    Enjoyed staying at this Grand Hyatt.  My husband and I stayed were visiting Tampa for my cousin's wedding.  We opted to stay close to the airport because I had a business trip in the midst of the FL trip.  Proximity to airport is great.  Hotel has a nice view of the water.  However, if you are looking for a beach this is not the hotel for you.  Rooms were comfortable and clean.  This is definitely a 4 star hotel.  Staff were pleasant and helpful.  We loved the view from the top floor restaurant.  Food and service in the restaurant were also good.  Not at all stuffy, especially nice given that we were dressed very, very casually.  As someone who plans corporate events, I would say this is a good option if you want attendees captive but to feel as though they are in a nice environment.  The only draw back from event is that the lobby space is small and may make for congested check in.  All in all, deefinitely recommend this hotel for personal stays.

    Fair but tired. Pool was dirty, kids were loud in the restaurant and rooms need a facelift. Bed looked clean but you never know in hotels. Room was spacious but the whole place needs an overhaul. The pool in the back of the resort was boiling hot!

    A pretty great hotel.  It has a tower and then some outlying bungalows.

    Stayed in the tower and all was pretty nice.  The furninshings were great, and the supplied soap, etc. was great.  I thought $5 for a small bottle of water out of the mini-bar was a bit excessive, but I guess that's what you get.

    Was there for the Bar Exam, so never had time for the breakfast.  I understand that you can get a Continental Breakfast voucher at the front desk, or pay $17 for it if you don't.  

    The Internet access is supplied by T-mobile @ $10/day, which really pisses me off.  Internet access should just be an amenity provided by a hotel, and not an additional item.  This is why they get three stars.

    Just checked in, room is clean and view is good. Lobby bar has the worst service ever! Flies flew out of the lime container at the bloody Mary bar, and bartender was beyond rude.... Sorry for making you work. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

    Gorgeous setting and really friendly and helpful staff.  We found the food prices to be really reasonable (the breakfast buffet was something like $14 and was by far the best breakfast buffet we've ever seen).  The drinks are really expensive, but that wasn't surprising.  Minus one star for no free wi-fi and for the $4 bottles of water in the room.  The complimentary champagne upon arrival was a very nice touch!  We would go back, for sure.

    My wife and I ended up staying at the Grand Hyatt Tampa for 1 night as part of our cruise package with Royal Caribbean. There was no communication between the hotel and the cruise line, so we had to call to find out when/where our shuttle would be. After going back and forth between hotel and cruise line, we finally got the information, but almost missed the shuttle! This was ultimately Royal Caribbean's fault, but Hyatt could have offered to call them for us. Next time we will book our own hotel instead of doing it through the cruise line. We could probably find a better deal closer to the pier.

    This hotel is located right on Tampa Bay. The hotel is beautifully decorated. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I didn't have any issues with the amenities in my room. The lounge downstairs was decent. I did find their drinks (crown and coke) on the weak side, but overall I was satisfied with my stay here.

    My husband and I decided to stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel for our honeymoon.  We had tried booking the room in person, but we were sent away with the direction to "book online".  So we used a credit card to book the reservations online two weeks in advance.  We had also specifically requested a room on the concierge floor with a king sized bed and noted that we would be arriving shortly after midnight.  The online system positively confirmed the availability of what we had requested.

    When we arrived at the Hyatt to check in, the employee working at the desk immediately confirmed our reservations including our request for a room with a king sized bed.  After a seemingly endless amount of typing on the hotel's computer, the employee informed us that the only rooms available on the concierge floor had double beds.  

    Under ordinary circumstances, I would have been totally hunky-dory with this situation; probably using the opportunity to snag a couple of complimentary cocktails in the lounge for our "inconvenience".  However, my wedding night was NOT an ordinary circumstance...

    One call to a manager and five minutes later, my new husband and I were led to the Presidential Suite located on the top floor (same floor as Armani's) of the Grand Hyatt.  This suite had a kitchenette, bar, full dining room, sitting room (complete with baby grand piano), living room, office, marble walk-in shower, marble Jacuzzi bathtub, and even a half bath (for guests, I guess).  Every room had a wall-to-wall / floor-to-ceiling view of Tampa Bay.  Almost every room (including the bathrooms) had flat screen TV's, telephones, Bose surround sound system and granite surfaces.  Oh yeah, it also had a lovely king sized bed.  Absolutely lovely...

    On our second night at the Hyatt we figured out why the room we had originality booked hadn't been available: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars that weekend and apparently the Jaguars like king sized beds on the concierge floor, too.

    We had a great time checking out the hotel, pigging out at the complimentary breakfast, and relaxing in the hot tub and pool.  The concierge floor (which we had access to) was great to visit a couple times a day for a complimentary soda or bottle of water with a light snack.  The evening appetizers and cocktails were fantastic, too.  But really, the suite was so kick-ass we rarely wanted to leave it.  We declined room services, preferring to order in pizza and wings instead.  In fact, we were probably the least needy guests that had ever stayed in the Presidential Suite, although the turn down service that we had requested never came to pass on any of the nights that we were there.  We also didn't receive the complementary breakfast the first morning because the desk clerk neglected to give us our vouchers.  

    Checking out also proved to have its own issues since no one told us that we would have to bring the credit card that we had used to reserve the room.  Although the hotel had all the cards information and approval, the desk employee claimed that they had "to physically see" the credit card.  Another call to the manager and suddenly seeing the card was no longer an issue.  

    Aside from the manager's quick response to the potentially ugly situation that first night and the unexpected sumptuousness of the suite, I really wasn't totally impressed with the Grand Hyatt.  It's a beautiful hotel and it has enjoyable amenities, but I felt as though there were one too many issues... mostly with booking, checking in and checking out.  

    At the End of the Day - I may not be as important as a professional football player, but I'm never afraid to ask for the Manager.  I might look like a bitch, but I'm the bitch that ended up sleeping in the Presidential Suite...  How do you like them apples, Mr. Important Football Player?

    Wanted to love it.  Booked a room in the Casitas which was the way to go.  The 300 sq foot room has a small patio that opens out to a grassy area and view of the Bay.  There is no beach.  A "nature board walk" that is not much really.  

    The restaurants are outstanding albiet pricey.  I did have 2 good meals here.  

    The rooms are dated and in need of a facelift.  Also the hotel is not walkable to any services or commercial areas.  You must take a shuttle or cab everywhere.  

    Plus very close to the airport . .  which is also a minus - noise.

    I was on-site to support a corporate meeting that a co-worker planned at this hotel a few weeks ago.  Kendall Arch and her banquet staff could not have done a more beautiful job!  Every request I made was granted, and in record time.  I felt as if our event was their only concern and every single member of their staff went above and beyond.  The A/V department definitely deserves a moment of praise as well, for their flexibility, cooperation and general helpfulness!  I highly recommend utilizing this venue for your next meeting, conference or event!  

    P.S. - The food was impressive and delicious!

    Very nice Hotel,  terrific front desk staff, helpful and pleasant. The only complaint was that our bathroom door made some pretty loud squeaking so at night that was annoying when I used the bathroom, my poor husband!

    Stayed here for a meeting last week. The room was comfy and clean. Nothing to complain about. The room service was also quick and good. The food was delicious for hotel food.

    One warning, when you arrive at the airport call the hotel for pick up. Otherwise you have to take a cab which is a biatch. The hotel is so close the cab drivers don't want to take you and lose their spot in the line for a bigger fare. My ass wipe driver bitched the whole 5 minute drive to the hotel.

    Get a new job if you don't enjoy the one that you have.

    We had a 2 1/2 day corporate conference here in the middle of June. The service was excellent, the facilities were very nice and I was fairly impressed with catering. Great spot for conferences or small conventions. Close to the airpor with a complimentary shuttle and complimentary parking.

    Hyatts don't own $4 bottles of water in the room (most classy hotels charge that) and nearly all the hotels I stay in (note, not motels) has friendly staff saying Hi all the time. It's a polite thing to do and this is one of the many hotels that has it down to a good art form. I especially loved that I was offered a bottle of water (free, mind you) on the van from the airport and again by a nice man in a suit while waiting in the lobby...but  the best part was that he was without a tie. I loved that touch.

    This is a very nice hotel. My short 13 hour stay was wasted on such a nice place. Wonderful artwork on the walls; nice carpet, mini fridges and comfy beds in the rooms; attractive lobby; wonderful setting; and a view of incoming aircraft!

    Why did they lose a star? Well, for one, I shouldn't have to get on the floor under the desk in order to plug in my puter. Why this hotel doesn't have outlets on the desk or built into the desk lamp is a wonder. Also, our pre-arranged van back to the airport was nearly 10 minutes late.

    Very Overrated. You are basically paying triple for some bum to open a door for you. The lobby is aesthetically beautiful, but you can get a lot more for a lot less. Plus here you are far from everything exciting but close to tolls. Did I mention $10/day for wifi?

    We stayed at this hotel in December of 2010 in a Casita King. The Casitas are not as nice as the rooms, but more private and there is a koi pond along them.  When I checked in, there wass no parking for registration, it is all fire lanes and taxi stands. I parked in the fire lane and went to check in. Even though I prepaid 2 months in advance, I had to give them a credit card to check in, and a hold was placed on that card for that full amount. It didn't come off for several days after check out. The man smuggly handed me the keys and told me breakfast was here from 6-10.

    I went to the room, that was far from the closest parking, with all the luggage and found a 12x12 square with a bed in it. There was fake cabinets with no usable drores in them, a small bathroom and a  very small patio that isn't private at all. The first flush overflowed the toilet and flooded the room. The only mirror is so far recessed that you can't shave, etc. Only a single outlet was available in the room and it was by the sink. Bummer.

    The next morning my wife and I went down for breakfast, got our plates of good food (not great but normal) and sat down to eat. Then after we finished we were given a bill for $40 from our supposed waitress for our half plate of food each and OK coffee and bad orange juice - obviously a mix with unfiltered Florida water.

    There is no good news about this place, we stayed in Florida 15 days and this was the most money and tied for the worst hotel. Will never return, just avoid this place.

    This is a beautiful hotel, and with that comes a beautiful (for them) price tag.  But, since I travel so much and stay in a lot of hotels, there are certain things that irk me quite a bit in any hotel, no matter how beautiful it may be.  

    Low water pressure all around, the sink, the toilet, the shower.  The toilet didn't flush very well, and hot water, IF I could get it at all, took a long time to reach my room.

    Housekeeping left garbage in my room, empty cups on the nightstand, coffee wrappers by the coffee maker, and didn't replace soap in the bathroom.

    Lastly, the parking structure was a complete afterthought.  Maybe this was built with the intention of motivating you to use the valet service, but parking your own car is simply annoying here.  First, they claim the parking stalls are numbered.  What a mess that is, as there is no rhyme or reason to the numbering system.  Secondly, you cannot get from the parking structure directly to the hotel, you must leave the parking structure outside, then re-enter the hotel at the front, then go to your room.  I've never seen a hotel of this caliber not have the parking structure directly attached.

    I find these types of things very annoying when traveling, mainly because there is no reason for it.  With a little more forethought and attention to detail, this hotel would have been much nicer and more in line with the price.

    I travel a lot for business.  I have stayed at this hotel three separate times on business.  

    I stayed for two nights with the family this April.  The entire experience was great - from check in to check out.  The staff (housekeepers, doormen, valets, managers and all) exhibited true hospitality.

    In addition to great service in general, the care my daughter received was great.  My daughter has a peanut allergy - they took it very seriously at the restaurants on site.  The manager at Oyster Catchers made sure to notify the other restaurant managers at other on-site restaurants to make sure my daughter was safe.

    My significant other and I wanted to take a break away from the miserable weather in NYC (as well as him not wanting to spend his birthday in NYC) we headed out to Tampa for some R&R. The hotel does have a resort feel to it and I found that the staff was very hospitable. I will admit that the day we checked in we learned that renovations started the same day. I wasn't a happy camper and spoke w/ the staff there in hopes that they would be accommodating in some other way. It didn't make since to change rooms as you couldn't escape the noise. I just wish someone would have warned me in advance, as I called the hotel several times with various inquiries prior to my arrival. Well, Ted at the front desk, Ron at concierge at a host of others at the hotel were very helpful in finding ways to put a smile back on our faces. We had lunch a couple of times at Oyster Catchers and our server both times was Ashley who has such a pleasant and bubbly personality. Also met Steve Heald, who ran the restaurant and he is a gem. It's almost impossible to meet someone like Steve at any other establishment and get the excellent service he was so happy to bestow on us. Steve has such a great disposition and he really made us feel comfortable. As much as we enjoyed spending time on the property, I really want to go back just to go to Oyster Catchers and see Steve. We will definitely plan to go back to Tampa and stay at the Grand Hyatt.

    I didn't hate this place, but I guess I thought I'd be more impressed than I was. I stayed here for 2 nights for work last week, and my room was actually on the "resort side" of the complex instead of at the main building.

    The main building is a traditional business hotel. The "resort side" is a bunch of little "casitas" which are essentially individual, ground-level rooms with little patios. If I'd been here on vacation, I think I'd have been a little disappointed with thinking I was getting resort-quality accommodations, only to find the biggest difference was just being a bit more off the beaten path. There were no special amenities--not even a mini bar--and the most annoying thing for me was that the gym and the only restaurant open for breakfast were in the main building, and I had to trek over early in the morning before meetings.

    On the up side, there is a nice little pool on this side that sits right next to the lovely blue waters of Tampa Bay. There is a small sandy area with cornhole, ping pong, and hammocks. I didn't have time to lay by the pool, but there did appear to be food and drink service. The food in the main restaurant that I had for breakfast was decent and overpriced, which is exactly what I'd expect at this kind of hotel.

    Biggest WTF: no wifi in the lobby. Simply bizarre at a business class hotel.

    Attended an electronics expo here.  Hotel staff were very attentive.  Lunch was catfish and chicken which was good and for dinner they served chicken and beef fajitas.  The chicken was very tasty.  Bathrooms were very clean and accessible.  Only gripe is there is not a covered walkway from the hotel to the back parking lot.  Was pouring rain and I got soaked.  Of course it's always wise to have an umbrella handy in the summer afternoons in Florida.  Close to airport so great for business stay but if on vacation I would obviously recommend spending the extra and heading for the sandy beaches.

    Beautiful hotel! I stayed here for business for the first time this month. The front desk service was great at the hotel and upon arriving I was automatically upgraded to the top floor with a bay view which was a nice surprise.The restaurants at the hotel are great. I ate at the lobby bar the first night and had the buffalo wings as an appetizer and Mac n cheese as the main course. Oyster Catchers is one of the restaurants there and was good, a little expensive but that's resort pricing which I expected. The quality of the food was first class here and the deck seating right on the water was great. I will recommend this hotel to my co-workers and friends for sure.

    My wife and I stayed here from December 8th to December 10th 2012 on vacation.  It was a very good experience.

    We stayed in the Casita bungalows of the hotel, which are actually on separate grounds from the main part of the hotel (they are separated by about 100 yards, and can be reached by walking through a beautiful nature walk, shuttle, or car).

    The check in was quick and painless, and the hotel lobby is just beautiful.  We then walked to our Casita bungalow, where there was separate parking.  The room was exquisite with a private patio, great decor, nice television, spacious bathroom, and a wonderfully soft bed.   Next door to our Casita there was a little private beach where we could lay out in the sun, play ping pong, take a dip in the gorgeous pool, or lay out on a set of hammocks (that was EXCELLENT!).

    What also struck us was the location.  If you are looking to stay clear of the hustle and bustle of downtown Tampa, but want to be close enough where you can reach it quickly, THIS is the place to stay.  It is situated in Old Tampa near the harbors, is secluded, and is just minutes away from either downtown Tampa or Clearwater.

    It is a little pricey, but not to the point where you are digging incredibly deep into your pockets.  The ambiance is perfect for romantic getaways.

    With all of that said, there are a few warnings I should pass on (afterall, no place is perfect):

    1.  If you stay in a Casita like we did, do not be surprised if you pick up on a slightly humid and or musty smell at first.  The Casitas are outside, and unless you have the A/C on on occasion or the ceiling fan, the smell will be present.  However, the smell completely disappeared after having the fan on for 10 minutes.  You do not need to have the A/C or fan running nonstop, but rather need is to circulate some air just once or twice a day.

    2.  Also, if staying in a Casita, do not be surprised if you fall into a little trap of getting lost in your own world out there without ever stepping foot into the hotel itself (not that this is necessarily a bad thing).  My wife and I always love to tour hotels, check out this and that, use the fitness rooms, have a drink at the lobby bar, etc.  However, being in the Casita, it was so easy to get lost in your own little realm out there that aside from checking in and out of the hotel, we NEVER stepped foot in it.

    3.  For those considering staying in the main hotel, since we barely walked through it I cannot comment on what works or doesn't work.  However, it seems like a major spot for conferences and was quite jam packed in the lobby and small entry way as we drove passed it during various times of the day and night, so you might see some hustle and bustle there.

    4.  Finally, we come to Oystercatchers... the restaurant of the Casita area.  Al though I will review this restaurant in more depth later, I will summarize in a few sentences:  Be prepared to shell out $100 for two people for nice scenery and ambiance, but very bland and un noteworthy food.  The Mahi Mahi was uninspired, and my wifes filet mignon tasted like something I could get pre cooked from Trader Joes.  It is a shame because the place has been very well reviewed, and our server Charles was very kind to us.  But, for the price was paid, I am sure there is far better that Tampa has to offer in regards to fine dining.

    Overall, the stay was nice, relaxing, the amenities were wonderful, and we loved the location of everything.  Our food experience left a little something to be desired, but I hear the hotels main restaurant on their 14th floor is pretty good, so do not despair.

    I would surely stay here again, but make a greater attempt at seeing more of what the main part of the hotel has to offer.

    Beautiful hotel property located on the bay. Unfortunately I didn't get much of a view from my room but for the price I paid, it was still an overall good deal. The bathroom is probably the jewel of the room itself, with its heavy glass sliding doors and modern design.

    The floor-to-ceiling windows were awesome although the pillows were disappointing. Either the pillows are overused or simply filled with cheap material - I found myself with a mild neck soreness the next morning.

    I didn't use the hotel wifi (costs extra) so I can't comment on the speeds. Self-parking was free (finally, a 4-star hotel that offers free parking!). Workdesk was positioned with your back to the room windows (would have been better if I could work on my report while looking outside). Main-entrance door attendants are a nice touch.

    I definitely recommend asking for a room with a view. A bit pricey but overall solid hotel choice.

    Well above expectations for the rate we paid (typical of Hyatt depending on the time of year and convention traffic). Beautiful hotel with a great little nature boardwalk out to the bay.  Top notch staff, well dressed clientele, typical "stay fit" gym with well maintained equipment (plus a sauna in each locker room)...  Can't think of a negative thing to say about this stay, the self parking is even free!

    I loved this hotel! Beautiful views, beautiful and sizeable rooms and quiet. The only things I take a star off for are 1) there was only one trashcan in the entire room and 2) it can be a little noisy when doors open and close on the rooms around you but otherwise I did not hear a peep. Good in-room dining choices and the hours of service are accommodating. I am usually a Hilton girl but after this experience I might have to join the Gold Passport program!

    I have stayed here a number of times over the years.  The rooms and beds are excellent.  The property is amazing.  The staff is excellent.  I have held several meetings at this hotel and the service is top notch.  

    This hotel has two amazing restaurants Armani's and Oystercatcher's.  Armani's is on the top floor of the hotel and has amazing views of Tampa and the bay.  Oystercatcher's is right on the water at the back of the property.  The grouper sandwich in the lobby bar is really good too!

    This hotel has immaculate amenities, it's clean, and has great service. The rooms are standard size, but very nice, perfectly comfortable, and are perfect for business travelers. The staff could not have been nicer or more courteous. (But I could have done without the inconsiderate, cackling women who walked past my room at 3AM every night and woke me up.)

    I have two complaints, however:

    1) They offer an online check-in, which I love. I checked in online, was given a page with a barcode to print and scan at the kiosk. I did that, and it spit out my key. However, at no point during that process (that I could detect) did it tell me my room number. We asked the front desk employee and he had no idea about the online check in. The online check-in is great, but it's a little clunky. The front desk helped us immediately however.

    2) A beautiful (and not cheap) hotel like this can't offer HDTV? Really? There's a nice HDTV in the room, with crappy, statickey, analog cable tv. That is pretty lame, for the price. If I'm at the Best Western on I-75, I would expect this, but not here.

    Beautiful resort! Did not stay here but had the pleasure of coming to this property for several events. The resort itself is located in its own little secluded area not far from the Tampa Airport and has beautiful views of the bay. Had the opportunity to visit one of the onsite restaurants-Oystercatcher's which offers fantastic seafood and dining service. Staff are phenomenal here and will go out of their way to please you. The restaurant is right on the water and has the option of outdoor dining. Absolutely stunning views! Looking forward to coming here many more times in the future.

    Just spent a week at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay and I can only say that I was underwhelmed. This is not to say that it was bad. It was actually a very nice resort. The grounds are beautiful. Everything is well manicured. There is a trio of restaurants, internet access for a fee, and plenty of parking (included with your stay). In general, the staff is very friendly.

    So why not five stars? For starters, my room was not ready upon check-in. They took my cell phone number but after an hour of waiting, I lost patience and called. Magically, my room was ready. One can only guess that they forgot about me. So I began my stay pissed off.

    Moving on, the room was on the small side but it was clean and had a beautiful view of Old Tampa Bay. On the downside, the coffee maker was missing parts and the tub drained very slowly. These are not the signs of a top flight resort.

    There are two pools for guest use. The first pool is adjacent to the main lobby. Calling it small is an understatement. Then there is the second pool. This pool is a good five block wall down the resort's nature path. It is also small. However, a patio with hammocks and full service bar await the guest.

    I really can't say much further. I based myself out of the Grand Hyatt while exploring the Gulf Coast and other parts of Florida. Every night I was happy to return. The location is great as you are literally two minutes from the airport.

    I have high expectations when I travel. The Grand Hyatt was very good but the Ritz it was not.

    I ordered a delivery to be sent to the hotel the day I arrived. I got an email from my company that my package was delivered and signed by "Mark". When I called down to the desk there was no package and the manager on duty said that Mark didn't even work there. I basically got the run a round and had to keep calling because no one had an answer and nobody got back to me. I had to re-order my package. When I checked out I was told there was a package for me, 4 days later and there is a Mark that works there after all, the manager on duty at the time had no idea why I didn't receive my delivery. Terrible service and staff. The hotel itself is nice but I won't stay here again.

    Great hotel!  I stayed here for a business trip and really enjoyed my stay.  The hotel itself and rooms were really nice - updated, clean, and fresh.  Staff was all very pleasant and I even took a walk along their boardwalk/nature trail.  I did not get to spend any time by their two pools, but they both looked beautiful. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

    And Anja the manager is super responsive, and she has her operation smoothly under control.  Thanks, Anja, for the courtesy you showed.
    And one last shout out*... to Patricia, the housekeeper (that I never met) but who left me (A) a card with her name on it and (B) a crazy spotless room that redefined "tidy".  You know how the first blast of a cold shower can refresh the senses?  Amazingly, the room Patricia prepared for me had the same effect... a visual splash of order and crisp linens etc. that actually refreshed.  Thanks.
           * I'm gonna pioneer the Unsung Awards, where the folks who are normally unsung and unseen get the props they deserve.  It's funny/sad that a housekeeper who puts TLC into her work is someone you often never even see.  Keep ya posted...

    The only complaint I would have is that our bathroom had not been cleaned upon arrival, however it was taken care of immediately. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly. The breakfast buffet is a little over priced at 19.99. I will definitely stay again the next time I am in Tampa.

    Champagne upon check-in, gorgeous views of the bay, two pools, three restaurants and a bathing suit extractor made me a happy woman.  

    I named my price via Priceline and got a great deal here. I knew it would be close to the airport and super convenient as my last stop on my brief tour of Florida.

    I checked in late at night after an incredibly long day. Normally I would have been a little more pleased to be handed a glass of champagne, but with my level of exhaustion all I wanted was a shower and a bed. When I was told that my room was on the "resort side" of the hotel, I had no idea what that meant other than I had to walk somewhere elsewhere and at 11:30pm, that had no appeal to me. However, he could tell and told me he had one more room in the main hotel area that he could get me into to my relief.

    The room itself was average, with an above average view of the bay. I must admit, it had a slightly musky odor, but the room appeared to be clean and fairly spacious, so I could care less.

    Breakfast the next morning was simple, but absolutely delicious. Best hash browns I've had in awhile, with my eggs cooked perfectly over medium. The OJ? Fresh to to def!

    My flight left late the next day, but the hotel was extremely accommodating, storing my luggage and providing me access to the facilities including the beautiful and modern gym with plenty of cardio equipment, whirlpool and saunas in each locker room. I was especially excited to see the bathing suit extractor that I gave a whirl to, drying my suit in seconds.

    The premises are fun to explore, with lush, wooded walkways leading to other areas of the resort. While there is one pool directly next to the main building (where plenty of business functions take place) there is another pool, with a man-made bay side beach right next to Oystercatchers that I would recommend exploring.  They even had cornhole, ping pong tables and a fire pit set up that I'm sure is an indication of how fun things could potentially get here.

    Before staying here, I had the impression that this would be another super corporate, stuffy hotel but in fact, there is a little for everyone here.

    This Hyatt property has a really great location that makes it easy to get to and from the airport, downtown Tampa, and provides the kind of views you want when coming to Florida.  The property is secluded, large enough to offer all the amenities you could want and has friendly, efficient staff.  Both Armani's and Oystercatcher's are terrific restaurants so I highly recommend this property for your visiting guests who are looking for a little more than a place to sleep.

    Stayed here recently while visiting for MLB Spring Training. The hotel is nice, comfortable and convenient to the airport. There are not many good casual restaurants  nearby - only bland/boring tourist and chain joints. The hotel bar is ridiculously expensive - even by hotel bar standards so didn't even try Oystercatchers, the well reviewed hotel restaurant.

    Our youth non-profit hosted an 800-person convention at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay over July 4th weekend.  From the sales to convention staff, we were treated with respect and dealt a fair hand in terms of pricing.  Everyone from the front desk staff, to banquet staff, and so forth, were welcoming and accommodating to our group's needs.  With hundreds of kids running around, requests can get overwhelming but the staff handled them with grace.  Food that was catered from the Hyatt was tasty and never ran out.  

    We had an excellent experience with Hyatt Hotels in 2010, followed that up with a similarly outstanding experience in 2012, and for our 2014 convention, will look to Hyatt no matter where we decide to host.  Thank you to the Grand Hyatt staff for a wonderful stay.

    THE most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. Found food in the bed GROSS! Spoke with the front desk & they were unconcerned & rude. We tried the hotel lounge, service was very slow especially considering there were hardly any people there. The only redeeming factor up at this hotel was the roof top restaurant where we had perfect service & a lovely time. I explained our experience with the bartender who turned around & told the restaurant manager, she came over very concerned & apologetic. Not at all what I expected from a Grand Hyatt.

    Very nice hotel within 7 minutes by shuttle to the airport.  Most hotel/motels close to the airport are dumps.  Especially the Marriott at the airport.  This property had good food in the bar and the pool(s) area was especially nice.  If you stay there be sure to visit their fake beach area up against the bay on the property.  It has trucked in white sand and beach lounge chairs.  Pretty nice.  The pool is heated as well so in the evening it is very nice.

    We had a great stay at the Grand Hyatt for a long weekend 5/15-5/19. Check-in was quick and easy, after being greeted at the front entrance by bellhops. All of the staff were extremely friendly. The hotel itself seems to be newly renovated in a modern style (everything looked very IKEA, at least in our room.)

    Pool areas are nice- the "Oystercatchers" pool has a better view, but it is a hike to get there from the main hotel area. We should have taken our car or one of the hotel shuttles to get there. We enjoyed walking the "boardwalk" through the nature area as well.

    We didn't eat at the hotel at all, but did have drinks at the lobby bar (1823.) Prices were "hotel high" as expected, but the service was very good. It's true that there are not really any non-chain restaurant options nearby.

    This seems to be a hotel catering primarily to business travelers, but there were also several weddings taking place while we were there.

    Overall a great stay. I was disappointed when we drove toward Clearwater and saw some hotels on that main street (Courtney Campbell I think?) that had cute man-made beaches and sandy areas, which I would have preferred. We ended up going to the Ben T. something city beach down the road.

    This review is based on my experience with the banquet staff during a wedding that I attended on the evening of Sunday, May 11th, 2014 in the Audubon Grand Ballroom. My family and I were one of the first to arrive and I have to say that everyone we bumped into smiled and greeted us. I have to mostly recognize Anita (or Amita?) for her genuine and friendly personality. She was very attentive and was always more than willing to help. I really hope management recognizes her and her team for a wonderful job because they certainly epitomize top notch service. They made the wedding even more enjoyable than it was.

    I am so disturbed by my dining experience this evening at Armani's in the hotel.  Without going into details on here, I asked for chicken and they served me veal.   Those that know me KNOW how opposed I am to eating veal.  It is my choice and I know that.   Feeding me veal is like serving a vegetarian beef when they ask for portobello.  Once I had a few bites, I realized it wasn't chicken.  The server/Kitchen said since I ordered chicken piccata without capers that it was actually scallopini.  That was their excuse for serving me veal instead.  Said it was because I ordered chicken piccata without capers that it is now veal.   I was so furious that I was shaking and wanting to go purge immediately.  I went right down to the hotel manager on duty and said that I expected more out of what I thought was a higher end hyatt, that the culinary staff didn't know the difference between chicken and veal.  The manager of the hotel offered me a voucher to their other restaurant....I declined.   I stay at both hyatt and hiltons depending on my travels, I have started leaning towards hyatts to boost my points and status to diamond.   The desk staff is awesome but I think they really need to work on someone who cares in the restaurant.

    Staff was exceptionally friendly and the room (1402) had the best view  Get this room it is on the NW corner and looks out across the bay and to the North also.  

    Oystercatcher's was delicious.  

    Surprisingly, they had the fastest room service I have ever experienced.  I don't know how they even got to my room that quickly.

    Nice hotel, very quiet room with a nice view of the bay. Bar in the lobby, but casual restaurant is a long walk. The thing to realize is this is a business hotel. The pool is small and the Jacuzzi is waay too hot.

    We did splurge on room service for breakfast. The fruit, yogurt and granola parfait was spectacular with lots of huge, fresh blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. The crab and asparagus omelet was awful, it was supposed to have fontina cheese which just looked like some cheap, greasy cheddar, the crab was strong tasting, the asparagus was tough and the roasted tomatoes were nowhere to be seen. The eggs benedict we had them replace the omelet with was much better with perfectly poached eggs and a decent hollandaise sauce. Ooh, also, fantastic hot dark roast coffee and fresh orange juice.

    We just stayed here one night to enjoy back to back shows at Ruth Eckerd Hall without driving two hours each way back and forth to and from Orlando. For this purpose this hotel location was perfect. There are a number of other hotels nearby but the reviews are mixed so for just a bit more money we went with the Hyatt.

    I would give the Grand Hyatt Tampa 4.5 stars if I can but I rounded up to a 5.  The rooms were great and big, the bar and restaurants were convenient. The pools were nice, however there were a lot of kids running around but the bar can help you with that :) there are two pools, one right next to the lobby and the other near the casitas/villas that is more resort style. We like the resort side because they had hammocks and I'm a sucker for hammocks.

    We were here during st Patricks day weekend and the ny Yankees spring training is close by as we hoped to see some of the players and coaches.

    The fitness center is well equipped and we took advantage of the water cooler and that it wasn't crowded.

    The only negative I have about the hotel are the tvs in the rooms. They are a good size tv but no HD!  I know it's kinda stupid but if you have a nice tv in a very nice hotel, why not compliment it with HD?!?  Everything we watched was fuzzy and didn't give it any justice. This is NCAA Bball championship week!

    Beautiful resort in a perfect location. When checking in we asked for an airport view room (this confused the representative for a moment), but the better half has an airport obsession. We got bumped up to a better room since we were requesting a city view, which made us both happy. Our room had a 180 degree view of the runway, it was really nice.

    We unfortunately didn't have enough time to explore the resort while staying, but the lobby area and rooms are beautiful. I have seen the photos of the grounds and we will be coming back to explore the rest of the resort very soon. Perhaps in one of the Casitas.

    One of my new favorite weekend getaway places.

    After years and years of renovation they finally got it right at the Grand Hyatt Tampa.
    I have been using this hotel for years due to its proximity to the airport.
    It had gotten very worn out, but ownership has put in the time and money to make it look new again.
    Very stylish renovation in both the rooms and the bar / restaurants.
    Prices are very seasonal.
    Will continue to use this hotel.

    Pretty place & room, lovely grounds on the edge of Tampa bay, beautiful boardwalks, fantastic sunsets, & club level amenities that were truly impressive. Some members of the staff (particularly the club level staff & kitchen manager, as well as the security guard - let's call him Security Guard #1 - who hailed from Gwinnett County & walked all the way out the gazebo to check on my safety on an evening when my husband was delayed for dinner & I had strolled out onto the boardwalk alone) were extremely nice & did a good job making us feel welcome and well taken care of.

    Why not 5 stars, then, you might ask? Because there were a couple of issues that I can't ignore and that simply will not allow a higher rating.

    First, the level of concern in response to some of the problems we encountered just wasn't, well, quite up to par.  On a positive note, let me point out that there WERE individuals over the course of our 3 day stay who did exhibit concern: the front desk staff addressed room problems at check-in with expeditious (if multiple) room changes (first non-conforming room not as reserved, second non-conforming room so noisy even Jesus could not have tolerated the ruckus, final room as reserved, sans racket), and one evening manager sat us at the bar & had us order ourselves a drink on the house while she checked on the status of an item lost by hotel porters during all the room changes.  Overall, though, it was incumbent on us to find people who would pursue solutions & to follow up with them - callbacks by the hotel staff were rare.  Additionally, the lost item issue was never resolved, there was never any contact by management, no offer to compensate the loss, and no indication or assurance that the search would be ongoing.  The staff just were not very responsive on this issue and seemed resigned about the whole matter, as if it didn't really matter much at all.  While it's true that the item lost was not hugely valuable (around $150), it DID matter to us.

    To make matters worse, on our last night at the hotel, we had dinner at the on-site restaurant Oystercatchers.  We had a couple of glasses of wine with several really good dishes, which I'll detail more in my review of the restaurant.  After dinner, around 9:30, the very nice waitress heard our plan to walk out on the adjacent dock & sit in the chairs to watch the evening wildlife.  She thoughtfully brought us 2 beach towels to dry off the chairs.  Around 9:40 or so, we made our way onto the dock.  At about 9:45, we were brusquely approached by a security guard - appropriately dubbed SG#2 - who was very different than SG#1 from the night before.  SG#2 was rude and demanding when he asked us to remove a towel we had used to dim a dock light, and despite our immediate and unquestioning attempts to comply with his requests he began to treat us like delinquent teenagers, continuing to harass us even as we were complying, questioning us about whether we were drinking, and telling us he would ALLOW us to stay on the dock for another 10 minutes until it closed at 10 PM, as long as we were not drinking. HUH??  We were stunned. I don't know where the hotel found this guy, but they really should consider returning him to wherever it was.  Judging by his demeanor and his treatment of us, we think maybe he was formerly a bouncer at a bar and wasn't able to switch gears.  Either way, I can honestly say that's the first time I was ever harassed or treated badly at an upscale hotel.  My husband pointed out to SG#2 that we had complied with his request and he asked SG #2 to desist harassing us and leave, which he eventually did, only to return a few minutes later, promptly at 10PM, with a female manager in tow to tell us (again) that the dock closed at 10PM.  REALLY?? We assured them both that we heard what he said about the 10PM closing and, contrary to his belief otherwise, FULLY intended to leave the area given that he had turned a very pleasant evening into a VERY UNPLEASANT one.  

    In summary, SG#2's performance ALONE was SO terrible and SO offensive that he could have easily earned Grand Hyatt a one-star Yelp rating, but that wouldn't be fair and wouldn't reflect our appreciation of those staff members mentioned above who did their individual best to make our stay a good one.  Hopefully, the hotel will read this and address the issues so that future guests (which may or may not include us despite the fact that we frequent the area for my husband's business) won't have their stay tainted by similar episodes.

    I was attending a conference at this hotel in April and the pictures on the website made it look very nice.  However, once I arrived I realized what a beautiful property it really is.  My room overlooked Tampa Bay and was modern and very comfortable - great bed and great shower.  The staff was extremely friendly and parking was very easy.  It is also conveniently located to the airport making it very handy for the business traveler.  Highly recommended hotel when staying in the Tampa Bay area.

    This is a classic business class hotel. The lobby decor is exemplary and the bed is beyond comfortable...better than home. The room was spacious and clean. The only downs were those of all business class hotels: no free WiFi and no free breakfast. The hotel is not far from the airport and the shuttle runs every 20 min, 24 hours a day, so this is perfect for a layover night at LAX when you don't want to have to stress about how you'll get back to the airport for an early flight.

    So happy we stayed here. It's conveniently and centrally located. Everything we did in Tampa was around 15 minutes away. The service was spectacular. We stayed in a bay view room which was very clean and very comfortable. The daily housekeeping was excellent and the in room dining was very delicious. Very highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Tampa Bay.

    Beautiful & clean. Only here for one night this week, had stayed at a hyatt place by the Sundome & Busch Gardens last week. Honestly, I wish I had gone back there. The staff is so much more friendly there than here? I'm quite surprised? Overall it is quite lovely, but not close to the restaurants & stores.  Have to get on the main highways & not make wrong turns. Glad I'm here for just the night.

    This hotel has the best customer service that I have ever experienced. Everyone makes you feel like you are a very special guest. The doormen, the bellmen,front desk staff and the restaurant staff all are exceptional in making you feel like you are their most important guest. There is nothing to say negative about the Tampa Bay Hyatt.  The food at Oystercatchers and Armani's is incredible. We love the piano player at Armani's lounge. The rooms are spotless and beautiful and have incredible views. It is a little expensive but if you like a really first class stay it is worth every penny.

    I write this review after attending a conference here and I did not stay in a room, but I did spend some time at the bar and we all had a great experience. The bartender, AJ, is on top of his game. It's refreshing to see a bartender actually making drinks, like Sangria, from scratch. All too often we get served pre-mixed crap or a glass of sweet and sour mix, but these were really good drinks. He handled the bar extremely well, even with servers and people from the pool coming by every second for drinks. I'll make it a point to visit this bar more often, whether I need to be at the hotel for any reason, or not.

    I've been traveling a lot on business recently and this hotel really stood out for me.

    Very welcoming front desk staff.  Very clean room.  My wiFi, which I need for work, sparked up in an instant.  Bed was super comfy.  I had a meal at the hotel restaurant, which was really good and very reasonably priced.

    This hotel is right across from the bay and very close to the airport, which was great for my morning back home.

    I would not hesitate to stay here again next time I'm in Tampa.  Thanks

    I came here for a committee meeting and wow the bar inside is gorgeous! Although confusing to get to off the highway, it's beautiful, and parking was way easy. We had a big marble table to meet at and I have to say I'd love to return here! I didn't get to look at the menu since this was a business meeting and food was already ordered, but of what I had, I will totally return. Cuban flatbread?! SOLD. Get it. It was so amazing and tasted like a real Cuban in a different form... absolutely delicious. I also had sangria which was a nice large glass and pretty tasty. We also had some quesadillas and tomato flatbread which was also very good but not even on the same level as the cuban! We will be hosting an event here in a few months and I can't wait to see how that goes as undoubtedly it will be beautiful and have some amazing food!

    A very nice hotel located just a few minutes away from the Tampa airport.  One of the better Hyatts I've stayed at.

    Most of the hotel areas are renovated and has a fresh look.  The front desk check in and check out process was a breeze.  It could be because it was low season.   I didn't get to use the gym or pool but it would have been nice maybe the next time I am in the area again.  

    Free wifi with my platinum Hyatt membership.  My meeting ran over and they were also able to extend my checkout time smoothly.

    I also went there for a conference.  The conference rooms were nicely lit and maintained.

    Stayed at the hotel from July 11 to 13th for a romantic getaway.  Everyone that we came into contact with during our stay was beyond courteous.

    Reservations: I made on the phone with a representative. Very easy. We chose the bay view room and requested an upper floor room. And crossed our fingers we would get an upper floor room.

    Checkin/out: super easy! If you added your email address, you get a checkin/out email. Although, I didn't checkin or checkout online, it looks easy enough. I wanted to get there and make sure I was getting the room I wanted. The concierge checked me in and handed me the key cards to the room: 10th floor corner bay view room! Happy me I was, indeed!
    We were able to checkout at 1pm instead of 12. We greatly needed that extra time!

    The room was very clean! The view was beautiful! We definitely wished we had booked another night at least! We both slept throughout the night without once waking up during the night........ The bed was amazingly the most comfortable bed we have slept in.

    The complimentary champagne was also a nice touch.  

    We ordered room service the first night around 11 pm and got our goodies faster than the estimated time given. We had the  margherita pizza and key lime cheesecake pie. So good! 5/5.

    We didn't eat breakfast at The Kitchen on the first floor. We decided to eat out instead. So I can't comment on the breakfast. It looked good though.

    There was complimentary grapefruit flavored water, lemonade, and 3 different cookies near the elevators.

    Mangrove boardwalk and gazebo: there is a decent sized boardwalk leading up to a spacious gazebo which is surrounded by mangroves. I wish the view of the water was not obstructed by the trees but I am pretty sure that the whole mangrove area is protected.

    There is at least 1 walking/running trail as well.  

    We both cannot wait to stay at this location again!
    We also dined at Armani's, the rooftop restaurant, on the 14th floor. This establishment made our night! The food, drinks, and our waiter were all top notch 10/10!  My lover man had never had calamari before and upon trying it, he enjoyed it very much! Thank you Kahlid!

    I am staying here for work. I have been here for 3 weeks now and will continue to stay here for the most part for the next 5 months. The king bedrooms are very nice and spacious. The hotel is very clean and modern looking. There is the best restaurant on the property called Oystercatchers. It's so good and has such a pretty view!

    Visiting family in the area, we chose this hotel due to airport proximity for our early morning departure.  They offer free parking and free airport shuttle, so the choice is yours.

    Glass building that resembles the office structure next door.  Sleek, modern, 13 story building on Tampa Bay with endless views of the water and surrounding area.

    We used a suite upgrade from the Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond Status and received a HUGE, corner suite with oversized bathroom on the 10th floor.  Room was meticulously clean and furniture was scratch free.  King bedded room was so spacious and had a morning view towards St. Petersburg.  

    The hotel has a small, but very well appointed club lounge on 12 with breakfast starting at 6:00am.  Midday snacks were sparse, but evening munchies included shrimp cocktail, conch fritters, cheese assortment, roasted veggies and more.  Like most Hyatt properties in the US, alcohol is NOT free.  You have to travel internationally or to Kauai for complimentary cocktails.

    The pool area is, again small, but ample.  We drank local beers down in front of the fire pit one night before heading to bed.

    Overall...a great property if you find yourself in Tampa.  With all the freebies, the price is perfect.

    This is a nice hotel right across from the Tampa Bay. I booked this hotel through hotels.com and got an awesome deal with breakfast included the next morning. When I first got there, valet was very polite and helped me out the car and told me where I could check in. Since everything was paid for, all they needed was a photo ID and a credit card on file for incidentals. Also they hold 50 dollars on the card and give it back once you check out. The interior of this place was amazing. Not a speck of dirt in site. Once I went back to the vehicle for bags, I was escorted up to my room and I began to look around.

    The bay view was awesome! The bed was comfortable, but I have slept in more comfortable ones. They even had a fridge for leftovers! Score! This month was customer appreciation month and wifi was free. Normally it is 9 bucks a day. Valet is 12 dollars a day. Once I was settled, I sat down and did a little work as I was seated by the window. After a short nap, I showered and got ready to leave for dinner. Once I returned, I watched some tv and fell asleep. The next morning breakfast started at 6:30am. I was down there at 6:31 lol! Breakfast was beautiful (see photos). It wasn't your typical grab and go. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, yogurt, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, bagels, cream cheese, salmon, fruits, cereal, oatmeal, fruit preserves, muffins, croissants, danish, and even cooked to order omelets. Well breakfast was complimentary so I ate well. Typically a breakfast for 2 would run 40 bucks. Im glad I got a deal and ran with it.

    Side-note: Check out other restaurants and bars on site. This place is huge and sits on 35 acres.

    I had a great stay and i will be returning anytime I am going to see a NHL, MLB, or NFL game.

    GORGEOUS entryway. Amazing service. Every amenity a person could want you will find here. Take the nature walk and end up at Oystercatchers. Amazing food great view, even better ambiance. This is our goto hotel whenever we come here again. 5 stars! :)

    I can't believe I've been coming to Tampa bi-monthly for the last five years and just discovered this hotel. Everything about the experience is top notch. The rooms are beautiful and face the Bay, the gym is fully stocked, the service is exceptionally friendly, the pool area is serene, and the breakfast buffet has items like grilled vegetables in olive oil with watermelon and goat cheese, ie foodie heaven. Although I usually stick to Starwood hotels, nothing they have in Tampa Bay comes anywhere close to this Grand Hyatt, and I can't wait to return.

    The hotel and grounds are kept in spectacular condition and cleanliness. The smell when you walk in the door is fresh clean and warming all at the same time. I went there for an award banquet and the service was spot on and the staff ultra friendly and helpful. The good was quiet good and tasty but when a room of 300+ people I guess it is very hard to get it perfect. The salad delish! The main entree I has was a grilled chicken cutlet with a sauce I'm not sure what it was but it was brown and tasty (probably a lot of butter!) but the chicken was ultra dry but I was so hungry I ate it all up.

    After the banquet was over we walked the halls and wandered up to the top floor which is only the penthouse rooms and the restaurant Armani's. The restaurant is beautiful and the views are superb! Will try the restaurant next time around. We went to the end of the restaurant to the outside seating area. They have an area of couches and a fire pit (it wasn't lot while we were there @ dusk) it is a great place for group or couple photos!

    After coming here I will definitely book a room and stay with hubby for an over nighter!

    If I could recommend any resort hotel in the area this would be it.

    Everything here is done perfect. From the grounds, to the rooms, the service, the restaurants and lounges, the pools and the location.

    Stayed for 5 days and experienced it all , all without a glitch. From Maria at the lounge and pool bar providing excellent service, to the concierge who helped with a dining discount when the front desk could not oblige, to housekeeping leaving me extra cocoa since I don't drink coffee, they have to have some of the best staff in the area.

    I learned that they have not only 1 but 3 Berns award winners here (look it up , its not easy to get) and most of their employees have been there for many many years, most I talked to over 10 and some over 20! That speaks a lot as to the quality of the company and that speaks  magnitudes as the quality of the hotel and the service you can expect.

    I thought I wrote a review but I guess I didn't.....oops. So we stayed here, in the main hotel, about 8 years ago and it left a pretty good impression on us. So when we were back in town to stop by Busch Gardens we decided to give it another go. This time we stayed in the Casitas, basically a one story condo, and WOW! I don't think that I have ever stayed in a more pristine room before. Absolutely immaculate! The rooms had tile flooring with a very large main room and a perfect bathroom. The first thing you will do is check in at the main hotel and they will give you directions to the Casitas which are located within what looks like a perfectly manicured tropical paradise. I'm not kidding! The little river that runs through all of the Casitas had large Koi in them and all of the rooms had a small patio with a bistro table that overlooked the landscaping.

    There are two pools at this hotel and one of them is located near the Casitas and its like having your own private pool. The only odd thing is it is right next to the restaurant so you'll see people dining. The pool is literally five feet from the river where there is a boat dock and a "beach" with corn hole boards, a fire pit, and some beach chairs. You can watch the sunset from here and have a drink, perfect. We traveled with our little kids and nobody treated us like we were not welcomed.

    We are planning a trip down to Tampa again in a few weeks, which is what reminded me that I had not left a review, and we are staying here again.

    This isn't my first time here, and I like the place cause we get good deals as platinum guests. The pool is the best part about this stay: it's small and nice, the bar has a selection of beverages and meals and the service is quite friendly. The breakfast buffet is nice with many selections, but it's crazy in weekends or when there are weddings, which makes sense. The only thing that I really dislike is their bathroom products. They always keep a stingy number of shampoos and conditioners like we have to call the room service every time we're there to get us more and more towels. It should show in their system how many are there to accommodate the room and they arrange bathrooms accordingly. Plus, the line of products is cheap and not really up to  the name of Grand Hyatt. The manager should reconsider what they offer for their guests' wellness.

    As we were travelling to Tampa during Spring Break, the rates for all of the local hotels were elevated. It was a little pricey, but we feel like we got a lot from this hotel, so the cost didn't sting quite so badly.

    The room was large, with a nice big American King Size Bed as well as a desk with a chair and another chair and ottoman. My husband really took to the chair/ottoman combo and we are now looking into getting a similar set-up for our home. The bed was comfortable, and the staff really went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. We requested a fan and a refrigerator, and both they provided without problem.

    We didn't see the pools onsite, as we spent the majority of our visit at the nearby breweries (highly recommended!). We popped by the bar, and ordered a glass of wine, which ended up about twice as expensive for a single glass of wine, but I suppose that's how it is at a hotel.

    We ordered a taxi from the concierge, and got a luxury taxi service, which costs more than the average taxi, so it's advised to arrange this yourself if you care. There is a nice little space that has a tv showing the latest arrivals and departures. Here, you can check-in for your flights and print boarding passes. That was very handy.

    Parking is good.

    The only thing that we really found a problem with was that there was a group who were having a party in the hallway. It went on for ages, and finally we reported it. This isn't the hotel's fault, but it was unpleasant.

    The Quick: Fantastic hotel with incredible views of the water and an amazing restaurant (Oystercatchers)

    The Details: I had a great stay at the Hyatt. The rooms were pristine, the view was gorgeous, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Everything was great for a business trip as well as for enjoying some time at the pool and beautiful weather. The restaurant Oystercatchers was phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about the food and the staff.

    There's a fancy restaurant on the top floor as well. I did not eat there but I did enjoy a cocktail and the most amazing sunset. It's a great place to watch the sky turn rainbow colors. Overall a very nice experience at the Hyatt.

    The Damage: I honestly have no idea since it was a business trip, but considering how nice and luxurious the hotel was, I expect it is not cheap.

    The Grand Hyatt is suppose to be Grand, but I wasn't impressed. Of course if you want a hotel close to all things in tampa, close to the airport, and 30 minutes from the beach then this hotel is for you.

    We had a Bay view room king. Yes, we had a view of Tampa Bay, but the windows were dirty. Can't see the Bay if the window is dirty. Second, the bed and pillows. The bed was uncomfortable and they only have firm and very firm pillows. Was uncomfortable for someone like me who likes a soft pillow.

    Don't get me wrong, the hotel is beautiful. The staff is friendly and will respond quickly when you need something... like when I called for softer pillows.

    Didn't have much of a choice with it being Spring Break there. Maybe should have stayed on the resort side in the Casitas.

    Beautiful hotel. Second time staying here for a work related workshop. Stunning view of Tampa Bay from my hotel room. Was disappointed with the overall cleanliness of my room upon arrival though. Found that the phone at the bedside was dusty and dirty and there was hair in the tub and sink that was disturbing to me as well. The bath mat in the shower looked grimy and dingy and I was concerned about stepping on it while taking a shower especially because there was a slow drain in the tub and the water just built up while showering.

    Besides that the staff is super friendly and attentive. But you can hear the housekeeping staff gossiping outside your bedroom door or singing in the morning. That was annoying to say the least.

    I called the the front desk to inquire about them bringing up some items from a list they have in the room that one would like and they assured me that it would be coming up shortly.  That was yesterday and the items never arrived. I'm already checking out today :/

    Didn't bother calling them back as I feel that if I went through the trouble of calling the first time that should be sufficient and I shouldn't  have to be following up as it's inconvenient.

    Ordered in room service twice. Had the grouper bites and a cheeseburger the first night with fries and they were nice and hot upon arrival and very tasty. The second day I ordered the Cuban sandwich with fries and again it did not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised how fast the food was delivered and the staff was very friendly and helpful each time asking if everything was ok during the stay and if we are enjoying our stay, etc. the portions are very generous as well.

    Again, beautiful grounds nonetheless. More than just a stuffy corporate hotel. Definitely get a resort like feel here. Looking forward to coming back next year with the kids and perhaps staying at the Casitas next time. That part of the hotel looked whimsical!

    This place is Grand! It lives up to its name. This hotel is wonderfully relaxing and beautiful for a romantic getaway. We had a spectacular view of the bay and the room was spacious and newly designed - The bed was comparable to the Ritz, the stone and glass shower was very nice, and the lighting was soft (not sterile and harsh like many). I loved the contemporary yet comfortable design of the room.

    The best part? The resort side pool, only a quick nature walk / golf cart ride away!  The resort pool site is surrounded by palm trees and offers hammocks, covered lounge seating, a sandy area facing the bay, a private pier, and pool-side food and drink service. You get the pool and a view of the bay - I don't know of a better place in Tampa!
