We stayed at this hotel when we spent the weekend in Tampa to go to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island.  The rooms are great!  The main room with the bed has a divider for a large couch and desk and wine bar area.  There is a large flat screen available for viewing in either "room".  The only complaint is the size of the bathroom.  The shower and toliet are in a small confined room.  There is plenty of room for the sink which is outside the bathroom.

They also provide a good complimentary breakfast with cereals, breads and danish.

The hotel was clean and quiet.  They also have security walking the parking lot at night to ensure the safety of the hotel and vehicles.

Oh, the best part, 100 bucks out the door.

NIce clean room, friendly and accomodating staff. Has a free shuttle to Busch Gardens every hour and is just a couple minutes from the park.  Free parking and a decent pool area made this a great value. The only think I didn't like was the size of the bathroom, it was quite small. Close to a variety of restaurants and supermarket (rooms have a small fridge so you can stock up on your own goods).

Recently my husband and I stayed at this place and it was one of the better hotels that we've stayed at in the US. I had everything that a guest would want from a large clean room with a flat screen TV with lots of channels to a pool and fitness center. The room we got was huge and had a couch in it, a mini fridge, great a/c (a must in FL. when it's hot), a coffee maker with coffee, and a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast consisted of bread, bagels, mini muffins and danishes, fruit, juice, fresh bananas, apples, and oranges, coffee, tea, various cereals, oatmeal, and milk. They serve breakfast until 9:30.

They also have free wi-fi and the place is within walking distance to CVS and a few restaurants and a deli. If you don't have a car to get around and are stuck there, you don't have to walk far to get something if you'd rather not order room service or if you happened to forget to bring something like deodorant.

Also, the staff is nice and friendly. The room service menu has limited options, but I won't knock them down any stars for that. The price for our room was booked through a hotel site, I can't recall which one, but we got this huge luxurious room for only $89.00-:D I also loved the fact that I had the pool all to myself most of the time which was a big surprise to me. I guess since we were there mostly during the weekdays, it wasn't as busy. We'd go back here again if we ever go back to FL. for future business trips.

Sometimes the gods of Hotwire.com just smile on you. Here, they did so in the form of a $47/night sweet. ...I mean suite. (No, I really do mean sweet.)

So the room was clean, spacious, and wonderful. Stylish but minimal. Comfy bed, minifridge, pull-out couch, and a fantastic HD flat-screen to which we immediately hooked up an Xbox 360.  Sheesh, even the ice buckets were adorable.

Free breakfast is continental done right: fresh Florida citrus, breads, yogurt, juices, Tazo teas, coffee, etc. And if you want something a little more hearty, you can order incredibly affordable room service at this cute little coffee bar/kitchen they have open 24/7 which also sells grab & go food and drinks.

Spacious, well-designed lobby area with plenty of areas for families to pour out of their minivans and spread out in their own little space... or for a guest to use the free wi-fi on her laptop in her own quiet nook.

Simply excellent staff-- attentive and kind. The checkout lady got elated and a bit verklempt when I told her how much we loved our stay. Speaking of checkout, they have those automated kiosks by the front doors so if you're running late/see a long line/ don't want to interact with another human, you can take care of your business with the touch-screen. But interact with the humans; they're so dang nice.

To start off on a positive note the breakfast here is far better than most other hotel chains and it is very clean but that is were the good ends. We stay there 3 days 2 nights, the first day there 1 elevator broke, and the other was so slow the wait times were up to 20 mins (never got fixed while we were there) Online they say there is a coffee and alcohol bar... FAIR WARNING: they only know how to make 2 or 3 coffees and only offer 1 yes one type of wine. Then there is the "shuttle" we asked for it several times and every time it was going to be a 4-5 hour wait before they could get to us....Also the pool is no were even close to the size or as nice as they show online. For 200$ a night this place was not even close to worth it. Could have spent way less at other places and still had a working elevator and still drove ourselves around. Very disappointed. Also they put a 30.00 charge on my card the day we arrived and said once we pd out it would be put back we checked out on sunday morning and it is now Tues afternoon, the money is still not back in my account.

A very nice 3 star hotel, reasonably priced and clean. Excellent, friendly staff! Right across the street from the Univ South Florida campus.
My room was clean and fresh. Comfortable beds, huge couch, desk, fridge, flat screen. Small bathroom but it works and was clean. Free breakfast with Starbucks coffee a plus . Pool is small but quaint and clean. I slept good here.
The staff was the best. No nasty people here. Recommended!

The good:  Room concept is great. Large sectional, half wall, then two beds.

The rest:  room 505.  Filthy, filthy carpet in room. Asked for more coffee to be brought up, twice. Never came. Heavy storm, window and the area ceiling spewed water into the room onto the ac unit. Nice. Mildew in shower, the bath floor, and ceiling. The safe is placed directly under the pipes of the bar sink.  Doesn't seem like a great placement... Doors are Loud and Slam. A lot.

The breakfast was doable. The wheat based breakfast sandwiches were legit and they had a healthy option, which is appreciated. Fresh fruit, great coffee, and cottage cheese. Didn't look at much else, as it was the standard carb/sugar bombs like donuts, muffins, frosted flakes, white breads and bagels.

The lobby area is nice and comfy to sit a while. Bar area for a quick drink is nice. Staff is nice. Computer and printer to do boarding passes was great.

Summary:  hotel concept is great. However, the room was filthy. I would not walk in bare feet here.  Ever. And if you need something, don't count on it coming...not even a follow up call to say they can't/won't bring up the coffee pods I asked twice for...

Nice place.  Hyatt's have generally been good overall as I've traveled.  I would recommend them to someone - probably not my first choice but a decent one though.   The walls are fairly thin (but where are they thick at any hotel), cable/TV is good, bathrooms are a 3 out of 5 but the biggest gripe I have is their internet.  They seem to be going after the business traveler (big screen TV's with all the jacks to plug you laptop into, etc.) and they can't upgrade their internet service to provide decent bandwith?  Come on.  This is the 21st century!  Other than that everything inside looked maintained and updated, outside maybe could have used some work.  The pool looked like a place that you might want to go to if the tub isn't big enough but overall I think it's a 3.5 rounded up to 4 when you take into account everything.

Very nice hotel and very friendly, professional staff. I've stayed at a Hyatt Place before in Utah. The rooms were identical. I chose the Hyatt Place because I like the set up of the rooms. The TV is located in the middle and it can swivel. I looked at other hotels trying to find a hotel with a separate seating area (a couch WITH a TV) and I wasn't able to find one.

The hotel was clean. There was a free breakfast but it was only available from 6:30 to 9:30. This hotel also has a late checkout - noon time.

A side note: there is no vending machines on the floors. You'll have to go down to the lobby and buy it from their store down there.

Our family of five needed a place to stay while we went to Busch Gardens.  Sometimes I go with Hotwire to get rooms, but I saw the Hyatt Place had a great deal on their website.  We got a nice package that include "pool view", late check out and two drink coupons.

This is a newer hotel.  The ladies checking us in were very friendly.  Since this was our first times staying at a Hyatt Place we got a tour of what they offer in the lobby.  They have a breakfast area where you are free to come down and take any of those dishes, glasses or silverware that you may need during your stay.  There is also a coffee and wine & beer bar in the lobby.  They have some food items to purchase as well.

When we walked into the room my son was very impressed with the size of the tv.  I'm guessing it was around 50".  The layout of the room is such where the two double beds are on one side of the room, the tv is in the middle and a nice sized couch and ottoman are in the entryway.  Opposite the couch is a desk and a wet bar.  The bathroom is opposite the beds and the sink is located outside the bathroom.

The breakfast was fine, the usual hotel breakfast selection.  Although the only hot item available was biscuits and gravy.  You could order other hot items, but they cost money.  I did hear that the hot breakfast items were half off that morning.

They do have a shuttle, but we used our own car.  The hotel is down the road from Busch Gardens.  It's right across the street from the Yeungling brewery. Just up the street there are a number of fast casual places to grab a bite to eat.  There's a CVS right next door for those last minute purchases.

Even though we didn't spend much time at the hotel, we really enjoyed our stay.  It's hard to find places where a family of five can fit comfortably in a hotel room.  It did get a little loud at night, but hey it's a Saturday night.

After reading many positive reviews me and my wife decided to book two night here to celebrate new years 2015. The room was not bad but nowhere near $179 a night. Allow me to explain. For starters the breakfast that was included in the price was pathetic. The eggs were powered, all of the food that was supposed to be hot wasn't even warm. The staff had a hard time keeping fresh silverware stocked and what little food they offered. This breakfast is not worth spending the extra money in booking this hotel. The shuttle service left us at bush gardens new years eve because they claim we didn't make reservations to and from because there shuttle bus could only hold 8 people. We went to the front desk and watched them put our name and room number on the schedule and they still were able to screw that up. I had to call the hotel at 12:20 a.m. 01--1-2015 and spoke with one of the managers about our situation being stranded after making reservations and she wasn't even apologetic. She told me to get a cab and the hotel would reimburse me. I explained to her there were no cabs in sight and she claimed there was nothing she could do. We had to walk to the hotel 1/2 mile away on new years, thanks hyatt..
Our bathroom was so small you couldn't even close the door without having to step into the shower. Also at 3:30 a.m. there is a very loud train that comes through and blows a very loud horn that alarmed everyone we spoke with staying at the hotel. After this experience we will Never book anything with hyatt because it was very disappointing after spending $400 for 2 nights to receive this kind of service... One has to wonder with all of the positive reviews why there were no negative reviews because most places have them regardless.. Save yourself a headache and book elsewhere...

The area around the hotel isn't the best if you are looking for a view, but the benefits of taking the complimentary shuttle to the parks far outweighs it! The hotel itself is new, clean, and has a contemporary flare as far as decor. The hallways even smell great too! The staff is super nice and friendly also! I would absolutely recommend this hotel. We traveled a mere 20 minutes into the downtown Bay Area to go to the nicer restaraunts for dinner. But definitley enjoyed the free breakfasts at the hotel were delicious, and again...free!

We loved everything about this hotel!!! The location is perfect for Busch gardens! It has great restaurants around it or eat at the hotel with the meals they offer ( it looked good but didn't get to try anything). Our room was VERY spacious and perfect for us traveling with our active one year old. Friendly staff. I would absolutely stay here again!!!!!!

My husband had a business trip in Tampa recently. The three of us, myself, husband and 2 1/2 year old joined him. We stayed for 3 nights. Upon check in, Michael was very kind, very knowledgable and professional. He gave us a quick tour of the dining area, bar and pool. We were told that they were still undergoing some renovations to upgrade the hotel and we may hear some construction going on between the hours of 9 am - 6 pm. We did not hear a thing. We were given a room on the 5th floor which has been completely renovated about two weeks prior to our stay.

A three star hotel that feels like much more!

Upon walking into the room, I was very pleased. It was clean, modern and loved the layout. The carpet is brand new, everything was brand new and the flat panel TV is a large size. The room does lack a microwave. However, you can go down to the lobby to use the microwave.

The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were very flat and uncomfortable.
They need to upgrade those too!

Wi-Fi i is free!

The bathroom is very small. It has what you need in there, a toilet and shower. Outside is the sink and vanity. So, that's fine. My husband who is an architect by trade did mention a couple of design flaws that I would not have noticed. The bathroom door is too large for the bathroom as it's quite small. The faucet in the sink is too small and placed in the wrong position.

We had a pool view. Which was nice. Unfortunately, our room was right next to the ice vending machine. The first night I did not hear too much of the ice being dispensed from the vending machine, but as the remainder of our stay went on, It started to become quite an annoyance to keep hearing people get their ice. Not a big deal really. My son slept through it and my husband did as well. I just put in my ear plugs.

The last night there was a noisy group on our floor or above our room. They were loud, yelling, banging things, sounded like they were moving around furniture or something and music was loud. I had to call the front desk to complain.

Overall, I enjoyed our stay there. It was new, clean and modern. The staff was very nice and professional except for one young girl. As I checked out with my toddler (my husband was still in his meeting) I was telling my son to stop touching things in their cooler. I had a long day and I had some bags to carry out to the car as well. I was really exhausted. The young girl. I think her name is Ashley. Not sure. She heard me telling my son "Don't touch that" and she has the nerve to say to me "You really should not tell him that, because that is just going to want to make him want to do it more. You should tell him to look at something else." I was in shock that this young twit would tell me how to parent my child! I just gave her a quick look and told her "I usually am very good at redirecting my son, but I have had a long day chasing him around and I am about done."
She had some nerve. I don't even think she has children and even if she does, she should mind her own business. Anyway, other than that little girl trying to tell me how to speak to my child, we had a good experience.

The breakfast is served from 6:30am to 9:30am and is quite good. There is hot food as well as fruits and Starbucks coffee! There was a man there by the name of Jonathan who went above and beyond each morning and warmed up my son's milk for me. He was very sweet.

There is a park close by called "Hampton Park" off Tampa Palms Blvd on the right. It's a great little park to take your little ones if you need to travel with them. We also visited the Florida Aquarium. We paid extra for the Penguin encounter. It was well worth it. Very pricey though.

Over all, loved this hotel. I highly recommend it! I left off one star only because of the young girl who needs to mind her business.

Great value. A three star hotel with 5 star perks.

Sure, one elevator was out. Ok, one of the hinges in the bathroom is rusty. Yes, the comfy, stylish cotton throw provided has loose threads and a ratty edge. You're right the doors ARE LOUD & the pool is small. and there are some dings in the furniture and stains on some upholstery. BUT - this is a THREE star hotel. And for this price, I have never stayed in a nicer place with better details:
Real silver ware and dishes and upholstered seating in the breakfast bar.
Nice ambiance, tasteful touches all around.
Good linens.
Hot protein for breakfast.
Walking distance to several local well Yelped restaurants and USF.

Fantastic for this price.

This was my first time staying in a Hyatt Place.. We were there for the weekend..

I really enjoyed my stayed there.. The staff are very friendly n helpful.. They offered a free shuttle to Busch Garden n was willing to picked us up at 1115pm to returned to the hotel.. Great service:)

The room was very roomful.. I love the divided sitting area n bedroom area.. It was clean.. The bathroom was a bit small but it did it job..

What is great is the free breakfast that they offered between 7 n 10 everyday.. Good if you have small kids.. They offered some hot food as well as pastries.. I enjoyed that very much:)..

This hotel is kind of in a seedy part of town. It's very convenient to Busch Gardens and security is on site at night, but I wouldn't recommend walking outside at night in this part of town. Plus - it's right next to train tracks - we weren't bothered by them but our other room across the hall heard the train very early in the morning.

I am a Hyatt gold member and found this hotel to be a bit below standard for me. I believe there is a shortage of staff or a mismanagement of number of staff. Plus there really is no place to eat breakfast when there are more than 20 people at the breakfast, and the "free" shuttle was always booked (I heard people complaining about this). The room was clean and updated  but rather than central air conditioning, they have those in the wall air conditioning units you find in the really low budget hotels that take forever to cool the room.

I booked my two rooms via the Hyatt website and then called the hotel directly to inform them that I needed adjoining rooms (I was traveling with my teen daughter and her friends and wanted them attached to our room). The gal on the phone told me we would have to take one of the rooms as two doubles and the other as a king. I told her that would be no problem and she told me we were all set! She didn't tell me it was just a request or that they were sold out in two doubles which is what I was told when we arrived! I was furious to say the least as I've been to other hotels who honored this request without a problem and if there was an availability issue they told me up front. They got us two rooms across the hall from each other but frankly, I had a terrible night's sleep wondering if some rapist would knock on their door in the middle of the night. (Ok yes I know this is unrealistic but I didn't sleep!)

The room itself was fine / clean, updated, typical Hyatt Place layout with the sofa, desk, mini fridge etc.

The breakfast was very good, however as I stated earlier, we had to wait for someone to get up in order to sit down to eat breakfast as there aren't enough seats to accommodate all of their guests.

At check in, it seemed as if they were surprised that they had people checking in and a shuttle having to leave at the same time. The person checking us in was very harried and then the manager came over and said he would finish checking us in so that he could go drive the shuttle. Really? You can't afford to hire someone to drive the shuttle? We were going to consider using the shuttle but I had a vision of calling for the shuttle and waiting an hour. So we opted to drive to Busch Gardens and paid for the parking.

Oh, in the morning, when I called to check out - I had to call down 3 times before someone answered the phone. The first two times got a voice mail box. Next time to Busch Gardens, I'll probably try another hotel.

Very solid hotel for the money.

Suites are roomy and modern with large TV's, plenty of electronic hookups (in-wall HDMI) and sitting areas. Beds are very good. Staff was on point. WIFI was decent.

The breakfast is pretty good with some hot-grilled items. It's a packed madhouse down there though (extremely limited seating), so it makes much more sense to simply bring your food back up to your room. Buffet Coffee was watery - yucky at best...I recommend spending the money on fresh Starbucks which they offer as an upgrade behind the counter.

The in-room A/C units are somewhat meh. We had to change rooms at 11pm when ours stopped cooling. Manager brought us new keys in 5 minutes though, so I can't really ding them for that.

Area is sketch, but this is kindof an oasis and you'd most likely be using this as a "base" anyway.

More of a 3.5

Located in a main road close to Yuengling Brewery and Busch Gardens in the distance, there isn't much within walking distance but there is a WaWa and a deli you can easily walk to.

The lobby is a decent size, but not grand.  While looking at the hotel's website, I expected a restaurant to get food.  In actuality it is a bar in the lobby with a couple of tables.  I ordered a burger since i was short on time and starving.  If you must order food, it's best to call ahead because it takes awhile.  The burger was not all that good...honestly I'm not even sure if it was all beef.  After a few bites, I discovered the piece of wax paper that normally separates frozen burgers....not a good experience.  I also grabbed a cupcake that looked really yummy in the display case and it was totally stale and dry.  I did hear the that the soup and pizza wasn't bad.  Breakfast had some decent options, with a couple of single serving eggs on english muffins, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, bread, donuts, coffee, juice and tea.  Breakfast is free and was good.

On to the rooms. Rooms are very spacious  With a large couch, desk, little kitchen area with a sink and refrigerator, king bed and a small bathroom.  The large TV in the middle swerved so you can enjoy it either from bed or the couch.  The single cup coffee maker produces some nice hot water, but it was dirty and I needed to wash it before I would use it.  The phones, also looked totally dirty.  Otherwise the room was clean.

The hotel also offers free WiFi and a shuttle that is available for locations close to the hotel.  All in all, it's a good option if you are looking for a spacious room in the area.

Stayed here for a few nights while we were in Tampa - nice clean, modern rooms. This place is perfect for families - our room had 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. Beds were REALLY comfy. The only complaint about the room is that the bathroom and shower area are TINY!

They have a complimentary breakfast every morning which was fantastic (bagels, muffins, toast, cereal, oatmeal, and breakfast sandwiches along with lots of tea and coffee).

They also have a complimentary shuttle to Busch gardens but make sure you reserve a ride on the way back since they don't make trips 15 minutes after the park closes. No laundry on site and the laundromat across the street charges $11 for one load of washing and drying so make sure to find a laundromat a 2 or 3 miles away from the hotel! Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!
