I was once a local here (before the town almost tripled in size) and was really excited about coming back for a week of fun in St. Augustine.  But this hotel was adequate at best. While the service was decent and the housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful, there were other things that offset these positives.  The "free" wifi is a joke.  Yes it is free, but it is so slow that you cannot get anything accomplished. The pool is very small and not worth the time.  But mostly, I have to agree with Brandon S.'s review. The sleep number beds are horrible.  I got very little sleep and woke up sore every morning.  I will probably try another hotel next year.

We stayed here 3 nights.  If it wasn't for the fact that we have an 8 month old daughter and packing up and moving would have been a hassle, we would have left after the first night. The room itself was nice though uncomfortably hot. The AC is one of those big ones that is super loud and stays on for a few minutes until it reaches the desired temp.  Just went from hot to loud to hot again.  The housekeeping not so great.  We came back to our room the second day, dirty tub, coffee not replenished.  There was shattered glass out by the stairs from the day we got here until the day we left.  The elevator ride up to the third floor on day one smelled as though someone had just thrown up so we used the stairs ever since.  My husband did use the elevator the day we checked as we had a couple of suitcases and yes, still smelled of throw up.  The $9 breakfast is a joke and they actually forgot our order one morning. The cook was actually digging through tickets on the floor to find ours.  Needless to say we didn't stay that day and didn't go back for breakfast the rest of our stay.  The staff are nice enough and good location- restaurant next door is amazing!  But this is the worst Hilton I have ever stayed at. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member and have stayed at many Hiltons around the world.  This was by far the worst.

A great value. Great rates, right across from the beach, clean rooms, free bottled water, fantastic & fresh all-you-can-eat breakfast for 8.95, courteous staff.

What more could you ask for?

Beds were hard as a rock and no free breakfast! Also one of the beds wasnt made when we got there. Room was filthy and smelled strongly of dog urine. Never visiting again!

Nice rooms. Terrible service overall. Clearly understaffed and under trained folks working here. During breakfast there was a Person that appears to be management helping clean tables, but doing nothing to aid in customer service.  Our stay here was a gift from our dad. He booked in advace and took great lenghts to ensure we would mot he charged for te rooms, yet the hotel screwed this up and had no wayto fix it.  I've stayed at a number of Hilton Garden inns, but this one seems to be the worst run one I've stayed at.  Hopefully someone in Hilton upper management reads these reviews, as this location is in need of as segment change.  There is no appearent team work going in here and little accountability for customer service. (Even though the elevator has a sign guaranteeing  the experience).  Maybe stay here for the rooms, But patronize one of the local joints for you meals. And certainly look for alternatives.

I hate that I have to give this place a two star but ill explain.

Ive stayed here before and loved it. Its relativly inexpensive rooms are big and it has lots of amenaties. Its right accross from the beach (5 minutes walking) right accross from the pier ( 5 minutes walking) and right beside the  South beach grill.  A pool and hot tub, fitness room and computer room.

so with all these awsome things going for it why could i possibly rate it a two???
I had the worst nights sleep when i stayed there the last time because they apparently switched the beds they use. They now have a bootleg version of the sleep number.
After turning the nob all the way down to what should have been a soft matress i still felt like i was laying on the pool patio. It was terrible and i didnt sleep a wink. Myself and my fiance' were both sore the next day and were very tired from a night of inturrupted sleep.

im not saying everybody is ganna have this issue but i did. It kinda makes me angry because I like this place so much but now I cant stay there because these new beds suck somtihng awfull.

So if it werent for the beds it would be a four star for sure but i cant discount the fact that I woke up feeling like I went two rounds with Mike Tyson.

I'm here for a wedding and the bride is about to wring the managers neck.... You would think a with multiple room rentals that they would have a little courtesy and accommodation.... Ahh no!

First, I find the reception room stuffy.  There are about 60 of us stacked in here with a buffet line and dance floor (best description for the blank space in the room).

Second the ventilation sucks. The caterer had Sterno for the buffet and we had to open the doors to the parking lot the vent the room. Sterno is a clean fuel, it's should not stink like that.... God forbid someone farted in there... we'd all be dead!

Bathrooms were equivalent to a truck stop.  I washed the sink before I washed my hands.  It was gross. TP on the floor as if it was Hallows Eve.

We cleaned the reception room up so all the staff had to do was take the trash out and deal with the tables and chairs.  It seemed that wasn't good enough for them. and that this wedding reception was a burden on the staff.

Parking for visitors/reception guest is limited and to the rear of the property due to hotel guest parking..

I am surprised by this place as it is a Hilton and for the area. Though this is a tourist area to a specific clientele... this isn't  Orlando and low/middle class tourist trap. For the aristocrats that come to the area, this place is a dump!

There is now an ATM.  Thought I saw hot tub, but it didn't look operational.

The bride did say she liked the room they had as it was very large and had a full size fridge in it for her and the kids.  And the room the bridal party used seemed spacious BUT, I was surprised by a full bed and a twin...

Customer service is clearly not the manager's strong suit.  Don't waste your time or money here.

Bad check in experience had to wait an hour more for a room.  No fans in the bathroom and the beds are rock hard.

I stayed here for 3 nights and found the accommodations to be fine. This hotel is right across from the beach and about 10 minutes form downtown Saint Augustine. To me, this is the perfect location.

Upon arriving we were greeted and were able to get to our room fairly quickly. Sometimes when staying in hotels the elevators take forever, but not here; the elevator was working just fine and I didn't have to wait long at all. Our room was easy to find and when we walked in it was cool and appeared clean.

We had to ask for extra towels and they were at our door within minutes. The housekeeping staff were friendly and did a great job. We stayed for breakfast one morning, but I wasn't a fan. I think they had a nice idea with the buffet, but there isn't that much to choose from. I would have preferred a continental breakfast. The service was fine and the food was okay, but I was not that impressed with the choices for a $9 meal.

Overall, this is a nice hotel with good customer service. I would stay here again if needed.

I know when I book at a Hilton property I'm going to get a good bed and a clean room, and this was no exception.

I booked on the Hilton website, which is cheaper than any of the travel sites, and there was a "bed and breakfast" special that was worthwhile.  Breakfast was very good, unlike most of the "free" breakfasts at other places.

I used the hot tub after breakfast.  I had checked it out the night before and didn't see where the jacuzzi button was.  When I went to the front desk to ask, the man behind the counter said, "I'll come out and show you."  That's hospitality.

    This place was just ok.

We spent a weekend in the area since we would be heading to Jax for a football game. My husband had hotel points he could use for a free room and so the Hilton Garden Inn was it.

It's about 15-20 minutes from the Historic St. Augustine area along A1A which seems to be a long strip of restaurants and non descript restaurants. Reminded me of a deserted beach town.

Anyways, for the most part, the hotel was fine. Only thing that was a semi pain was that our room was on one end of the hotel but the elevator was on the other end. It wasn't a big deal . We ended up finding the stairwell that was closer to our room so we would take that to go downstairs which led us straight to the back exit door where we parked.    The back door of the hotel was secure and entry wasn't allowed without a hotel key.

I did think it was odd that there were a trillion throw pillows on the bed.

I would probably not stay here again unless it was free or if I was only going to be in town for a night. I'd rather spend a little more for nicer accommodations if it was an extended stay.

Room was clean. Location is ok not great.

    Front desk was very nice.

Con (which we knew before we booked) is there is no breakfast. Continental costs $5 and full made to order $9. Not bad, but...

We recommend you head into town and go to Georgie's Diner for a nice breakfast.

3 stars is accurate for this place.

The fitness center is only cardio machines.

The breakfast is probably the worst I've ever had at a Garden Inn.

The location is great and the staff is friendly but I'd recommend trying somewhere else.

The hotel was physically appealing. The area is nice as well, although it's a bit out of the way to downtown St. Augustine. Publix, and a couple of restaurants are in the same area, so you can walk to them. The staff was friendly and helpful.

It was $160 a night and we were upgraded to a suite for free (Hilton Honors Member). The suite was large - a seating area, desk, TV, sink. A hallway lead to a large bathroom. The tub was peeling a little, but overall the bathroom was in good shape.

The bedroom was fine, but the cooling unit was in a small closet in the bedroom and it was very noisy. They have adjustable beds, which allows you to have a firmer or softer mattress. I don't feel that my bed was working properly.

Having a balcony was nice, but there was no view from our room.

I liked that there was a hot tub, but the pool area and pool itself were small, so it became crowded very quickly.
