Very clean and friendly. Booking online gets you the best price. Unlike most HIE this one has ice cream socials at night and other free amenities like a complimentary beer or bottle water at check-in. In the morning there is the basic breakfast but you can dine inside or outside. I will definitely refer friends and family to stay here when visiting Busch Gardens which is right down the road or the New Tampa area.

The BEST Holiday Inn I ever stayed!!  Definitely one of the Top 5 hotels I ever stayed as well! On our tri-yearly drive down from NYC to Southwest Florida, we decided to keep pushing until we stopped in Tampa -not our usual stopping point b/c it's only 2 hours from our final destination.  But, are we glad we did!!  Upon walking in, tired and with lots of overnight bags, we were welcomed by friendly staff.  It was 1am, and it was still full of people... not just the usual skeleton crew of one dude that serves that the maintenance person and everything.  Also, there was a huge group of middle-school lacrosse players ... I guess there was a tournament in town or something?  We asked if we could NOT have the room near them, and they already had that covered before we asked!  The check-in was quick and easy, even with no reservation.  But the best part???  We were offered a FREE beer upon check in!!  NEVER has that happened before, even when staying in ultra-expensive places.  The room was large and smelled nice.  Bed was comfy.  The outdoor area with the pool is beautiful!  I'm not sure if the pool was heated or not... at 1am and it was like 40 degrees out, we were not planning on swimming anyway.  There are lots of restaurants in the area.... Even though Tampa is not our usual stop, we are season ticket Tampa Bay Buccaneers holders, and go to several games a year.  This will become our new hotel (even though there are many more closer to the stadium.)  WILL BE BACK FOR SURE!!!

My husband, preschooler son and I came to this restaurant while my husband was on R&R from Afghanistan.  The hotel is amazing for a Holiday Inn.  I was very impressed with our check in, the hospitality was beyond words.  The front desk lady was SOOOO nice.

Pros:  The rooms were standard, but the beds were comfortable.  The room was very clean, the breakfast was good.  The pool area was also very nice.

Cons: I had to wash my husband's army uniforms and they only have one washer and dryer for the entire hotel, I had to wait for 3 people in front of me to finish their laundry.  It doesn't make or break a stay, but it really makes it difficult.

The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.  A bit more attention needs to be paid to the cleaning. The edges of the carpet are dirty and in the bathroom there was a major dust pile on the pipes. One wash cloth was pretty badly stained and should be take out of circulation. The one chair in the room is shredding and should also be removed. Breakfast was average and while there was lots of seating it was busy and filled in quickly. The food was average, the eggs were cold.

You might think someone rating a Holiday Inn Express with 5 stars was crazy but that would only be the case if you hadn't stayed at this location yet. There is a reason this location is the #1 hotel on TripAdvisor for hotels in Tampa. Yes, it is #1 & has been for years. They even have a huge book of thank you letters in the front lobby written by past guests.

How about a free bottled water or beer at the front desk when you check in to your room? How about coming back later to the front desk for free ice cream? These are just two things this place does to set themselves apart from the rest of the blah hotel choices. The free breakfast kicks ass too. Pancakes, Cinamon buns, cereal... lots of choices!

Every single staff member makes you feel welcomed & at home. The hotel is even walking distance from a very nice movie theater & several restaurant options. I have stayed here 3 or 4 times and would not stay anywhere else in Tampa as long ad they are there. The rooms are clean & the staff is awesome, what more could you ask for?

This was probably one of the best hotels in terms of service I have ever stayed at.  Every staff member I had an encounter with was EXTREMELY friendly and always asked how my stay was and if I needed anything else.

Upon check in we were all offered a beer (a first!)  Judy was working at the front desk and she took a genuine interest in how we were doing, where we were from, etc.  The room was clean and nice (what you would expect from a Holiday Inn).  The TV was a modern flat screen around 32-40 inches and came equipped with DirectTV, guide, HBO channels, etc.

The breakfast was delicious and when they ran out of the egg with cheese in it I simply asked if there were any more and she brought some right out.  On our last day there the general manager came through the breakfast area and stopped to ask how were doing, how our stay was going and if he could get us anything.

I would highly recommend this hotel.  The staff makes the experience well worth staying here!

This was a pretty great Holiday Inn. The people were nice, the location is convenient, and it is very clean. Definitely aging, but still good.

The room was great and the beds comfortable. The complimentary shower items were better than some of my own. The shower didn't have great water pressure or temperature, unfortunately.

Wifi was a little slow, so plan ahead if you need to get work done. Free ice cream, though, so it's probably worth it.

They deserve five stars,  very nice hotel, spacious rooms, comfy beds, free Internet, and free breakfast for a reasonable price.

This Holiday Inn Express is tucked away off of Bruce B Downs. Stayed here April 9th in one of the suites.

The hotel was nice and clean. Then we got to our room. The door would not close properly. They couldn't do anything about it at 9 pm at night. They didn't seem to worried about it since it was able to lock. It wasn't secured though like a normal door.

The air conditioner made an awful rattling noise. I had to get up in the middle of the night a couple of times to kick it to shut it up.

Wouldn't stay here again. Figured it was too good to be true with 5 stars. At least my kids enjoyed the pool.

Best hotel I have ever stayed at.  Who else gives you free beers and free ice cream everynight? I was bummed that our room didn't have a refrigerator, so we asked for one, and they gave us a brand new one the next day and threw in a microwave too! Such friendly staff and a manager who cares.  They really do want you to enjoy your stay, don't hesitate to ask for anything you need! We loved it.
The location is outside of Tampa, and it is about 1 hour away from Indian Rocks Beach, 45 minutes away from Clearwater Beach, and 1 1/2 hours away from Siesta Key, but overall, we felt it was worth it to have the best hotel possible, even if we had to drive to some of the attractions.  Stay here, you won't regret it!
Wifi is available only in the rooms though, we couldn't connect in the lobby or dining area.
