For the price it was great.  we landed in Tampa at 9 pm and did not have a room or a ride from the airport.  We called the hotel and asked if they would pick us up.  There was a van there within 20 mins to get us.  The room was just your basic room nothing special but it was clean.  We were in Florida to go on a cruise that was leaving the next morning.  For $8 a person we got a ride from the hotel the port.  The best part was we didn't have any reservations for any of this and they just did it.  If we ever fly in to Tampa to go a cruise this would be a place to stay again.

Great service, good location, very affordable (about $65 for us), clean rooms, comfortable sleep, wonderful selection of breakfast, AAA discount available, and points with Choice Rewards. They have shuttle service to the airport and cruise. Definitely a good place to stay the night if you are in the Tampa area.

My son and I stayed here. Only bad thing was that when plugged in, the coffee maker/fridge/microwave (there was one plug to plug in all 3 and I didn't have the energy to figure out which one it was) makes a clicking sound that my son couldn't sleep through. So we had to put the TV on at a low volume to get rest.

Other than that, our stay was great! I highly recommend this hotel.

I actually think this is a decent hotel for the price you pay, all rooms have double beds and for the most part, very clean and accommodating. I believe that the people who own this place (Indians) are very nice, they have a mango tree and jasmine bush and plumeria tree that I like

Now with that said I must say that they do have roaches in their rooms, and I'm talking about the German ones.  I let them know about the situation and they only offered to have me move rooms, and yes there were roaches there as well.  When I told them about this they politely told me that I could just leave, it was up to me.

Good for the money. 2-3 star place. Needs updating.  Older rooms with some current stuff going on.  If ur on a budget, good to go. Don't hesitate to spend one night. It's ok. But no palace.

I have been a choice hotels member since 2002. I booked a room for a convention several months ahead of time. I show at up 4:45 PM and there is no reservation in my name. So I have to go back to my car and dig it up. I dig up my number, and she replied "oh, we cancelled it at 4PM because your card was declined." Because of a security flag on my credit card, they cancelled my room right at 4:02 pm. I couldn't be reached because I was on an airplane. The manager let my room go the minute  he had the chance and basically kicked me to the curb, leaving me with no hotel room when everything in the area is sold out. You see, they can get more money for high demand rooms for people looking at the last minute. Did the front desk apologize? No. Did she offer to search other Choice hotels in the area? No. I called corporate customer relations, and they had the same unsympathic attitude, and offered no apology or help in finding another room in the area. So next time you book a room at this hotel or any Choice Hotel, remember that they will treat your reservation like a poker chip, and will let your room go to the next highest bidder when given the chance. They are not concerned about hospitality, they are all about fine print and profit.

Room was nice for the price

Check in staff was inept. Room was prepaid yet they swiped my card and charged it twice. When I called no apology was offered agent was rude. Five days later I still don't have my money. My advice pay cash or go elsewhere. They put a hold and a charge on my card at check in that is rediculous.

I spent hours reading reviews before I booked a room here because they all seemed pretty good. The location and neighborhood are sketchy. There are no elevators which is a pain. The carpet has stains all over it and is not clean. The bedspreads look gross. But OMG the smell!!!  I booked a non smoking room and it smells soooooo bad like I'm swimming in an ashtray. I was told the whole place is non smoking, apparently it isn't. I am now waiting in the room with the door wide open because the smell is so bad I can't take it for at least half an hour for another room to be cleaned so I can try to move.

I am staying one night and I have no idea where else to stay or I would leave here in a heart beat.

Later I was told that the hotel had become all nonsmoking that week and that the room had been smoking but had been painted and the carpet replaced. I told them it had made no difference.

We were moved to another room and it was much better smelled clean and like fresh paint? The bathroom was fine. I couldn't figure out how to get the fridge to turn on but it either had dirt or mold in it so I just left it. I will say a lot of places don't have fridges and microwaves so it's good to see that they did. Overall, it was like other reviews, good but outdated.

The staff were very nice and accommodating.

The breakfast was very nice. They had a good selection. Eggs, bagels, juice, fruit, waffles you can make, sausage, cereal, coffee.

We had a lot of problems with the wifi. We spoke to other guests they said the same thing. It would not stay connected. Had to reconnect again and again and the signal was very weak.

Good to stay here for a night.

Stay away!!!! I knew as soon as we pulled into the parking lot that this place was shady but we already prepaid and after a long day we were hungry and tired. Dropped off our luggage, went out to eat, came back to discover a ton of tiny bugs racing around in the bathroom sink and counter. Asked to be moved to another room but they say they are fully booked. Maintenance came to spray but says we should wait til morning since the fumes are strong. He claims they are sugar ants, don't look like ants to us!! Wish I could post the video here. Sleeping with all the lights on tonight and hope to get our money back for tomorrow, We just can't stay another night! Also saw some foreign men sitting and drinking in the back of a pick up truck in the parking lot. They were there before and after we went to dinner. This place may have been a Quality Inn in the 1970's but it's far from that now!

I stayed here for one night. I had to make a last minute reservation and they were one of the few reasonably priced last-minute hotels (after taxes I paid $94 for a regular room... considerably more than what other reviewers seemed to have paid). The receptionist at the front desk when I checked in was polite, helpful, and got me checked in 2 hours early.

My room could have been a little cleaner... while the linens were all very clean, the bathroom was a tad sketchy. I arrived to find hair in the sink and the toilet was a bit gross. I guess after paying $30 more on a non-holiday weeknight, I expected a little better.

The bed was comfortable and I slept well; however, I was woken at 5:45 am by a phone call from the front desk. I didn't answer it in time, and tried to go back to sleep. 10 minutes later, there was loud knocking at my door. I stumbled out of bed to answer the door - a hotel employee was telling me that my shuttle to the airport was leaving at 6. I'd arranged for my shuttle to pick me up at 10, not 6! It was one of my last days of vacation and was kind of bummed that one of my last sleep-in days was ruined.

I have a handful of friends in the hotel industry and I know it's tough, and that we all make mistakes... but, my stay definitely could have been better.

Worst place ever in this planet. And the funny part is we are still waiting to check in! It's been an hour! Don't go here.

Not a good hotel at all.
I got a bunch of grief over using the free hotel shuttle after dropping off my rental car.
They tried to charge me 12 dollars. I protested and pointed out that's it's advertised as a "free" airport shuttle.
Our room was filthy, and I mean real dirty.
We found drinks, glasses and leftover food from prior guests.
The breakfast was good and the front desk was nice.
I would not stay again and would not recommend.

Dirty. Dirty. Dirty.

Filthy carpets, previous guest's items left in room (glasses, Cheerios, and a diet sprite), dirty hand smears on shower curtain, and more.

What really tops it all off though was a RUDE shuttle driver.

Edit: just want to clarify that the morning shuttle driver who took us to cruise port was friendly and helpful. It was the late night airport shuttle driver that was a jerk.

I am a fan. Was here for a conference at the convention center and it pains me to pay a trillion dollars for a place to sleep and shower. The prices are still way high in my book (~100/night) especially for a well-worn motel,  but it was still much cheaper than the Marriott or similar downtown hotels. It may raise eyebrows at first, but after my first night there, I was totally great about being here the rest of my stay.
Here is what I liked:

1. there is a complimentary shuttle from the airport if you call from baggage claim area (blue or red) when you land. Easy breezy pickup in 15 minutes.
2. Really nice staff, who called to make sure I liked my room, which was cute.
3. it is by a lot of great places to get food: especially Wrights Deli!! And happy hour right next door on Wednesdays til 10pm.
4. Grocery store right around the corner
5. Non-sketchy area
6. Easy to get downtown for $2 on the 19 bus. I took the 30 bus from downtown to get back to the airport after presenting at my conference. Easy breezy.
7. Fridge/microwave if you like to buy food at a grocery store and get tired of eating out. Although that is hard to do with Wrights right down the street (see that review).

The only thing that was difficult was getting back home on the 19 bus, just because Dale Mabry is a 40mph road that is harder to cross due to its intersection with Henderson. I think I probably should have gotten off the bus at Henderson rather than directly across from the hotel because it was hard to cross that road at 6pm.

Everyone in Tampa is so nice! Really friendly city and easy to get around. I would stay here again if I have a conference in Tampa.
