We had a night's layver on our way from the Cayman Islands, and decided to "just keep things simple" and booked ourselves in at the Tampa Airport Marriott.  We weren't looking for anything more than convenience, but by the end of our short stay there, we were both willing to come back, just to stay there!  The people at the desk were fantastic, helpful, and friendly.  The bellhops were amazingly nice and helpful, as well.  The amenities were beautiful and clean, and everyone made our stay, and our trip out so easy, we will be sure to be back!  Not just a convenient hotel to stay at, but a worthy destination hotel, as well!

Typical Marriott pricing ... Expensive. Room small but beds great. Hot water good. Tv state of the art, contrary to another review. Food overpriced as per all Marriotts. You can go to Carrabbas until 9pm and TGIF until 11pm so that isn't a problem. Water bottle in room is $5 and wireless Internet is $14.99 per night. That's why you see so many folks in the TPA area late at night.

Platinum Member, they could care less.  Poor service, older looking room.  I wil not be back and may even call the rewards line just for fun since they seem rather proud of their top 10 rating in service.  There are far nicer hotels.

For meeting with flyers- place is great. Rooms are surprisingly nice and freshly updated. Food isn't great- I prefer walking into the airport as shocking as that sounds but that underscores that the food is as bland as the exterior.

I can't say I saw much of Tampa when I went there last month.  I was there on business for 3 days.  If you find yourself in the same situation, the Tampa Airport Marriott is super convenient.

You just walk from one terminal and down a corridor that leads to the hotel.  You never even go outside to get there.  No hassle and super convenient.

They have a gym(which is a plus), an outdoor pool, a top floor rotating restaurant, and a decent lobby bar that's always playing sports.

Maybe someday I'll see more of Tampa as a tourist, but for business; this hotel works just fine.

Premium prices for nothing!!!! Rooms are small, hotel showing signs of age, staff is cold! If you must stay here consider the park and fly, cheaper than TPA long term!

I was forced to stay here once and now use it as my early flight hotel. It is a very easy walk to your gate, if you have status, you can almost wake up an hour before your flight and make it. The concierge is among the best around. The older lady goes out of her way to make sure you have what you need. The rates are reasonable for an airport hotel.

Room: Semi-clean
TV: Old Style
Bathroom: Dirty
Bed: Comfortable
Hotel: Old
AC/DC: Yes it blew on my face

Front Desk was great and very helpful. Not as good as the last 2 Marriott's I stayed at but I'm still a fan. The location is great for an early flight to Detroit, MI. I'm an elevator ride to my gate, very cool!

The stars is more for the convenience of being in the airport, not the actual room or services itself.

The room is dated, tube tv and old furniture. My AC wasn't working properly and even though I had it set to 60 degrees, I woke up sweating twice cuz it was really like high 70's lol.

I had to stay here because ATL and Cincinnati was having bad weather so it was inevitable I would be spending more time than I cared to in the airport, so I changed my ticket to leave the next day via DETROIT (I hate ATL layovers!) and I checked into the airport Marriott. It was nice I could leave the lobby and be in the airport terminal. And since my luggage was who knows where, the staff provided me with a baggie of toiletries.

This is actually the 2nd time I've had to stay here due to traveling interruptions, but it's not a bad stay. You have everything you need right at your doorstep so it is convenient. Three restaurants in the hotel itself, the main terminal restaurants and shopping and a cool (but overpriced) bar. Not having a rental car for the night didn't bother me since I had all that :-)

Everything was great from the minute we pulled up. Room was spacious. The airport is connected to the airport. The bellman took our bags to the Delta terminal for us. It doesn't get more convenient then that. Staff was very helpful.

I loved this hotel but I think that was due to a combination of Alan at the front desk (above and beyond customer service!!) and knowing I was finally heading home to Detroit.

This hotel is conveniently located inside the Tampa airport.  I dropped off my rental car downstairs, entered the airport like I was heading to a flight then kept walking to the (not very well marked) hotel entrance.

Yes, the room was dated, but it was very clean.  The Marriott bed was amazing.  A bit of air traffic noise, but... uhm... you're at the airport.

Excellent rate at $109 too (when the Hyatt in Dallas' airport wanted $300 earlier in the week!).

We came here for a conference and paid for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast consisted of bottled oj and aj, bread, and fruit. We got a salad for lunch one day, a sandwich the next, and a wrap the next. On the last day, we had a banquet. With beer at $7-8, we decided not to buy anything. I was not given a choice of how I wanted my steak and it came out medium and dry. I much prefer a juicy medium rare steak, thanks. Also my friends happened to have great areas of fat on their steak, which was unfortunate. We had a window room that overlooked the pool, but the window was locked shut and the balcony was unreachable. The 3 elevators are very slow and we couldn't even find the stairs the first day because they were hidden away. The trash cans in the rooms are small enough to fit one or two bottles of water. The only restaurants around are TGIF, some italian place, Burger King, and Papa Johns. The stores in the airport close at 8, so you'd best stock up on drinks before the night begins.

Be aware of the additional fees for EVERYTHING. Stayed here for a conference and was surprised to be charged for both parking and internet--the grocery store offers free wireless, a hotel that's already getting $150 a night from me has to charge for it?!  Lounging by the outdoor pool with massive jets flying overhead was also quite rejuvenating. If you're not in a rush to fly out early in the morning, I'd recommend staying somewhere else.

I stayed at the Tampa Airport Marriott last night prior to flying out this morning back home after a work trip.  Upon arrival, the hotel looked nice and clean.  However, I woke up this morning and found, what I am 98% certain, was a bed bug on the lamp shade between the two double beds in the room.  I will try to attach a photo to this review as well.  I am absolutely disgusted...after I saw the one on the lamp shade, I did all I could to get out of the room as soon as possible.  On my way out, I noticed another one crawling on the side of the wall.  I stayed in room 436.  I told the front desk, and they said that the bugs were water bugs; however after doing an intense google search and notifying all my friends and family, we confirmed that they were bed bugs.  What a disaster...once getting back home, I removed all my clothes in my garage and threw everything in plastic bags.  I had to throw out a lot of my smaller items that I could not wash.  I will make sure I call up Marriott this evening to complain.  I have never had this happen to me before and I am horrified.  If you stay in this hotel, do not stay in room 436 or near there.

About as perfect as a business hotel can get. I must preface that as a Platinum member, we have use of free Internet and the wonderful club lounge. To only make that better is the wonderful German lady that has worked the lounge for years. It's like coming home.
Zero time to airport makes a 6 am flight very doable. Plenty of dining options, if you even need it after the lounge, there are 3 venues in the hotel and another 4 just over the walkway at TPA.
Nice gym on lower floor. Parking is $10 per day, be sure your only charged once, there seems to be a disconnect between the parking company and the hotel.
PS Asked for feather free room and got it!

Rooms are not soundproof. Towels smell like bleach. Hot water comes out white (so full of metal and stuff it's not clear). Staff is rude even before I complained about anything, just a bunch of jerks. Avoid this place!

The terminals are far apart, but the trains are fast and comfortable.  I never do much shopping but the stores seem nice.  Decent food selection and the art is beautifully done.

There's also a great spot to hang out outside!  You don't even feel like you're at an airport.  This place is a little hard to find.  It's to the right of the coffee shop, Cafe Elise, which is next to the Marriott located at the airport.  It's was completely empty outside.  You have to check it out if you're here for longer than 45 minutes.

This hotel has a great location and was really nice. I went for a meeting and was really impressed by how clean and convenient it was. I do think the layout of the place can get a bit confusing though and the parking situation was awful, but this is a good choice for anyone who is looking to stay in a pretty nice place coming to/from the airport. I think it'd also be great for conferences as well, parking issues aside.

Last time we stayed here, we had a terribly noisy room with running water and air conditioning noise all night (the hotel management responded to my bad review which was good to see!).

So, we gave it another chance and had a very well appointed room, which was comfortable, quiet and everything I expect from a top hotel chain.

Much better experience all round this time, so will definitely be coming back!

This is a great Marriott. The front desk staff are very helpful, the rooms very clean and its location could not be more convenient if you are flying out of the Tampa airport. I highly recommend this hotel. I have stayed several times and each time the service and condition of the rooms are the same.

Location, location, location.  That is what this hotel has going for it.

I did not stay overnight, but came for a conference for the day.  Although there are some repairs in progress, this place is really looking its age.  The lobby level is reasonably modern, but the conference levels and parking levels are really old.

Plus, the whole building is round, so navigation around the confernece center labyrinth is a challenge.  How about some signage?

Nice location -- attached to the airport terminal itself -- but otherwise nothing special.

This is one of the nicer Marriott locations that I have ever stayed at.  The staff is wonderful, no matter if you are in the hall or waiting for your car, everyone will stop to say hello and ask if they can help you with anything.  It's wonderful!

Attached to the airport, this hotel is very convenient for any traveler with a late arrival or early morning flight.  There is a hotel restaurant bar in the lobby for a late dinner, but there are options in the airport like TGI Fridays and Carabba's that are easy too.

The rooms are quiet, you would never know that you are attached to an airport.  I've never heard a single airport related noise from my room.

The fitness center is a good size... There are plenty of machines for people to use and I have yet to go there and find all the machines taken, which is great.

I would highly recommend staying here, the rooms are nice, the fitness center is well equipped, and the staff couldn't be nicer.

Conveniently located within the Tampa airport. The rooms are clean, modern decor and very quiet rooms considering its right at the airport. There are lots of restaurants and shops within a few minutes walking distance. The service was very good and it was an excellent venue for a business-related meeting.

The Tampa Airport Marriott is quite possibly the best place to get stranded if, hypothetically speaking, you show up for your flight and find out that there's no way you're getting out that day despite the fact that there are multiple flights on other carriers that could get you there, but Southwest isn't willing to do that for you. At least they put me up here, which meant I had an exceptionally relaxing evening with a top-quality room and comfortable bedding. That bedding really is something special.

A great place to be sure. Plenty of amenities and friendly staff. Can't quite go up to 5 because they charge separate for internet access (isn't that cute?) and the fact that I actually had hot water problems for most of my shower, which is not what you want when you're waking up at 4:30 am for your attempt to freaking get home.

Pretty minor stuff. An excellent spot to be stranded in Florida.

This review is for the front desk and the chef, Michael, from Cafe Elise. I got stuck flying with a package that the airlines were trying to force me to check. It was a painting that holds significant value to me. The airline told me to go up to UPS but they are closed on weekends. I panicked just a bit because I knew the airline would destroy it. (See YouTube baggage handling).

The guys at the restaurant and front desk had me fill out the form and locked my package in the office to be shipped Monday!  It was so sweet, convenient, and in a customer service world where everyone says no, they said yes.

Thanks guys!

What an outstanding experience! The rooms were beautiful and modern, very clean and well kept. The pool was great-we had a lovely afternoon unwinding before leaving Tampa the next morning.

Exceptional service from Shelley at the bar. Thank you for the great conversation and attentiveness. Also a big shout out to Edith! What a bonus to your company this lady is. 22 years she said. She was incredibly thoughtful, friendly and just a joy to be around. If I could steal her and have her come work for us in Denver I would. I tried actually but she said the winters would kill her! Both of these ladies exemplify exceptional service and are a bonus to your company. Thank you thank you!!!! A great ending to a lovely vacation.

Prior to booking this hotel, I didn't see the reviews from the guests who had problems with bed bugs. I'm sure this was a true experience for them and hopefully the hotel took care of the problem and provided recourse for those guests. My experience was a little different. The room I had was really nice. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. The shower felt really good. You can tell they've made some upgrades because the decor is very modern. The biggest perk with this hotel is that it's conveniently located in the airport. You don't have to walk outside or catch a shuttle to get there. To that end, the hotel is sound proof so you don't hear the airplanes hovering over you. Customer service was nice. Food in the restaurant took forever, but tasted very good. Everything is decently priced. You won't feel robbed.

Room was modern and clean. I was especially impressed that you can walk right to the hotel from the terminal without taking a shuttle bus.

Food at the cafe was pretty good and the prices were moderate. The one thing that impressed me the most is the soundproofing. You wouldnt know you were at an airport unless you looked outside.

Parking was extra
