I've stayed at this residence inn on various occasions. The location is very convenient, as it is very close to the international plaza and walking distance from restaurants like Texas de Brazil. I'm a residence inn girl since I travel so much and I pretty much live in hotels. However I've stayed at better residence inns.

The breakfast at this place is great but don't eat the eggs, they are nasty. The little gym has pretty decent cardio equipment and it is always empty. The pool and jacuzzi are nice. The rooms are a little bit outdated, however they accept pets which is great since I have a little dog.

Not a horrible place - great location, friendly staff and nice pool.  However, the housekeeping staff was a cluster)*&$ and the food they served for breakfast and dinner was absolutely disgusting! Had they not charged only one $100 fee for our two dogs to stay with us, we would have checked-out LONG before our four month stay!

Stayed at this location for the first time but have always stayed at residence inns around the country. This one is decent. I can say i do not like the setup of chairs near the front desk. If you are walking through the front door, you have to go around the chairs which barely gives you clearance if a person was standing at the front desk checking in. The breakfast/happy hour area is small and you have to manage your time well if you want food. Other than that, my 2 room reservation was good. THey updated the decor from what i remember from 6 months ago. I didn;'t have a problem with anything except 1 tv didn't work and 1 bed was super squeaky.

The happy hours have changed at this location from Monday, Tues, Wednesday. i went to another location maybe 2 wks ago and they had theirs including Thursdays.
Some of the front desk clerks were friendly but one was particularly cold. Won't mention them. This location is central to the airport, 2 malls, several restaurants.

Definitely use your AAA, AARP, or whatever discount you can find, especially Marriott rewards credit cards. Helps alot

I stay at too many hotels while traveling for work, and residence inn is generally my fav

    this one is in great location;
    staff VERY helpful
    rooms clean and comfortable

however --- breakfast fair at best: food area is extremely crowded; french toast was the main item that morning and was terrible// even when they refreshed it , it was terrible.  waffle maker kept family happy after giving up on the french toast

Any time I can get a hotel with a full kitchen its a huge bonus. The rooms are equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave and full size oven (I think the oven is only in the suites). I use this hotel for business travel so having a place to make my own meals is a big deal.

When I stayed, they offered a "manager's mixer," which included free dinner and free wine and beer. I'm not sure if they do that all the time, but I'm not the type to turn down a free meal.

If I had to complain about something it would have to be the price. At $300 a night (for a 2 bedroom suite) I thought it was a bit high. I've rented full beach-front condos for less than that. I guess they can get away with charging that much due to location and convenience. Honestly, if my company wasn't footing the bill, I would never have stayed there for that price and don't really feel it's worth it.

Free Manager Reception - with free wine and other drinks, free salad and a free "light" dinner which was Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans that day. Everyone loves free!

Room was very nice and had a separate area for the bedroom and the kitchen/sitting area. The only negative was no airport shuttle.

Located less than a five-minute drive from the airport in one direction and Raymond James Stadium in another direction, and directly across the street from International Plaza, the location of this Residence Inn is terrific. You are also walking distance to Fleming's Steakhouse and Lee Roy Selmon's Restaurant/Bar, which is also nice.

This hotel has free breakfast and often free dinner. I did not try the dinner, but let's just say that you get what you pay for with respect to the breakfast. It is standard free hotel breakfast fare (tasteless eggs, dry bagels and muffins, watery Quaker instant oatmeal) and quality. Your best bet is to grab a banana and yogurt or cereal product of your choice and saunter off.

The rooms are what you would expect out of Residence Inn - full kitchen, with microwaves, ovens, full-size refrigerators, and cabinets. There are tables to eat the food that you cook up in the kitchen and desk chairs/tables, in addition to sofas and beds. The bathroom plumbing seemed a little outdated, and the shower water raced out at a solid 750 mph, which, needless to say, hurt quite considerably.

The staff was helpful but not as accommodating as I have come to expect from the Marriott brand. I was there on business - our meeting actually took place at the Residence Inn conference room - and the business was of uncertain duration, so I needed some flexibility in terms of being able to check out late. Unfortunately, the front desk was not very accommodating, presumably because the hotel was very busy that week. Nevertheless, I have seen and heard that before, but received better accommodation at other Marriott locations.

There are plenty of hotels in this area, and while this Residence Inn served its purpose, I think I am going to try another hotel the next time I am in the area.

We were in town to get some sun with a family of 5. The 2 bedroom 2 bath suite was perfect for 4 nights. Quiet, Clean, Comfortable with friendly staff. Clean pool/ hot tub, nice gym and laundry. Nice HD TVs, free parking and free WiFi. The free breakfast was just OK, but the fridge is large and grocery stores are nearby for snacks.

If you're looking for a clean comfortable place to use as a home base for a sun & fun vacation; this one or the one in Clearwater are for you.
