This place is typical Hampton Inn...DARK bedroom with heavy linens. cold breakfast and slow internet connection. The building also seem really old. Pool is the size of pond, bring your ducky. If you have budget, drive up the street and stay at westin.

Gym only has 3 machines, one broken, other two nearly so, no weights.  Breakfast very mediocre.  Shower has very little pressure, water one level above luke warm, but not hot.  Shuttle service to mall was friendly but expensive - $20 for round trip, 4.5 miles each way with no traffic.

This HI is tired and in need of a face lift. From check-in to the room itselft, the place needs an overhaul. The gal on duty when we arrived couldn't have cared less if we checked in or not. Our room was not clean, and it smelled stale. Ther was no 'frig or 'wave either. I cannot remember the last time I visited a HI without these items. Worst of all ... The water pressure was non-existent as was the hot water. Also, the b'fast was sad by HI standards. Most of the items were not inviting. If you want to stay at Rocky Point, stay at the new HI Express next door

I wish I could give this negative stars, that's how horrible my experience was. Rude staff. Had to practically beg to have our room cleaned and for clean towels. Bad location. Small pool. Only beach that is close is small and dirty. If you do not have a car available to you, this is definitely not the place to go. Convenient airport shuttle however (outside service). Shuttle only will drive you 5 miles away from the hotel, which in this area, will not get you to much. Worst hotel experience ever.

lousy service + rude staff.  van sent to pick us up at airport had no signage other than small paper name on windshield.  Staff told us we should have looked harder to see the name.  Their attitude was that it was our fault we let the van drive by us without noting the signage

I travel a lot.   An airport hotel in a huge tourist city with limited shuttle service!    Cost $20 and then I was at the wrong airport Hampton!    Guy on the desk helped and got the shuttle to the other Hampton.   Both older Hamptons.     Well below Hampton norms.   Not a good choice in Tampa!,,,

Sad.  Slight grimy, slightly moist, slightly unkempt.  Front desk was a bit rude...though the lady who works the breakfast was amazingly helpful and had a true service mentality.  The other workers seemed to be there on a court-mandated assignment.  Next time I will try the Holiday Inn Express right behind.

If you like a weathered 80's vibe with a can-and-string Internet connection this is the place for you!  The walls haven't been painted in ages and there is a constant buzz coming from the window unit style AC.  Be sure to hold the handle down on the toilet for a few seconds cause it won't flush otherwise.  All being said, the front desk lady was pleasant and the room seems to be pretty clean.

Not up to par with Hampton Inns in general.  Very disappointing.  Room smells musty, cigarette burns in the drapes, Don't go barefoot on the carpet -  keep your flip flops on.  Ice machine doesn't work.  Asked for a different room but the very nice front desk person said only room available was worse. Under renovation- Loud construction work going on.  Holiday Inn Express and Westin right next door - Stay at one of those hotels instead.  1 star  for location - close to the airport.  1 star for clean bathroom.

This is probably the worst kept Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at.  Rooms definitely need to be updated.  Dark and dingy.  Toilet would run if you don't move the handle just right.  Need to be a mechanical engineer to turn on the shower.  Three different knobs have to be turned to get shower started.

During the day, linen is just dumped in the middle of the hall so you have to go thru an obstacle course to get to and from your room.  Employees would apologize but why do it if you have to say sorry.

Worst of all, they didn't clean my room one of the days.  I called front desk around 6pm to be told no one from housekeeping was on duty.  So I asked to speak to manager.  No manager on duty.  I asked that the manager call me the next day.  Never heard from anyone.  Clearly management does not care about how it runs this hotel

Only reason I gave this place 2 stars is that the employees I did deal with were pretty friendly.  Unfortunately, the management, housekeeping and hotel leave a lot to be desired.
