Booked this through hotels.com and paid way too much. Room was not clean, large clump of pet hair on the chair, mirror wiped with some kind of dirty towel, floor under sink had hair and dirt on it, shower walls had shampoo on them from the last people to stay in the room. Small apartment-sized fridge with sink, microwave and some utensils, etc. We didn't rent it for the kitchen aspect and didn't use any of it. Wore my shoes the entire time I was in the room due to a large dark stain on the carpet. This looks like a refurbished Motel 6. There were no wash cloths in our unit and had to go to the front desk, wait in line, then speak with the extremely rude front desk lady (the same one who acted like we were inconveniencing her when we needed to check-in). We will never stay here again!

Stayed in hotel during the summer on vacation. Was not a good experience for my family. Rooms had smells of smoke and beds were clearly unchanged. Didn't like the elevator so I took the stairs. Also you had to bring towels to front desk in order to get clean towels and room service didn't come every day. My Aunt even found feces in her bed. Still smh at that one. The pictures on the website are very misleading.

I stayed here with Hotwire.com . The front desk was fine but the halls smelled of smoke. The room smelled of bleach and I figured out late that night that it was being used as a whorehouse. I should have guessed asit was just outside of the naval base.

I hate staying in motor lodges because I can't stop thinking of all that probably went on in the room before me (deaths, porn shoots, discharge of bodily fluids, etc.).  This place didn't change my perception.

The first room I received smelled like smoke (even though it was supposed to be non), and when I pulled back the covers there was a long, black hair and black marks on the sheets. I asked for a new room because of the smell. That room had marks on the blankets and some of the towels. Scrapes and dings were visible on surfaces throughout the room. The bathroom was noticeably small, and the door nearly hit the toilet when opened. The breakfast options were extremely limited, but at least they had something.

Positives: it was quiet at night, the wi-fi worked, and the front desk staff was nice.

My average rating accounts for the fact that I paid $40 a night after my discount. Any more money, and it would've been lower.

The Good

**Got an AWESOME deal for Hangout Fest Weekend considering all the other hotels in the Gulf Shores Area were marked up by 75 to 200% due to the festival. We caught a special on Hotwire and basically got 75% of their regular rate.

**The hotel seems to be newly renovated. Nice lobby (Not "The W" nice but 2 Star Hotel Nice). The room was clean and spacious and was above and beyond my expectations for the price.

The Bad

**The front desk seems to go down hill as far as customer service after a certain time. During the morning and afternoon the customer care was readily available to accept phone calls, answer questions about the reservation etc etc. However, I called in the evening to add an extra bed and the call was disconnected. When I called back several times after they didn't answer. I called the 1800 number and they could not do anything to the reservation because it was through hot wire.

**SMOKE: I had been suffering from severe allergy symptoms prior to the trip. I requested a non-smoking room. I did receive a non-smoking room HOWEVER, their non-smoking rooms are sandwiched in-between smoking rooms. When I went into the bathroom smoke from the room next door had saturated the air which only further irritated my sinuses. It was miserable. I requested a room change and was told that wasn't possible due to the hotel being completely booked. The smell was so bad I almost requested that I be moved to a different Extended Stay. I am assuming the people next door checked out because when I returned the next evening it had dissipated.

If it were not for the smoke issue this would have been a four star and a half star experience. I would def. stay again, however, my room would have to be in an area with other non-smoking rooms not mixed in with smoking.

This place was exactly what I was looking for- a cheap stay in Pensacola in a convenient location.  The room was just fine (no smell as mentioned in other reviews), but the elevator was broken (seems typical of this chain), and there was basically a light sheet on the bed for a blanket.  Other pros: the internet was free and worked reasonably well, there was a fridge, the room was clean and check in went smoothly.  It was great for a one night stay, but definitely not for an extended stay or someone who wants to hang at the hotel.  I'm rating 3 starts as A-OK, because it was 100% OK, but not a star more.  I'd stay again if I needed a bed in a pinch. :)

I was given an amazing Priceline deal on this place and am very pleasantly surprised.  It looks newly renovated, the front desk staff was friendly and had my room keys ready for me when I walked up, along with a small printed sheet with information such as direct phone code for room and Wifi password.  The rooms are stocked as an economy apartment with basic kitchen supplies, a nearly full-sized refrigerator, stovetop and microwave.  I had a smoking room but could barely detect a smell.  I would recommend this location to friends and family.

The greatest thing about this hotel was the service the assistant manager gave. Our original flight was delayed and he let us take off one night from our stay without removing the weekly rate or additional discount code we had used. He was super friendly and helped us with other tips on the area once we arrived.

Hotel was inexpensive and the kitchenette helped us save money during our trip. That said the inexpensiveness came out with some of the guests not being very respectful of others, including setting off the fire alarm.

Stayed here for a week while I was looking for a place to live. Front desk personnel were very friendly. Even the maintenance personnel that I would run into were very friendly. Room was very large. Bathroom very large. Non smoking room smelled of smoke the entire stay. Area around the hotel was not that great but it was to be expected. Last day as I was packing up a huge roach ran around the room. Overall was a decent enough room for the price and length of stay but I would probably not stay there again.

Check-In.....Everything looked fine. The lobby was modern and clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Richard was great as he was very responsive and helped us out immediately when he heard about our issues.

Rooms.....Booked 2 non-smoking rooms. They accidentally gave us 1 non-smoking and 1 smoking room. So we had to change one of the rooms once we realized we had a smoking room. We went out and returned to the hotel a few hours later and we encountered a bed bug on one of the beds. Needless to say it was a headache and a big concern. They moved us to a different room and the new room was thoroughly inspected. My room was fine as my sheets, towels, and bathroom were all clean.

Breakfast......Coffee, granola bars, and fruit were provided. Not much of a breakfast.

Check-Out.....Staff was nice.

This hotel has a nice laundry facility with a few washers and dryers. Free wifi. No business center or gym. Would I stay here again? Probably not because cleanliness is at the top of my list when staying at hotels.

*sigh* if you've looked at my reviews breakdown you will see that I almost never write a negative review. See John L. H. It is possible for me to write a negative review!  I tend not to write negative reviews bc I don't want to adversely effect the livelihood of people. However, in this case I feel like I must warn other people of bed bugs.

One of my best friends booked two rooms for our overnight stay (look at Steve I's review). The first room we had was on the third floor which is the smoking floor. Since I have bad allergies my friend and I went downstairs to switch to a non smoking room. The front desk gentleman, Richard, was very kind and switched us to a non-smoking room on the first floor. He explained that the first and second floors have been renovated and are non smoking and that the third floor is the smoking floor and will be renovated and turned into a non-smoking floor.

Unfortunately things took a turn for the worst with the second room. I was using the restroom when a millipede started crawling on the bathroom counter. Meanwhile my friend was yelling that there were bed bugs in our room. Fortunately she quickly called the front desk and asked them to take a look. Thankfully Richard responded immediately and came to our room and confirmed there were two bed bugs on what would have been my bed. Thank goodness I hadn't put anything on my bed! Which by the way both of my parents have worked in hotels and they said that hotels never wash the top comforter so never put your stuff on top. I put my stuff on top of the chair and table to the side. Richard quickly gave us keys to a third room on the second floor and gave us quarters so we could put all of our clothes in the on site dryer for 45 minutes on high to kill any bed bugs. FYI, my friend had a bed bug outbreak at her work so she was well versed in how to handle such an occasion. Step 1) put all of your clothes in the dryer for at least 45 minutes on high to kill the bed bugs, Step 2) any items that cannot be out on the dryer should be put in a plastic bag and tightly knotted for at least three days to kill bed bugs, Step 3) hire an exterminator if you're concerned about bringing bed bugs home to use a fluorescent light to make sure they don't see bed bugs. Trust me, you don't want to mess around with bed bugs bc they can spread quickly and you'll have to get rid of your mattress etc.! Thankfully Richard also gave us plastic bags when we asked to put the remainder of our possessions in it to kill any bed bugs.

Fortunately the third room on the second floor did not have bed bugs. My friend and I asked our guy friends to help us look for bed bugs now that we were wary from our last experience. They lifted mattresses, checked the corner of box springs, looked under the bed and we were in the clear. However I don't think I slept that night for fear of getting bitten by bed bugs. I even asked my friend who booked the room if we should stay at another hotel.

Breakfast was grab and go with breakfast bars, oatmeal, coffee, etc.

I made a reservation by phone before checking in at this hotel. The lobby, room & bathroom were all clean & front desk staff was friendly & helpful. I recommend ExtendedStay to anyone who's planning to stay in Pensacola. The only difficulty I experienced was in obtaining clean towels, but to be fair, I requested them from the front desk at a time when the housekeeping staff was not present (very early in the morning). My dog was with me & I was a bit nervous about leaving him for awhile, but the hotel is truly pet-friendly & no one minded that he whined for a minute as I reassured him that I would be back, etc. I was happy with the quiet & appreciated the assistance of the front desk staff when I asked about nearby grocery stores.
