This hotel is a top notch stay. From the time you walk in the door the amazing decor and and friendly staff will grab your attention. Very very clean rooms with all new furniture and very competitive rates. Some of the other features that keep bring me back is the restaurant and bar on site.Since i stayed here this is the only place I have eaten and have been shocked at the quality of the food every time . Indoor heated pool with lounge area and hot tub also have steam room and sauna . And to the best part is a very updated work out center which is above and beyond then most hotels.

I have eaten here a few times during my travels and have never been disappointed with the food (get any of the fish cedar planked) but every time the service has stunk. I'd give it 5 stars but coming from someone who preaches customer service to her employees, I just can't rate it higher.

We ended up at the Holiday Inn Sarasota Airport when the hotel we had booked at Siesta Key lost our reservation during Memorial Day weekend 2012.  The location was definitely not what we had hoped for but every other hotel at the beach was already full to capacity during the holiday weekend.  Marshall, one of the front desk associates, was more than helpful and very pleasant in greeting us and checking us in.  He was able to check us into a room at 11:30am, much earlier than their stated check in time.  The main lobby was much nicer than we anticipated for a Holiday Inn, and the room was very modern and clean.  My only complaint about this hotel is with their onsite restaurant and room service.  On Sunday morning we called to order room service around 9:00am and were informed that the wait would be much longer than normal and that we would be better off coming down to the restaurant to pick up our food to go.  We ended up going down to eat in the restaurant, but they had one waitress on staff for the entire dining area, their breakfast buffet was in a horrible state, and we were basically ignored and told that we could get coffee from the buffet area, but the coffee and water were both completely gone and no one seemed to be in charge of replenishment.  We ended up leaving without eating on site.  For the price, you really can't beat the quality of the accommodations, but I would not plan on dining on site, and the location is about 25 minutes from Siesta Key beach so can be a bit of a hike if your plans include the local beaches.

- Brand new hotel
- Nice interior design
- Impeccably clean, nice amenities
- Friendly staff
- Supposedly a great restaurant (though we didn't have a chance to try that). We did have their breakfast and my cinnamon toast was lovely.
- Convenient location with little airport noise.
- Reliable WiFi, if a little bit slow (not too bad)

- The area around the hotel smells like sulfur. I have no idea why or what the source is, but the water taste a bit like it too.
- The pillows: Someone here mentions that they have a variety of choices (as they do at some other Holiday Inns), but all we got was four of the exact same pillows (no sleeve around them indicating firm/soft), and every single one was very small, way too thick, and painfully hard. I haven't had such uncomfortable pillows in a hotel in many years and have certainly never had any in a Holiday Inn (and we're frequent customers with Holiday Inn)
- There is no way that the single king size bed that was in our room is actually a king size bed. I forgot to measure it in the morning, but we always sleep on king size beds and I like to sleep with my arms spread out. Based on how little space there was for my arms to stretch (and assuming my arms have not shrunk), this bed was smaller than a standard king.
- All rooms have an outside window on one side, and a door leading to a large open lobby (like an indoor courtyard). The noise from the courtyard can be VERY loud. Between the conference group having a dinner buffet type thing and the sports fans in the bar a couple floors down, there was constant yelling, which went right through our door into our room. Rather disappointing to find an airport hotel that manages to BLOCK the airplane noise, and then creates an interior structure that leads to every shout, loud laugh, etc being heard in every single room in the hotel. (We were on the 4th floor btw, so should really not have heard the bar!)

In short: Between the pillows and the bed that my husband and I are both convinced was smaller, I had a terrible night's sleep (about 3 hours, after a LONG day). Hard to get any work done too with constant yelling from the bar four floors down. This is the first Holiday Inn we've ever stayed in to which we will NOT be returning.

Really good place to camp overnite. My first time in tonite. Good elec outlets numbers. Good cold beer on tap in bar. Close to APPS Jet Center where our airplane is parked. Just right. Thanks folks. Well done.

This brand new hotel is beautiful. From the outside, it looks like nothing at all. In fact, it looks a bit normal. It's one bit green block. But you walk in and the room opens up to a bright, modern hotel. I was very surprised when I walked in.

Free WiFi.

Don't miss out on the indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi and a steam sauna.

The rooms are nice. The beds are very comfortable. They are not too hard, and not too soft. And they actually mark the types of pillows that they offer! You don't have to test them. There are little tags that tell you if you have a firm or a soft pillow.

The bathrooms are very modern and clean, which is always a great plus.

There are a few things that give away that they are still a new hotel and are working some things out. For example, there are no glasses or cups in the bathroom. Also, no towels in the pool area.

But you know what, this hotel is nice. I was very impressed.

This restaurant is located in a relatively new (6 months) Holiday Inn located near the Sarasota Bradenton Airport.  My business traveling years ago included endless Holiday Inns.  The hotels nowadays are looking sleek and brighter and this restaurant seemed a step-up from those I recall serving their captive hotel customers.

Entry is from the H.I. lobby and includes a bar, inside dining for maybe 60, along with an outdoor patio area.    The décor is sleek and tastefully modern with flat screens throughout the room.  Just enough TV's to be considered a sports bar, but probably not enough to satisfy a sports junkie.

The food here is okay, but everything seems to be a buck or two more that it should be.  I had their blue cheese burger with bacon at $9.95.  It comes with a side of fries or onion rings.  Mine came incorrectly with onion rings which were quickly replaced with the ordered fries.  Good chance to taste them both and confirm that they each come out of a freezer bag and weren't very good.  The half pound burger however was quite good and cooked medium, as ordered, with a side of BBQ sauce which didn't seem to go with the savory blue cheese.  The sauce was Kraft all the way, so no loss.

My wife had the Roasted Salmon BLT ($9.50) which seemed undercooked but she chose not to send it back for a little more heat.  This was served on a whole wheat bun which was disappointing.  My dinner was served with an unripe tomato slice still semi green.  Somebody in the kitchen should have noticed.

Our friends shared a Caesar salad described as crisp and fresh with just the right amount of dressing.  The grilled 12oz. rib eye ($21.95) was cooked as ordered.  Ribeye's do tend to be fatty, but this one seemed to take marbling to the extreme.  Lots of inedible fat remained on the plate when our friend finished.

They also had the "slider" appetizer (8.95) which included three mini cheeseburgers.  They disappeared pretty quickly.  If you're a "captive" for a night at this Holiday Inn, stick with the burgers as the more sophisticated the menu item, the more disappointing.

A final note to management; I really like the modern clean look of the restaurant, but the salt & pepper shakers shaped like tall, skinny stainless steel rockets are a problem. They are really very good looking but most times fall over as soon as you touch them, then you wonder how the hell the seasoning gets out of the damn things.  Clue:  it sprinkles from the SIDE, not the top!

Wow - not your typical hotel food here!  I had Firecracker Ahi that rivals any seared tuna dish I ever had.  I tried the chicken chili that was nicely spiced and as it says on the menu - "flavorful".  The two people I dined with were equally impressed with their dishes.  One had cedar planked salmon and the other a specialty burger.  Service was fast and friendly.
Too bad I am not a local, because I would make this a regular spot for a great meal.

Overbooked rooms for the race and let everyone know when they arrived. Since we booked under a third party, they told us they didn't have any contact information to let us know ahead of time. All they could say is sorry and send us to the Days Inn, which was sketchy at best. Poor customer service on their part. I understand that things happen, but the way they handled it was terrible.

Nice modern look, the rooms were clean, and prices were decent. But i would not stay here again. The rooms are designed where they are surround the main lobby in a circular fashion. Looks neat but the noise was unbearable. The walls were so thin that you could hear every conversation, running children, and even the clanking of dishes from the restaurant in the lobby. Kids run this hotel....literally. They are running around every where screaming with people screaming and partying all night in the patio. I asked the front desk if they could do something about the loud patrons at 12:30 am, he said he didnt now what he could do. WTF? Front desk was no help at all thus i did not have decent night of sleep.

If you enjoy sleep, stay away from this place!

Brand new, super clean hotel with everything that you would need for a business trip or a weekend.  My wife and I stayed at this Holiday Inn for a weekend.  This place is much nicer than most Holiday Inns.  Everything is very clean, new, and convenient.  The breakfast that was included was nothing special, but it was quality fresh food served by nice people.  The price was right and we would stay here again.

Surprisingly Better Than Expected

I honestly didn't expect this experience to be as good as it was.

Reservation:  my reservations as made through my company's travel system.

Arrival:  upon arriving the reception was warm and welcoming - not bad at all - kudos.

Room:  the room was nice and clean.  The colors and lighting of the room were warm and welcoming.

Stay:  the room was quiet.  There was only one issue - when the folks in the room next to me got up to take a shower the next morning - I could hear everything.  Not cool.

Checkout:  the staff was not as warm as the folks that welcomed me in the night before.  None the less - worked out.

This hotel is perfect.  We have an affordable suite in a great location.  The hotel common areas and suite are all very new and minimalist.  The front desk service was prompt and very courteous.  The parking was just adequate, not great.

The suite is very comfortably sized.  A large living room, dining room and a kitchenette in one area.  Off the kitchenette are doors leading to the bathroom and bedroom.  The king sized bed was very comfortable.  Pillows are typical hotel quality - not great.  The bedroom could stand to be a little larger, even if it meant sacrificing some space from the living room.

Three closets altogether.  Sofa is firm but comfortable, and a pullout if required, but we only needed the bed.  A nice matching chair is plush and relaxing.  Two televisions of adequate size.  Almost 50 channels to choose from.  Wifi is a decent speed - 10/5.  Not great, but good enough for working.  Dining room table is big enough for four people to enjoy a meal.

I'll be back, and soon!

Good brand. I see the sports bar here which was the new concept for the holiday inn select spec. This is holiday inn yet holding higher brand spec with very friendly service oriented staff.

Outstanding stay!  Quick check in. Friendly staff. The hotel looks beautiful. Everything is clean and neat. All the staff members are willing to help. The restaurant is eclectic and the food surprisingly great for a hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

I stayed here the first weekend in May, with a large lacrosse group. When I checked in, I did complain about how loud the hotel was. The first night, the noise went on until close to 2 AM.

I'm not sure if my check-in was read, but the second night was a huge improvement. I was told the next morning, that the manager cleared the lobby at 11pm.

My room overlooked the lobby, and when my a/c was running it blocked out the echoing from the regular noise. Everyone in the group that had a room down one of the halls, never complained about noise.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable.. And for the a/c, it was my favorite old-school type..allowing me the ability to freeze through the night, if I really wanted to..can I get an Amen?

My rate for this hotel included breakfast, even though I didn't try it... I was told by my picky eater that it was good (when she went to carb up for the day).

If you decide to stay here, you may want to pick up some food/snacks for the room...since there really isn't anything super close by.  In my room I had a mini fridge, but no microwave :-/

This is a hotel I'd come back to.

Nothing to great about this place, but it is right around the corner from the airport which makes for a certain amount of convenience.. i will say I noticed the pillows were kind of flat. I hate that shit. I need a big ass firm pillow to keep my dome upright when i snooze. saw some reviews complaining about the noise. I never noticed that although we were there during the week. The breakfast buffet was overpriced and not very good and theres nothing in the immediate surrounding neighborhood so you better have a car.

Decent hotel. Its a Holiday Inn and commensurate with most that I've been to. They really price gouge you though and that hurts. We just needed a place to lay our heads for the night. Price was double hotels down the road. We were so tired we didn't want to keep driving. D clerk told us that the grill was open till 11 p.m. so we hurried up to get down and get some food in our stomachs. We got down and were told that the grill actually had closed already. It was only 10 45 No breakfast included for our 270 bucks talk to the manager and they wouldn't do anything to help us in any way. hope they're glad they got their money I will probably make every effort to never return to a Holiday Inn.  For sure this one!

Overall, I was pretty impressed with this Holiday Inn. check-in was a bit slow, but I was greeted as a Platinum IHG member, and received a free welcome gift (A warm bottle of water, which is better than nothing..lol), bonus points, and was pretty efficient (the others in front of me were not). She was very friendly and helpful as well. The lobby part of the hotel is very nice and open with a waterfall hovering the glass elevators. I like these open concept hotels it makes everything feel "free". Walked into the room and was pleasantly surprised with how clean smelling and neat the room was. It is basic but kept up. The bed was comfortable and pillows were nice. Good water pressure in the shower and sink. The toilet was a bit temperamental but everything was clean. Wake up calls were always delivered on time with multiple calls and a nice area to work (laptop, etc...) Nice choice of TV channels and they actually put 4 sets of towels in my room since I was there for 4 nights. Most hotels will give you three... I don't understand that. It seems that this H.I. pays attention to detail with their customer preferences. There were always maintenance guys around during the day painting, updating, and keeping things nice. This hotel is managed well. They have a buffet breakfast (which I didn't utilize) but they do have free coffee and a coffee stand where you can buy other coffee.

The only downfall... The food in the bar was awful... I got a grilled chicken sandwich and it was not cooked all the way. I told the bartender but it was never taken off my bill. Jay, however (The bartender), was great... he was very tentative and knowledgeable about where to go in the area. Nice fire pit outside which was nice conversing with other patrons and hanging out drinking a cold beer.

I will definitely stay here the next time while working in Sarasota, unless, the Indigo downtown is cheaper (out of season). The rate at H.I. is far and competitive with other hotels near SRQ. I paid less than $140 per night.
