Admission: When I stayed here, I wasn't paying for it. That aside, looking at the typical prices online, this hotel is a good value. Free wi-fi. Service is good. Rooms always felt clean and well maintained. And the front desk staff was nice, which they had to be since I accidentally invalidated my room key four times in three days. They always have popcorn out for the guests to snack on, and have a small pantry where you can buy overpriced snack food if that didn't wet your proverbial whistle.
They have a pool in the back, overlooking a scenic parking lot. But its clean and was a perfect temperature throughout my stay. While my boyfriend worked, I swam and sunbathed, mostly having the pool to myself, rather happily. There is a Five Guys within walking distance. And this hotel is perfect driving distance from everything you need. It felt like it took me 10 - 15 minutes to get everywhere I needed to go.
All in all, it was a quiet, clean place to call temporary home during business travel. Convenient location. Friendly staff. A-Ok is right. Don't be afraid.

I would have given it more stars, but we are staying here due to its proximity to a concert venue. However, apparently, the hotel has no concept of how to keep concert-goers from using their parking lot! We get in from a day of sightseeing and we have nowhere to park! And when I was upset they looked at me like this problem has no possible solution - Hire a guard and keep the lot available for your paying customers!

I have stayed in worse. Its a nice place to stay. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Parking well light. I felt safe to stay there. Its a bit pricey. There a about 3 hotels on 301 right across from the amphitheater and also the Florida Fairgrounds nothing much around with out having to drive.

It's decent -- nothing noteworthy positive or negative. It's a HIE.
Parking is a little wonky, from a side street. There's a Wings & More and gas station next door.
It's not somewhere I'd vacation, but to night over for business, it's what I expect. Although, if you're an IHG Platinum, don't expect a room upgrade :/

I was looking at hotels in a specific area as I am traveling for business and wanted a very simple commute to the office. I can't imagine how this hotel has a 93% on Expedia!
I'll start with the positives:
1. Free Breakfast - it's not gourmet but it has something for everyone. Hot food, pastries, yogurt or oatmeal. Coffee and assorted juices.
2. Free Parking: Enough said! If you're like me and everyplace you go the hotel parking rates are and additional 25% of the room rate this can be very appealing!
3. Free Wifi: Don't expect blazing fast speeds but you're connected and it's reliable.
All the good just doesn't make up for the SMELL! If you have any kind of sensitive smell you simply CAN NOT stay here. The second floor hallway smells like a towel you left in the washer too long... pungent mildew! As you would expect the rooms are also saturated with the smell, albeit slightly less pervasive.
Being honest I wasn't going to post this review; I started it and set it aside as I acclimated to the smell. Once I was home my resolve hardened when I opened my bag and the smell poured into my room. Not only the clothes which I wore but those still "clean" smell so bad that I needed to wash everything.
I couldn't be more disappointed.

Location, location, location. Those are the three most important criteria to determine if you want to stay at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel for someone needing a cheaper lodging where you can hit different parts of the Tampa Bay area quickly, go to Busch Gardens, go to the State Fair Ground or the Hard Rock Casino and you do not plan to spend much time in your room.
Mildew smell is an issue here. The first room I checked into was a smoking room (mix up in my profile, not hotel's fault) and it smelled like mildew (4th floor). I thought that it was because the room was smoking. I downgraded to get a non-smoking room. This room on the second floor also smelled of mildew. I brought it up to management's attention and the housekeeping staff added some air freshener cover scent, turned the air conditioning on max and opened the shades. This brought the odor down to a manageable level. I think the fact that they do not have the air conditioning running before you check in contributes to this issue. Bottom line is that I do not expect this from a hundred plus a night Holiday Inn Express.
Everything else was good, breakfast, customer service, amenities, and housekeeping.

Very helpful courteous staff. Adequate breakfast bar. Very clean well stocked rooms. Comfortable beds. Overall a good stay. Oh, I also felt safe as a female traveling alone.

Great service and very accommodating. I love that breakfast doesn't just stop when the clock hits 930. The lady working there is kind enough to continue keeping up with the breakfast bar for as long as she needs to. The front desk was very helpful in the daytime and they were extremely nice to my family and I. Housekeeping was on the ball as we often did not leave our rooms until well after noon or sometimes as late as 2. They never missed a towel or a service as some hotels tend to do if you leave the room too late. I rated it a 4 because the night desk could use a little bit more service training as they tend not to communicate with guests and can sometimes get caught up in their own conversations rather than one with the guest.
