After my trip to Europe, I realized that hotels in the US are far superior. The Courtyard would easily be considered 4 stars in many countries we visited.
I stayed at this Courtyard for a business trip. As a Marriott Rewards member, I am very familar with with the Marriott products and know what to expect from the brand. This particular location didn't seem as up to date as other Courtyards I have recently stayed at, but what makes them stand out was their customer service. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. As a Silver Elite member, I got a coupon for free glass of wine and they gave me a free bottle of water upon my check-out. There is no room service at this location, but the front desk can give you menus to nearby restaurants that deliver. There are restaurants in the area, but they are either fast food chains or corporate establishments. If you want more local flavor, you'll need to head out to Ybor. They do offer breakfast if you pay for the buffet or from the limited breakfast menu, but you would probably do better if you go to IHOP or Bob Evans across the way.
This was the first Courtyard that I really felt like my Silver Elite membership was valued.

Great value for the money. Checkin staff was excellent. I agree with the reviewer felt special being an elite member. They were very flexible when our travel plans changed. Room and bathroom clean. Beds very comfortable. Excellent breakfast includes make your own waffles and fresh fruit. Breakfast woman was excellent - kept everything well stocked and clean. Coffee a little too strong would be my only complaint but Dunkin Donuts across the street so all is well.

I chose this hotel in Tampa while visiting Moffitt Cancer Center with my daughter. It was not my usual hotel but we thought we'd try something new.
To my regret it was not a good decision. I brought my iPad and new Mac Computer with me to the hotel, when I left the room I put the computer under the bed. When I returned beck to the room hours later the computer and iPad were gone. Almost two thousand dollars worth of electronics were stolen from my room.
Although the manager was sympathetic I never received any compensation for my loss. Not even on my room. Very expensive two night stay!!

Great hotel, friendly staff and clean. Recently renovated; great job done. Only downside no courtesy shuttle to Busch Gardens. Also bistro items not that great. However made up for it with their promotional packages. Thanks for a great stay. ;)

It's just ok - my room smelled a little wet - I've stayed in much nicer courtyards. I will say its WAY better than the Hampton down the road though. I look forward to trying the Fairfield across the street too.

The front desk people were efficient and very friendly. The room was very nice. The thing that made me score it so low, I came back to my room after being gone all day to find the door to my room propped open for who knows how long. Anyone could have walked in and taken anything they wanted. Luckily nothing was taken but could have easily been. I was staying here with 4 coworkers. One of them who were staying on another floor said he saw a room door propped open on his floor. It was 9 at night so he closed it.

This my second stay here and I am very pleased with the hotel and staff. The entire hotel is kept clean, and the rooms are also clean and quiet . Like another reviewer said I really like the plugs on all the wall lamps, wow I can plug in my phone, my wife's phone and a couple of iPads without going under the bed or in the bathroom to find a plug ,Thanks! This location is only about 5 to 8 min drive to busch gardens. The breakfast cafe is great with a very friendly staff and fresh coffee and food .

What a horrible hotel with the worst service I ever had this hotel must go outta business or it's going out of business this customer service agent Nicole who works in the front desk is bad for business idk what kind of a manager they have there to keep an employee that this bad for business and customer relations. I'll never consider this hotel ever . The attitude they give to customers is unbelievable. I'm from nyc where we meet people with attitude all the time but I never had the chance to meet a rude customer service agent like Nicole!!!

I have a hard time giving this hotel more than 3 stars. I stayed here 3 nights. Check in was efficient but they did not offer me a bottle of water or a welcome bag. I think they should do that for first time guests. The room was mostly clean but the towel bar broke and the fridge would not turn on. The bed was ok and I had a room with a balcony, and the fresh air at night 2as nice, but the noise from the road did wake me up a few times. The bistro has a limited number of items and I did not eat there as a result. The staff was nice if not aloof. Oh and -- NO HOT TUB! Save your pennies and stay at the Hilton Garden Inn instead

I agree with the previous reviewer, it is definitely a great value for your money. The room is very clean. The hotel seems to be new, the entire lobby is very welcoming, magazines and the daily paper (local, wall street journal, NY times, Sunday paper, etc) with several computers for free usage and printer capacity.
The lobby opens up to the dinning area which includes breakfast from 6-10am, Starbucks coffee and although I didn't try dinner, I did take a glance at the menu and was pleasantly surprised- from your regular deli-style sandwich to a quesadilla or a personal style pizza. They also serve alcohol (wine and beer)!
The staff are very friendly and helpful. You're always greeted with a smile when you enter.
Overall the rooms are what you would expect at any hotel. They are very clean, standard LG TVs in the room, balcony, AC units.. The biggest PLUS for me was the side table lamps installed into the wall with outlets built right next to it, so you're not kneeling on the ground trying to plug in your phone charger! On top of the end table is also a "iHome" iPod dock and alarm, which also could be used to charge an iphone.
The fitness room is open 24/7, which was very convenient. Its a traditional hotel fitness room, well kept with weights, and cardio machines with individual TVs attached to each machine.
The hotel has a pool as well 3-5ft. deep. Small but simple and clean!
All in all, I was not only pleased, but very happy with my stay at this Courtyard Marriot. We plan to return here if we visit Tampa again. We will be recommending this hotel to family and friends!

I've stayed here a few times over the years while visiting my alma mater in Tampa.
The rooms and common areas of the hotel have been consistently clean during visits and the employees have all been friendly.
Why I Like It:
-I love getting my Marriott points, and this particular Marriott property is always reasonably priced compared to others in the Tampa area. I typically pay a rate around $80/night
-Clean, spacious rooms
-Plenty of convenient parking even when you come back later in the evening
-Always honor my requests/preferences
A Few Issues I've had:
-They don't have proper signage about breakfast being included/not included. I've notice that they've corrected this by telling you at check in that you need to pay for breakfast, but on my first stay, I had an issue. I got breakfast (no one stopped me or asked for my room key or voucher), and was told after I ate that it would be like $20 for breakfast. Thankfully, they waived it because they didn't have any signs or staff informing people. Glad to see they've corrected this since.
-They hold your rate plus an additional like $20 per night for incidentals. It's released when you check out and then they charge the correct amount on your bill for your room. I haven't seen other Marriott properties do this. It could be a new policy, or something that this particular hotel has started to do. Just be prepared that whatever card you use for the room has the extra money for the hold.
-I was in my room when they came by to clean. I told her I was leaving in 5 minutes and asked if she could come back. I was gone for a few hours, and when I came back, no one had been back to my room. I had to call and then wait 30 minutes for new towels and to have my trash emptied.
-My shower knob needed to be replaced on my last stay. It was basically broken.
Overall, this is a great Courtyard. There have been a few minor things here and there, but it's a good value. They have a pool, laundry facility, small market, business center, etc. Everything you expect from Courtyard for the best price in Tampa.
