Standouts are the cleanliness and decor in the rooms, including shelving as well as a bureau, tables, seating, make up mirror and walk in tiled shower. Wi-Fi was very fast and plenty of outlets. Room included microwave and refrigerator. Front desk staff was courteous but not overly welcoming. No concierge. Outdoor minimalist pool. Coffee was available in the lobby in the morning, but not tea and the coffee was not out until 6:30 am when the restaurant opened. People sitting impatiently in lobby waiting for coffee. Breakfast is not included. Lucky pelican restaurant around the corner is excellent seafood restaurant and many restaurants and shopping in immediate area. Close to the interstate. Bar is walled from lobby so not as inviting as in some Holiday Inns. A negative was that the parking was full because of a meeting and hotel guests had to park in the shopping mall nearby. Would suggest the hotel reserve space for guests and have short-term meeting participants park in shopping mall. Overall a clean, pleasant hotel in a convenient location but not as welcoming or accommodating as some.

I have a tip for everyone!
Free internet is code word for slow or no internet. It's much easier to give it away than to charge you and then give you a refund. Plus the expectations when you complain are low.
Very interesting concept...........

If I could give it zero stars I would. When I checked in, the host was not exactly friendly. Upon entering the room, it was a sauna and probably about 90 degrees. I turned on the floor unit AC on max and at it's lowest setting. I went to the front desk after an hour of it not being cooled much and let him know the issue. I told him I was going to work out some in the gym but if the room didn't cool by my return I would need to be switched to another room. He was not apologetic or friendly and abruptly told me that wouldn't be possible bc they were sold out. He did call maintenance to check on the issue. The gym was very dated and I'd deem the treadmills in not safe, barely working condition. When I got back to the room, I noticed it wasnt much cooler and the AC wasn't even running! The maintenance guy had come in and turned the setting up instead of keeping it on the lowest setting to allow the room to cool!!! Wow!
Now the best part..... I went In to the bathroom and was appalled to find long black hairs ALL over the place. Since I couldn't switch rooms, I cleaned this up as much as I could. If you want to see what I collected, look under the photos for the hotel. It was disgusting. As you can see from my picture, I have very short blonde hair. I kept the wash cloth full of hair and presented to the front desk clerk in the AM and didn't even get an apology as I was checking out. Needless to say I won't be staying at this Holiday Inn or likely in any other anytime soon. I'd recommend that you stay far away too as they are more concerned about filling rooms than cleaning them and taking care of their customers.

We loved everything about the hotel -- a beautiful and relaxed setting. While all of the staff was friendly and cheerful, the front desk clerk, David Dean, went above and beyond to make sure our stay was really enjoyable. David provided excellent customer service, handling all of our special requests effectively and cheerfully. He was very knowledgable about the area and answered all of our questions about Sarasota. We look forward to our next visit!

Fantastic service and a squeaky clean room! The front desk workers are very friendly. Hotel also has a restaurant and bar. The hotel is located near lots of shopping and restaurants. Not too far from the breaches (15-20 min with traffic).

**REVIEW FOR THE BALLROOM**
I've attended several events hosted at the Holiday Inn LWR location. The ballrooms are spacious and clean. What I really like about the place is that it has great chicken tender appetizers and also provide a variety of food choices to choose from.
If you want to book the rooms for your special event, I'd recommend checking out these options at the Holiday Inn. The location is great too, right off of hwy 75 and University Parkway, and there's usually plenty of parking!

Holiday Inns seem pretty much the same everywhere I've been, and the Lakewood Ranch location was no exception. I stayed here for a night last month, and don't really have any complaints.
Checking in was easy, and they easily honored the promotional rate. My room was clean and relatively spacious, and unlike other reviews I didn't have any problems with the temperature. For a longer stay, the refrigerator and microwave would have been handy. The internet was a little slow when I tried to use it for streaming Hulu, but worked fine for everything else. I forgot that my hair won't dry on its own in Florida humidity, so was relieved that the hair dryer worked pretty well. I had a coupon for free breakfast, but couldn't find anybody to give it to, so I ended up just stealing a bagel and some juice (whoops).
I'm sure that there are hotels that are fancier and cooler elsewhere in the area, but for my short trip to Bradenton, the Holiday Inn worked out just fine.

I have been to meetings at this location numerous times and the staff has always been attentive and friendly. Tonight was the first time we stayed overnight for a meeting. Yes, this IS the third time I have visited the Sarasota area in two weeks, but coincidentally all these events were planned!
This Holiday Inn is the cleanest I have seen! For once, my company sprang for individual rooms instead of sticking us with roommates! The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are clean.
A couple of my pet peeves...my thermostat is set at 66 degrees right now and I just can't seem to get my room cold enough! Am I possibly suffering from menopause at the ripe old age of 43? No way!
Secondly, ummm....the bar closed EARLY. The open bar for our meeting closed at 10:30!!! So where are we to go when our bar has closed? The hotel bar?! Noooo. It was closed by the time we exited the meeting room.
This hotel is located right off the University Parkway exit. Pretty much, in close proximity to NADA. Well, It is pretty close to some great golf courses! But, if you are planning on visiting the beautiful Sarasota beaches, this is not the place to stay. This hotel is about a thirty minute drive to the beaches.
Great friendly staff, clean rooms, and great prices make this place a great place to stay. But...only if you plan on visiting the Lakewood Ranch area!

Friendly staff, they were always very helpful. The hotel room was clean and nicely updated. It also included a fridge and microwave which is very helpful when traveling with children. The only bad thing was that maid service wasn't always thorough enough. Sometimes they missed trash bins or forgot to replace cups.
