From the airport shuttle driver to the bartenders to the front desk people, everyone couldn't have been more helpful and nice. The hotel itself is solid as well. The rooms are brand new, and the bathrooms are as nice as I've seen in a Westin. Great views. Even the indoor pool is nice. I stayed there one night, since we had an early flight the next morning. I'll definitely stay again.

Great hotel and close to airport and causeway but don't let that shy you away. They have a cute little beach area and a great central location for business or pleasure. Try the new Charthouse across the street, it rocks for fresh fish and juicy steaks..

The beds are too soft, nothing like the Westin "Heavenly" bed is supposed to be. Major architectural flaw in all Junior Suites: the air conditioning vent is directly above the bed and blows loud and hard in your face while you're trying to sleep. Staff is not rude, but isn't particularly motivated or inspired to solve probems. Just stay at La Quinta and save yourself a few hundred bucks.

This is a brand new hotel. Beautiful accomodations, great view of the bay, very close to the airport. I would highly recommend and a pretty good value. A little more expensive but every room has a flat screen, the beds are incredible. Westin has the best beds, and the bar and outdoor patio are great. There is a rooftop lounge thats fantastic. I didnt give it a 5 rating because there are still some service issues to work out but I know they will get it figured out soon. great place.

Great Airport Hotel. I stayed here on my way through town by accident. That said, I was not disappointed. Great staff, great rooms, easy in and out. Would stay again.

Also, there is a Starbucks in the building if that is a selling point for some.

Pet friendly hotel :).  Great service, food, and hospitality.  Additionally they have a Starbucks on property and Jet Ski rentals.

Standard Westin, right down to the imported smell that they all have.  convenient to Tampa area and activities.

My default for Tampa trips, since my folks' trailer is just not edgy enough for me.

Full disclosure: the Mrs. stays here frequently on business. However, that doesn't change the fact that this clean, beautiful hotel has great leadership, which is in evidence by how happy and service-focused every member of the staff is. They don't take their eyes off the ball, and go above and beyond to get it right. From Guest Services staff like Linda to Engineering people like Mike, these people took outstanding care of our family.

The pool and spa were comfortable and cleaner than most. The little beach is cute, and yet big enough to build a sand castle.

Akwanox (the restaurant and bar) is the upscale dining and drinking destination typical of this sort of destination.

Finally, they have Wii bowling in the lobby in the evening. How cool is that?

I stayed here with a group of friends.  We had a great time and the rooms were nice. One of the nice perks was the shuttle, which made airport trips very convenient.  The front desk staff was helpful with night life suggestions, and when we did head out the shuttle dropped us off. All in all had a great time.

At first I read the reviews and thought, "how much could bad service affect me, I have a super low rate"?  Well so much that I had to check out a day early.  I had the misfortune of dealing with the gm that must have previously worked for holiday inn or a motel somewhere, bottom line is that the bad service starts at the top! I had a do not disturb sign on my door and I told the operator not to knock on my door but of course they did 2 days in a row.  8 beach chairs or less for the whole hotel!!!  No outside pool, it is indoor.  Food is hit or miss.  Front desk moved me to an occupied room.  it was a nightmare, I wouldnt return even if it was free.  Btw the night valet had a nasty attitude actually asked me if I worked there when I asked him to store something?!

Hubby and I stayed here in February.2012 for business.  Nice Hotel.  Rooms were comfortable with adequate bthroom fixtures and amenities.  The full gym was well equipped with plenty of equipment and tvs to watch. Valet was very friendly and helpful when we had questions about where we needed to go.   One word of advice - don't use the in room fridge to store any of your items.  I took a couple of items out to store our bottled water and noticed charges on our bill because they have some type of sensor that can detect if you take anything out of the fridge  After receiving the bill and talking to management, we did get the charges taken off, I noticed later in our room that there is a note on the inside of the fridge, in very small print, stating if you take anything out you will be charged.  Hotel charged for wifi use.

We had the opportunity to eat in the hotel restaurant, and although the staff was friendly service was unorganized as it took some time just to get staff to come to the table to order and then the food took longer than I would expect. There is also a Starbucks attached to this hotel.

Gorgeous property right on the water. My view is phenomenal and I'm thoroughly impressed with the great staff. Heavenly bed is indeed heavenly.

Still don't understand why many SPG hotels don't have free wifi or they'd be getting 5-stars from me.

They DO have a pretty good F&B program and the property is newer.  Some talented people in the kitchen.  The people in the front of house though lack training and etiquette.  You will be the needle in the haystack if you get an upgrade here (even as a 150+ nights per year Platinum).  If you are in the SPG program and like upgrades, expect to be disappointed.  And if you make any complaints, expect the GM will take them personally and you may even get ejected.  Not nearly as pet-friendly at this property as they are at others.  And if you have children or pets, please know it is a VERY dangerous location if you want to cross the street.  I brought this to the attention of management and the next day they said I could no longer stay there with my pet (for making the complaint, I believe).   I tried to warn the management that the location is dangerous, but rather than acknowledge, they seem to try to erase the evidence I asked to have put on file.  Someone will get hurt at this location, eventually, trying to cross the road.  So, good luck to you if you need to cross with your pets or family - and if you complain, expect to get retaliation.

Not real buttoned-down operation with a very self-inflated view of themselves.

But close to the airports so it gets a second star.

Clean hotel, outside staff always waiting to help and open the door each time.  Rooms are clean and usually have a good view of the Bay from either side. Westin Members are positioned on the upper floors.

The only real drawback is the restaurant which is overpriced for what you get. The bar is also overpriced. For the casual business traveler, eat and drink somewhere else like the Bahama Breeze within walking distance.

Starbucks is first class and opens early. Try their breakfast sandwich with your coffee.

When it is warm, the outside area is perfect for lounging but the beach doesn't offer you much so don't bother.

The pool is fine and rarely used. The jacuzzi hot tub is small and the water doesn't get hot enough. Still, it is indoors and rarely used. Fitness center is fine with a good assortment of equipment.

As for the pay for parking notes from others.Don't bother. Just keep moving straight ahead and park yourself. There is no pass needed and no one has ever asked me to pay. Forget the valet and parking garage unless you need special treatment.

Took three people to check me in because the bill was pre-paid by my client.  Apparently this was a new concept for the front desk.  The rooms are nice - bed super comfy.  They have the "heavenly shower head" in the bathroom (two heads) - but then a big GUILT sign that they have turned one head off to save the planet, but if YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT OUR MOST PRECIOUS RESOURCE, you can turn it on.
Yeah, I turned it on.

Beautiful location and wonderful views of Tampa Bay.  Even though it's close to the airport, it is one of the nicest hotels in all of Tampa.  I have stayed here 7 times in the past 4 or 5 years since it opened and it is one of my favorite hotels.  They have a nice little mini beach to enjoy the water in Tampa Bay, a good little bar in the hotel called Aqua, and traditional heavenly rooms.  Stay here if you want access to all that Tampa Bay has to offer.

Was here for two days of meetings, but didn't get to stay here because it was sold out.  The meeting room was awesome, and the support service/coordination we got from Swathi was fantastic. Food and beverage service was efficient and tasty with good options.

The hotel property itself seemed very nice - maybe nicer than the Hyatt I've usually stayed at in the area.

Property condition - average for SPG properties
Service - average
Management - Needs Improvement (Big Time)

This was my first time staying at this hotel and I did not realize that it was a pay for parking situation.  After speaking with the valet attendant upon arrival, I found that the self-parking was the same cost of valet parking, so naturally I chose to valet my vehicle. I usually don't carry cash on me and was planning on getting some from an ATM on Monday after work so I would have money to tip but did not have any on Monday morning when I was leaving the hotel.

On Monday morning as I was getting into my vehicle, the valet attendant grumbled, "Cheap B*st*rd" under his breath as he was closing my car door.  I was shocked at this moment and should have confronted him then but decided to wait until I returned from work since I was running late for a meeting.  When I returned to the hotel that evening, the first thing I did was approach the front desk inquiring to speak to a manager so I could report this incident.  That's when the "guest services manager" approached me and asked if he could help.  I told him about the incident and then he did not offer any apology or even thought I was telling the truth.  I did not receive a formal apology pertaining to this incident at all.

The next day, Tuesday, I approached "guest services manager" asking if there has been any progress with the incident I reported since I have not heard any update since the report.  He goes on to tell me that he is waiting for the valet manager to come in since he didn't work that day and then goes on to say the following which I felt was very offensive!

"I don't mean to call you a liar, or anything, but to hear that coming out of that individuals mouth would be shocking."  Seriously?!?!?!

In this statement, this "Manager" called me a liar to my face.  One thing I would like to make clear is that I am not a liar because that would be ridiculous to lie about something like this.  After this situation, I was very upset and figured that I would just have to escalate this situation because it seems that this property doesn't care about their guests and just believes that their associates can do no wrong.

I say, overall the hotel is pretty average for Westin properties but the service from management definitely needs improvement.  I am a very frequent traveler and will definitely go to any of the other worthy SPG properties in the area and will not ever return to this location unless I get a formal apology and they make me feel warm and fuzzy.

Flight back home to Atlanta was cancelled because of snowpocolypse so booked a last minute room here. Extremely convenient to the airport and right on the water. Stayed on the 14th floor with a great view of the water. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, gym and pool available, and on site restaurant is good. The weather was cold and rainy unfortunately. Would have loved to sit on the water and enjoy dinner and drinks. Will be coming here from now on for all Tampa business trips.

I am really sad with my experience with this hotel. When I came in I had to different reservations due to my work policy. However the guy in front desk assigned a double room to me for the whole stay given that I paid for executive room. After 3 calls they decided to give me different room, finally, then when I was moving up my stuff I left my jacket in the previous room and I contacted them then they said they have nothing. It just did not make sense to me housekeepers for sure had to go to clean the room to get it ready and they must have seen it there I can tell the exact location where I left it in the closet but they just denied it and they said they can't do anything about it. I am really sad not be cause of the jacket itself but because it was a gift from the girl I love. I told her about it and she felt bad as well. Now as I am writing this review I am still here in the hotel with a disappointment. They even don't clean the room, they signed me up for the green option by default. Food from yesterday still in my room now and I am looking at it. Westin you hear me? You made me regret why I chose you. I don't want $5 for green option please just clean my room and get my jacket back that's all.

Nothing to complain about here. Hotel was clean and a typical Westin property. Views were fantastic and access from the Tampa airport was very painless.

Staff were very accommodating which included a room change when switching from two bed room to a single King room. The front desk clerk also made sure we kept the same view which was great.

Bonus with the lobby Starbucks which made it convenient to not leave the hotel to get morning caffeine fixes.

Will probably increase SPG member benefits going forward as it has been a consistent positive.

Terribly expensive and terribly poor hotel!   Microwave is 10$ per day.  Wireless is 10$ per day.  Parking is 20$ per day.  Fees and taxes are 100$ per day.    I'm surprised they don't charge for power and phone.

Overall 2 stars is a generous rating for this dump.   STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

One of the finest hotels I've ever stayed in worldwide.  Can't say enough good about it.

I'm on the road an average of 308-311 days a year and I don't think that there's a finer hotel that I've ever been to.

Service sets the standard worldwide.

The food is excellent; the services and amenities are outstanding.

I was called to Tampa for business and a colleague of mine recommended The Westin. My stay was absolutely a pleasant one. The location was perfect!

Everything in my room was in order. It was well equipped with modern electronics and kept very clean. My room had a beautiful view of Tampa Bay and the quality of sleep that I had was perfect which I don't get much often.

Amenities I've used and found to be useful were:
* Starbucks - Located onsite where I can get a pick me up in the AM
* Full bar and lounge - Perfect for talking business over drinks
* Full workout gym - High end and well maintained gym equipment
* Shuttle service - Airport drop off and pickups

Seems as though I am not the only one with customer service issues here. For my best friend's wedding we had all gotten rooms here. My main issue was when I snuck back to the hotel just before the reception was over. Add I walked into the newlyweds room, it had not been touched! In 6 hours! I had called for room service in hopes to have help getting this room prepared for the newlyweds arrival. No-one came. I called again and asked to management. Man was that a joke. As I finished up cleaning the room, the manager had called to inform me the room was cleaned at 2pm. So???? As part of being a preferred wedding vendor for The Rusty Pelican I had assumed they would understand. Very shocked I had to deal with this at The Westin. Lesson learned and I will not be supporting this hotel for this reason. They Elaine Burton step it up.

Built in 2009 Shuttle to and from the airport was great. Saved the cost of a rental car. Located on the causeway, so incredible views from all sides of the water. Very clean hotel. Upgraded to deluxe room on the club level, free breakfast, light snacks and hor d'oeuvres in the evening. Great Restaurant Aqua on the first floor. Service at the front desk, room service, maid service, shuttle driver all excellent. 3 areas of improvement: 1) elevators slow and one not working, 2) Internet wifi slow, 3) Air conditioning blew on my face all night. The room, the pillows, the shower all excellent and comfortable.

This review could easily be a 1 star review, and it could have just as easily been a 4 star review. It all comes down to customer service:

We had booked a single king room at this Westin for three nights through a corporate rate of $150 a night. We called the hotel two times to confirm that we would be able to use the rate. When we get to the hotel, we're told the rate cannot be honored, and that the room will be $175 a night. Fine, stuff like this happens. However, what separates a poor hotel from a good one is how they handle situations like this. After receiving little help from Pamela at the front desk, I ask for the manager. Here's why the hotel could have easily received a 1 star rating.

Your manager is supposed to be the strongest member of your team, the most adept at handling situations like this one and coming up with solutions to make the hotel and the guest happy. The manager of this Westin, Scott, should not be a manager. Period.

Scott was brusque, bordering on rude, and informed us that the rate would not be honored, that nobody in his staff had told us on the phone that the rate would be honored (they did, or we wouldn't have booked the room), and that the "best he could do for us was $165 a night." With no acknowledgement of my SPG gold status, no offer to really check out the "best rate" they could offer me, Scott's pitch felt like  a used car salesman's pitch - "here's my offer. Take it or leave it."

Thankfully, we did not take it. We were about to go to the newly opened Le Meridian in Tampa, which had a room for $155 a night. That's when I checked my SPG app. Scott, the manager, the problem solver, had told me the best rate he could give me was $165 a night. And yet, on their very own app, was the rate of $142 a night.

We booked this $142 rate without a word or apology from Scott, who either attempted to hoodwink us, or whose customer service skills are so poor that he had no interest in truly assisting us. We dealt with Carlos for the rest of the reservation, and Carlos is the reason this hotel is getting 2 stars. Carlos is somebody who understands customer service, and would make a much better manager than Scott. Carlos was kind, friendly, and recognizing my SPG Gold status, upgraded us to a room with a gorgeous view.

The rest of the stay was more than adequate. The room was very nice, typical Westin. The restaurant, Aqua, is solid. This hotel could have had 4 stars easily, were it not marred by the terrible service we initially received.

Would I stay here again? Unlikely. I'd stay at Le Meridian. This hotel was nice, but the location is only good for the airport (not really around anything good in Tampa), and with a manager who is incapable of handling customers with legitimate problems, they don't have much going for them.

Bad experience. So checked in and went to the room, house cleaner was still there. She argued that I wasn't supposed to be in that room. Went back to lobby. Asked for new room. She argued that can't happen, the room showed clean? I said "tell the cleaner and give me a new room". At night I ordered a cheese tray. The lady asked if I knew the TV swiveled? I said ok. She grabbed the TV and it went off. She couldn't get it back on. Maintenance came and after 5 min said "we're going to move you to another room". I said. It's 10:30 at night? I don't want another room. When I checked out I was hoping they would ask as most hotels do "How was your stay"? Didn't happen. No thanks for staying no nothing.
Just an overall bad experience.

Stay elsewhere-if you want sleep.
"Do Not Disturb" means "Disturb. Everyday. Often"

Day One

We put out a sign that basically says "give me $5 instead of cleaning my room."
What this means to the cleaning staff is "knock on the door and walk into the room early" so that they can go home early.

I talked to the front desk and asked "Isn't this sign that says 'don't clean my room' the equivalent of a "Do Not Disturb" sign? He said yes, and apologized and said that the cleaning staff doesn't speak English, which I understand, and I have no problem with.  But that is not the problem.  There are only two sign choices.  "Do not clean" and "Do Not Disturb."  They are written in English, but management could tell them in Spanish that any sign hanging on the door means "Do Not Disturb."

This is not a language barrier.  This is done intentionally by the management of the hotel.  Here's why.

They are doing what is known as the "door bump."  These are low paid workers that are forced to clean a certain number of rooms to go home.  If they knock on the door nice and early, open the door, and yell "housekeeping" in a sweet voice with a foreign accent, they sound polite and confused all at once.  You think, "Oh crap, they woke me up and I will never be able to get back to sleep. I might as well get up and go to Starbucks."  Then you think "Should I be mad?  I paid to sleep and they didn't give me what I paid for."  Then you think "Nah, they must not understand, maybe she is from Mexico, has two kids and she is working her but off, and she just made an honest mistake."

But this wasn't a language barrier and it wasn't a mistake. Westin incentivizes its managers to save money on housekeeping.  Smart managers, under this system, train or incentivize housekeepers to "door bump."  You leave early and they get done faster.  The housekeeper keeps her job.  The manager gets a year end bonus and Westin and Starwood make more money and Wall Street is happy. Everybody wins except you.

Day Two

I put both signs out this time, with the "Do Not Disturb" on top.  The same thing happened.  The front desk was courteous, but they are powerless against the force of Wall Street.

Day Three

I put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign by itself.  Same Thing.

I had the benefit of a 4pm checkout through Starwood, but it didn't matter. Managers need their bonuses, so my "door bump" unofficial checkout starts at 9am sharp.

If you want sleep, stay at a hotel that puts the guest experience above these pennies.  On a side note.  The WiFi in the rooms is so slow that it is essentially unusable.
I paid for sleep and WiFi.  I got neither.

p.s.  They never gave me the $5 per day.  And I was too tired to complain.

We had a nice stay at the Westin while visiting from Seattle. We just stayed for one evening but wish we could have stayed longer. It's true that the hotel does seem a little more dated than your typical Westin, but we found the hotel clean and the staff friendly.

The location is right on the water and we had a nice view from the 12th floor. The staff at the front desk offered us a late checkout at 3PM which was nice. Parking, whether valet or self park, is only $5 which is much cheaper than other area hotels.

We didn't try the restaurant attached, but it looked good and seemed to have a nice crowd. The location of the hotel is nice and close to many shops and restaurants. The Starbucks in the lobby was tasty and convenient.

We will certainly be back for another stay upon our next visit!

Quite lovely hotel with very nice & professional staff. The view of the bay is nice so ask for a room with a bay view. Beds are very comfortable & rooms are very clean. It's up to the standard of Stargate hotels for sure.

However, most of the complaints about this place are quite true. For example, it's true about the walls being paper thin. If you plan to stay here make sure to bring ear plugs. Lucky for me, I always travel with a pair.

It's also true that Internet is $10 a day & it's not the fastest speed either which is very annoying when you're paying $10 days. Also they only allow up 3 devices a day per room to connect. So if you both have smartphones & 2 computers one of your devices can't hook up to your room. Kinda lame, I think, especially at $10.

The restaurant & bar at the hotel is over priced & the food is OK. There are much better places around here to grab a bite at better prices too.

In regards to the staff being unhelpful, rude & unprofessional, I saw non of that. They were very helpful & nice all the time. A door was ALWAYS opened for me when I would leave or come back. I appreciate that in today's day.

Would I stay here again if I return to Tampa? Most likely since I have a high status with Stargate Hotels so I get a few perks, like free parking, Internet & I like to acquire my points.

My advice, stay here if you have status with Stargate Hotels but BRING EAR PLUGS.

I will start by saying that the hotel itself is beautiful with an excellent location. The rooms were nice, with large bathrooms and excellent views. Our problems were with the staff. I've stayed at many hotels, and the Westin TB ranks towards the bottom in service. We were with a large wedding party and I was not the only one with issues.

The front desk staff had no power to fix problems. Decisions had to come from a higher up (who doesn't work on Sunday's). Our bill was way off. The rooms weren't ready (some of the party tried to check in at 7:30pm and were told their room wasn't ready!). The staff in the restaurant was very snippy, telling us that we couldn't sit with our friends if we weren't buying anything. There were so many empty tables that their comment was a bit funny. Even the 'manager' was making a scene. Sorry, we grabbed Starbucks instead of paying for an overpriced $20 breakfast that consisted of generic breakfast items.

The employees all looked like they hated their jobs. In the elevators, none of them smiled, nobody spoke, they just looked down at the floor. In my survey I filled out for the hotel, I mentioned a few areas they should focus on (training!). For a 4 star hotel, your staff should at least smile!

The Starbucks was located in the lobby which was nice. They were the friendliest workers we met in the whole building.

I came with a group for a bachelor party weekend and booked two rooms at the Westin.  The front desk was very accommodating to our party. We arrived a few hours before checkin and requested adjacent rooms. Even with a large wedding party they were able to fulfill our request. Took a bit of time, they got us what we needed. The rooms are nice and we had a great view of the bay. On our last morning we saw dolphins swimming around the water, so that was pretty neat.  The location is close to the Hard Rock, Mons Venus, and 2001 Odyssey so it was very convenient for us to get around via Uber or our own cars.

Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, convenient location... great stay!

First time to Westin.  Came here to relax and have a good weekend.  Heard good things about the hotel. Came to find out that the Westin does not care about rest and relaxation but rather money and the bottom line. We had an important family gathering to get to and after waking up and trying to take a shower, we had no hot water.  We called down to the front desk and informed them. We also informed them we were on a time crunch, even though they didn't care obviously.  After 20 minutes we had an "engineer" come to our room and inform us that he will need to completely replace the unit and it should take only 15-20 minutes. An hour and a half later and already late firm our gathering I was finally able to take a shower.  I would not have been so angry if it wasn't for the fact that we were so tired from having been kept up from the elevator traffic we could hear from the room which seemed to be located IN the elevator.  We came here to relax and get away from the daily grind. We're leaving more stressed then when we got here.

After we were able to leave the room, we saw a maid and asked if she could clean it.  Apparently her definition of cleanliness is to pull the covers up on the bed and make it look like it's been made.  That's all the "maid" service we were allowed. No towels. No picking up of used towels.  No wiping the counters. I mean, there's got to be laws about cleanliness of hotels and I'm guessing this one breaks most of them, from my experience.

Now comes management...  Scott Segreto... The worst customer service I've seen from a hotel in a very long time. We travel many times a year and spend a lot of money to get away and RELAX.  We know good customer service when we see it and know how to handle people. Scott was a disgrace from the beginning. Anxious to get away from us and eager to be alone. Scott was apologetic at first but after hearing our story became very defensive.  At this point in time Scott presented an ultimatum, free breakfast or $50 off one night.   I'm spending $500 for two nights and CANNOT SLEEP. This is ridiculous.

From this experience, after I catch up on my sleep, I will be taking my money elsewhere away from the Westin chain.  I will Not recommend Westin to any of my family and friends.  If you want REST and RELAXATION do NOT come to Westin in Tampa.

Nice location, horrible customer service. Had an issue with the room and informed the front desk who quickly pushed us to Scott the "manager".  It seemed like Scott was watching dancing monkeys in his head while he listened to our problems.  After he stopped hearing noise come from our mouths he condescendingly offered a free breakfast for our troubles, as if eggs and orange juice are the cure all for any of life's issues.  After I refused his grand gesture, he became rude and belligerent, almost to the point of yelling at us.  Scott should never be a manager and we escalated this to his boss Ronald Alicandro. Guess we'll see where that gets us.

Room was also next to an elevator with a half window. Good luck if you want REST and RELAXATION

I stayed in the Sheraton Suites near the airport for two weeks, so here is my comparison. The price is a little over double the other hotel, but with my corporate rate, it's only $4 more a week. Westin definitely has that upscale, elegant feel. Super modern, high class. Looks big and grand from the outside, and only a 5m drive from the airport. Employees are VERY nice. Good sized room with the double beds, there is a separate shower and bath tub, and the wood trim is elegant. The texture on the bathroom walls is beautiful, and all walls are painted a nice green color. I was able to sleep well on their super comfortable bed. There is a Starbucks, Aqua lounge, small private beach, and beautiful lobby. The beach is small, but the sand is so soft and the weather works even when cloudy. Jet skiing is $55 for 1/2 hr, and you need to take a 15 min boating test for $3 if born after 1988. View is truly amazing in the morning--you can see a nice body of water, and the sun shining on the buildings has this warm look to it. Executive club has a pretty good view, serves food, and sells some drinks. At BluVu, the view just gets crazier and you see water everywhere!

However, there are some hassles and imperfections. Being tired and coming off an LAX flight, it took some time for me to navigate the floor and find my room (it's like a long Tetris S shape, and the signs don't point you correctly the first time around). Had to get a parking pass from the front desk, which I didn't have to do at the other hotel. After hanging up my clothes in the closet, I got frustrated when I couldn't close the closet doors (someone mounted them too closely). Lastly, toilet seemed reluctant to flush and needed some motivation to do so. All these things combined made me drop a star.

All in all, it's like comparing a fully loaded Camry (Sheraton) and mid-level Lexus (Westin). Sure, Westin looks and feels nice for a bit (has those WOW, PARADISE moments), but I feel like I got a lot more value from the Sheraton.
