    This hotel was ok.  The pool area was nice enough. The suite however could do with a few improvements. The couch smelled musty and the carpet was stained.  They only had like 12 channels on tv so I ended up watching the weather channel at one point.  I understand this is probably an older hotel but they really should fix some of the things that just looked dirty.  The drain in the bathtub was missing the plug and was all corroded.  There was a badly patched hole in the ceiling in the bathroom, etc..

    Nothing special here, but excellent value for the rates they charge.  The gym could certainly be larger, but that is true of most hotels.  Not a central location, but convenient for early flights out of the airport.

    Looks identical to an Embassy Suites...same layout! The beds are extremely comfortable and plush! Unlike an Embassy Suites each room has individual temperature controls! Good experience no doubt!

    I usually stay here when i come in for Spring Training games for the Yankees.  I love the place.  Close to the mall(awesome bars), they provide a ride to where you need to go.  The beds are super comfy, rates are reasonable.  And best for me, only about a 5min drive away from the ball fields.

    Gotta give this hotel 5 stars.  Got it for only 100 bucks for Saturday night and there was free parking.  I hate how hotels charge you to park.  Its BS.  This Sheraton is anti BS ;-). Our flight got in early so I sent them an email requesting an early check in and it went smooth.  Alot of hotels wont let you check in until 3 or 4 but the guy at the front desk checked us in quick and we got in the room by 1pm. The room is exactly what it says.  A Suite.  Full living room with fridge, microwave, tv, couch, table, even a stereo.  Bedroom had a TV too and a little tiny balcony.  The Sheratons beds are always super comfy and overall this was an excellent hotel!

    My boss loves the Doubletree next door, but we staged a revolt and started staying at the Sheraton. For the same price as the hotel next door, you get a microwave, mini-fridge, and a junior suite.  The room is very quiet, in part due to the air conditioner being in the living room area. They have a nice pool and gym, as well as a 2 for 1 happy hour with very generous pours.

    Good place for business travelers.  It's real quiet inside with nice beds.  Provide quick free shuttle service around the area. Beds are quality and really comfortable.  They just need a better misc shop inside with better offerings.  Agree with the photos and reviews posted.

    ok, overpriced in my book. yes, you get suite. No you dont get a nice fresh room. It needs to be overhauled. Rooms are musty, and dingy. Old furniture, and its not the best decor. So, if you want a bed to crash in and that it, this is your place. But not a good value in my opinion.  The rooms need to be improved and I just didnt like the feel of the place as everything seemed grimey.

    If I could write two separate reviews I would.  We stayed here two nights but not consecutively.  Our destination was an hour from the airport and our flights were oddly timed, so we stayed the first and last nights of our trip near the airport.

    The first room we stayed in was very nice.  Big suite with new carpet and a very comfortable bed with fluffy pillows.  No icky smells.  The room was clean.  This room would get 4 stars hands down.

    The second room, it seems, has not been renovated yet.  They tried to disguise it by putting the comfy pillows on the old, tired bed, but you could tell the bed was not as new as the one in the first room.  The furniture was older and the bathroom fixtures were a little loose.  Nothing earth shattering, mind you, but in comparison to the first room we had this one was lack luster.  2.5 star room.

    The indoor pool looked inviting and clean (I didn't go in) and the lobby/sitting area is wide open with fountains and trees which was nice.

    Our flight was delayed and didn't get into Tampa until well after 1am.  By the time we got to the hotel it was nearly 2am and we were hoping to have a snack (no food on planes anymore even if you are delayed for two hours!) and a glass of wine to shake off the fight. Nothing was open (save maybe the strip club across the street) and there was only fast food options.  There was no late night menu in the hotel kitchen and no mini bar in the room.  I'm not expecting prime rib at 2am or anything but you are servicing an international airport.  Flights come in at all hours.  Maybe offering a pre-made sandwich and having a mini-bar may be a good idea so that people unfamiliar with the area don't have to set out to find a McDonald's and a packie in the middle of the night.

    All in all it was a good experience.  Especially for the $109 per night price.

    Best it has ever been but still an strange hotel. I have been coming here for 10 years and while they have fixed the bar and restaurant with a recent make over, the room lighting is horrible. Dark in the front and over-lit in the bedroom from outside. Service is good and the gym is adequate, the indoor  pool is used for Kiddie swim classes, so I would avoid it even if they are not there. Close proximity to mall and many great restaurants and the airport.

    I stayed here during a vacation trip with my family.  I was stunned at how nice this place was for the money.  It was only around $100 per night for me and my family to stay.

    The rooms are really nice. A separate living room sort of deal with a bedroom.  There is a pull out bed in the couch. There's a microwave, fridge, and two flat screen tv's.

    I don't have too many complaints about this place.  It's close to a lot of dining, so food isn't really an issue.  I didn't really enjoy the pool too much, I walked in and was hit with a huge burst of chlorine. The internet isn't free, it's like $10 a day, which is a lot because you probably would only be using it for a couple hours when your home at night or in the morning.

    I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area, but make sure you get hooked up for the right price!

    Super nice hotel in a good centralized area of Tampa. I love staying at Starwood hotels because of the way my points add up and the perks I get with that. :-) Always a plus. The suites are very nice. Two rooms to spread out. A micro, a fridge, large desk, Starbucks coffee and two plasma teles. The night I got in we wanted to go down and have a glass of wine and small plate of something. There was a wedding and that wedding closed the only places open (Saturday night?) down. We were told the shuttle would, however, take us anywhere we wanted to go in the area. Even the nearby International Market area. I really didn't want that much of a committment! We opted to walk to the next door Doubletree where there was a raucousy bunch of college boys ... oy!...maybe not the best idea.. (our free cheap beers they sent us just kind of sat by the way side) after flying all day. Nonetheless, always good for entertainment! Right? Right?! Back at the Sheraton, I was a mere 5 minutes past the witching hour for a craving of french fries I tried to order at the front desk.. No. No. NO..Not happening, girly. Oh well. Saved me my girth before my bedtime.
    The internet is useless. It was complimentary for our crew. But was worthless when a storm rolled in. As was the cable on the cool teles. The next day at lunch the cafe staff got an earful too. We walked into what was a full bar.. we opted for a booth as we didn't want drinks, we wanted food. No one.. NO ONE.. in sight. We eventually grabbed our own menus and sat ourselves. After waiting a good 7-10 minutes, the waiter, unfriendly guy, lazy attitude asked what we wanted.. pretty much like that!... we ordered.. I never got my wine.. sandwiche came out cold.. After  a few errors and disappearing staff that could be heard cursing, talking about the escapades of their wild night out the night before in the back, I asked for a manager. I don't know if the girl was a manager..but I let her know how unprofessional it all was.
    OTHERWISE..this hotel would have at least a 4star from me! The gym is awesome, the suite is awesome, the front desk is super helpful, (its my fault being beyond room service on those craving for fries!).. It's a beautiful hotel and central to the airport.. Traffic can be a bit hairy on a football Sunday when a game is in town.. Note that.. but other than the problems I had, I'd stay again. :-)

    I book a lot of rooms in Tampa via Hotwire, and it puts a smile on my face when I get the Sheraton Suites.

    Always nice when your room has 2 TV's.  Love the separated bedroom and living room.  The fridge is also a nice touch for a sheraton.

    If you can get them to give your a room on one of the top two floors, the living room areas have hardwood floors.  Rooms backing to I275 never seemed to bother me in terms of noise, but if you are sensitive to it, ou might want to ask away from it.

    Serviceable hotel close to the airport and highways, but the location and room-size are its best features. Rooms could use a serious facelift and though hotel room lighting is generally poor, there's no excuse for broken lightbulbs at the room's entrance. As large as the room is, the bathroom is tiny, narrow, and reminiscent of an Eastern European hostel.  

    The hotel features a decent room-service menu that serves till 11pm and there are so many good restaurants and bars in a 2-3 mile radius that this is my area of choice for my very frequent business trips to Tampa.

    Pro-tip: If you get a room on the 2nd floor between 230-240 you'll be right above the driveway where taxi drivers and bus drivers congregate and yell at each other at 2am.

    On a recent work trip to Tampa, the Sheraton Suites came highly recommended by a coworker. The location was convenient to everywhere I had to be, and the price was right.

    Based on other reviews, it seems as though this place was recently renovated. My room was a mini-suite, with a door to separate the bedroom from the living room/office area. Each "room" had a flat screen, but the channel line-up left much to be desired. No TNT, no E!, and while there were about 8 different sports channels, no Vs. Plus a weird Russian sports network. Definitely some interesting choices.

    But the beds were super-comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the air conditioner worked great. Another downside - the slow-as-molasses elevators. Plus, no free wi-fi ($10/day) or breakfast included.

    Though for $120/night and the convenience factor, this place may be hard to beat.  But it's a popular conference location, so prices can fluctuate pretty substantially.  I will definitely keep this hotel in mind for future trips to Tampa.

    Stayed there recently on our weekend trip to Tampa.  The hotel looks a bit old, but still pretty nice.  If you get a good deal, it's a great hotel to stay at.  It's not a resort hotel with bunch of amenities etc, but the bed is comfy and the suite spacious.  And it was nice to have a kitchenette.  The location is close to the airport, so it's convenient if you are flying in/out from Tampa.  We had our own car, and find it easy to access major highway/roads.  We would stay here again if given similar deals.

    Incredibly comfortable foam beds!!  I'd stay here again just for that!
        We arrived in the morning, & the friendly front desk person let us check in since they weren't sold out the night before.  Parking would be tricky if they were full.  All rooms are suites, so we enjoyed a separate office room with tv, couch, chair, micro/fridge, sink, & a door to separate it from the sleeping area.  They're 5 minutes from the airport, but not in the flight path- we didn't hear a single plane while we were there.  
       My 1 complaint was the road noise.  We were on the 7th floor, yet it sounded like the window was wide open & the road just outside.  More soundproofing is much needed.  I'm a heavy sleeper, & I woke up multiple times during the night due to the highway noise.  Maybe the other side of the building is quieter?
        There are a couple malls nearby, lots of restaurants, & even an indoor go-cart racing track (lots of fun!).

    Complimentary hotel shuttle to and from airport and locations within 3 miles. Small mall with movie theater about 15mins away (walking). Target and whole foods grocery 20mins away (walking).

    Beautiful lobby area with lush folaige and stream. Nice but small gym overlooking indoor pool. Rooms have sitting area with flat screen tv, desk, and microwave, and fridge. Bedroom has additional flat screen along with door to sitting area for quiet sleep.

    We came in from San Diego and got a great deal on a room here (yay Hotwire!). The free shuttle from the airport was prompt (and the driver - Dean - was friendly and very helpful). Our room on the seventh floor was nicely furnished (apparently they received that facelift), and nicely quiet. The bed was very comfortable. There was even a little sewing kit in the bathroom - not really something awesome, I know, but it was a nice touch.

    But this I have against thee, Sheraton: no free wifi in the room. Not a huge deal, not a dealbreaker by any means, but a little inconvenient. I survived though :)

    You have other options......and you should consider them!
    30 minute wait for shuttle after I called, when I called back it would be another 5 minutes, not even an apology. Get to checkin area, only guest, and I had a reservation and it took forever. Get to the room, try to get internet ($9.95) and I had to call a help desk for them to fix connection. I go to set alarm and end table lamp by clock is burnt out. Start to see a pattern here.
    You have to believe that there is a Motel 6 out there where Tom Bodett will keep the light on for you.....take it!

    The hotel was nice and the employees were very helpful. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. My only problem was the traffic noise from the expressway. It was too noisy and kept me up a good portion of the night. I will not stay again unless I bring a noise machine of some sort. We were in room 304.

    Great bang for your buck.  Clean, spacious, conveniently located to the airport.  We missed our flight to Denver and needed a place to stay.   There is a sitting area with a couch, tv and work station - separate from the bedroom which is great for those who want to sleep calmly.  Added bonus - a free shuttle to the airport.

    This Sheraton property is in-line with the Embassy Suites concept - a large atrium with all doors facing inward and each room a suite.  This makes properties like this ideal for families or anyone who needs the extra space to live or work versus sleep.  The property itself is nice but not overwhelming.  The location is convenient to both the downtown area and the airport and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service.

    I can't believe this place doesn't have a higher rating!

    I have stayed at plenty of hotels throughout my travel, and the service at this one definitely tops all other experiences. From the check in, which was seamless, even though it was early, all the way to the check out and ride to the airport, the service was stunning.

    The shuttle drivers were all incredibly (two different ones, both more than amicable). The servers at the restaurant left a carafe of coffee at my table for refills, but still dropped by periodically throughout the meal to refill it for me.

    When I arrived at the airport, I called the hotel to inquire about the shuttle, and it was at the airport door within 15 minutes of my call.

    I am accustomed to being more or less ignored at hotels, because not only am I a 20-something, I look much like a teenager. I have never been treated with more respect from a hotel staff than at this location.

    Aside from the great service, the facilities were clean and orderly. The room size was proportional to price, without being too expensive.

    Flying into Tampa? Stay here. Flying out of Tampa? Stay here.

    This is a fabulous hotel. The only thing that prevents me from giving it an extra star is the Internet.

    Wi-fi is not complimentary, but everything else is fantastic. I stayed here recently and had no issues whatsoever.

    I had a very nice suite with two rooms. My room had a nice king size bed, two flat screen TVs, a microwave, large office station, mini fridge and complimentary Starbucks coffee and Tazo teas.

    Front desk staff does a great job processing our check-ins. The van service was efficient and maids do a great job cleaning the rooms.

    It is a little far from Clearwater beach, but there's a small beach called Cypress beach nearby. My friend and I walked over there  and had a rejuvenating time.

    It is also close to the malls for those who enjoy shopping.

    I stayed here in June of this year and had the absolute worst hotel experience that I've ever had, ever.

    1. Upon arrival (after driving 13 hours in a horrible storm) we pulled out the sleeper sofa for my travel companion to sleep on to discover a large amount of dirt and pubic hair. We called to get the bed changed and since no one was available due to it being night they sent someone up with bedding. He arrived after waiting at least 20 minutes and brought the wrong items. No sheets, just a blanket. We asked him to bring the correct items and he was extremely rude. Came back a while later with a single sheet- no pillow cases, no top sheet. At this point we were too tired to deal with sending him back again, so we made due.

    2. Room service took forever and they brought us the wrong food. Took even longer to correct the order.

    3. I took my friend and a potential client out to breakfast in the restaurant. My friend and I ordered off the menu, my potential client got the buffet. Our waitress spilled a cup of syrup on my potential client towards the middle of the meal. She was apologetic, but then removed my plate and my friend's plates which we had not finished with. We didn't say anything because it was a very awkward situation at this point. Then a short while later my potentialclient was finishing up her meal and and were talking. She was eating a breakfast sandwich she made with items from the buffet. After setting the sandwich down a very large beetle crawled out of the middle of her sandwich. We were HORRIFIED. The waitress did NOT apologize and instead shouted across the restaurant, "WELL I GUESS WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO COMP THEIR MEALS NOW." I was absolutely mortified. I was with a potential client and now she was covered in syrup, had experienced terrible service, and had a beetle crawl out of her food. I was pretty sure that I was going to lose this client after this all because of this awful dining experience. (Miraculously, I didn't.) A manager came over and apologized, but it was too little too late.

    4. I found 3 spiders in our hotel room and left the hotel covered in bug bites by the end of the trip.

    5. After the breakfast ordeal I asked to speak to the hotel manager. I explained our situation very politely and she made excuses for everything. Told me that it is Florida and most hotels have bugs. I've stayed in MANY Florida hotels and never had bug issues before. I am also very familiar with how hotels are run since my family is involved in the hotel business. I explained this to her and told her about my connection and knowledge of Sheraton Hotels. She responded disrespectfully to me. My family owns the one that is local to us, she told me that it was not possible and implied that I was making this up. She did promise to fumigate our room. This never happened and we checked out 3 days later to go stay and a different Sheraton nearby.

    An experience at a hotel that I won't soon forget.

    Every employee I spoke to and dealt with were very nice, extremely pleasant and really accommodating.  I wouldn't have blamed them if they were rude...the hotel was the host of something that brought in HUNDREDS of teenage girls (ages 12-17)  from around the country.  THEY WERE EVERYWHERE!  All over the lobby, restaurant, front desk, waiting at the elevator, in the elevator, running the halls, screaming, hugging, yelling, talking, giggling, crying....one employee told me that there was one employee to every 100 teenage girls in the hotel.  The tortured look in each one of the employees eyes was hilarious because they all kept the smile on there faces the entire time...even a housekeeper supervisor that I ran into in the elevator.  

    She smiled and asked how I was, but she looked so exhausted I had to ask her if she was okay.  She had a piece of paper in one hand and a pen in the other and simply said, "There is not one extra blanket or pillow in the entire hotel.  Not one!  I feel sorry for whoever's doing laundry on Friday."   I wished her luck as she ran off the elevator.

    They all did a fantastic job.  I, on the other hand, left a day early.  I was able to.  The poor, innocent employees at the Sheraton Suites in Tampa were not.  You all deserve a vacation day after all of that.  Great job!!

    I must mention...I did not leave early because of the teenage girls.  I left early because of MY teenage boys.  I spent the entire time running around looking for them!  Suddenly they had no interest in their video games.

    Oh yeah!  The beds were very comfortable, rooms clean. Restaurant had really good food and friendly service.  Front desk clerks, I wish I knew the names, a young Asian man and an adorable young lady with shoulder length hair (who went on a cruise with her parents and grandparents-and had us cracking up laughing abouti it) were especially amazing.  The hotel is lucky to have such wonderful employees!  I mentioned the beach...and BAM!  He gives me a list and directions for each one close by.  I need quarters for laundry machine and BAM!  She has a $10 roll for us.  

    Hotel is very close to two great malls, one  high end and an everyday type mall.  Easy to get to and very highly recommended.

    We were a hot mess when we arrived late at night after driving 5 hours the day we disembarked from a 2 week cruise from Miami.  No questions, no problems, just a smile, a key, a good laugh and an amazing night of sleep.

    I enjoyed our stay. It looked nicer inside than it does outside. Great service! Just some minor things that they should work on. Such as maybe more comfortable beds and pillows. Only minuses were the temperature was way too cold without being able to adjust properly, and the tv shut off a few times as we were watching it. The tub also needed draino However the dining (St. James) was great and the amenities were modern and aesthetically pleasing.Reminded me of a smaller version of the Gaylord.

    First up... need to mention the one glaring flaw here: slowest hotel internet I've experienced in YEARS.

    This is coming from someone who travels ~80% and who has stayed at hundreds of hotels over the past few years alone so that's saying something. I also tested it with 4 different devices *and* talked to their tech support folks to make sure they weren't simply having an outage before giving up on it altogether.

    Functionally, you will need to bring your own internet access with you, assuming all the floors are as poorly served as the 5th one (where I am as I write this).

    How about the rest of the property? My room was "okay". It's big, well appointed for 2001, and smells a bit of mold (and my allergies are going crazy which indicates that's likely not just imagination). Still, it's relatively clean (just don't look at the air vent which is most definitely NOT) and I've stayed at worse places over the years so I can't complain. Staff is very friendly and seem to be doing the best they can with a place that's in need of refurbishing.

    If not for the internet service, I'd consider staying here again... but that's an "amenity" on par with running water or electricity for me, so that kills it. If not for the friendly staff and general cleanliness I would give it a one star, but if you just need a place to crash without the frills it's actually respectable so I won't.

    I want to love it here and I wish that this could be my go to hotel for anytime I am in Tampa but it fell short. For a person who doesn't travel for business, this may very well be a good place to stay since there is a lot to do nearby, the price is right, the parking is free (wifi is not though) and the food is fairly decent.

    The cons were:
    -The complimentary happy hour....the free bites were half missing when I went to check it out and there was barely guests there.
    - the gym was cool but since it faces the parking lot anyone can watch you sweat it out. I'd suggest the hotel put up blinds. Good gym other than that.
    - the pool is indoors and well, that's only good if its raining or you're avoiding the sun. Regardless, it had a chemical smell and lacked comfortable chairs
    - the brown painted doors inside really make it seem depressing
    -9.95 for wifi? Boooooo. That's just silly.

    The pros were:
    -Again, the free parking...I love that I don't need to rely on valet or pay a fee
    -large rooms with microwave, mini fridge and sink
    -balcony rooms but they didn't have a good view
    - free breakfast
    - friendly room service

    Percent of return: 30% the indoor pool kills it for me.

    This is our third time here and we can't say how pleased we are. Check-in is painless, there is a complimentary happy hour every day and they are pet friendly!  And not just in words ... They welcomed our little puppy, brought him his own dream bed to our room along with potty bags, a bone and a ball for him to play with! Room service is great and reasonably priced. Staff is friendly and the gym is more than a treadmill and an elliptical. We have a new favorite hotel in Tampa!

    Although this hotel looks normal on the outside, it's truly amazing on the inside!! The architecture is amazing, and it looks almost like a modern day castle.

    The only thing that made me was not want to give this place 5 stars was the fact that the staff always seems to be very busy, and can't be disrupted by any customers at all. while talking to the receptionist at the front desk, they were busy using the computer, and were distracted by me. I don't like feeling like I'm distracting the person working there.

    I don't even know where to start.  I should have stayed at the Westin but the conference was here and it seemed convenient.  Big mistake.  Front desk staff is rude.  The elevators don't work right and won't let you off at your floor unless you hold down the door open button when it pauses at your floor otherwise the doors never open and it continues on.  The fridge in the room is loud as all get out - unplugged it so hopefully I can sleep tonight.  Then...I booked the room WAY in advance and paid for king and all I can get is 2 queen beds.  As a frequent traveler I can safely say other hotels are much better.  Like I said, I should have just stayed at the Westin.  Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

    A little oasis hidden amongst the concrete. You wouldn't expect much from the outside, but mosey on in for a surprise.  

    It's got an open resort-style atrium structure with a lush little jungle surrounding the cafe and glass elevators that whisk you up to your room.

    The rate was decent although I was disappointed that I had to pay an extra daily fee for wifi. And my TV was on the fritz, no doubt because they use satellite instead of cable.

    I'm planning to stay here again the next time I have business in Tampa or Clearwater. (The commute across the bay on 60 was so easy!)

    Clean hotel suite at a good price. Bed was comfortable, and room was big. Note that there is a living room with a sofa, desk, flat panel TV, and kitchenette (microwave, mini fridge, and sink). With SPG guest, got two free water bottles. Breakfast at the hotel is good, as well as their small gym and indoor pool. The bad: freeway noise from the bedroom, and loose, non-working power outlets in the bedroom lamps.

    I. LOVED. THIS. HOTEL.  My boyfriend booked it for the night so we could visit Cigar City Brewing before heading closer to Big Guava music fest.  I wish we had booked this hotel for the whole weekend.  First of all, it's a great looking place.  The staff was courteous and professional. The rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was great.  The restaurant staff was very pleasant.  I had forgotten to print out my concert ticket which was not a problem since I was able to do it in about 5 minutes at the business center.  They have a lovely courtyard area that seems ideal for weddings and business luncheons which they do offer services for.  Great hotel.  You won't regret staying here.

    Enjoyed all aspects of my stay. The room was huge, clean, and nice and quiet. I ordered room service for breakfast a couple of times and it came exactly when I ordered it, not to mention it was delicious! The lady who brought the breakfast to me was super friendly and professional. The whole staff was helpful and willing to do anything I requested. The shuttle was prompt and saved me lots of money. The fruit infused water was a nice touch. Made a trip to the gym and it had everything I was wanting. The inside of the hotel is beautiful, with glass elevators looking out over the restaurant. Great location for this hotel too. Highly recommended!

    Ok so I understand this is cheap hotel, fine..  Now, I believe there's a huge difference between being cheap and being plain nasty.  Rooms need some major cleaning (at least the first 3 that I bounced around to).  The lobby is nice..  I guess I had the wrong impression of the Sheraton hotel line..  .

    A beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We got keys to the wrong room at first and had to go back to the counter, but as soon as we arrived, the clerk knew what had happened and was extremely apologetic and gave us two complimentary breakfast buffet coupons. The breakfast was pretty standard buffet stuff but the wait staff was extremely warm and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with a very comfortable king sized bed. All in all it was a great experience and I would absolutely stay here again.
