I think it's a good place.  I have stayed at some of the other hotels in Tampa area.  This DoubleTree has a nice breakfast and a nice manager's reception at night (for Hilton HHonors members).  The front desk staff are nice.   It's not the newest hotel, but the very good breakfast and manager's reception (w Jimmy the bartender) more than make up for it.   The business center is adequate and the wifi is good and reliable, too.

stayed here for 1 night while on a road trip from memphis to miami. it was not expensive (80 dollars; although im surprised to read you can get it even cheaper!). the lady at the front desk was very friendly and we got warm chocolate cookies. pleasantly surprised by this she gave us 2 more (a nice breakfast, as that was unfortunately not included in our stay).
the fitness center was very good, with many treadmills, 2 bikes and weights. and the pool!! i loved the pool! although the shape was a bit weird for laps, we did so anyways as there was nobody else..
the room was too hot for our taste, but then we found this weird note on the AC it could not be put lower than 71F. luckily we discovered how to shut it off entirely, as the noise was horrible. we were here in december so that was fine (cant imagine how it will be when its really hot and you need that noisy thing).
the room was neat and clean, the bed a little too soft for me, but everything had this luxurious feel. we had internet for free, although it was a little slow.
i do think this hotel was in the middle of nowhere. we arrived when it was dark and had no clue where we were. but a quick drive to the city so it was fine...
would stay here again!

I've stayed here on a couple of occasions while on business trips to Tampa so here's the skinny: if you want to be close to downtown this is not the place for you. If you are sleeping in a hotel and are on a restricted budget or traveling for business not so bad.

The Double Tree gives cookies when you check in.   Any place that gives me cookies will get an extra star. {pause while I add a star}

There were two weddings going on here the night we checked in, so parking was rough.  But it was entertaining watching all the drunk bridesmaids when we came back from dinner at about 11:30 pm (we were still on Pacific Time).

The room was satisfactory and clean, although it was close to the highway.

I stayed here once before when I was in Tampa for a friend's wedding and I would stay here again, if I was just looking for a place to sleep.

I stayed here for business last week and found everyone on site to be incredibly friendly and personable. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it wasn't loud so I was able to sleep well. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to coworkers who are traveling down to Tampa.

Stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip.  The property is kind of old, but has been renovated and is very comfortable.  I would have rated the property 2 Stars, but the items highlighted with the asterisk (*) below pushed it up to 3 Stars.

Here's what I LIKED:
- *Soft, pillow top beds.

- Comfortable pillows.

- *Player's Sports Pub in the lobby was a great place to eat.

- The fresh cookies.

- The reasonable prices for the sundries....not great, but they aren't too high priced.

- The linens were soft & fresh.  Bathroom linens were comfortable.

- The service at the front desk & the lounge was exceptional.....good people with great personality.

Here's what I DIDN'T LIKE:
- The Air Conditioner unit was very loud.  If you raised the volume on the TV to overcome the noise it was all of a sudden too loud when the AC shut off....maddening.

- The parking was atrocious.....finding a spot in the lot was impossible.  The parking garage had plenty of spaces, but guess what??  No elevators!  Have you ever tried walking down 3 flights of stairs with all of your luggage in the Florida heat/humidity?  This one thing alone really pissed me off.

- High Speed internet was FREE in the lounge, but you had to pay in your room.  Nonsense.

- Small bathroom.

Will I return?  I'm on the fence with this......it depends on my other options.  Definitely way better than the La Quinta I stayed at the last trip to Tampa.

This is a hotel close to Tampa Airport.  I believe it only took 5 mins driving. The establishment is clean inside. The have many amenities - pool, gym, business room.  

I stayed two nights, traveling on a business to the Tampa, Florida area.

Pros :
Very Spacious and clean rooms
Flat screen TV
Comfortable Queen-size bed
Nice bathroom

Internet speed - EXTREMELY SLOW!
A/C noisy
Parking Lot - no security (states "park at your own risk") no valet (although states valet parking)
Staff needs training (truly hit & miss)

In conclusion, will not be the first choice of stay on my next business trip to Tampa, FL.

This hotel gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling.  The lobby area has a good amount of room beyond the front desk with many chairs and couches.  I always saw people down there.  

The sports pub they have is by far the best hotel bar I have been to.  They have Georgia Bulldog fans filling up the place on Saturday, and Philadelphia Eagles fans on Sundays.  The fact they have these large groups of people religiously coming in every week is a good sign.  The fact they were Eagles and Bulldog fans?  Not so much :-P

The staff was always friendly and helpful.  I had a 15 minute conversation with the nice gift shop lady.

We were there in November, so if you want some sun on the pool you would have to get there before noon.  By then, the sun drops behind the tower which was kind of disappointing but hey, it was November, not July so no biggie.

The beds were large and extremely soft.  I like a firmer mattress but when it feels like you're sleeping on clouds it doesn't matter anymore.

They have a large parking garage directly next to the hotel.  There were always spots available.

Its located right in the middle of everything we wanted to do.  The stadium was just a few miles down a nearby street.  This is a really great place to stay.

The only thing that save this hotel from a 1 star review were its employees. They were all wonderful, save one that I'll get to in a moment. At first everything seemed nice. The shuttle driver that picked us up at the airport was super nice and helpful. He checked us in at the valet stand (we are flight crew so we do that sometimes). When I got to my room at first I immediately left to go to the local mall. I was in the room for maybe 10 mins and I noticed a slight smoke smell. Not cigarettes, but fire smoke. I figured it was something from outside and didn't think much of it. When I came back about 3 hours later. I was just about to get settled in and sleep. But the smoke smell was stronger than before and as I sat there my nose started to burn. I decided I couldn't sleep there and called the desk to ask for a different room. The lady that answered transferred me to the front desk. The lady that answered there was helpful, however in the middle of our conversation she stops talking to me and starts talking to, I assume, her coworker next to her. She was telling her how  some lady had made her mad and she didn't want to deal with her any more and she was over it that night. She never told me to hang on or anything, which I found more funny and amusing than anything. Finally she told me they had a room I could move to. I get to the new room, which had a much less strong smoke smell. Got into bed and enjoyed listening to the outdoor noise and hallway noise. The place was loud. The next morning I awoke and started to make some coffee. Red light comes on, I hear coffee maker noises, I go about my morning routine. I come back maybe 5 mins later, no coffee. Odd, I thought and pushed the start button again. So thing, red light, noise, but no coffee. I pull out the cup and on the pod (I always stick the 2nd pod in my cup for stronger coffee) was this nasty looking white slime. EWW! I pull out the actually filer area and there is more white slim! I look in the water chamber and mold (i am guessing) is floating on the water! EWW EWW EWW! And the smell, oh my, give me the smoke smell any day. I was so gross. I reported this to the front desk and they gave me a free coffee so again, great people, terrible rooms. The rooms are just old and showing it. The bedspread in the 2nd room had a big streak of dried paint on it too. My coworker also had a weird room, she had no bath towels. Unfortunately she discovered this upon exiting the shower and had to use a wash cloth to dry off with. It sounds like this place needs some looking into and help.

Stayed overnight prior to flying out of Tampa back home to California. I booked through Priceline the day before and got this hotel for a cool $45 bucks. I liked not having to pay for parking and did not lack in finding a parking space nearest the front desk.

Checking and with Clerenda was a breeze. She was friendly, courteous and efficiently fast. My room was on the 5th floor facing the street and had a balcony window, nice comfy bed, fridge, and flat screen TV. I liked having a balcony window with a sliding door, as I was able to open it and have a nice breeze. In the evening, Gerard provided me with awesome recommendations for local Cuban food (Arco-Iris, the Florida Bakery and La Teresita). Thank you Gerard! The employees here seem happy and quick to accomodate. The hotel is less than ten minutes from TPA.

To sum it up, I had a perfectly fine stay and my room was clean, efficient and comfortable - clean and newly installed carpet in the room. Bedding was clean, accomodating and extremely comfortable. Printing boarding passes was easy and free. If you are without your laptop or tablet, this hotel lets you use one of six computers in their business center free of charge! I was happy here and would stay again.

Room Tip: I went to Priceline and selected a 3 1/2 star hotel nearest the Tampa airport region and plugged in $40-$45 and got the price I bargained for.

We recently have our monthly meeting here and I have to say that the staff was very friendly and did their best to serve us the best possible way even having problems with some delays in the Kitchen. The Hotel is just a hotel with a good location an serves well for the purposes of our meetings of 100 members. I will recommend to have an event here. The quality of the food was great.

I've stayed here about 5 times over the last year.  My girlfriend and I love it, especially at $40 a night with Priceline's name your own price.  They almost accept $40.

We love the mattress and bedding of the Doubletree hotel brands, it sleeps superbly well.
Another great plus is the ability to hook our Xbox 360 to the TV and watch our videos that we have saved.

We've had a few issues with rather rude members of staff but also have had a few go above and beyond, so it's really hit or miss.

Bed!  It's a great pleasure sleeping on these mattresses

To elaborate on the negatives, the first one is parking.  It's really horrendous and the side parking garage is difficult as there aren't elevators.  Come on a busy weekend, you'll be pressed to find a spot.

Internet is $12 for 24 hrs and you barely pull .5 Mbps.  And if you have several devices, it's a per device charge although if you do ask the front desk they might be willing to remove additional charges per day.  But honestly, I'd rather surf from my room than the free wifi in the lobby and the charge still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.  Although there is a business center with several computers for use.

Getting into the Hotel is easy and the location is great with a lot of places within a quick 5 minute drive.  

I'd definitely recommend this hotel.  For the price, it can't be beat.

As a business traveler, this is now one of my favorite hotels in the Tampa area.

Located right near the airport, this hotel may be short on views, but it is chuck full of perks, especially if you are gold level Hilton honors member or higher.  For these members, this Doubletree actually offers a concierge level with nicer rooms, and that offers complementary coffee, tea and filtered water, along with cookies so that you don't have to go back downstairs to get these little treats. Between 5 pm and 7 pm complimentary beer, wine, soft drinks hot food (grilled jumbo shrimp and chicken quesadilas ) along with cheese, crackers, fruit and chips are also put out for people staying at this level.  Since it is free, make sure to go early otherwise it will be gone, well before the 7pm .  

The beds/pillows  in the rooms are very comfortable.  As expected the rooms are also spotless.  

The buffet breakfast is good and has your typical fare, of meats, cheeses, yogurt, eggs, breads and custom made omelets.    Free for gold members.

Stay here if you plan in coming in late from the airport.  It is also a good launching point if you plan on heading points north.

I spent a few nights here this summer. Here's the good and bad.

The good:
Nice big pool and hot tub in lush courtyard.
Multiple restaurants located in hotel all with good food, cheap prices, friendly servers and big portions.
Clean room.
Big, comfy bed.
Flat screen TV.
Neutrogena bath products.

The bad:
No free wifi in rooms. You have to go down to the lobby for free wifi.
Loud air conditioners ruin the relaxing atmosphere pool side.
Big hotel with confusing layout. good luck finding the door you parked outside or the right elevator.
Lazy housekeeping I put the do not disturb size up early one morning and took it down before noon. The room was never made up.

We recently switched to this layover hotel from the Grand Hyatt.  It is truly a step down from the GH.  It is perfectly acceptable & I had no problem with my room or staff.  However the pool here is a joke.  It is squeezed into a tiny courtyard area with very few chairs.  The gym has the same feeling.  While I appreciate that they want to give us the amount of machines to workout on that they do, I would also love it if they took out one eliptical & one treadmill to give us a little more elbow room.  Weird configuration on the gym has you shoeboxed into one end in a corner. :(

Fantastic hotel! Very affordable for a young couple traveling for the first time! They begin your stay by giving you an absolutely delectable homemade cookie. The staff was friendly, funny and very helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. They have a beautiful outdoor pool that you HAVE to take a dip in! This will definitely be my hotel of choice whenever I come to Tampa!

It is just a hotel, nothing spectacular about it. Didn't know much about the area when we booked the hotel, not close to anything we planned on doing (our fault for not checking ahead). There is a mall close by, but the Brandon Mall is better, and cleaner. The room had two beds, and a place for a couch but it had obviously been moved out, so just an awkward open space in the room. Bathroom wasn't cleaned well before us, hairs on floor and shower. There was a space in the cabinet for a small fridge, but there was none. The bathroom was tiny!!! Impossible to move around and get ready for a family of four. The parking was terrible, top of the parking garage, and crowded hotel lobby because they had a fighting event one night in the ballroom. We won't be visiting again. It wasn't for us. If you need a place to sleep while you have a layover probably just fine- family vacations, go somewhere else.

I stayed here a number of times when I came to town for business. The highlight was the polite and fun staff at breakfast. After one week they recognized me, and even after being gone for three weeks over the holidays, they remembered who I was. It was a great personal touch.

The hotel is nice and clean, with a pool in the middle. But the biggest drawback is the hotel back the highway, so most of the rooms hear the roar of it through the windows. It was really distracting for me and tough to sleep, to the point that I bought earplugs my first week there and brought them every time I came back.

Parking in the garage or lot here is free, which is a definite advantage over the Embassy Suites around the corner, but not enough to make up the price difference between the two.

If you can get a room away from the highway, it's four stars, but most rooms have a hard time ignoring the sounds of 275, so I have to give it three.

First, must make a point of saying the staff at this hotel are extremely thoughtful and nice.  From the front desk to the housekeeper to the maintenance man I met in the elevator, I was impressed that everyone was so kind on a consistent basis over the three days I was at this hotel.

The rooms are fine.  I had a noisy room next to the ice maker, so they moved me to a room that was fine.  Didn't dine at the hotel, so can't speak to this.  But the location was good right next to I-275 and five minutes from a few of the top malls.  Just make sure you get an inside room -- if you ask for one that overlooks the pool, you should be okay.  Otherwise, you might get a room on either side of the hotel that are both on busy roadways, one of which is I-275.

The parking garage was strange.  Four stories, stairs, but no elevator.  So you pull your rolling luggage down four ramps as cars come up.  I didn't mind the exercise, but when I was leaving, I ran into an older couple who were trying to drag their luggage down the stairs.  Just crazy.  I'm not sure how they can have this without an elevator, but I guess they can.

Overall, okay hotel.  Nothing fancy, but if the price is right, worth checking out.  Again, just make sure you get an inside room overlooking the pool.

Stayed here for Hunahpu day last year because of the complimentary shuttle service and we knew we would be drinking a lot of beer. When we got down stairs to get on the shuttle they told us to wait for the next shuttle because they were going to the airport. We offered to let them drop us off last and they said it wasn't possible. When the next shuttle arrived they told us the same thing. When I asked the concierge desk why they wouldn't transport us they said that airline travelers have priority. So we would have to wait until there were no more airline travelers( we didn't see that happening since it's very close to the airport). Other than that the hotel was ok at best. Would not recommend.

Well, long story sort, I am a business traveler and have not seen a dirtier place than this hotel. I stayed for three nights in a 2 queen bed room and noticed that both the bed skirts had nasty stains on them.  I brought this up to the attention of staff manager.  She apologized and promised to have the cleaning people change the skirts.  I left the dirty skirts on the floor.  The next day, the cleaning staff put back the exact same dirty skirts on one bed and put the other dirty one on my clean clothes that I had left on the other bed.  I sent a note with pictures to the same lady and CC'd the general manager of the hotel.  I am waiting to see if they will even care to followup !!

Hilton spends Millions of dollars to create an image for themselves but these types of carelessness ruins their image.

To be fair, the front desk staff is very friendly and the breakfast is really good.

Nothing wrong with this hotel at all. Although the decor is a bit boring and standard (nothing special or interesting), the rooms are comfortable.
The staff is so nice. Everyone. Front desk, van drivers, restaurant, everyone.
Wonderful breakfast buffet with hot food as well as the freshest fruit selection I have seen across the country.
The pool is small but nice.
The fitness center, also small but well equipped.
Two thumbs up for business travel and priced well!
Love me some Hilton...

This is my second time to the Hilton Doubletree Airport westshore. Very attentive staff, comfortable beds and a great breakfast. It is also right next to Charleys, one of the best steaks you can get in the entire country. Room was clean and the towels were very soft. Only place I stay in Tampa.

Attended a three day competition. Chose location to support the host of the venue. I am a diamond member at CHOICE & could have stayed at any of their locations for less and got much more.  
Some points:  No Fridge in room, No microwave in room.  Very small king room I upgraded to??  for poolside.  Hott ub/spa was full of kids all day and no one monitors this so it was a waste.  NOTE: HOT TUB RUNS CONTINUOUS so children can get overheated.  All pool areas locked after ten pm. Kids there till after nine??
Vending machine on floor $2 soda. One diet choice empty.  Soda at front desk pan-tree $3.00.  Breakfast Buffet $17.00 per person.  (Empty and hotel near capacity for event).  

Room was clean. and beds made if you let them.

Spaces used for our shows smelled musty, and allergies not helpful for singers.

WiFi is a PAIN in the ^%^ as it shuts down and requires you to go through Hilton honors pathway to Doubltree then only IE can find place for password.

Lobby Beautiful and confusing for this old man.

This is a solid hotel.

Pros:  Convenient to the airport and the Tampa Yankees, comfortable rooms, Players is a good pub, room service staff is very quick and friendly, shares a parking lot with a decent restaurant (Charley's).

Cons: The breakfast is overpriced (but that's true at most hotels), the wi-fi was unreliable for me (although my husband did not have a problem so maybe it was me), and most annoyingly they got our bill very wrong and we had to waste time in the morning correcting it.  At least they corrected it though.

The worse major hotel in Tampa. Expect to park in a parking garage with no elavator and try to carry your luggage down the stairs. Walking to your room in an un-airconditioned hallway with stained carpet and very humid. You will finding your room with 4 packs of Decaf coffee, no regular coffee, no alarm clock and a very dimmly lit room. Bathroom is well lit.
Breakfast buffett is $18 for overcooked scrambled eggs, very soggy bacon and rock hard biscuits. Did I mention the hotel is right on the interstate and you can hear the 18 wheel trucks all night long? Since this is a company preferred hotel, I always wait to the last minute to book my room hoping it is full (seldom is) so I can stay at one of the Marriott properties close by or the Holiday Inn Express. This is my 9th year to stay at this property at least once a month. Everything about this place is bad but the location.

We checked in here at midnight, front desk manager was really nice.. Greeted us well on arrival and checkin process was fast although we didn't had reservation. Room was clean and spacious with nice view balcony !
Fitness center, pool n spa were well maintained. I would visit here again and recommend to others !!!

I just ended a 4 day stay at the hotel.  It was a very pleasant experience overall.
First, let me give the downsides, which are few:
the shuttle- when I called the hotel after I landed, I was told it would be 15 min.  20 min later still waiting.  Called and was told there is a lot of traffic so they should be there shortly.  After calling a 3rd time, they said they are right there.  And they were- 60 min late.
The only other downside was the only restaurant was the sports bar, "Players".  Limited menu and only so-so in taste.  Everything else was fantastic!  From the helpful, courteous staff, housekeeping to management; to the warm chocolate chip cookie and flavored pitchers of ice water greeting me upon check-in.  
My room was clean and large.  Especially the bathroon.  Large vanity.  Shower had unlimited hot water and adjustible shower head.  Fluffy towels.  The beds soft and comfy.  My closet door did stick badly and was hard to close.
Other than that, thoroughly satisfied.  Definitely will be back!

My husband and I were attending a Sunday night Tampadelphians event at Players Sports Bar inside the Doubletree and decided to stay over because they offered such a great rate; $79.

We have stayed in plenty of Doubletrees and this one was the exception, and not in a good way.

We were greeted quickly and by a friendly front desk clerk. As we traveled to the Hilton Honors Floor (5th?) we noticed garbage speckled throughout the hall way. Also, the carpet was filthy with stains. Filty carpet and broken tiles in the elevator, too.

Our room was clean and comfortable.

We received a very nice complimentary breakfast in the morning, making the rate even better.

There seem to be many meeting places throughout the hotel and most areas were clean and welcoming, but I am still put off by the carpeting and tiles. Confuzzling indeed!

Are there any -5 stars available????  I did not make the reservation for this trip, as it was a high volume conference time and the sponsor was trying to make reservations for the team.  Had I booked and reserved, I would have known the nightmare story in store for me because I would have looked up reviews. I didn't think twice - its a Double Tree Hilton, near the airport, notorious for top notch service + COOKIES!!!! Even if the hotel is tired and has stories to tell.  

This one has seen more than one story, and it "ain't pretty" - ripped carpeting in the hallway on the first floor, managers that don't answer phones or return calls and all sorts of niceties (NOT).  GROSS... I was booked a Jr Suite that I never got, which I noticed when I got to the room sat down to tinkle and saw the TUB... EW! Contacted the daytime manager who wanted to get into a pissing contest with me over the "policy" "Just because you booked it, not guaranteed you get it" - I cut her off, as I proceeded to explain I walked into a room with a dripping tub that had water over the side and on the floor and full ankle deep... She was about to get confrontational and hint perhaps I had done that to get the suite, when I alerted her I took a picture and was ready to hit "tweet".   She asked me of course, not to.  I rushed to my first meeting and they would move me to another room and offered some frequent stay points.

I return to meet a FANTASTIC NIGHT TIME MANAGER - EBERLE who had the notes and personally walked me to my new room to make sure everything had been moved and I was ok.  Personal, Professional, Attentive - everything you want in a Hilton Manager, even if the hotel is so worn down it makes your skin crawl - seriously.

Day 2 - rush out to work w/out bfast, and return at noon for a change, only to find out that the commode had not flushed from the am...  I tried dumping water in it, tried to flush and the thing was so tired, it sighed and went back to sleep with leftover contents of the morning (major red cheek moment...).  Call manager, who sent an engineer as I rushed out the door for my second phase of meetings.  

As we return at 7 pm ish, business companion decides we would return the rental as we had a 5 am flight out.  At this point, Im sure murphy will take over and tell him I want to speak w/manager about the toilet and make sure we have a guarantee ride in the am.  Dont care if its an elephant, just want to make SURE.  With everything going wrong I did not want to risk missing my flight home on a long weekend and getting stuck at this "low motel want to be"... I approach the desk and ask the young gentleman for a manager (Ren was at the desk, poor thing looks down at some notes so he know Im the unhappy camper from tired toilet room 984).  Up BARGES this woman, who was unkept, unprofessional looking and with the attitude of ready for a bar fight - really classy (NOT!!!!).  We asked "are you a manager?" (GASP! COULD SHE POSSIBLY BE?) and she said Yes, and proceeded to explain AGAIN the shuttle policy. "You don't understand, I have had enough issues, I want to make SURE I don't get stuck if I miss the 3 am shuttle - 330 would be cutting it close" as she proceeds AGAIN to explain the policy, she stated "IF thats the case EBERLY HIMSELF WILL LEAVE THE DESK AND DRIVE YOU"... By now, my business partner and I have jaws on the floor, and the front desk staff has "deer in headlights" look.  

I go upstairs, and guess what - THE TOILET IS STILL NOT FLUSHING!!! I tried the wiggle and jiggle, lift the lid, jiggle the chain, dump water in the toilet and after 3 flushes - TADA!!! bye bye toilet paper.  I proceed to call the manager... who NEVER PICKED UP THE PHONE!  DONE - time to tweet and tweet and tweet.  I should have taken video of the non flushing toilet (no people, no human waste, just sanitary paper to test it so it would have not been a utube production) and posted it.  I called HH and a very SHOCKED Siemone, did yoga poses to get me to calm down.  Suffice to say, Hilton still has to work on getting me happy.  But Eberly did speak with me in the morning and got me to the airport, as he picked his jaw up when I told him his desk manager Shoany was a waste of time - come to find out SHE ISNT A MANAGER!!!!!!  There was a Senior Citizen convention at the hotel, and I PRAY they don't trip on the rip carpets or slip in the tired tubs. If this is their last hotel visit in their lifetime - it breaks my heart.  ID LOVE TO SEE PARIS HILTON SHOW UP UNANNOUNCED TO SEE WHAT THIS PLACE DOES TO HER FAMILY NAME.  I hate giving bad reviews, but this Double Tree, for its tired and not working plumbing, very dirty carpets and ripped carpets, old and tired rooms, and absolutely TERRIBLE Daytime Managers, deserves a -5 in my frequent traveling book.  I hate giving bad reviews....

I will start with the good - i picked this place because it was close to the airport and walking distance to one of our offices. I liked the free cookies i got during check in and that they accommodated my very late arrival.

the bad ... parking was tough, but I suppose its that way in this general area. I got a room on the 2nd floor but getting there was a bit of a maze. The room was ok, it was good enough for resting for the night. The bed didnt work for me though, the sheets didnt look clean, some very noticeable stains - so I slept on the other bed. I dont expect much especially for a business trip, the breakfast was mediocre and a bit pricey for my liking. I will likely pick another place for my future trips to Tampa.

Out of laziness I decided to give this place another chance, only checked in 2 hours ago and already regret it. They first tried to put me in a room in a distant corner of the building, down an endless hallway that smelled funky (maybe weed, maybe dirty socks, it's hard to say) and had fast food wrappers scattered all over the floor. Nasty! I asked to be moved. My new room's balcony has a view of a wall, the balcony floor is grimy, and the vending machine on my new floor is broken, just like the ones on my floor during my last stay. Heating doesn't appear to be working. If I were paying $60 per night, this would all be expected, but at almost $200, come on! What a dump.

Pretty standard Hilton property.  Located on Cypress next to a string of hotels, this location is convenient to the airport and seems to be popular for meetings and conferences.  I would not go out of my way to stay here, but if you have stayed at a Doubletree property before, you won't be disappointed.

Ive stayed here several times I've never had a bad experience although this time they put me in a different building normally I stay in the middle building in the 10th floor or up the rooms that are on the sides and not in the middle building are older and they're not as up to date as the ones in the middle building on the higher floors so I'm a bit disappointed with that other than that staff is very nice and the food is good

This place is depressing.  The day shift staff are anything but hospitable. The concierge doesn't even smile & can't make it more blatantly obvious that they don't want to be here.  You minds as well replace them with robots. There's kids running around for hours outside your room till 11pm like it's a elementary school cafeteria.  The carpets are really worn, dirty & stained in the room. There were ants in the bathroom.  Every part of this building including my room, has a funny smell.  I was stuck here because my apartment paid for a room while we were being fumigated - I will never stay here by choice.  

I don't need a response to this review, I just hope you take initiative to improve.  A hotel is supposed to be an oasis away from home, a place to rest from your travels.  This, appeals to none of that.

We were there early and tried to get early check in but they were booked. About two hours later- they got us into our room which was nice. Got free cookies too.
The room: there was one full size bed in the room. It was obvious that this room use to be a double bedroom. There was this huge space by the window where the bed was. We had a share the small full size bed. Not fun. There was not a refrigerator in the room. We only stayed here one night so it did its job. Probably would not stay here again.
They offer complimentary use of computers and printers but the printer was out of ink.
Free Parking.

This hotel provides a 4 story parking structure that has NO elevator....imagine carrying all your bags UP/down ramp after ramp or the stairwell. There was a living cockroach in room, Maids yelling down the hall (4th floor) to one another at 10:35pm, Desk agent (was less than professional & quite miserable) advised parking in Handicap spot to avoid parking structure walk-up/down, albeit I'm am not handicapped.. Agent could not locate me as a Hilton reward member,

While the lobby looked nice and the room was clean, I had issues with I275.  The room that I was given was on the forth floor in the back of the hotel along the I275.  I did not think much about it when I went to bed, but the traffic picked up about 3:30 in the morning and woke me up.  Now, this was a work trip and early rise was expected, but I was at work before 6AM!  As a general rule, I would classify this as a 2 start hotel, but the handle to the hot water at the sink came off in my hand and the tub would not drain until i unscrewed the stopper and removed it from the tub drain.  

I also had co-workers at the same hotel.  They were both on the first floor.  Both of them mentioned that the tub would not drain when they took a shower.

At a guess, I would project that you will have a room without issues about 25% of the time.  If you go there, choose a floor above the first, and ensure that you do not have a window facing the interstate.

This is the 3rd time I've stayed here for work and it's been very consistent with the good and the bad. First the good, the staff is very friendly accommodating and helpful. And the court yard pool is nice giving a great Florida feel. Try for an even numbered room and you'll have a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Now the bad, the rooms have a musty dirty smell and an overall grimy feel. Also the A/C in both the rooms and the fitness center are inadequate. Overall I wouldn't choose this hotel for personal travel.

Accidently landed here via hotwire.   The staff was very nice, as is the staff at most doubletree hotels, they are the reason for my two stars.  The facility itself is zero stars, there just aren't enough warm chocolate chip cookies to make this place right ...    old building, add-on after add-on result in a labarynth like network of hallways and 4 floor parking structures with no elevators. They would be much better served to knock it down and rebuild.  Tampa is evolving,  you have way better properties for the price.

Not your typical Doubletree. Below Doubletree standards. Find another hotel.

Customer Service: Terrible. I wanted to get my points registered as an HH member and doing so the associate made me feel unwelcome and as if I was an inconvenience. This is the first that I've come across. In general, hotels usually treat members at their best because their loyalty. It is nothing new and is expected that members want their points and status recognized.

Pool: Decent sized pool. Small yet big enough to swim laps.
1. Depth: 3 ft - 5 ft
2. Aquatic Chair: 1
3. Jacuzzi: 1 average sized jacuzzi.

Gym: Small and crammed gym. One equipment is inoperable.
1. Cardio Machines: 2 ellipticals, 4 treadmills, 2 bikes.
2. Weights: Average range of free weights, full body machines (1 inoperable), 2 adjustable gym chairs.
3. Extra Equipment: 1 bosu ball, 3 medicine balls, 1 TV, 1 angled back machine, and mirrors in front of free weights.

Overall I would not recommend. This was not to Doubletree standard and I was extremely disappointed.

I've stayed here 4 times in the last 7 months and I have to say it is consistently one of the best values around.
Being in season hotel prices in Florida are crazy, but this property is always the same price as the lower branded hotels, not sure how they do it but they do.
The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the rooms clean and the fitness center is one of the best around. Situated near the airport, shopping and restaurants their location couldn't be any better.

We were in Tampa for a cruise, so we need a hotel for a one night stay.  The Airport shuttle was primary reason we select this hotel and that it was a Hilton property, which normally have a consistent products.   Some of the cruise forums suggested a Best Western cruise port shuttle package, but I was concern about the hotel reviews.

So, the shuttle was within 10 minutes of calling.  The hotel to the airport was 5-10 minutes - surprised by the traffic volume.  I was surprised by the size of the hotel, it had many more rooms than a typical Doubletree,  It is an older property and there were signs of renovations/repairs - they were painting the outside lobby.

The hotel seem busy, but I couldn't tell how many people were staying at the hotel - the pool and hot tub were being used but they weren't crowd.

They have a good sized exercise room and every inside court room has a balcony looking over the pool, but its not enclosed = which was nice in the morning, in January.

The hotel has a sports bar - which ok, but not worth the value. We had breakfast buffet  and it was quite good - they have an extensive selection - with many fresh fruits options.

We did walk around the area a bit, but there was really nothing to report on, except a big high school across the street.

We took a taxi to the Cruise port for less than $20 - less than 15 minutes.

That's about it.

Check-in was fast, but there didn't seem to be any King size rooms available...so I had to make do with 2 queens for my fiancee and myself.

The rooms are so old. Tiny bathrooms. No safe or fridge. Overall a dirty-feeling hotel. Just, ick.

For one or two nights, it's fine...anything beyond that is pushing it.

BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do NOT STAY HERE!!! I was a guest this past weekend and left with TERRIBLE BED BUG BITES!!!! More than a week later I am still recovering. I have stayed at many hotels and have never experienced anything like this before. Upon googling and doing my research and doctors visits I found out I had been bitten multiple times by bed bugs!

Hall way smelled like terrible body odor and bed had blood stains on it.... Signs that the hotel has bed bugs.

The hotel is close to the airport, the man at the front desk was extremely helpful, the price was great..... But I honestly would give all of that up if it meant I didn't have to deal with the terrible itching and burning I am experiencing from these bites!!!!

I am an avid believer in customer reviews/ratings and surveys. When credit is due I make sure that I provide my honest feedback. I have never in my life been so disappointed of any service. Regardless of the field, whether it be food, personal, business, etc. this is the most disappointed I have ever been. Not only have I been physically suffering from the bites, I also need to do damage control because of my luggage/clothing that I brought back. If worst comes to worst, if did bring back the infestation to my home, I will have to hire an exterminator. EXTREMELY UPSET!!

I found this hotel to be very convenient near the Tampa Airport. It provided a free shuttle to and from the airport. The shuttle also went to two local malls where there were plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars. The van drivers were very friendly. There is also a sports bar on site that is open until 2am each night. It is an older property but I hear they are renovating soon.

The front desk staff really made my stay. They greeted me with a smile and a warm chocolate chip cookie! Once in my room, the young gentleman that checked me in called to see how everything was in my room and asked if I needed anything. I asked him for a few extra towels since I was traveling with my family. The towels arrived to my room no more than 5 minutes later. I then received another call from a different gentleman, I believe he was the Front Office Manager. He wanted to make sure I received the towels in a timely fashion and see if I need anything else. This was a great way to start off a very comfortable stay. Thanks Doubletree!

This hotel was cool. Nothing more, nothing less. Just cool.

The lobby is pretty nice looking. The decor is pretty and as soon as you walk in the front of the hotel, there's a bar area/restaurant that stays open until 1 or 2 in the morning. This part is neat because so often,  I go out of town and want a late night snack and can't find anything because they're either too far (and I don't feel like driving) or everything is closed until 6a.

The room was basic. Nothing spectacular. I have a king size bed at home so sleeping in a queen seemed very small, but hey - we got a nice deal on the room so we made it work. The bed was comfortable. Nothing to rave over. The bathroom was less than appealing but it got the job done. I notice that bathrooms near the ocean just aren't great to me.. I barely ... I don't know. I just can't get with them. The wallpaper is normally old and .. blah.

The hotel was cool. (I'll end this review just like I started..) Nothing spectacular. We happened to get a really good rate but I couldn't dare pay the normal $149+ for this hotel. If you're going to spend that much, there are PLENTY of nicer, more hip hotels in the area.

I stay at this double tree at least once every two months.  I'm a regular at hilton properties throughout the country and a loyal diamond member

The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because of Marcel at the front desk. He is great and always accommodating

As for everything else about this property. Specifically Jahaira who happens to have the personality of a cockroach and all of the other clowns are absolutely the worst front desk experiences I've ever had in all of my travels.   It's painful for them to even try and help a guest.  

The maid service isn't very thorough and even management can't seem to get specific conference room requests correct

I would avoid this hotel at all cost if you're in Tampa.  Try another location

I stayed here for work at the end of February and I like this Hilton. I was given a room with a private balcony, which was an added bonus considering I left home in an ice storm to go to TPA. While it only had a view of the parking lot it was quiet and relaxing after a 14 hour day, just sitting enjoying 70 degree temps.

The room was up to my standards of cleanliness and the gals in housekeeping kept me readily supplied with extra shampoo and conditioner for my longer hair.

The front desk staff were exceptionally pleasant.

The location is perfectly located to easy shopping and dining and the road to St. Pete.

Expect me on my next TPA trip.
