This place made me a fan of La Quinta.
I had stayed at a hotel down the road for a few bucks less, and what a learning experience.
I've stayed in enough hotels that I am particular. I like clean air, clean bed sheets, and a room clean enough that my baby girl can run around. You would be surprised how hard this is to find.
Stopping in here, the lobby is basic although clean, so I wasn't expecting much for the room. However, the room was excellent.
The hotel is obviously pretty new, and the interior has crown molding, granite bathroom counters, clean soft white sheets, clean fluffy comforters, a flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, and good sized desk. I can't really explain how good it feels to be able to relax and be comfortable after a long day on the road.
The breakfast in the mornings is good as well, with coffee, cereal, a waffle maker, etc. The staff is friendly, there's a pool outside, and fitness facilities are onsite as well (which I will check on next stay).
If you are driving through the St Augustine area and need a break, stop here. It's still a few bucks cheaper than similar quality places near by, way better than the cheapy-creepy places down the street, and only 10-15 minutes away from downtown St. Augustine.

This is my first road trip with dogs and I am staying in different hotels than usual. This was my first fabulous experience. Most have been disappointing, loud and very basic, and they were all more expensive than this.
A good visit started with a nice, helpful guy at check-in, which was very thorough getting your pets name and contact info. The room was spacious and comfortable with a desk and couch, and a big fluffy comforter on the bed. There is a large grassy area right next to it, which is big enough to let the dogs off the leash and run around if you want.
An incredible value for the price. Also, dog friendly was a great restaurant we found- about 15 minutes away- Barley Republic Public House.
My first La Quinta visit .. I hope they're all this good.
