Manuel is the best hotel manager ever.  He has been so helpful, making sure my first time to Tampa is easy as possible.  He's hooking me up with all the good stuff....like Elvis.

Elvis is the best driver ever.  I think he works for Pronto Car Service or something, but every time I need to go some where or be picked up, he is there!  He rocks.  He even worked overtime to make sure I got home from my fair.. there he was waiting, van door open - and with a name like Elvis (who is from the Dominican Republic and favors a light pink shirt), how can you go wrong?!  He even offered to take me to get two glasses of wine with him, but we both decided it was probably not a good idea to own a car service and drink wine and drive.  How smart.

Manuel and Elvis are the very best things about Tampa.  I will miss them tomorrow.  Luckily Elvis is taking me to the airport...sans wine.

I enjoyed a very comfortable stay at this hotel. We had come to visit Big Cat Rescue, which is about 20-25 minutes away. It's right across from USF and less that five minutes away from Busch Gardens. Adequate parking, free wi-fi, halfway decent (free) breakfast. Beds were comfortable, rooms very clean. Lot's of places to eat nearby. Only complaints: elevators slow and noisy, hot tub is in an enclosed room attached to their small fitness room, allowing for a strong chlorine smell to build up, so we stuck to the pool only. I would definitely recommend, try not to pay over $80(ish) a night if you can help it though.

Clean hotel and rooms.  Well maintained.  My family visit Busch garden & it's water park.  Wingate offers complimentary shuttle to and fro.  This is added value since parking is $15/day at the parks.

Stayed here for Busch Gardens. Perfect proximity to the park, and food. Clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Nice area and again, perfect if your going to seaworld or busch gardens. Right next to University of South FL, and a mall.

If you're going to Busch Gardens or USF this hotel is in a good location. The rooms are clean and spacious, the business center worked for the most part, but that's about all the good this hotel can provide.

The WiFi is horrible. Nothing works on it, not laptops, tablets, phones, nothing. There is one wired cable in the room and that works pretty well, but if you've got kids or anyone using tablets, forget it. This made our business trip extremely painful. The jacuzzi was broken the whole time. It was running, we could see it running, but there was a sign on the door that it was out of order and no one seemed to have a clue when or if it might be fixed.

The free breakfast was the same, tired, depressing cheap crap every day. You'd better get there before 10 because the hotel staff might take the food right out of your mouth in their mad, mad rush to get it all broken down and cleaned up before 10:05am. It's not "stop serving" at 10, it's "get the hell out, no more food for you" at 10. They will fight you for that last muffin.

The final thing that bothered me, not directly but just in principal, is their really ridiculous payment policy. The credit card you check in with MUST be the same card you use at checkout. No exceptions, so says the snarky sign at the desk. What if husband checks in with his card but they plan to pay on wife's card? Until you go to check out you might miss this. I think it's a really bad, unprofessional, and just plain unfriendly policy. We were not forced to confront this but I can just imagine the poor family that has or will soon.

On a whim we walked through the La Quinta Inn next door the other day and it looked much nicer. At least their jacuzzi was working...

This is my 3rd time staying here and I love it. The beds are comfortable and the rooms always smell fresh and clean. They have free breakfast every morning between 7 - 10 am,  which includes eggs, waffles, sausage, toast, bagels, juices ,muffins, tea, coffee, flavored creamers, milk, chocolate milk, fresh fruits, grits, and oatmeal. The staff is very friendly and professional. I would recommend this hotel anyone.

Stayed here for the last few nights and can't say I was disappointed! The hotel was immaculate, the staff couldn't have been nicer and the breakfast buffet was excellent! There was a plentiful array of hot and cold cereals, milks, coffees, teas, breads, muffins, eggs and sausage. My room was cleaned every day and the wifi, tv and airco. worked very well. The computers in the business center and the pool were clean as well.

My only complaint is that the treadmill wasnt working. The jacuzzi was on, but it was like being in a lukewarm bathtub. Also, they start cleaning up the breakfast area at ten on the dot, so you better have finished by then :)

Overall, a good experience! Great for visiting USF and Busch Gardens. Not too far from UTampa, either.

I had stayed here last year for business twice with each stay being 14 nights. So when my husband and I decided on a little mini getaway to Tampa I suggested we stay at the Wingate By Wyndam. The staff all remembered me and greeted me like family. Just as when I stayed for business a year ago the hotel is still run top notch. I wonder how they attract and keep such a good staff compared to other hotels around the country. Even though this is a chain, you would never get that feeling. Clean and really nice private pool, very nice indoor hot tub room, great selection for breakfast even for people who can't do gluten or carbs. Nothing is ever out of order or broken. Rooms are immaculate and spacious. I guess the ONLY thing that I could mention that was a negative was that we were there on election night and we like the coverage by CNN but the hotel cable packages does not get CNN. Your choices for cable news are either Fox News or MSNBC. NOT good. But seriously that is the ONLY negative I can come up with. We WILL be back no doubt.

I'm going to try and make this quick. First walk into the lobby there was a weird stench. Can't put my finger on the smell but was stinky through out entire hotel. They gave us the wrong room and acted like they couldn't do anything about it because the hotel was full. Walls were soooo thin that whatever  "party" was going on in the next room we heard all details so sleeping was difficult. Bed felt like I was laying on piled up newspapers anyway so sleeping was difficult and uncomfortable! Long story short, way overpriced for type of hotel it is! Ok done.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, very close to Busch gardens and USF. They have a free shuttle to Busch gardens. The workout area is very small, but the breakfast is pretty decent and offers hot items.
