This is my favorite hotel in Tampa and I'll tell you why.  It is reasonably priced (I mean I could go stay at the Hyatt Regency, but I'd pay 3 times as much), the rooms are clean (the bathrooms are granite or marble? I can never tell the difference) and there is free breakfast (I love me a fresh waffle in the morning!! yum!)  The also offer internet and they are close to everything (Westshore Mall, International Mall, the airport, etc)

Perfect!  Luxury hotel feel at a decent price.  Staff was awesome, room is big and well appointed, free.breakfast and wireless Internet- what more could you ask for?

Day Three of my Tampa trip and I already have to yelp about this place.  I'm on the top floor of six, and the view is nice (though mostly of all the other huge hotels in the area).  The free breakfast is actually decent, and the fitness room is free!  With a Precor elliptical, which means I'm in heaven!  Have yet to try the pool and jacuzzi yet, but I'm on it!

The best thing is my room is that it's nicely partitioned into two rooms, a bedroom and a living room with a spiffy couch and a sort of lazyboy.  There's TV, and ethernet on my desk.

The perfect location when we stay in Tampa. Located just off Westshore we can get to all the places we love to visit when in town. We were flying out the next morning so we decided to stay over and enjoy the city first. Staff is very friendly, rooms were spotless and looked brand new! Priced reasonably and the free breakfast in the morning made a great start to the day - complimentary wireless also.

Nice, new, clean. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is if you don't have a car, there is almost nothing around, and not much for sidewalks. We had a car so we made the short drive to Catch of the Day to eat a late dinner. Worth the drive to eat there, but if you have no car, chose one of the hotels near Catch of the Day. I think there was a Fairfield over there. If you want new and clean with a nice TV, this is the place.

Not a fancy hotel, not a new hotel, but why 5 stars?

All rooms are suites, that is bedroom and small separation of living room with sleeper sofa and a chair with ottoman making some what a chaise.  One slight complain, I am 5'2", and i had to tip toe to use the sink next to bathroom to get ready, it is too high!!  One TV (tube unfortunately), a small refrigerator, sink, coffee maker, microwave.  Room is clean, and even when I rejected maid service, they left me a laundry bag of FRESH towels and toiletries!!! (I never had that service in a 5 - 6 stars hotels!!!!

Breakfast is simple fair, included in room rate - sausage, eggs, muffins, toasts, doughnuts, coffee, tea, juice, cereal, hot oatmeal (not sure if on some days there are grit)

Internet is included in rate, but being an older hotel, it is not wireless in the room but an ethernet plug in, no problems, i always travel with my airport express (wireless router)!!  It worked great!!

Reasonably priced under $150 even with Gasparilla (adult parade in Ybor CIty, not the family family parade), and valentines day.  Had a blast, eating (Columbia Restaurant-Ybor CIty), and shopping (Westshore mall, and international plaze) in Tampa.

Will be back soon, once i get vacation time + cheap hotel rates!!

    I have no complaints.

I'd never stayed in a Springhill before, but the fella had and he picked it for our one-night stay, and I was impressed based on some vague preconception I'd had that the chain was mediocre. The room was spacious, cute/trendy and immaculate.

Location was perfect for getting to the airport in the morning and walking to bars at International Plaza (the mall, but it has a restaurant courtyard behind it) in the evening when we had some time to kill.

If you've got an early morning flight it's worth noting that the free breakfast starts at 6:30 weekdays, 7 weekends. We had to be out by 5:30 so we missed it.
Last note: Google maps was pretty darn misleading about the location, but we were happy to find it was where it was and not in the slightly shadier area the map had indicated.

Night time front desk attendant/manager is awesome!  She is friendly and gave me great advice where to have dinner!  Later in the week I saw her helping a man with the business computer.  Rooms are clean!  Staff says hello when I pass them in the hallway!  Breakfast here is better than the Hampton!  The attendant is supper friendly!  Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed here our last night in Florida because it was close to the airport and it would be more convenient to return the car and make our morning flight.  It was not only convenient, it was very comfortable.  It was a suite, but there was was no way to close doors to separate the areas.  No matter.  The bed was large and comfortable and the bathtub was a good size and had a grab bar.  The towels were a bit flimsy but did the job and the wifi was free and consistent.  Breakfast is included and there was fruit and cereal and eggs and sausages and waffles and pastries on offer.  The breakfast room was filled w/ business people there for meetings.  It was nicer than the airport hotels/motels we've stayed at near SFO.

The massive thunderstorms this past weekend zapped the air conditioning system in my condo, and I suddenly found myself scrambling to find a hotel room until the repair guys could come out on Monday. Since I'm a frequent guest with Marriott, I did some quick price & availability shopping online and selected the SpringHill Suites on Cypress at West Shore Blvd.

What a terrific find in my own backyard! The hotel is fresh and clean with lots of workspace in the lobby for small business discussions, and a hot breakfast buffet  each morning (included in your room rate). For those of us who are working night owls, SpringHill Suites has a Marriott Marketplace in the lobby with food stuffs, sodas, water, and juice for purchase.

The rooms are segmented into several functional areas. Inside the living room area is a wet sink, mini fridge, and microwave - perfect for popcorn, or re-heating leftovers. There's an L-shaped sofa / lounger with a flat-screen TV and a floor lamp for reading. You also have a desk with an ethernet internet connection and speakerphone. The bedroom area had a very comfy King-sized bed, closet for hanging clothes, and a couple of night tables and lamps. The bathroom was divided between the sink / vanity area, and the shower / tub and toilet in a separate room. They stocked the room with Marriott's standard high-end toiletries and loads of fresh towels.

There's a nice workout area downstairs, and a surprisingly-large outdoor pool and sundeck. The meeting rooms were busy all weekend, so I didn't get the chance to look inside.

The hotel is located in the West Shore hotel district, midway between International Plaza and the West Shore Mall, and just north of I-275, so it's super convenient.

In the off-season my room was under $100 a night, and best of all the air conditioning worked!!!!

I'll definitely recommend SpringHill Suites to my out-of-town business visitors.

This is a well-run property. The staff were particularly friendly and professional. The only thing we prefer, which has only to do with building design, is the more typical (for Springhill) separate bathing area from toilet area as found in some of the newer properties. Noise from airport can be a little loud, but not really a problem for us. Great stay! We would definitely return. The breakfast is way above average. Nice job with little touches there! In addition to fresh fruit, fun oatmeal toppings, etc. they even have Nutella packets. Mmmm.

Made reservation directly with Operations Manager via email.  Confirmed with Sales Manager via email.  Received a call the day of my reservation around 3pm to confirm my stay; I called back from the tarmac to confirm and spoke with front desk and confirmed my reservation.  I arrived around midnight only to find out NO ROOM.
After the front desk gal gave me a variety of explanations (excuses) that were not true, she admitted they had a lot of new people on staff and it was an error and they would put me up at their other location at their expense.
Getting in after midnight with business meetings first thing in the AM, you don't want to hear that you are getting a room on the other side of the bridge for free or not.
Road closures getting to the first hotel made it difficult.  Instructions provided to the second were also not accurate due to road construction.  While these aren't the direct responsibility of the hotel, they don't enhance an already poor experience.

The positive... The location, it's close to the airport and downtown.

The negative... Air filters in the ac unit are full of dust, as is the vent in the bathroom. The room had 2 tv's that are at least 8-10!years old. No HD, unlike other properties that I've stayed in. The bathroom door handle is loose and appears to have been like this for quite some time.

The toilet overflowed during our stay. Even though a staff member was sent immediately, the cleanliness standards are questionable. After unclogging the toilet, the employee placed the wet plunger on the carpet. After drying up the floor, the employee left the room. We requested cleaning supplies at the front desk as the employee did not clean the toilet or the floor. The front desk employee provided he requested cleaning supplies and I clean the toilet and the bathroom floor. At no moment did the front desk employee ask if we would like to have someone clean the bathroom.

So, a future stay here is questionable.

Well I booked here at the Spring Hill suites due to the fact of it's close proximity between the airport which they pick you up from and drop you off at and Port of Tampa which what I was taking a cruise and the next day so I thought this would be convenient also located near the west shore mall.  They do offer a full breakfast in the morning if you can get down there past the crowds of people.
When we stayed here it was around Christmas time and they had what appeared to be 20 to 30 poinsettia plants in the lobby which will affect some people who have asthma or breathing problems since they are a toxic plant.  Also the room that they had given us although it was a very nice room with two televisions which we did not turn on and a lovely view of the roof and a small sitting area the issue that I had was it was so close to the elevators that every 30 seconds when the gears initiated it just won't you up out of a dead sleep- by the time you're already unpacked and settled in and you don't want to go down and ask for another room- since this was booked on their direct website you would think that they would know not to put you near a elevator that's going to make those kind of noises.  Also the numerous Spanish-speaking maids in the morning talking very loud in the hallway's so if the elevator didn't wake you up the maids whatever I guess they assume everyone has to be up at seven in the morning.  Basically when I stay in a hotel it's not for luxury accommodations but it's for sleep and rest neither of which I received here at the Spring Hill suites at Westshore.
I did confront the front desk in the morning and they said oh well too bad you should've said something at 2 o'clock in the morning and we would've changed your room.  That's the attitude of people today.

Well organized staff keep this property running smoothly.  Clean lobby, breakfast buffet area, and common areas indicate a team that pays attention to the details.

In my room, everything worked, nothing was amiss, stained or lacking in comfort.  I will say that the AC unit had trouble finding the sweet spot.  It was either too, too cold or not warm enough.  but, thankfully, they had an extra blanket in the closet.

I have stayed here twice for 5 nights each visit.  I'd definitely return the next time I need to visit Tampa.

Parking can be a little bit of a pain, but, what can you do about that?  I prefer parking in the front and those spaces always filled up.
