Yay! I'm a fan. Great place to come from the airport after a long flight! Spacious rooms, and CLEAN. Nice morning breakfast - you can either choose the buffet or order a fresh omlet. Equipped with computers near breakfast or you can use WiFi, and of course there's  pool. Empolyees were very friendly! Overall, it's a great place!

I wouldn't have known this was a Marriott by the interior. The building is old and the carpets are stained throughout the hallways. When I checked in they told me which elevator was closest to my room. I had a lot of large bags and parked near that elevator. I was only there for two days, both of which the elevator was closed. The parking lot was nearly empty (not surprising) so I'm not sure why they didn't just put me in a room closer to a working elevator. The area also doesn't seem very safe. When I came in there were people loitering in the parking lot and for the rest of my stay there was a security guard at the entrance. I won't stay here again.

My girlfriend and I decided to take a vacation in Tampa for the weekend with another couple and of course the first step is finding a hotel. This hotel is very clean, I mean very clean. It was unexpected. Whenever you would pass a staff member they would acknowledge your presence and very friend. For the value we didn't expect much and got so much more. The next time we are in Tampa we are going to drop in.

What if a hotel could be drawn to the Force?  This one would definitely be on the Dark side, not only for its own inadequacies, but from its many neighbors where women tend to be on top of the tables rather than sitting at them ...   Driving down Dale Mabry to here, you get that eerie feeling something is wrong, a bit like getting lost in downtown DC and finding yourself in Southeast.  After passing the questionable establishments and turning the corner there's some high fencing then sure enough the Courtyard signage.  On my visit, the entrance to the lobby was heavily damaged, supposedly by a truck - could this be an omen of things to come?

The check-in process was ok, no complaints there, though the place felt neither inviting nor welcoming.  It had somewhat of a rundown feel, which was confirmed when I got into the room. Though it was suppose to be non-smoking, it smelled musty and had cigarette overtones. The room looked like their standard décor, just older and worn, with cheaper appointments.  Most notably poor was the bath, where the shower pull barely worked and mold was on the caulking and shower curtain.  This isn't the worst hotel by far,  however it is substandard for a Courtyard and near the bottom of the ones I've stayed.  On the plus side, there was a fridge in the room, free internet and plenty of restaurants & a Whole Foods near by.

I am a Marriott guy. I travel quite a bit for work so I'm loyal to one chain for the point rewards.

Normally, my stays at Courtyards are very nice. In my line of work, I'm sometimes in a different hotel every night for a week so it's good to know what to expect.

That said, this hotel was far below the usual Courtyard standards during my stay in early November. Examples:

-The AC unit in my room leaked and left a puddle on the floor
-The desk lamp was plugged into the socket in its own base (that won't work!)
-The TV was unplugged (after a long day traveling, you don't want to fiddle with a mess of wires behind a desk and wall unit)
-The internet was slower thann dial-up
-There was a weird chlorine-y smell in my room and the hallway

The troubles here were made worse by my stay at the newer, nicer Courtyard in Ft. Myers the next night.

I have stayed at a few more Courtyards since then and they have all been great experiences.

Have stayed here a handful of times and each experience has been the same, no sleep. The rooms are clean and the front desk is professional, but in every room the AC has been so loud, sleep isn't possible. Last night the AC never turned off to struggle to keep the room cool, plus it was making all sorts of noises. It seems the hotel is old and has been bandaged to look modern.

On the phone, I'm pretty sure they speak English, but didnt understand it. It took 5 minutes to explain I was allergic to feathers and needed them changed out. When I got to my room, I had 2 feather pillows and 3 foam ones. This is pretty representative of what to expect all around. I didnt bother trying to fix the problem because the room phone had a huge buzz to the point that I couldnt communicate to the front desk. I wanted to purchase internet plus but couldnt because they spelled my last name wrong and again, the phone was unusable. The rooms are pretty clean as all new courtyards seem to be. I like the chain. This one is just a bit less friendly than the others. Maybe 2.5 stars but only 2 because I'm still annoyed.

Let me begin by saying Marriott is my hotel chain of choice. My partner is platinum and I know the Marriott's and very much respect the family, their family values and their give back to the community and industry. I also am a fan of the Courtyard.
All that said, this place is terrible and this is my second visit. It's not the usual product, I am not sure if it is the area, the staff or what but a black cloud is over this property. Not as clean, gym was missing water cups, no sanitizing towels. The room not entirely clean. It's the worst Courtyard I have ever been two. I should have remembered from my first visit. There will not be a third.

Based on the pictures I saw online I thought this would be a nice hotel. Unfortunately, the pictures were taken in the remodeled lobby, not the rooms. The air conditioning was not working in my room and the refrigerator was making an awful noise and didn't cool. Worse, the walls are paper thin and there were several small children next door having a scream fest. I won't be visiting this hotel again.

Safe, clean, spacious room & comfortable over night stay.  The security guard on duty very attentive.  The pool & outdoor patio very nice & inviting. Was given a goody bag upon checkin which was an unexpected friendly touch.  Very pleasant overnight stay. Would stay again when visiting Tampa.

I love this hotel. The rooms are always clean. The beds are comfortable and the sheets always smell clean. Refrigerator in the room. The Bistro downstairs is delicious.

Courtyard by Marriott is the typical brand I stay at while traveling for work, as I enjoy the predictability. This location is quite terrible, and far off from what I always expect of a CYM.

-There is no wall unit to control the A/C, you have to manually set it by the window unit.
-Parking lot lights don't shine downward, they shine directly towards your window. Not an issue if you always use the blackout curtains, but I prefer leaving it slightly open to wake up with the sun. The lights prevent me from doing this
-Front desk gave me a non working key when checking in
-Rooms along the backside are directly against the I-275. The overnight construction could be heard all night long

Overall I was highly disappointed with this Courtyard.

Newly renovated hotel. Super clean. It was probably the cleanest hotel I've been too. The room is smaller than most places, but it's nice and cozy. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Paul mitchell products. Extremely convenient located surrounded by a lot of restaurants and malls and is off the interstate. It is located in the middle of everything. The only thing they could fix up is the elevator. Bit old and slow. Didn't fit in with the new renovated look. My room was next to the staff's supply closet. It got a bit noisy in the morning times. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.

Quick look: Clean and comfortable as expected with this popular chain owned by Marriott. The real winner at this location is the helpful and welcoming staff / management.

In depth review: Had a one night stay in Tampa before heading out the next day to visit family in Madeira Beach. We got off our plane and collected our luggage, I called the hotel and requested the complimentary shuttle service. The driver appeared within 15 minutes and the driver was very friendly and helpful. Wish I caught his name but he was a longtime Tampa resident (wore glasses) and pointed out the notable landmarks we passed on the short trip back to the hotel. The shuttle driver said the vehicle was available until 11pm and that he would happily take us to dinner at the nearby mall, said to just come down to the lobby when we were ready to go.

The lady at the check-in desk was very friendly and was expecting us. Took me maybe 3 minutes to collect the keys and be off to the room.  Room was modern and clean. Very comfortable, had a balcony that overlooked the busy 275 freeway (oh well). Note: you cannot hear the highway when the sliding glass door is closed.

When we came down about 90 minutes after checking in we were told that the driver had just stepped out for his dinner break. The front desk manager named James was apologetic and offered to call us a taxi cab. After hearing that a cab would take up to 30 minutes and we would not make our dinner reservation, James offered to take us to the restaurant. We accepted his kind offer. James was a total stranger and went out of his way to make sure my wife and I made it to dinner on time, this is true hospitality. James seemed to know everyone including guests checking in and people at our restaurant. This guy is a true asset to this company and we thank him for stepping up like that!

Later that night the original shuttle driver picked us up after our meal and returned us to the hotel.

Removed a star as the room had a few issues that should be addressed like: weak water pressure and a jumpy cable television picture.

The next day we were able to check out quickly, grab a Starbucks coffee at the Bistro in the lobby and be off. Some great people working at this Courtyard by Marriott and I am happy to recommend them and return on our next visit to Tampa.

Hotel was nice.  There was a long line at check-in, but it went very quickly because the manager came out and actually checked us in from her office.  After check-in she showed us to the elevators and told us about breakfast and other amenities offered by the hotel.  Lobby was very modern and had a comfortable feel (very similar to all Marriots).
Room was clean and very comfortable.
Pool area was also nice and relaxing.
    Starbucks in lobby.
The only negative was that the hotel does not offer a complimentary breakfast.  The restaurant in the lobby is quite expensive, but the food is good.

I would recommend this hotel if in the area.  Convenient access to the highway and not that far from great restaurants and attractions.

Good place to stay and right by the airport. Nice bed and good staff. If you have an early flight this is the place for you. The lobby is very nice and good place to have work meetings during your stay.

Bottom Line: Super friendly staff but dated interior and road noise will keep me from staying here again.

I am a frequent business travel and I stay at Courtyards a lot.  The best part of my experience here was the very friendly man who checked me in and offered me a complimentary bottle of water.  Unfortunately, many aspects of my stay here were disappointing as follows:
    * I arrived late and had to park in the back of the hotel.  That meant a dark and long walk through the parking lot to the front door.  I did get passed by a Security guy in a golf cart so that was reassuring but I really wish he could have offered me a ride.  Marriot, get that man a new golf cart so he can seat some passengers in there!  I most definitely tip for service like that!
    * My room was on the first floor so while it was nice to bypass the elevator, I wasn't a super big fan of the ground floor sliding glass door.  As a young(ish) female traveling alone, a ground floor room wasn't ideal.  I was too tired to request a new room.
    * The room was kinda dated.  Dated tile in the bathroom surrounding a square-ish toilet.  Very 1990s, or something.
    * The final nail in the coffin when was I went to make sure I had shampoo and conditioner since I forgot mine.  Yes, a bottle of each, so I grabbed them and got in the shower.  As I prepare to shampoo my greasy head, I realized that both bottle were conditioner!  Ack, in a pinch I used later from a bar of soap to shampoo my hair.  I think I had a bad hair day for my business meeting that followed so hopefully my brain power made up for it.

Some things I did appreciate about my stay here are as follows:
    * Clean, all-white (bleach friendly) bed
    * Comfy bed
    * Decent sized King-bed room
    * TV nice and close to the bed so I could see it
    * Little night light on the alarm clock
    * Option to grab a quick bite at the Bistro

I really enjoy the new Courtyard brand -- overall, I think they are really stepping it up. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the temperature was comfortable, and the shuttle to the airport was timely with a great driver. Good return for the price (especially compared to other hotels in the area), and a good, safe, clean place to stay.
