Stayed here for 3 days recently, mainly for the location to a variety of places in the area.

- very friendly staff
- son said the custom omelet breakfast was "best ever" (adults thought the buffet was just okay for $10)
- nice lobby we actually hung out in--a fireplace and comfortable chairs
- attentive bartender
- outside jacuzzi and pool had good sun and were nice
- sufficient and free workout room with TV
- room properly cleaned

- bed was very uncomfortable--worn in the center and pillows too big
- had a weird experience late one night where the A/C blew in a sewage (!) smell. But it went away and staff showed great concern, even though there was nothing they could do.

This part of the Tamiami Trail is really an armpit, but we went to so many places in the area  it was a good value for us since we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel.

We had a quick weekend stay here.  The rooms were clean and the bed was super comfy.  The only sad face was they would not let us have a late check out without charging us, so after a quick dip in the pool, we had 15 minutes to throw our stuff in bags, and proceeded to pack in the lobby.  Haha.  Breakfast was great though, and the guy at the bar was super nice.

And, you can't beat the awesome free shuttle!

I stayed here during my recent weekend trip to Sarasota. The hotel is located less than two miles from the airport and offers a free shuttle to and from. It's close to downtown, the beaches, and restaurants.

The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, bid you a good day, and welcomed you as you returned. They were having a manager's meeting / dinner and offered guests a ticket for free hors d'oeuvres and drinks. I also received a free breakfast coupon; unfortunately, I didn't get to use it because I had things to do in the early AM and didn't get a chance to eat breakfast. Being busy, I wasn't going to be able to check out by 11 AM and asked if I could check out by noon, and it was no problem / no extra charge. As for the room itself, I had a king sized bed, with a TV, mini fridge, microwave, desk, lounge chair, and plenty of lamps. The linens were clean and the TV was a flatscreen (not a gigantic tube). Not much to complain about except the air conditioning seemed to have a mind of its own. I'd turn it all the way up to 76 degrees and it'd still be blowing icy cold air. It was okay though, because the blankets kept me warm. The walls were pretty thin and I could hear my neighbors, even though I was all the way at the end of the hall.

Can't say much about the amenities, such as the pool and jacuzzi, since all I did was sleep there and spent the rest of my free time at the beach. Oh but they do offer hassle-free, non-password restricted wi-fi!

I am at the end of a 5 night stay at the hilton garden inn in Sarasota. I arrived on the 21st of May and was greeted with such enthusiasm and professionalism by Anny. She was so helpful by giving us names of local restaurants and places to see. She was down to earth and made us feel as if we were talking to a friend back home.
Throughout our stay, we misplaced our wedding band and were in full panic mode. We thought we left it out and that somehow during housekeeping, it had been either thrown out or somewhere on the floor. We didn't want to think anyone would take it....and they didn't as we soon found it but during the searching process, everyone was spectacular. Anny and other staff came up and helped us look for it. On the last day , Jason, the general manager came into our room and helped us look for it, he was willing to help us fill out a sheriffs report, and was just so helpful. He didn't accuse his staff but also acknowledged what we were thinking- that maybe someone did indeed maybe take the ring. As I said, we ended up finding it and apologizing a million times but nonetheless, the staff was amazing.
I have been to other Hiltons but this location exceeded our expectations in every aspect. We are so grateful to have stayed here and hope to return.

I base this review on an interaction with the Food and Beverage manager via email.  Suffice to say I will not be further considering the Hilton Garden Inn and if management reviews Yelp, it is time to take a gander at the emails your F&B manager is sending to potential customers (sending from his IPhone).

This is a nice HGI that is conveniently located by the airport.

Only weird thing is the sign is small and the hotel is set way back from the main road so its easy to drive right by it.

The hotel employees are the genuinely happy to see me.  I love the front desk staff and Patricia at the restaurant.  Great group of people.  I've stayed in more upscale hiltons before, but the charm of the staff makes up for it.  I read a previous review of someone upset with the towel service. I've met the housekeeping staff and they are predominantly Spanish speaking. I would consider writing a note in Spanish.  Google translator should help if you do not speak Spanish.

Recently stayed there on business. Loved the business center very private. Clean hotel only stayed one night. They had a disposable razor when I requested. I'm an Honors member and they gave me 2 free water bottles, but put them in a bag for easy transport. Staff was wonderful! Must be under construction though half the parking lot was blocked and it smelled like they just reconstructed the lawn. When I arrived it just rained and it smelt like fresh manure.

If you are expecting a high quality Hilton, then you may be disappointed.  Or a high quality airport hotel, you will be.  I think thats the cause of some of the poor reviews.  But I think if you take the hotel for what it is, its a very nice average hotel.

Very clean rooms and prompt laundry service.  Staff was very friendly, even checked multiple times to make sure I could get to the airport.  No real complaints. Its just average hotel so if you can get it for a good price, I'd recommend it. My biggest thing with hotels is making sure I feel safe and my possessions are safe.  Felt safe here.

3 - Average

Today the kitchen forgot to make my wife's omelet and then made it wrong. 30 minutes and she just could not wait a 3rd time. Last night our room keys didn't work. They didn't leave the towels as we requested. Lastly... HBO isn't working.
As promised, a new day and another 1 star review. More to come tomorrow.

I really enjoyed my recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn!  Bonus that it was in a safe area, unlike some of the places I saw while I was in town.

I arrived after midnight and was able to get a complimentary hotel shuttle from the airport.  Mind you, you need to call and tell the hotel that you have arrived and request the shuttle, as they won't be waiting for you outside the airport.

Once I got there, I was able to check in quickly.  The bed seas comfy, allowing for a good night's sleep, and the thermostat was controlled by a wall box rather than the sometimes-unreliable controls on the unit itself.

For your AM coffee, enjoy either the Keurig in the room, or grab some (free) Joe in the lobby.  There is a breakfast buffet that is a flat fee, but I never took advantage of it.

The gym was adequate; several of the TVs on treadmills weren't working (either no picture or no sound jack to listen to said TV), so I didn't work out while I was there.  The outdoor pool and hot tub were quite nice, and I enjoyed a relaxing morning watching the sun come up over the palm trees on one of the days that I was there.

Also, there is complimentary Wi-Fi, but it was somewhat slow and unreliable.  I guess it fits in the category of being you get what you pay for!

All in all, I had a great stay, and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Sarasota area.
