A nice hotel that is surrounded by a bunch of other Marriott's. Comfy beds, clean room and breakfast is included. I was actually very happy with the breakfast. Eggs and other hot things, as well as a waffle maker. Much better than the toast and donuts that you come to expect in hotels.
The pool is very nice although a bit over-chlorinated. Then again, maybe that's a good thing.
All in all, I was happy with my stay here. The staff are friendly, although a bit complacent.

Very nice stay! Had free wi-fi, free breakfast, outdoor pool & hot tub, laundry facilities, clean, pleasant environment. Clean, comfortable rooms. We felt safe & it was only about a 5-min drive to get anywhere.
We arrived at 7 am after an 18-hour drive, they let us check in WAY early (normal check-in is at 3 pm) & even eat the free breakfast a day early (good, except for the powdered eggs.... free juice, coffee, hot oatmeal, cereal, make-your-own waffles, bagels, pastries, milk, fruit, yogurt & to-go bags). Staff was very friendly & helpful. The hotel was recently re-decorated-pretty blue & green motif. Everything smelled pleasantly clean.
I'm giving it a 5-star review, although it's not necessarily a 5-star property, because it was perfect for us & quite reasonably priced.

It's a great value for the money location is good. Staff is excellent helpful and friendly. Rooms are big and spacious but outdated. Carpet is worn and casino like. Smells of stale old cigarettes. But for the value and the bells and whistles like free wifi breakfast and coffee it is a good place to stay. Would recommend this hotel

Clean rooms and outlets by the bed - absolutely need those. Your standard spring hill suites but with a great front end staff. Very friendly and attentive, even when busy. It's kept me coming back. A good gym with free-weights and treadmills.

Pros: Good value for the price. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Convenient location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: breakfast is average. Pool an spa need to be maintained better. Bed too soft for my taste.

An old hotel in dare need of facelift.
Wallpaper and plastic bath fitters in showers, cafeteria style tables in breakfast room, old windows that need to be replaced in guest rooms.
No towels were stacked in exercise room and AC was under the lock and key. In hot and humid FL! On a plus side, exercise room open 24 hrs and LifeFitness machines were in excellent shape. There is also small pool on the back.
Close to airport and quiet, but boy, they should renovate!

It has been 3 years since we stayed at this hotel and feel it has gone down hill. Stayed one night before here at Courtyard much better option. They did a half done renovation on this hotel. I have stayed at a lot of Marriott properties and this not up to standards.
Shower curtain in bathroom so long .
When you pull out the sofa bed you can not walk by it because of the way they positioned it you have to crawl over it to get to other side of room..
We killed a small roach ugh
Breakfast same stuff every day and not replenished well.
Carpets in hall and elevator very dirty.
Plenty of other hotels on this street will not stay here again

Very nice hotel. If you are at all hesitant about staying here because it's near an airport - don't worry. I was here on a Friday and Saturday, and I didn't hear even one plane. It was a non-issue. The hotel has lots of pretty shade trees and sits back from the street - kind of secluded - it's nice.
The lobby and hallways in the hotel appear to have been freshly remodeled. The carpets seem new and the furniture in the lobby is beautiful. It's a very pleasant space to walk into.
I was checked-in by an exceptionally nice young man named Eric. He was so pleasant - not only to me, but to the other guests who came in at the same time as me. On my second night, I needed something and Robby helped me. Robby, too, was very nice and pleasant. Both these young men are an asset to Marriott!
My room was nice. It was spacious and clean. There was a big sofa and living area, a separate sleeping area, and a little work space with a kitchen area behind it (microwave, frig and sink). The bathroom had the vanity and tub/toilet separate - I like that. The bathroom was nice and roomy and super clean. The bed was softer that I like, but it was okay.
My room had a bit of a smell in it when I came in. I tried to open a window, but the windows only open a couple inches, so it didn't help. I asked to change rooms, and there was no trouble or issue with that at all; I was quickly switched to a new room.
The breakfast (complimentary) was good. The lady working in that area was very nice and efficient. There's plenty to eat and it's a nice area to sit and relax and have your breakfast.
There's a gym (ha, ha, I don't use that) and a pool (never use), but I saw them and they are nice. Parking is free and there's plenty of it. Wi-fi is also free and it is exceptional - very speedy.
This hotel is a good location (exceptional if you need to be by the airport). It's on a main drag, and downtown Sarasota is only a few minutes away. There are grocery stores, malls, restaurants, specialty shops, and any kind of store you want within a few minutes. The Ringling thing is just minutes away.
I went to watch the sunset both nights I was here and it was a quick drive to Lido Key (good spot - just past St. Armands). There's plenty of parking there and it's a beautiful white-sand beach with a gorgeous view of the sunset. (Directions: Go left out of the hotel onto University (west), then another left when you get to Tamiami Trail. Go a little ways down (just past Fruitville), and turn right to go across the causeway to St. Armands (west again). After the circle at St. Armands, just follow the signs for Lido Key - it's a great sunset spot.)
