Got the room for a great price on Priceline. Had to wait about 20 min at the airport for the shuttle which was ok (it was free). Nice lady for the shuttle ride but we had to drop some folks off at the Yankees park. This added 20 min to the ride but we were not in any hurry so it was fine. Room was clean but a little old but still a-ok. Had a very nice pre cruise visit and the staff was great. We had no car so walked to ihop for dinner which was close and easy to get to.  Front desk called for a cab the next day to take us to the port. All in all I would recommend this hotel for the $59 we paid on Priceline actually I would have paid $80.

Just stayed one night, but everything was great!  The room was big, the TV was state of the art, the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable and staff was friendly, helpful and courteous.  This hotel is classy and cozy, and all at a decent price.  Definitely would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Obviously a massive reno to a older hotel.  Room was big, clean, Massive LCD TV.  King size room came with comfy couch, small bar and properly lit, something that never seems to happen at hotels.

The Hyatt Place hotels, I suppose are going for the BB and feel; by situating the check-in desk closely to a small lounge and "kitchen"; a place where tea, coffee, and limited food menu are available 24h.

Free airport shuttle and continental brekkie.  Rate is fair, but is a slightly upper scale hotel.

Wish I stayed here longer... Totally did not expect a a huge junior suite with separate living room set up. Bath products included toothpaste! Within a walking distance to a huge mall with plenty of options for lunch. Taxi to downtown Tampa is only $12. Helpful customer service.

Cleanliness: Good

Location: In the heart of it all

Great place to stay near everything, junior suite with separate living room, very cool, very comfortable. Huge Flat Screen TV 50 inches......

I was expecting a mediocre hotel but was pleasantly surprised throughout most of my stay. If you get a good price for your stay, which I did, it makes this place even more worthwhile. Stayed here during a spring training visit to see my beloved Yankees and would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in town. Here's the rundown.

The Good:
- Big, clean room with a huge flatscreen tv, big couch, a sizeable desk to do work, and a small bar area with fridge.
- Friendly front desk and manager service.
- Complimentary continental breakfast. Selection is okay.
- Shuttle service, including to the TPA airport and local area.
- Location, close to the International Plaza and baseball/football stadiums.

The Not as Good:
- We had a mix up with the shuttle service when they were picking us up at the baseball stadium that resulted in us waiting over an HOUR for them to pick us up. I was pretty peeved, but they (the FD and shuttle driver) remained courteous and apologetic. Things will inevitably go wrong, but customer service is all about attitude... as in, don't give me any and we'll be okay. Well done, Hyatt.

My only issue is that the double rooms do not have queen size beds.. so if you are a couple you want to make sure you get a single..

Rooms are clean , sofa, hdlcd tvs, fridge.. free parking.. free breakfast with hot sandwiches

The staff is really perky and always happy. If something goes wrong, they go out of the way to fix it. I ordered dinner from the room. When I came down to pick it up, I brought a wine bottle and asked them to pop the cork. The cork screw failed and ruined the wine. They gave me free dinner and a free bottle of wine. Decent food from the hotel, I ordered: mushroom n brie soup, turkey salad, bacon burger, and fruit.

Great sized rooms. This place is very clean which is very important for me to see. I love love love that they are dog friendly. Yes there is a charge but in my opinion it's a better option than boarding for me personally. The breakfast is ok but lacking vegetarian options in my opinion. I think its great that they have a 24 hour exercise room. It's small but would work in a pinch.  Two things kept this place from getting 5 stars from me. 1. I asked for a wake-up call for an important event. It never came. We had also set an alarm as a back up so  we made it on time but that is an important detail. 2. We listened to the people above us make hard pounding noise for 20 minutes before calling the front desk to ask them to see if they could get them to chill out. Another 20 minutes go by with no response and the pounding (it sounded like kids chasing each other). It was late and very annoying. Not really the hotels fault but we felt they could have called them or something. Overall I will definitely come back to this hotel when in the area.

My BF and I stayed here. I love the Hyatt Place, very nice size rooms for what you pay. Great location, we were near shopping, eats, and airport and took an Uber to a local nightclub. For some reason at this hotel I kept sneezing like CRAZY!! When I left the room, it stopped. When I returned I started sneezing really bad. I am not sure if it was a pet or what. My BF didn't have any issues.  It was awful and made my experience horrible.

Hyatt Tampa
We booked at the Hyatt Place for a few reasons. Location, price and decent looking rooms and reviews. Check in was a breeze because we were prepaid on Priceline.com . The front desk staff were friendly and professional. We needed a crib and they brought it up very quickly.
Basic king rooms were roomy and comfortable. Bathroom was in the rear of the room and super small.  It was a really weird set up but it worked for the one night we were there. Bed was comfortable. Fridge and sink area were a nice bonus. One thing that I have never run into before was there was no safe. We looked everywhere and came to the conclusion tang there wasn't one. That was a small issue for us since we had quite a bit of cash on us as well as electronics that we would have liked to keep in a safe while we were at dinner, breakfast, the pool. Instead we had to bring our large bag with us.
The included breakfast was TERRIBLE. So so so bad. Food that should be warm was cold. Food that should have been cold was warm.
It was completely disgusting. I ended up with a dried out bagel with warm cream cheese and the only thing I dared feed my son was toast with peanut butter. The floor was so sticky that I'm afraid my shoes will never be the same.
They either need to greatly improve breakfast or do away with it all together.
We used the pool which was a little cold and had a few leaves in it but was a nice thing to have to take a quick dip with our son who loves water.  Parking lot was decent, safe and FREE.

We stayed for 1 night in June.  The staff are super friendly and helpful. The check in process went flawlessly. However,  the big surprise was our room. Spacious,  clean, comfortable. ..... What else could you ask for? The free breakfast was a huge plus as we were traveling with 2 teenagers. Overall,  a great stay at a very good price.

We have stayed at this hotel twice now. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean. They do offer free breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, juices, hot breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, waffles and pastries. There is also a pool and a small work out room with cardio equipment and some free weights. This hotel is very reasonable priced for family's or just a couples weekend get away. I will stay here again.

The hotel had a spacious room with a really nice design.  The staff was always friendly with greetings and checking on our needs.   I found the breakfast to be a step above the usual free morning fare as well.

A clean, comfortable, reasonably priced hotel convienently located for the business traveler.

Staff was always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and housekeeping is very good as well. Air conditioning works well (and has the added bonus of providing white noise, which is a necessity for me when staying at any hotel). Free in-room Wi-Fi and breakfast also.

The only complaint I can think of was that on my first night there, my bedding absolutely reeked of bleach. Otherwise, not a bad place at all.

Very nice hotel with large rooms and a super friendly staff!  I was staying over due to an early connection at TPA and was a little bummed that the hotel didn't have shuttle service until well after my flight departure time.  Other than that, it was a very nice stay and the room was fantastic!

Hyatt Place was a great place for my family and I to get from Tampa Airport, spend a day at Busch Gardens and get to the cruise ship for our vacation.  Near the hotel there is a mall about a 0.5 mile away with many food options, as well as an Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, a Mexican bistro, and Ruth Chris Steakhouse right at the entrance way to the hotel.  The staff was exceptionally helpful with any question we had in regards to how to get around (outside the 3mi radius the shuttle will handle) and with any other ways to accommodate us during the visit.  Breakfast was very well stocked and the staff was very friendly to ensure all the food was enjoyable.  There is no question if we were to repeat a trip to Tampa this would be a great place to stay based on convenience and the staffs helpfulness.  Another nice feature was the downstairs lounge that supplied a few different bottled beer options, wine selection and small food/dessert options for the late traveler just wanting something quick.  The only reason for the lower than 5 star rating is based on what runways the airport is using there can be some loud noises from the jets taking off a little early in the morning for those who may sleep light.

Excellent stay at this Hyatt Place!  The customer service was exceptional and the rooms were perfect for our needs.  Even the pull out couch was high end quality!

The all you can eat free breakfast is a cut above the normal with premade grilled breakfast sandwiches, eggs, sausages, yogurt, different kinds of bread for toasting, all kinds of pastries and muffins, juices, milk, coffee, etc!

As for the customer service, I had called ahead to make sure that we got adjoining rooms and asked about early check-in since we had to be at a wedding right around the time of the normal check-in.  I was advised to call that morning on our way to Tampa from Miami and the gentleman said he would do his best to accommodate us.  I called and even though one of the two rooms wasnt ready, he allowed us to check-in as soon as we got in so we could use the one room to get ready.  It was perfect!

We used Hotwire and got a great price for our rooms!

Upon arrival and showing the front desk our reservation confirmation for a king suite, they told us they did not have any king beds left.  After much discussion, we settled for two double beds, which were uncomfortable to say the least - my husband is 6'4".  They did little to try and accommodate or make up for what was clearly their wrong doing.  Will not stay there again.

Nice setting inside the room, although it's a bit small for the price we paid for. Nice TV and the separated working corner. The AC unit was super loud and we weren't able to sleep at all, so it was either we get some quietness in a hot sauna room or we get some cool air but feel like staying in an engine room. I am not sure if every room has the same AC unit and we were only staying for one night, so we didn't bother to call the front desk for help. The staffs are very friendly and always smiley. Would give this place another try if they have a quieter AC unit in other rooms. We were too lazy to wake up to try their free breakfast, but we have heard good reviews from other guests.

We stayed here for one night on a spur of the moment trip.  Exceptionally clean and well appointed. Check-in clerk was polite and efficient. At check in we received a hand-written note from the Sales Director which included a buy one get one half-off room service coupon and a free Starbucks drink coupon. The room was clean, modern and spacious.  The king-size bed was comfortable.  It was an east-facing room, and we would have appreciated room-darkening shades.  Next time we'll request a west-facing room to avoid the early morning sunlight.

The TV was a large LG flat panel with a pivot mount so it could be seen from the entire room and an external jack panel. We didn't need this, but if one was giving an in-room business presentation, it would be quite helpful.
The noon check out was greatly appreciated.

Breakfast is included and served in a dedicated space off the lobby.  It was just OK.  The pancakes were obviously machine made and were less than fresh.  The sound the pancake made when hitting the plate was reminiscent of those "fresh-baked"cookies Alice on the Brady Bunch used to plate straight from the oven.  The fruit was gooshy, and I avoided it because it didn't taste very good either.  My husband, for some reason, thought it would be a good idea to have a bowl if it.  Mistake!  He paid for it dearly all afternoon and evening.  We're figuring it had to be the fruit due to its "off" texture and odd taste, plus we shared everything else we had all day, and I was fine but he was not.  Bummer because we had to miss a fun evening with friends as a result. :(.

We decided to grab our free Starbucks on the way out and were surprised to find all the chairs at the coffee bar *on the coffee bar* as were with the chairs in the breakfast area.  We were a bit surprised because breakfast service had ended 2 hours earlier.  The desk clerk ended up making the latte.  The desk clerk should stick to desk clerking; he made a poor barista.

On future visits, we will steer clear of the complimentary breakfast and make sure to hit the coffee bar earlier in the morning.  Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed here during our very brief trip to Tampa and had an awful experience.  The staff was nice enough but our room was dirty, including a toilet seat with urine stains!  We called the front desk to report it and they said they would send someone to clean it, but first they sent a manager to check out if our story was true.  She uttered with surprise, "oh there ARE stains" before sending someone.  We were nervous about what else wasn't clean so we checked out shortly after, asking for a refund.

A couple weeks later, I checked my bank statement but there was still no money return.  I called the place to clear up the matter but no one seemed to have any recollection of the incident.  They didn't have any record of it and later my boyfriend and I realized they had credited the money to his account, even though I paid.

Stay here if you have to, but I wouldn't do it willingly.

Close to airport! 5 steakhouses with in walking distance. The counter people are wonderful and cheery to Welcome you. For being close to an airport it is quiet compared to most hotels near airports. It is about a $20 taxi ride to the Forum if you are going to a game and the Taxi's are available at the Forum to come back.

Shuttle will take you anywhere with in a 3 mile ratios and that covers most of what you need at an airport hotel.

Stayed here prior to a cruise in February 2015.  Check-in was fast and professional.  The room was large and clean.  The hotel was located close to a major mall and a smaller mall with some good eating places.

The breakfast was outstanding with many selections.

They allowed me to park my car for 14 days as part of the snooze and cruise package.  The shuttle service to and from the port was just great.  The pick up was done by one phone call, and within 15 minutes we were picked up.

We will be glad to stay there again.

I stay at this hotel during Gasparilla and it is always clean and pleasant. I love that this hotel is pet friendly as I always bring my dog with me for the this trip. They have a nice area in the back to take your pet out for quick potty runs (baggies available) and Al Lopez park is not too far away for a good long walk to tire out your furry friend. Make sure to check your pet in as they give you a pet sign so that house keeping is aware.

We stayed one night. The service staff definitely get 5 stars. The hotel itself try's to be a Hyatt, but it isn't. The room we had was spacious but furniture and interior were outdated and need a refresh. The breakfast was great though.

Is this the only hotel that has any rooms available? Is this your only option or else you will have to sleep in your car?  If that's the case, then this hotel will work.  Go ahead and get a room here.  HOWEVER, if you can search around, keep going. This place is, at best, decent.
The Pros: Good size room, big TV, hot breakfast, room was quiet considering it is in the flight path of Tampa International Airport
The Cons: Room service missed several items, several times, no hot tub, cold non heated pool (in March) old outdated gym with minimal equipment (see photo), old outdated bathroom
I was here for 6 nights. Wish I had found something a little more modern with better amenities.

I stayed here on a recent work trip and this hotel definitely met my needs for a couple of nights. As a business traveler (that makes me sound like I'm important) it's important to have things like free wifi and complimentary breakfast and a shuttle to the airport. These are all things I appreciated while staying there.

I never stayed at a Hyatt Place prior to this trip and I was pretty impressed with my experience there. The service was always good and I was always greeted by the front desk staff. The night we checked in I asked one of the employees for a good restaurant recommendation. If you want the usual stuff you can walk right outside your hotel room and find places that you can probably find at home. The employee directed us to a legit Cuban restaurant. I appreciated that so much because I hate traveling and eating stuff that I can eat at home. He understood my struggle.

The room itself was pretty nice and pretty spacious. There was a big couch and a full workstation with a fridge and sink. The bed was comfortable and there was enough room for me to be comfortable and even work out. Yes, I'm one of those people that take my fitness bands with me when I travel.

The complimentary breakfast was ok. It was what was to be expected for a complimentary breakfast. Cereal, bagels, coffee, juices, some egg sandwiches. Nothing too fancy but just enough before you go into your big important meeting or what not.

I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Tampa for work.
