We reserved a handicap room through Hotels.com as well as another room with a king bed.  Prepaid and called to confirm a month before.  Upon arrival after 3 hours of driving, neither requests were accommodated.  
The king bed, no big deal
The handicap room HUGE deal.  The people at the front kept saying they had no record and we should not use Hotels.com , which was neither here nor there. They pretty much treated all of us like idiots for our genuine need (our handicapped part had a Traumatic Brain Injury)
I asked for us to be notified and they said they would oblige of a handicap room opening.

The next morning when I went to ask, the AM person said there was no record of our issue.  When I explained everything, the woman at the front desk only said I should not use hotels.com .  REALLY?????.


We were about thirty minutes from the hotel when my girlfriend's brother showed up to the hotel.
A) They would not let him check in until 4:30 and it was going to be a smoking room, even though he requested non smoking
B) My Girlfriend was on the phone with her brother who was at the hotel. The room was under my name. My girlfriend talked to them over her brothers cell phone and by simply telling the hotel my name, the front desk gave them a key.  WHAT???  How is that for BAD SECURITY?


I gave it two stars and not one because it's in good shape.  If you dont care about security or getting the room you reserved or hospitality, try it out.

A nice basic hotel.  The girl working the front desk was very nice, although she was beyond talkative.  I like being greeted by someone with personality, but not someone who wants to tell me their life story while checking me in.

There is a manager named Salvatore who should not be in the hospitality field. One of the rudest and nastiest persons I have ever dealt with.

Worst Hampton Inn in the United States!Stay away from this place. Hot water is intermittent at best. Silver fish in the bathtub. No soap dish. Only one chair for per room. No luggage racks in the room. No microwave oven in room. Scary elevators - they bounce when you reach your floor. Room key must be jiggled in order to enter your room. Only positive thing is the friendly courteous attitude of the staff.

I've stayed here several times over the years and the service is always top notch. The fitness center has been refreshed, including dumbbells, bench and weight machine.
Nice big lobby with plenty of seating for breakfast. there's a Starbucks across the street and an Ale House across the parking lot. Plenty of places to eat if you feel like driving and Big Top Brewery is just a few miles away.

The good news is that the room is clean! Always the MOST important metric. Down side. Last time I stayed here it was $107 a night. This time $259!!! REALLY??? Same room. Same place.  I was told it is because it is "Valentine's Day" bu--rother! No microwave in room. A super loud "air purifier". The iron is broken and ruined my shirt.  Not at all happy paying 2 1/2 times my previous rate. I feel like they saw me coming. Since when does the word "hospitality" mean "GAUGE" ?

Booked this hotel within a month of my trip to Sarasota, wasn't expecting much from looking at the photos and pricing but to my surprise, it was a pretty decent place to stay. The location wasn't that good but the quality of service and the rooms was impressive. Would recommend if planning to visit the area for a few days
