pay for....  Now, this trip was all about my 3 year daughter, I wanted a place where she could go and enjoy plus I felt comfortable about her being safe.  

Overall:  The hotel was wonderful, professional, clean, and accommodating.

Review:  The hotel was well designed, they offered everything you needed to make sure your stay was the best.  We felt like royalty.  They offered a lot of different things for the kids, plus they had pools, and outdoor mini parks for the kids.  

I am the type of person who wants to stay at a place that keeps order, not too many kids, not too many adults walking around.  The place smelled great, no bed bugs, it was truly a vacation place I will return soon.  

Advice:  Make sure you save money to spend, also make sure you ask to have a room near the wi-fi.  If you going to pay for it you want to get the best signal.  We moved our room because the signal was so bad.  

Food & Service:  The food was great , very expensive but great. Room service food for kids was not good so don't waste that money.  

Rooms:  The space is great for a family of four and below.

Suggestion:  Get the wi-fi situation fix or offer it for free.

It's always a pleasure to come back to Grande Lakes. We have been here many times stayed at JW Marriot and Ritz, the impeccable service and attention to details is what set Ritz apart from the rest.

Don't forget to called down to the front desk and ask to have the pool chairs set up for you if you are going to use the pool! They always do an excellent job exceeding our expectations.

update. I got the swedish massage which is 145 for 50 min. also they charge extra 20% based on the original fee as spa service, which turn out to be $174 finally. Still i believe it is way too expensive.

Sauna and steam room is nice, no complain. Service is good also.

Overall it is a great spa for rich ppl.

The happiest place on earth!  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando.  Everyone here tried their best to make things as nice as possible.   The fireworks on September 1st were spectacular from our balcony.

They make a lemon tart served at the club lounge that  is out of this world.  The club lounge's dessert presentation is a must try.

Also, this hotel is very kid friendly.  At the front desk, you can get free ice cream made by the chefs here for kids.   We had a tent set up in our room where my daughter slept.   Apparently, kids go crazy for this tent that comes with a souvenir alligator, lantern and book.  They even put chocolates in the tent for the evening turn down service.

 I wish I could stay at a Ritz Carlton everyday for the rest of my life!

When I spa I am expecting am amazing experience all around. I have visited many places for relaxation from local salon/spas, canal street sheeted public massage, to 5star destination resorts
Each location I have been to has many individual charms that cannot be compared because they are apples and oranges but when my eyes are closed vs eyes opened there are a few consistent criteria that have to be met. Cleanliness, kindness, competent and knowledgeable, efficiant with the time spent, priced appropriate for the service and location.

As you can imagine the Ritz meets all of these criteria and more. Amenities are abundant from eucalyptus and cucumber compresses prior to  your steam , sauna, or private adult pools. Fruited waters, portered teas about &  healthy snacks and fruit options readily available. Private lockers, water slippers, cozy substantial robes,  toiletries and customized body polishes( invigorating grapefruit sea salt the day I visited) all make for a relaxing experience even before you receive service!
I have enjoyed everyone who has cared for me however I am now hooked on 1 female massage therapist that is amazing! I'm not even sure what happens to me during our session but I am left revived, relaxed and yes even feeling taller :]
Pool side dining Is also available from vite" frozen summer coolers are the best.
I do know that the spa will be undergoing a revival of its own over the summer months. I cant wait to see how they improve this  already amazing facility.
When you weigh service amenities and surroundings the Ritz is more than priced right. Don't just look at the price tag look at the entire experience  and ITS SO WORTH YOUR PRECIOUOS TIME AND MONEY

Stayed here for a convention. Hotel and property are beautiful, not too impressed by the pool or the food. The rooms were very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom had both showers and a bath tub with Bulgari bath products (lovely smell). Customer service was hit or miss. I would experience one person who offered amazing service and then two or three rude employees at a time (not what you expect from the Ritz, which is known for exceptional customer service training).

I do recommend the hotel, just don't expect super amazing customer service and you'll be alright.

As you can see from my past check-ins and as an elite member, I've been to many Ritz/JW establishments around the world, and all been 5 stars rating, but I'm heart broken that I'm forced to give this Ritz of Orlando a negative review.  This Ritz didn't have the competency to do a small intimate wedding of less than 30 people!!!!

Buyers be aware when choosing this venue to hold your special event it's not like the other Ritz.  Don't be fooled like me bc what was promised will be different then what was presented.  Make sure read all the fine prints and ask lots of questions.  Once you've signed your life away, you'll only be thrown on the hands of randomness, and all customer service goes out the window.  The following happened to me and may happen to you too so choose wisely.  

1.)  Rude wedding planner that introduced herself as "Hi I'm H. owner of Weddings Unique.  I only take GUARANTEED bank check or I can email you wiring instructions!  No I don't need to do a walk thru with you and your fam, bc I've been here for more then 10 years and I've been in the gazebo a millions of times!"  And when asked why the additional charges when it stated on my package its included...."what are you doing for me to charge the astronomical amount.? I've done a lot of the leg works already such as contacting the vendors, negotiating the prices etc.  I told her I just finished helping my gf planned her wedding @Ritz in Laguna Nigel, Ca few months back, I know what Ritz requires of each vendors.  Can you hang some lanterns for me?"  Her respond was "No, we don't do that!"  
Then when I asked her to itemize her bill at my fiancé's request to justify her astronomical amount, she couldn't.... Instead... she dropped her price by 40%!!! Awkward... That's the ONLY planner Ritz provides for the intimate package. Wth?!?!

2.)  On the day of my wedding, we peaked @recepetion room and we all noticed stains & ​​holes on every table.  A guy rudely came from the back room​ ​brought out rolling cart and said "look it's new clean from the laundry with the covers." Someone also made additional comment, that "once we dimmed the lights you cant see it."  It was early in the morning where they could have thrown it back into laundry before my dinner reception instead they choose to argue that it's already cleaned!  Wth?!?!?!

3.)  As I was getting dressed in my suite, an associate of Wedding's Unique, came to my room to review the minute order asked me about my photographer.  Then my blood pressure rising bc I had to argue with her, and Rit'z planner how I signed up for a package that included a photographer bc they both were unaware.  Wasn't till my fiancé who has a law degree and always read and re-read all docs prior to signing, pointed out in writing on Ritz letterhead. She then apologize said "I've never seen this doc, but we'll get somebody in the next hour!"  What???? Get a prof photogs in hour prior to me walking down the aisle??? Let's see how amazing his work will be!!!

4.)  My 80y/o grandmother waited under hot sun without direction when we were told the guest will be directed as written on the minute order.  

5.)  Special ordered butterflies were dead people sat on bc no one directed what to do with the envelopes even though it was written on the minute order.

6.)  My flower girl, and others walked aimlessly bc no one directed her where to go even though written on minute order.  

7.)  Reception tables were half empty bc wedding planner wanted to throw my band/vendor back room going against my written request to keep vendors/friends in the main room.  I ended up double charged guest meals and vendor meals.  Wth?!?!

8.)  My wedding planner was absent bc Ritz decided to relieve of her duties bc of my previous complaints without asking my permission to do so, or find a replacement.  

9.)  My personal items that were used were carelessly thrown few rooms away from the reception room and not locked up in the cage as promised.  Items were broken and missing. :-(

10.)  The photographer that they've hired in the last hour prior to me walking down the isle, took the worst picture.  NOT a single picture taken were aligned, and worst, u cant see the groom/bride's face during the fireworks that cost us $7,000 for a 2 minute show!!! Wth?!?!?!?! I think I've gotten better picture from an iPhone.  Look below for yourself....So... Frustrating!!! :-(

​Although we cannot change what had already transpired, I​​  hope by me sharing my experience with the Ritz would help you do a double take on this place.  I really wish I would have taken my $50,000+ to feed an entertain my small intimate wedding less then 30 people elsewhere!!!  Sad to say, Orlando Ritz NOT qualify to handle it!
We're VERY disappointed! :-(

Yes, I've made several attempts to resolve my issues, by addressing the issues right away, documenting it and the director's respond was to offered us free couple massage for the added stress.

I have become spoiled with the service and charm of the Ritz. From check in to check out folks are treated very well. The Orlando property is beautiful and quiet: away from the theme park mania. We had a great stay with our son who enjoyed two days of Ritz Kid activities! He fished, made crafts, and got to hang with other kids his age.

We asked ahead for an indoor camping experience. We arrived to a real tent, pillows, book, stuffed alligator, and a lantern waiting for us. We also had a S'mores making kit!

The Ritz and JW Marriott share property and amenities. We enjoyed dining there as well as their lazy river.

I cannot wait to come back!

Best hotel in Orlando hands down. Exceptional staff, views, food, spa and pools. My husband I love coming here on mini stay-cations! Love that you can go over to the large Marriott pool if want, but really why would you leave the luxury of the Ritz pool? I've yet to dine at Norman's but I'm sure it's fabulous. You must try Highball & Harvest, their newest restaurant. It's fantastic!

This hotel has the best service I've ever experienced- from servers to concierge to pool to the teachers at the kid's club.

The pool is great, the food is wonderful. So many great things.

The team in the lounge went out of their way to host a special afternoon tea for my daughter's birthday on a Tuesday (they usually do that only on weekends) while we were there.

In addition, all the people we met who were also staying there were super nice and convivial. This hotel has a great vibe and ease to it.

I hope to be back soon!

Room: Clean but dated. Furniture and mattress is showing age. Carpet is relatively old. Bathroom is nice, granite all over, shower and bath tub. Large bathroom.
Lobby: Gorgeous, nice scent, ritzy.
Staff: Attentive, great service, everyone is trying their best.
Banquet Hall: Nice and spacious. Great for large events
Food: Good for a hotel of this caliber.

There is no shortage of Marriott properties to choose from in Orlando. I usually skip the Ritz and favor the Marriott or JW Marriott properties when working, as they are a little more business focused

On this occasion a lower than normal room rate at the Ritz appeared and I went for it. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was and how convenient it was for a meeting at the convention center.

The hotel interior is beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. I really liked the food at Norman's, the hotel's fine dining restaurant.

The 24 hr room service and comfortable working desk with lots of power outlets, kept my working side happy. This is a much better work option than I had realized.

I'll be back.

Wonderful weekend with children. Activities planned out for non stop kid fun. The JW Marriott and Ritz work together to deliver a great stay in a beautiful setting. Why leave the resort?

Book your next Orlando stay at this hotel!! It's worth the cost! The amenities are amazing and you are treated like royalty. The food and restaurants all over the resort are delicious and include scratch made and very healthy options. The pool and lazy river are beautifully done! We will definitely use this hotel again if we return to Orlando!

The perfect escape! I will come here for a day trip every time I come to Orlando. Even if you don't want to spend the night, you can use all the amenities for $50 a person and make it the ideal day get away. It's never over crowded, the service is exceptional, and poolside food delicious. This place is great for something romantic and girls trips. One of my favorite places :)

Checked in last night.  We chose this hotel because they "zero entry pool" and it would be kid friendly.  Not so far. I Alerted management of the issues, let see if they recover. We check out Friday morning I will update this post.  We found cigarette butts in areas of the kiddy pool. To be continued...

...Okay, I have to say that they did not build a new pool for us, but they did everything they could for the remainder of our stay to ensure that we were happy.  There was a few conferences in the hotel that week so they did not have too much to work with, but on the last night they put us in a great suite.

Also, the restaurants were great.  From the breakfast we ate every morning to the dinner in the evening.  Service was great all the staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

I must upgrade my rating from one to 4 stars.  I cannot give five because of the size of the room.  Small but nice, I would have expected additional space for the rate (650/night, plus a resort fee of $30/night).  

In sum, I would return but I would not return unless I could get a suite.

I stayed here for one night this past weekend with my girlfriend as we were attending the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. I was able to snag a great deal for this property at the last minute. This property is about 5 miles east of the Disney theme parks, which is perfect if you don't want to be inside the hubbub of the Disney resorts. It is also adjacent to the JW Marriott Hotel.

As you drive around the Grande Lakes complex, you are greeted by peaceful serenity and immacualte landcaping. As you approach the hotel you are greeted by double fountains announcing your arrival at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes.

Ritz-Carlton properties are known for their customer service and they did not disappoint here. As soon as I pulled up a valet opened my door and greeted us very warmly. The receptionist at the front desk took my name and all my information and provided my girlfriend and myself complimentary water bottles and were directed to our room in the South Tower facing the golf course and pool area.

Upon entering our room, I noticed how spacious it was. It had its own balcony and one of the biggest bathrooms I have ever seen for a non-suite room. It's a shame I had a brain freeze and forgot to take photos of it *SMACKING HEAD*. The view from the balcony was very peaceful and the fact that the weather was picture perfect made it all better. From our room I could see the former Peabody (now Hyatt Regency) Hotel as well as the Sea World observation tower.

Now from my past stays at Ritz Carlton's, I have felt their pillows and beds are probably the best along with the Westin Heavenly beds and this time was no different. The pillows and beds were soft and comfortable and we both had a restful night sleep after a long day at the festival eating, drinking and walking.

The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because I was only there for 1 night; next time I plan on doing a weekend trip to Orlando, I will review more in-depth the facilities it contains. But if this one night is an example of what to expect from th rest of the hotel, then I'm sold.

I've been fortunate to stay in many Ritz-Carlton properties, thanks to the company for which I work. We've been at this one a handful of times. What distinguishes this (and other) Ritz properties against the competition? That's simple. Service.

Our meetings are large. By large, I mean hundreds, sometimes thousands, of attendees. They can be overwhelming for me, to say the least. I've run the gamut from attendee to presenter. Regardless of my role at the meeting, I am always thankful when at a Ritz property because I know that any issue I face will be resolved. Having a problem with technology? Just blink and you'll have experts by your side to fix the issue. Wardrobe malfunction ten minutes before going on stage? You only have to wait a beat before one of their Ladies or Gentlemen has a solution at the ready. Feeling like you're just having an off day? Each Ritz employee will greet you with a smile and kind words - just to make your day better.  If you run into one of these Ladies or Gentlemen again, they'll greet you by name (even without a name tag on). That, I must say, is definitely an elevated level of service!

Needless to say, I was happy this year's kick-off meeting was at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Lakes for all of these reasons. Then I had a very welcome surprise. The breakfast area downstairs had been renovated into a new bar/dining area. And it is GORGEOUS! Gone were the days of waiting 3 deep at the lobby bar for a tasty beverage to decompress after a long day of meetings. Now I can sit in a cozy leather chair around a table with several colleagues and laugh our cares away. Or talk business. Or just not talk. They've created an environment that has something to offer everyone.

The pool area. One of my favorites. A great place to kick up your feet and let the stress of the day just wither away. Not only is it visually stunning, but incredibly comfortable as well. If you happen to get a room on a higher floor that overlooks the pool, you can see the fireworks from Disney in the evening as well. If you get tired of sunning yourself on one of the very comfortable pool chairs at the Ritz, head over to the JW and take a spin on the lazy river.

Need to be a bit more active during your stay? They have a wide variety of fitness options available from the zip line course to bocce ball and tennis. My personal favorite is the life size chess board, though I'm more of a watcher than participant in this activity. Of course, there is a fitness room with any equipment you may need.  Regardless of your chosen activity, be sure to wrap up your workout with a spa appointment. No aching muscles here!

The rooms are comfortable and come with all the basic flair of the Ritz - turndown service, whatever type of pillows you prefer, etc. Room service is fast and friendly; the food a higher quality than at other competitors properties in my humble opinion.

Last, but not least, this property has some outstanding restaurant options. The aforementioned downstairs dining option, Highball & Harvest, is just stunning. Looking for something a little more formal? Make a reservation at Norman's or head over to the JW side and grab a table at Primo. Want to have a bite while still enjoying that beautiful pool area I mentioned? Pony up to the bar at Bleu, poolside and just as delicious as the rest.

I could go on and on about all that this property has to offer, but I suggest you pack a bag and experience it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Defiantly a fan.

The resort itself is very clean and has the feel of going "all out".  the base of this review is going to be about the food.  

The food was surprising well done.  The wedge salad and dressing was fresh, chilled and crisp; The Italian sandwich was neatly put together, the asparagus were cooked perfect and the peanut butter cookies were perfect.  The list goes on and on but over all, the food was worth the stay.

The service here is just absolutely outstanding and sets this hotel apart from so many others, including other 5 star hotels I've been (though admittedly, I rarely spend on hotels).

The room was always serviced right on time - I never had an issue with housekeeping and loved that they would tidy the room when I was out and give me turn down service every night. From check-in to check-out, every single staff member was very courteous and eager to make my experience good.

I was here for a conference, and there were a few going on at the same time; but everything was always ready and it was a great space.

The room rate, though not the conference rate, was great - there was a buy 3 get 4 special, which was perfect for me since I wanted to add an extra day to enjoy Orlando.  It was the same as the conference rate but included a lot of perks - like valet parking and breakfast for two (a $62 value).  Though $300+ a night is pricey, it was great value for the outstanding service and comfort at this five star hotel.

The only thing I would lament is that the food could be better.  I'll review the main hotel restaurant separately, but generally the quality of food is not really 5 star and could do with some work.
