As business hotels go, this was in the top end in terms of service and cleanliness. The room was large and comfy, with a king size bed, a couch area and desk, a large TV with a DVD player and in room movies, and FREE wireless Internet. Everyone was super polite, and they have a 24 hour mini store off the lobby, where you can get soda, bottled water, and snacks - very convenient. The room had some modern touches, including granite countertops and hip throw pillows. The AC was amazing, making it nice and cold at night, just the way I like it. They have coffee all day long, and the breakfast they serve was comprehensive. My only two complaints were that the shower water pressure was very weak (drives me crazy) and two of the three treadmills in the otherwise clean fitness room were broken. Management needs to step it up a notch to get to that "next level". Still, I would stay here again, as the overall feel is clean, modern, polite, and new.

I'm staying in this extended-stay hotel in Tampa on a business trip and I can honestly say it's one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Granted, it's not fancy. But it seems like the swankier the hotel, the less you get, and the amenities at this hotel seem bottomless. In terms of little niceties that are useful in a home away from home, this one takes the cake.
Since it's an extended stay hotel, the rooms are bigger and more spacious than a regular mid-range hotel. There's a couch, a desk, and a kitchenette that's exactly one oven short of a full kitchen. I could really cook if I was so inclined--this place has a rangetop and dishwasher and the cabinets come complete with pots, pans, a cutting board, glasses, plates and so on. I told my boyfriend that I was jealous of the knife block here; it's more complete than mine at home! Add a roomy closet with in-room ironing board and iron, as well as a DVD player I could watch movies on if I was so inclined, and you can see why I'm near-fanatical about this hotel.
But that's not the whole story. To top it off, the staff is extremely nice. My boss stays here so often that she's practically a local celebrity. Seeing as most travelers here are businesspeople and in the hotel pretty often, the desk folks chat with everyone and know lots of people's names. The repeat customers make for nice, quiet neighbors as well, which is always a plus.
The exercise room is fantastic as far as hotel amenities go. For your cardio, there are three treadmills, an elliptical machine and a stationary bike. For strength training, you can avail yourself of one of the two weight benches, a complete set of dumbbells and a cable cross machine. There's also a TV, towels, a basket of magazines and a water cooler. In terms of keeping up my exercise regimen away from home, I'm eternally grateful that I have a place to work off all those business lunches, and it's pretty well-appointed.
The coup de gras? On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Staybridge serves a complimentary dinner (in addition to their daily breakfast). It's nothing heavy or elaborate, but considering I didn't have access to a car a few nights, it beat the alternative (a dinner of cookies and Goldfish). Tonight I went downstairs and they had hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixins, including chili for the dogs and tortilla chips in case you wanted to make an impromptu nacho basket. The best part of it all? I went to see what my choices were for a beverage, and that's when I was confronted with TWO BEERS ON TAP and a few bottles of wine. What hotel have you EVER encountered that offers FREE BEER?!
I think I found a new best friend, and its name is Staybridge Suites Sabal Park. It's no wonder that this hotel is the residence of choice for my company's visitors to Tampa!

Written a while back, so some information may be a bit dated...
After our last stay at Staybridge (in Tallahassee), we decided we would push our luck in Tampa and spend another night there after being on the road earlier than expected and needing a place to stay.
This time, since we were planning on going to the zoo in the morning, we were looking for proximity, and as we had good luck, figured "why not"?
Overall, we were pleased - but we just weren't as pleased. The hotel looked almost identical to the one that we were at just two nights before. They could have been twins. The staff was very nice. The place was clean. So what was the difference?
The first problem was finding it. Though we had a tourbook from AAA, a GPS to direct us, and knew right where we were going, it took us quite a while to get there. The roads were just a little wacky and the entrance is on the backside of an office park. Or we felt like it was anyway.
The second problem was that it just wasn't quite as well outfitted as the last place. The televisions didn't have as good a selection, and there was no computer provided in the room. To be fair, we didn't expect it in Tallahassee, and had we not experienced that one, this one might not have seemed as average. But we did, and so this one suffers. I hate that, but that's the way it is...

This is my first time staying at a Staybridge property.
I'm staying at this location for a business assignment that will last approximately 6 months. After a couple of weeks, I have to say this place has far exceeded my expectations.
The staff has been nothing but kind and very helpful with any requests that I may have had.
I am staying in one of the queen studio rooms which is more than adequate for my needs (approx 385 sqft).
The living and bed area are in very good condition with clean carpet and furniture that has been taken care of. The bathroom and sink are separate from each other which is nice. You can actually use the sink area after a shower without having to keep wiping down the mirror to use it.
The shower valve has a flow adjustment lever on it so that you can adjust how hard the shower sprays. This may seem trivial, but at other places, you may get a trickle or you may have water spraying to the back wall.
The kitchen area is a little small, but it hasn't been an issue for me at this time. I grill and freeze most of my meats and vegetables at home on the weekend and just defrost and heat when ready to eat. It would be a bit harder if I cooked everything in the room since is only one large and one small burner. But like I said, it works out fine for me.
The cabinet space is great and the full size refrigerator is nice item over the mini-fridges that most places have. I did have an issue with the garbage disposal on the first day, but after calling the front desk, it was fixed within 10 minutes.
The other amenities (fitness center, laundry services and business center) are also very nice. The Tuesday through Thursday evening socials are a great way to chat with the staff or other guests while having something to eat. It is free and helps break up the daily routine of going to work then going to your room with little interaction with anyone outside of work. It is also nice for people that just want to relax and not cook or go out for dinner.
Overall I am very pleased with my stay so far. I will be staying at more Staybridge properties based of my experience here in Brandon.

Very Horrible Air Conditioner and Unhelpful Technician
My husband and I love Staybridge Suites.
However, our last experience at this Staybridge was very unpleasant.
The toilet in our room was not good (toilet tank/reservoir with super slow fill).
We did not complain about it because it was not important at all.
The one making us very unhappy was the air conditioner.
The air conditioner worked properly on our first day only.
It did not work properly the rest of our stay there.
After I complaint about it, the front desk representative let us sleep or move to a different room since there was no technician at the time. We chose to sleep only, so Staybridge did not need to clean 2 completely "dirty" rooms (we only used the bed in our "temporary" room). The technician was scheduled to fix the air conditioner on our initial room the next morning.
The air conditioner in our "temporary" room was not working properly as well.
To make it short, the air conditioner was not working from around 2 to 7 am.
I finally opened the window to get the cold air from outside around 3 am.
When the technician came to our initial room, I told him that the air conditioner did not work since around 4 pm yesterday. He tried to make me feel like I do not know how to use air conditioner and heater. Since there was no air coming out of the vent, I tried to switch to 'heat' mode. The air immediately came off the vent. He told me that I could not do that since it would take a while for the air conditioner to function after I switched back to the 'ac' mode. Hhmm.. Did it require about 15 hours (air blow started to come out when we went back to the room around 7.45 am) for the unit to switch from 'heat' mode to 'ac' mode. Furthermore, I told him that I also tried to switch the fan mode from 'auto' to 'on'. He said that I could not do that. If I do that, only air (fan) will work the entire time. After I heard what he said, I decided to shut my mouth. He also mentioned that even he called the chief engineer, he/she could not do anything. At the end, he told me that we needed to wait about 3-4 hours in order for the room to be cooled. If the room was not cold after 4 hours, we needed to call him back. Wrong! The room was cooled after 30 minutes, which was very normal time to cool down that size of a room.
Our air conditioner problem did not stop there. It came back. From that point, we decided to open windows to get the cold air from outside. For about $130 per night, we expected the air conditioner to run properly.
In addition to the air conditioner problem, we had problem with our door (i.e. the door could be opened without using key). We had this problem on our fourth day there. It was simply unsafe when we were sleeping because someone could open the door. The same technician told me that we could not rush closing the door after opening the door using the key card. Hhmm.. I have been going to hotel for many years; I have never faced this problem.
We most likely will not come back to this Staybridge unless the management takes actions on these problems and this particular technician.

My boyfriend is staying at this hotel for an extended period of time for work. The dog and I visited for a long weekend and I was really pleased with it!
It is a pet-friendly hotel. I've heard stories about other pet-friendly hotels where rooms smelled like cat pee, etc. But this one did not at all. It was very nice, and smelled just like a regular hotel.
You get a magnet for your door that says "pet in suite" if you have your pet with you -- you can leave the magnet on the door while you're gone so the cleaning people don't come in if you've left your furbaby.
There's plenty of grass and places to walk your dog, and there is a poop-bag station, in case you forgot yours.
There is free breakfast every day, and free dinners (and even sometimes beer) on select week nights. The staff that I encountered were all pretty friendly, and helped us find a good place to order dinner from.
We had a suite, with a bedroom, bathroom, 'living room' and kitchenette. It was really nice...lots of space, two tvs, a desk, couch, chair, two beds, dresser, closets, microwave, full fridge, stove top, toaster oven, and dishwasher.
Overall I think it's really a great option -- especially for those traveling with pets!
