Best hotel staff I've come across. Allison and John provided a very smooth check-in process, and Josh could not have been more knowledgeable about the area. Room was clean and had a great view, would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great to see awesome customer service.

What's awesome hotel . Great service , the room was very nice and Very comfortable bed  . love the breakfast  (I can eat that French toast every day lol lol )  and  the Starbuck in the lobby .Nice  rooftop pool , too bad the weather was too cold . Stay here this week  for the hockey game , sad we did not win :(:(:(  Still !! Will definitely Stay  here again for the next game .  And hopefully it will be warmer .

This hotel is beautifully designed inside with many convenient amenities and a knowledgable, friendly staff. The Starbucks, gift shop, restaurant/lounge, tables, sofas, fresh citrus water dispenser, and guest computers in the lobby and shuttle and taxis readily available at the entrance is convenient, the rooftop pool and (actually HOT) jacuzzi are nice with an adequate gym, both stocked with towels. Fluffy, beach towel sized, white towels. The beds are firm but with a pillow top for comfort. I loved the plush down comforter and perfectly plump pillows, I liked to make a little nest to sleep in. There is Coffee Bean coffee packets for the in room coffee maker and to-go cups with lids. The biggest suggestion I would make is that there should really be a microwave in the room in addition to the mini fridge. We had a couple small things wrong with our room like an outlet detached from the wall, but after calling the front desk, a repair man fixed that immediately. The staff, especially John Tanner at the front desk, go the extra mile. He not only explained in detail the best places to dine-with even his favorite dishes from the menu- for our anniversary... We found complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room when we got back! So kind! I'm traveling constantly this year and I wish I could stay at a hotel of this quality all the time.

I'm here now and it's only been 9 hours.    I'm Diamond with Hilton so I consider myself a Hilton authority.  Don't stay in room 1509.  The bed is awful.  Every TV channel is snowy.  I have the A/C on 68 and it is barely cool in here.  Plus every 10 minutes it makes a grinding sound.  Don't order room service.  The food was awful.  Kids chicken fingers and a sandwich.  Really?  They couldn't even handle that.  
Yes, they are starting construction and constantly remind you this was a previous Hyatt property.  Lame excuse.
Oh, there are no Honors floors nor an Honors lounge.  
Should have stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn.  Oh, now I hear a toilet flushing and someone's TV.  Now dropping to 1 star from 2.

This was our first time staying in this hotel & we were thoroughly impressed! The room decor was beautiful, the linens were really nice, & the bed very comfortable. The staff downstairs from the lobby to the valet were super friendly & on top of everything. Three people must've said good morning before we got out the door which I love. We would definitely stay here again!

I liked this hotel until last night. Last night, the front desk called our room, waking me, my wife and our 2 kids up after 11:00. On a night when we were exhausted and had to get up before 6:00 for a flight. Anyway, it happened again a few minutes later, and John at the front desk examined that the wake up call service had malfunctioned (we hadn't requested a wake up call) and it wouldn't happen again. But it did, after we were all bask asleep. And then again. I finally went down to the front desk to complain, and the guy was nice enough but WTF? The Hilton basically ruined 4 people's sleep and made an exhausting day even worse. Gross imcompetence on their part. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone who wants to sleep through the night.

Stayed here for a conference.  Hotel looked promising; beautiful renovated lobby.  However, it was downhill from there.  Rooms  are tired and not very clean.  We should know as we had to move rooms twice due to noise issues.  Hair on bathroom floors, dirty light switches and smudge marks on the doors.  Gross.  Also had a bad experience in the restaurant.  Ordered a simple Cobb Salad.  After a long wait, it was delivered with three whole pieces of cold bacon laid on it and a chicken breast dumped on top.  Neither item was crumbled/sliced.  So much for any effort at presentation.  It was a Sat. night (Dec. 13) and there were only about four tables so we should have been forewarned!  On a positive note, the valet service is quick and friendly so we did appreciate that.  No concierage in this hotel so you better do your research prior to traveling here.  The front desk folks tried to help but were not very knowledgable.  Would not stay here again.  We have definitely experienced better at other Hilton properties.

I came here for the first time to experience an MMA event with fellow friends and I was very excited to get in there! The event was everything I thought it would be, because there were a lot of enthusiasts who loved the sport and it was well done. The Hilton was a great place to hold an event such as this, but there were a couple things that weren't so hot too me. They did serve food and beer but everything seemed to be a bit over priced. When I saw that their water was 3 dollars I almost cried!

Overall, I enjoyed my time at the Hotel for this event and there can't be much said because the hotel just served as the venue. I would definitely like to come back because it was clean, and welcoming, BUT, that's it.

Wasn't impressed.  At check-in I waited a few minutes to be assisted.  There was nobody in sight.  I was the only one in line.  Then two employees came out, apparently one was a supervisor as I could tell she was irritated with the employee for making me wait.  Other than that check-in was smooth.

Room was clean and comfortable.  Bathroom was small with a small vanity.  Little room on the counter top.

Biggest issue was parking. First, it was expensive to park in an offsite outdoor lot.  But one morning I stopped at my car to get something before heading off for a meeting.  Noticed pylons in the parking lot.  No big deal.  Parking attendant asked if I was leaving.  I told her no.  Thirty minutes later I get a call from the engineering department at the hotel and was told I had to come move my car as they were working in the parking lot.  So I leave my meeting to move my car.  Lucky I was close and could. Why did the attendant tell me this in the morning?  What a terrible inconvenience.

Lobby is under construction.  Ok good.  But this meant I had to walk on the street to quickly access the parking lot.

They charge for Internet, 10 bucks a day.  Seriously?  This is 2013.  Ok fine.  But it didn't work that well.  If you charge for a service make sure it works.

Fitness center was nice, had cooled towels.  Nice touch.

I will choose another place next time.  For the hotel price you get location and nothing else special.  With the construction going on a cup of coffee would have been a simple comp.

Cute place near Channelside and Ybor. Just make sure you don't have leftovers. No fridge and no microwave in here. Other than that, it's your average hotel. The lobby is nicer than the rooms and the staff is friendly and helpful. Nothing really memorable about this place otherwise.

A very average Hilton property in a very average city.  

I have stayed in many Hilton properties, including several Waldorf resorts.  So I think I have some perspective on what the chain had to offer.  

So what does the Hilton Tampa Downtown have to offer?  The milquetoast personality of an airport hotel, magically transported to the center of town.  

But HH points are HH points.  So I will be satisfied knowing that this stay is helping pay for a great vacation at a beautiful Hilton resort.

Initially booked a suite at the Chase Suites Hotel which was horrific!!  Our stay there lasted about 10 mins, long enough for me to book 3 rooms at the HIlton.  

Staff was amazing.  When they learned of our experience at Chase, they upgraded our rooms and offered free drink tickets.  I was with my mother and brother so we really wanted this to be a special family trip and boy was it ever!  Beautiful roof top pool, location was perfect!  The beds were heavenly, food delicious, I don't have a bad thing to say.  The Blue One Shuttle service was spectacular with friendly, knowledgable drivers.  I would stay here again in a hearbeat!

I stayed here while on a business trip and was very impressed with the night staff.  I got in late after a long dinner and when I started to iron my shirt for the next day, rust started flying out and stained my shirt.  Needless to say I was quite upset as this was the only clean shirt I had left.  I called down to the desk and they sent someone up immediately.  They took my shirt and iron and said they would get back to me in a few mins.  The night shift person called back and said they would have it cleaned and ready for the next morning.  
As promised, the next morning my shirt was delivered cleaned and pressed along with a complimentary breakfast.  It was very obvious to me that this gentleman had spent a considerable time removing the stains and trying to press the shirt to make it look like it came from the cleaners.
The staff could have just apologized and credited my bill, but they didn't.  They made the extra effort to resolve a bad situation and it really impressed me.  
Thank you.  

One recommendation I have to the management is to have the cleaning staff inspect and test the room irons regularly.

This property is a bit run down. The lobby looks cool with 4 big screen TVs and several Macs making you feel like this is a very 'Modern' hotel. Unfortunately the elevators are slow and the rooms are anything but modern and upscale. The TV in the room is fuzzy and has very few channels. Self-Parking is a joke. Internet costs extra. No free breakfast. Next time I'll stay somewhere else.

Attended a gala event that took place at the Hilton- Tampa Downtown.

The hotel staff and valet parking were quite friendly and courteous for an organization's important gala event that was celebrating and raising funds for service animals, "Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs".

It was wonderful to experience such great hospitality and customer service at this Hilton location.

A friend and I booked a room here for a last minute convention and we were really pleased with how helpful the staff was. The bartender was friendly and respectful , despite the fact we were dressed up as comic book characters at his bar. The whole hotel was very clean and well presented, but there was a little bit of mold in the bathroom that caused us some sinus upset- nothing too terrible though. There was an error on our bill , and they removed it with no questions asked. They also added in something complementary for the hassle. I would recommend it for the price. It was a great experience, and having a Starbucks on the lobby floor didn't hurt!

Spent 4 days and three nights here.  Good location within walking distance of tons of restaurants and bars and businesses.  Great walking/joggin trail nearby along the beautiful river.  

We were there fro business meetings and the staff took great care of everything.  Hope to return again soon.

Nice hotel, nice staff, clean rooms.
Bathroom is tiny, can't use half of the vanity because the toilet is in the way. Also shower door and bathroom door conflict with each other.
But why I only gave it 3 stars is because the business office is in the lobby. Not a separate room. I needed to do some studying from a DVD and you can't play it on their computers.

Overall great hotel to stay in downtown Tampa. Clean room, comfortable bed, nice staff, and a great location with decent views. Starbucks in the lobby was a plus. My only criticisms are that the parking was a little annoying (we paid $16 day to self park in a public lot) and the gym equipment wasn't the best (the touch screen on the ellipticals barely responded to touch). Also, our bathroom was freshly redone but the shower door wasn't properly sealed so water leaked all over the floor, and you could tell it was causing damage to the door and walls.

Just came back from a convention that was held at this particular Hotel.  Since they offered us a good rate and we sold out the hotel, I stayed here.

Check in was smooth, very little wait. The newly updated lobby is nice, very clean looking, very efficient. The staff is prompt and very friendly. Every person I got to interact with seemed genuinely pleasant. Every housekeeper smiled, every maintnence worker had no issue answering questions.

They've recently updated their bar and eatery too, both look like a million bucks too. Though in the bar, the prices were astronomical!

The rooms were clean, the rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. I loved the haircare products and the massage soaps. The coffee provided is delicious too!

I stayed here recently for 1 weekend while attending Fanboy Expo back in Sept 2014.  Ive stayed at Hilton hotels for 20 years from CA to FL to NY so when I came across the front entrance, it was rather a weird set-up.  However, the staff and hotel was awesome!  I had no issue except on one night during a horrible rainstorm, the satellite went out.  So, there was no TV at all.  Mind you, the Hilton is located in downtown Tampa and there is like nothing to do within walking distance.  We had to walk 3 blocks to get something to eat.  I did room service 1 night and enjoyed my hamburger.

Very elegant. I loved the location close enough to night life for a cab ride. Rooms are spectacular.they also give military discount.

Downside is no complimentary breakfast and parking is $20 and wifi is only for hh honor member. I do not think I would stay here again unless it was a special occasion.

We booked this hotel for a concert weekend. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Bed slept great. Bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen. You couldn't close the door unless you were wedged between the sink and toilet. Also couldn't keep room cool enough.

We were greeted by very friendly staff who directed us to the self parking area ($16 per night) and helped us to our room with our luggage after we checked in at the front desk.

Our very clean room on the 11th floor was stocked with clean towels and fresh bedding.  The beds were comfortable and noise level was quiet.  We had a lovely view of the pool six floors below us.  

After settling in, we headed out to dinner but not before we chatted it up with the friendly valet staff.

Check out was a breeze.

Great location in downtown!!

Overall, great place! Check in was a breeze. Lobby was very clean, open, modern. Still had a bit of renovation on the escalators last week but no other noticeable problems. Elevators were fine so that didn't affect our stay. I would recommend this hotel for law grads who take the Bar Exam at the Convention Center because of it's location, reasonable price and pleasant ambiance. It's a 10-12min walk to the convention center but the difference in price made that acceptable compared to the closer hotels (over $250/night closer).

Good pool, good little gym. Has a Starbucks downstairs that opened early for Bar Exam days so that was a plus.

Only negative: room service food. Ordered the salmon. No flavor whatsoever. Risotto was ok but was also missing flavor. The plate did not even come with any lemon or lime wedges (even that would have helped the blandness). For $24 PLUS a 21% service fee it was definitely not worth it.

I'll start by saying the actual hotel room and all that the hotel has to offer was outstanding. Very clean, very comfortable. But when we initially got there and told the first desk woman that an airline booked our rooms she told us we were wrong and refused to even check to see if our names were booked in their system. It wasn't until we made a bigger deal about it, that another woman, Kendal, offered to help us figure it out. It was Enrique that remembered the airline calling and him and Kendall proceeded to get us our room and a few extra goodies. Kendall and Enrique rock!!

I stayed here last week for a wedding as part of the wedding party. The wedding was a destination wedding and we had a LOT of luggage, errands, and questions about the area, services, etc. The hotel made arrangements for us to check in VERY early (9:00 am) and even found a room for the bride and groom for early check in. We easily valeted our car 6 times the day of the wedding running errands and picking people and things up. Our Valet, (Carlos) began to know us on sight and would call for our car immediately. Jeff, our concierge, was very knowledgeable and helped us find and locate dry cleaners, jewelry stores, and other crazy questions. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay again soon.

Additionally, the interior is so beautiful that we did some wedding photos there as it was raining the day of the wedding during "first looks" shots.

I can't say enough about this hotel. I booked a room on priceline for 4th of July weekend 2013 and I couldn't have been more pleased.

The service was amazing at the desk, the bar, valet, and the restaurant. They sent two breakfast vouchers for the restaurant and a complimentary bottle of champagne to my room for no reason. We also had great views of the city and the fireworks. The room was extremely clean and the bed was like being at home.

The hotel is in a great location and is perfect for either visiting for a convention/meeting or just checking the city out for a weekend. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This is the cheapest expensive hotel I have ever stayed at!  They nickel and dime you for everything.  To park in a tiny, uncovered lot on the side of the hotel, which is also a public parking lot to anyone else who wants to park there, was $16!! (Bear in mind it only costs $6 to park there if you're one of the public).  To valet was $20 plus tax and tip... There is NO free wi-fi in the rooms - that's another $10 if you want to use it.  
While the room itself was clean, the bedding rumpled like you were crinkling a paper bag each time you moved - not very comfortable if you're rooming with someone else.  While we had no problem with the staff and the ladies at the Starbucks that connects to the hotel were friendly, it was amazing how fast the little charges added up!  I should think for $160+ per night (on a weeknight, no less) they could throw in parking, or at least wifi.

The service here is awful... Everytime I eat breakfast here the service is always behind on greeting you and even taking the time to get you water when you first sit down. The cooks do a good job preparing your food, which keeps me coming back, but the overall service from greeting you to taking your order is dreadful. Don't bother asking a server that doesn't have your specific table for anything because they won't help you and they will simply say your server will be right with you... Their consistent. Nothing compares to the Marriotts Waterside restaurant service and hospitality.. It is superior.

The pool and hot tub are awesome! Our room was extremely clean. We did have to do a room change due to a plumbing problems but other then the inconvenience of the move it was a great stay! I would stay here again.

Honestly, I'd pass the next time I'm in the area.

The good:
*Front desk and bell staff are 5 stars all the way. Super friendly and genuinely hospitable.
*Reasonably close to decent restaurants (3-4 blocks) and the convention center (3-4 blocks)
*Remodeled lobby is very nice

The "Meh":
*This is a former Hyatt property but it has been remodeled to Hilton standard fittings - room sizes are "average"

The BAD:
*An older property means NOISY. You'll hear hallway noise and every single move from rooms adjacent to yours
*Housekeeping = 0 stars. My room wasn't very clean upon arrival - hairs on the bedspread, "hairs" in the bathroom, visible footprints on the bathroom floor and mold in the grout.
*Housekeeping = super sucks. I came back from a long day out and my room hadn't been serviced at all. That made me sad as I was hoping they might at  least clean up the disgusting floors in my bathroom.
*Response to problem - so upon discovering that my room was still unserviced, I called down to Housekeeping. The person who answered couldn't have cared less - so much for Hilton's "satisfaction" guarantee.

Overall - the property isn't really up to "full service Hilton" standards. The management seems to be assertive in reading and responding to published reviews, yet when I called down with an issue (thus giving them a chance to proactively resolve a problem) they weren't interested at all. Lip service all the way.

There are a lot of other hotels nearby - stay at one of them!

I was very impressed by our recent stay at this hotel. We were lucky enough to stay here for free thanks to Hilton hotel points my husband had accrued due to business travel.   I would probably stay here again as a paying customer because the hotel was just that nice.

The hotel is located in Downtown Tampa. We drove in and decided to valet park instead of trying to find a cheaper lot and dragging our luggage down the street. It was about $20 a night with in and out privileges (and tips) but totally worth it.  Any time we needed our car, we would call about 5 minutes ahead of time so that the car would be out front when we walked outside.  

To be honest, being inside the hotel, you really felt like you were in a major city. The lobby is huge and gorgeous . There are freaking chandeliers hanging above the check in area!  And not to mention a Starbucks inside the hotel! I was sold!

Our room was beautiful and immaculate. Bed was super comfy that I could easily nap here all day! I love that there were  plenty of outlets to charge electronics. We had a great view of the pool and highrises in surrounding Downtown from the 12th floor.    The bathroom was a bit tiny and definitely meant for one person. You literally walk into the toilet.  On the plus side, the water pressure for the shower head was awesome! So I can't really complain.     The walls are very thin and we could easily hear loud noises from the hallway as other guests were walking by. It was never a big issue but I did notice that a few times which is to be expected since the hotel was pretty full that weekend.

As for the location, we did find that it was a little harder to find restaurants as they were all spread out and most didn't seem to stay open too late. So make sure to wear your comfortable shoes for walking and exploring.    Downtown Tampa does seem to be a little dead  and uneventful but we made the best of it.  On the bright side, this is a great hotel if you will be attending a concert at Amalie Arena (formerly Tampa Bay Times Forum) as it's about a 15-20 minute walk.  But make sure to eat closer to the hotel as there are not many options next to the arena.

For the most part, I felt we were pretty safe. Room cards are required to move between floors on the elevators between 11p and 6am.  And there was always someone on duty in the lobby.

Definitely give this hotel a try if you're traveling to the Tampa area. Luxurious experience that won't completely empty your bank account!

Great location as its in walking distance to a lot of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My husband and 4 kids loved the 5th floor rooftop pool and I LOVED having a full service Starbucks adjacent to the hotel via the lobby.

Parking is expensive ($20 for valet a day and ($16 + tax for self service per day). We were heading to a cruise so only stayed one night and opted for the valet as we didn't want to unpack the car. The location is less than 1 mile from the cruise terminals which is why we stayed.

Friendly staff and big clean rooms. Great spot for a visit of we were staying in Tampa longer!
