Standard HIE. nice clean rooms, free breakfast, and good location (much cheaper than the Saratoga Bay, unless you need or want to pay 50% more for a view) Had a room with an air conditioner that was OK, but weak. Moved to another room that was much cooler and we were much happier.

This is a fairly new hotel. We stayed for a few days. The double queen room was very roomy - there was space for all of our luggage. The room has a small refrigerator, cabinets and microwave. Beautiful decor and colors...
The breakfast was delicious - much more than the dull continental breakfast most hotels serve. We had some sort of eggs and meat every day, along with oatmeal, rolls, toast, yogurt, milk, juice, and coffee. At least those were the things that my family had - there could have been more!
*They have a saltwater pool*

The front desk late night check in staff was really nice. Our AC was broken all night long and we reported it, showering the next day was unbearable if using hot water. The front desk attendant was told by the manager to tell us the manager was "at the bank" and it was Sunday. After making us wait, finally the front desk attendant comped our room. Waiting for a refund, I see the full charge for a night post to my CC, and to my surprise on the statement I see a second night. I called during the week to speak to a manager, explained the situation to the front desk girl, and she said the manager was in a meeting and would call me back. 2 hours later, I had to call and the manager was "in the bathroom" and I was told I could leave a voicemail and wait for a call back. I told her I've waited 2 hours you can put me on hold. She was annoyed and emphasized she didn't know how long it would take, with total attitude. I said it was fine and she put me on hold. About 10 seconds later the manager was suddenly there. RANDY proceeded to give me an attitude after hearing my frustration of being given the beat around the bush act. He insisted he processed me refund for a night, and completely ignored me asking what about the second night on my statement OF WHICH I NEVER STAYED!!!
The management will try to dodge customers. If you see issues on your credit cards or in your statements, call to report the fraud, don't bother dealing with this lousy management team. It's a shame because the front desk staff at all other times was great and the breakfast was great as well!

After my hubby and I checked into a disgusting other big chain hotel five miles down the road, we immediately started searching for another hotel. Being that this is Christmas week, much like Mary and Joseph we kept running into "no vacancy." Trouble in paradise.
For whatever reason, there was a little room left here and we jumped on it. The rooms are clean, free wifi, free breakfast, the things you would expect from a Holiday Inn.
I have three reasons I would not give this hotel 5 stars, even by Holiday Inn standards. The hotel is pet friendly, and we are surrounded by yippy dogs. I love my hound dog, but part of going on vacay is NOT dealing with doggie for a week. I would appreciate if the hotel designated one floor for pets so the rest of us traveling sans fido aren't yipped at.
Secondly, the doors do not have that fabulous anti slam contraption that most hotels have (ironically, their stairwells DO have them). Our next door neighbor keeps slamming to his little hearts delight and jarring me out of my nice vacation sleep. Rude. He just so happens to also be one of the yippy dog owners, so the slam has an encore of yips.
Lastly, the cable package is pretty cheesy. No Bravo, Food Network or HGTV. That's a must in all good hotels in my humble opinion.
All of these are super fixable issues for the hotel, and if addresses would turn my four stars into five- by Holiday Inn standards of course.
