Even though the location really kinda sucks, this hotel gets 4 stars for doing everything it is supposed to.  Good service, decent gym, great outdoor pool, starbucks in the lobby.  If you are into jogging, the surrounding office park is nice and quiet early and late, with plenty of paths you can lope around.

That said, if you stay here you either a) work in one of the adjacent office buildings and are not a morning person, or b) really, really, really want your Marriott points!

Stayed here during a conference. Got an okay rate of $99 per night and the rooms were nice although the bathrooms were quite small. The staff was amazing at check-in and during the stay. The service in the restaurant/bar was quite slow but other than that it was great. Would probably stay here again.

The hotel is nice along with the service. But I will probably avoid Marriott's going forward if free wifi or internet is not available in rooms. You would think a full-service Marriott would include this basic service when other Marriott's do. To charge $12.95 per day is crazy! I will stay at a Hilton or other product that includes free wifi until Marriott includes this in their room charge.

inexpensive Marriott which looks like an Embassy Suites in a convenient location off of I-*%. Unfortunately, there's not much in the way of amenities, but the Concierge Lounge and Workout Facilities are nice. Hotels need to have free wifi, or at least working wifi.

I stayed at this hotel because I had to attend a wedding.  I wanted a deal so I booked on Priceline and was able to secure a night at $60, plus tax.

This hotel seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but it is pretty decent.  The room was spacious and updated, and the interior of the hotel appeared nice.  

The room service was terrible though.  We ordered a cheese quesadilla, specifically stating NO MEAT, and of course when we got it after the hour wait there was meat in it.  I called Room service and let them know and they said all they could do was make another one and bring that up, in 30 minutes.  We didn't have time for this as we were waiting to go to a wedding, and they refused to comp it.  After 3 minutes arguing with the receptionist she agreed to comp the $13 quesadilla and that was fine.  I don't understand what the hassle was about, they screwed up the order.

Anyway, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable so not much to complain about.

Stayed here while working at Emory for 2 nights. Very nice hotel and the staff was very friendly. Will return.

I have stayed downtown Atlanta previously, and while the downtown hotels were good I liked this one better. It is a bit on the outskirts in an office park setting. But there is plenty of local food in the area and a good restaurant on site.

The room was clean and comfortable and the A/C actually cooled the room properly which seems difficult to come by sometimes. Parking was free, but internet is $12.95. As a frequent traveler this fee is waived, but it may be an issue for others.

If traveling in/out of the city traffic could be an issue. Where I was going it was not.

Needed a hotel nearby to while our hardwood floors were being refinished.  Marriott Century Center exceeded our expectations.  The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the front desk to the restaurant.  

The decor is very contemporary and the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable.

The staff was even more helpful when my thought she had left a bracelet at the hotel.  Even though we had checked out a few hours prior, they escorted me back up to the room so I could look around. Later found the bracelet had fallen into a side pocket in our luggage at home.

Highly recommend for out of town guests.

Came here for one night after my wedding. Great friendly helpful staff. Hotel is overall very clean. Nice amenities like pool, restaurant, souvenir store, Starbucks, and fitness center. Had a room with a single queen. The bed is amazingly soft and the room was decent size. The restroom was very nice but small. No big deal. Definitely recommended for anyone trying to enjoy there stay.

We are so pleased we found this Marriott.  Clearly, the folks there get customer service, and are just very very pleasant and happy to do business with.  Everyone employee we ran into was just exceptional.

Visiting friends in nearby Decatur, we booked one night to stay here.  However, we were taking a redeye flight, arriving at 6:00am on a Saturday.  Would they allow us to check in early?  Like, waaay early?

I called the hotel from the west coast during the late evening prior,just as we got on the plane.  The front desk clerk was named Ljerka, and she said, "No problem, I will be on the end of my shift when you come in,  and I will have a room waiting for you."

5 hours later, bleary eyed, we walked into the Marriott.  Ljerka was there, and as promised , she had a room available.  It's really a nice hotel, with an atrium like center and waterfall  Room was very clean, very comfortable bed.  We had a view away from the freeway, looking at parkland and trees.

Hot tip: Pay the extra money for the buffet breakfast.  We walked over the breakfast buffet and the staff there was just exceptional.  One particular person was named Valbona, and she was so bright and cheerful (mind you, this was at 6:30 am and we were exhausted from our trip).  There is a Starbucks also on site, and the next day she was there also.  Just great customer service.

Also, it continued at the hotel bar.  Cherry was the name of the lady that worked there, excellent customer service.

We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights on business.  Had stayed here previously and noticed that the lobby and restaurant have been remodeled and it looks nice.  

Was greeted by super friendly front desk staff and had dinner with some coworkers at the hotel restaurant.  We were one of 3 tables seated in the restaurant and the service was super sloooooooooow.  Maybe they thought it was better that they said, "My pleasure" after everything you said or asked them, and it certainly was their pleasure because to refill an iced tea or get more water was a pleasurable 20+ minutes!  We found it kind of comical and now have a thing going at the office where we say, "My pleasure" all the time.  Food was pretty good at the restaurant, with the exception of the "soft lettuce" salad which was just a giant bowl of lettuce and 4 cherry tomatoes.  Nothing else on it!  Just call it "bowl of soft lettuce and 4 cherry tomatoes", is what I suggest.  

My room was 519 and while it had a comfy bed, it was a small room.  It reminded me of a room in Europe where you roll over in your bed and you pretty much roll into the wall.  The room had ONE queen bed.  Found that odd, as most hotel rooms have 2 queens or a king.  It was like they ran out of space when building the rooms and debated whether or not the space remaining would be suitable for a hotel room or a closet.  They chose the hotel room, but the closet may have been the better choice.  Speaking of closet...my closet door was off it's tracks and I had to literally pick it up and move it to open/shut the closet door.  The AC unit/vent was on the wall that my bed nearly backed up to so everytime it went on/off during the night, I would wake up, usually with my hair blowing in the wind from the breeze! The bathroom was fine, but super small.  No place to put any of your toiletries, really.  But, it worked out just fine.  My room's view was to the freeway and so it was a bit noisy, but after a few vodka sodas at dinner the 2nd night, I couldn't even hear them.  haha

All in all, not a bad hotel.  Our company utilizes it often because our offices are literally right across the street where you can walk to them.  Cannot comment on location to anything else.  Friendly staff, ok rooms and decent prices.

Had to attend an event at Emory so the location was great.  Got a rate of 71 dollars which made the stay even better.  The rooms are small, but clean and nicely decorated.  If you ask for two beds the will be doubles. The charge for internet in the room, but free in the lobby. Nice spacious lobby.  Free parking.  Friendly staff.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Every single staff member I interacted with was friendly and asked me how I was doing- from the manger to the shuttle driver. Great customer service experience.

The room itself was clean and comfortable. The hotel lobby was modern, clean and inviting. I took advantage of the business center to print for free and check my email quickly.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that needs to stay in the area for business.

This is my third time staying at this hotel. I've been attending the same conference that's held there twice a year and always stay 3 to 5 nights. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean and the conference area is outstanding.

This time I also got to use the pool which was fun, clean and relaxing. The fire pit is great, too!

I only wish the restaurant had a permanent gluten-free menu so I could eat there. They don't like it when people eat outside of the hotel or bring outside food in, but I'm forced to since there's only one thing I can eat on their entire menu, and I'm not paying $11 for a piece of hamburger meat and eating that same piece of meat twice a day for five days. I had a reaction last time I stayed there after having the french fries they claimed were "safe," so I've learned to travel with my own food.

The only other issue I've had is with conferences we almost always have roommates and they consistently mess up the bills. We try to make it clear, but meals either get put on the wrong person's check (when the receipts have names written on them) or they divide up the nights wrong. I don't think it should be this confusing, but I've found it's just easier to not charge anything on my room tab & pay separately with my credit card for any incidentals instead.

Overall a great hotel, fantastic conference center, and very friendly staff.

I would give this Marriott three and a half stars if I could. The price was amazing for a conference rate in a large metro area: $89 per night. We couldn't believe it! There were some things that weren't great, but the price could not be beat.

It was quite clear that this had been, at some time, an Embassy Suites, as it had that exact architecture and layout. It was a very nice hotel, with free lot parking, a restaurant and a coffee bar. The room was lovely, but not too quiet, as there were TWO doors adjoining the next door rooms. I had never seen that before, and I wasn't incredibly pleased by it. We could hear a lot of what the neighbors were saying when we checked in around 4:30 p.m. Also, the Internet was not free, and cost about $13.00 for 24 hours.

The room itself was very nice and super comfortable, and I don't remember a lot of outdoor noise infiltrating the room. The bathroom was smaller than a same-rate Hampton Inn we had stayed in the night before traveling to Atlanta, but nice.

The coffee shop noted that it "served" Starbucks coffee, but it was NOT a Starbucks. It's not a big deal, and the food offerings were good (a giant, delicious croissant), but the coffee doesn't taste exactly the same as your grande soy latte at an actual Starbucks. We had had bad experiences with breakfast delivery in other hotels, when we did our menu the night before and specified a time and then waited in the morning and waited and waited and waited, but our service here was prompt and friendly. We appreciated that as we had a busy day.

I would absolutely stay here again, but I would specify that I do not want a double-adjoining room.

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel while attending a conference. The staff was very helpful and professional. Bedding and bathroom clean and room tidy. Rooms were a little small but that worked fine for what I needed. Conference wi-fi was in and out, but I understand they had a tech come in to repair over the course of several hours.

Only other challenge was they show one shuttle service from the airport on the website. I would have liked a few more options from the hotel. Learned about more from other attendees to the conference.

Overall, great experience. Looking forward to going back.

Really nice property that's just off I-85 in North Atlanta. If you're planning to use this as a forward beachhead into the city, forget it. The Atlanta traffic is really bad. For where I needed to be, this property was ideal.

Plenty of parking both for hotel guests as well as the meeting areas, the hotel is an interior atrium similar to the Embassy Suites style. Friendly staff and very clean/quiet rooms. The view was nothing to write home about - parking lot on one side, trees on the other. As a "full-service" style property, this Marriott has a bar and a restaurant as well as room service, fitness and business centers and gift shop.

I booked the room using Priceline where I saved more than 35% on the Marriott.com price. That said, I did not get points or nights applied to my Marriott Rewards account.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely!

I average 30-50 nights a year at Marriott properties and don't usually review them on yelp.   Making an exception because upon reflection the service/staff really were exceptional. Everyone from the front desk, bar, cafe & concierge lounge were exceptionally efficient, nice and just plain friendly during a very short 1-night stay when I was visiting Emory on business.

These days, (I feel) it's rare to come across a hotel that charges you for Internet, especially when you're paying the room rate.  Well, this Marriott tacks on $12.95/day for Internet service.  And the service sucks.  It's spotty, slow, and unreliable.  What a hustle!

On the plus side, the rooms are clean.

This hotel is beautiful!  The hotel staff amazed me with their professionalism and courtesy. They treated my husband and I as if we were coming to visit an old friend. We celebrated our anniversary and we were surprised by a bottle of champagne and such a nice upgrade to a suite! The fitness center was awesome. After eating all of this wonderful food of the ATL i had to get some cardio in. Excellent clean place. The next time we visit Atlanta we will definitely stay here. Convenient location to most of the downtown attractions without all of the traffic. The restaurant was nice with excellent breakfast.  Everything at this hotel is reasonably priced. The parking is complementary which really cuts cost in comparison to some of the other hotels near by. All and all this hotel is a win win!

Wonderful experience every time I am here, the staff is absolutely fantastic. I can honestly say I would go out of my way to stay here, beautiful hotel, food has always been very good, but the staff gives it the wow factor. Polite, courteous, accommodating and super friendly, hoping they are recognized for this as it makes you want to come back again and again. First class service, thank you!

Stayed here for three nights, expecting  a room with a king sized bed, on the concierge floor.  When we got there, they took forever to find our reservation.   Then they told us they only had one room available that first night, a handicap accessible room with two full sized beds 12 floors from the concierge lounge we had paid for access to.  We felt like leaving right then but it was really late and our infant daughter was miserable.   So we took the room.  With the crib, the room was tiny and cramped.  The morning after my husband went down to the lobby to ask about the room change we were promised.  They told him they still did not have that room available; he had to argue with them until they agreed to move us.  All this when we had a reservation that clearly stated a concierge - level king suite.  

The next night they moved us to the room we had originally booked.  This room was spacious as we had expected,  and easily accommodated a crib for our daughter. And we were 3 doors down from the concierge lounge.

The room was clean, the decor nice, the hotel staff pleasant.  What killed our stay was the substandard room the first night, and the reluctance to move us.

Pretty much what you'd expect from a Marriott. Bed was very comfy, loved the toiletries, shower was great. The only con: Our room had one of those doors that can be unlocked to connect two rooms and we could hear the people in the next room pretty clearly through it.  If you're sensitive to noise you may want to request a room without this. Otherwise a good experience.

This review is moreso for the lobby and bar area...had the nicest experience at the bar with a bartender who knew how to mix a Gin and St. Germain perfectly. Usually there's too much of one or the other but his was excellent! Clean and comfortable atmosphere makes for a Happy patron. I'll definitely return!

Who knew that this place had an awesome breakfast buffet?!?!?!  Seriously-- bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, Belgium waffles made to order, breakfast pizza, blintzes aka crepes filled with sweet cheese, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, eggs made to order, muffins, danishes, etc.  The staff is really kind.  

The rooms are nice, nothing special.  The lobby is a decent size as well.  This hotel is not far from 85 so it is easy to get places and a good location for out of town guests to stay.

Sooooo we are staying here for a conference.  We go to connect to the Wifi and what? Paid internet? O man :( I was shocked that our room was nearly $200 a night and they don't provide complimentary wifi? I can get free wifi at Home Depot and Super 8...buuuut not the Marriott? I was very disappointed by this. The front desk tells me they will have free internet starting in January.  O and you can connect for free in the lobby...because th as ts exactly where I want to work...right in the busy loud lobby. Boo Marriott.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Great customer service as well as clean comfortable rooms. I enjoyed my stay very much here. There were some complications with the rooms and the staff were extremely kind and helped fix it right away, the mistake was originally my fault not the hotels - the staff immediately helped me figure out the room situation and made sure to check with me the next morning to see if everything was alright. The hotel is very clean, and the beds are very comfortable. There is also a shuttle to take you to the MARTA station and is very convenient to get to where you need/want to go. All of the hotel staff were really nice, I haven't met anyone who was not nice.  

I see in the other reviews that the hotel wifi is awful. However, mine was the paid $12.95 wifi and the connection was fine, speed was not too fast but it was not slow and it was reliable. When I stayed at the hotel, it was completely booked - so it was quite amazing that the internet was still reliable and strong.

Nice building, but major issues with the Hotel Room itself.  Stayed over the Weekend of May 9th, 2015.  Major issues with the room.  After opening hotel room door with multiple key card swipes, it would 'lock' and the door would not close completely as a result.  I had to pull the door handle to get it to shut completely.  This is a security concern and left a bad impression.

There was no way to close the blinds to block sunlight coming into the room.  Not good if you would like a mid day nap.  

Closet doors seem to be off the railing, majorly disconcerting since they are glass mirrors.

Finally, the bathroom toilet had terrible pressure, would not flush completely.  Called the lobby and had engineering up to fix what was initially thought to be a clog, but did not flush with any pressure the rest of the stay.  Had to hold the handle down.  Overall a bad room experience.  

I would not recommend this hotel with other great options in the city.

Staff gets 5 stars.

Hotel itself nice. Lobby area is top notch. Rooms are a bit dated, bathroom is extremely small.  Noise does carry from the lobby area to hotel rooms along with the bright lights.

Magnetic key cards were not good, every day I had to have a new card made.

They do have hair dryers in rooms but they need to be upgraded.  Vending machines didn't work on my floor.

Tv station selection not  the greatest.

Overview: This Atlanta Marriott Century Center is a ~3-4 star class hotel with free parking located right next to the 85 freeway on the north-east side of Atlanta. Contrary to its name, it is not actually close to Emory or the Emory hospital system (definitely not within walking distance).

The Establishment: This hotel has an interesting triangular prism layout (see photos here on Yelp) that leaves the center of the building hollow and only has rooms facing the outside. The elevators that take you up to your room are glass and offer a great view of the lobby. It imparts a pretty vibe to the hotel's lobby and the ascent to your room... but in my opinion it's a poor design choice because this arrangement just makes a giant area of the volume of the hotel unusable. No guest room windows face the inside of the hotel.

The Room: Beds and pillows were of average comfort and I had a lot of trouble falling asleep. Central air conditioning was good though it did feel humid during my stay. The main thing that frustrated me during my stay was the lack of both WiFi and cellular reception in my 11th floor room. My boredom led me to look out the window but then the view of the freeway was also not very pleasant. The room was not very sound-insulating and I could hear people walk past my door but the hotel didn't seem very packed during my visit and I didn't have any adjacent neighbors.

The Bathroom: The bathroom is pretty small and as a result, some questionable design choices had to be made. See below for my least favorite towel rack location ever: right against your crotch as you wash your hands. Otherwise it's a very unremarkable hotel room bathroom.

Conclusions: The Atlanta Marriott Century Center/Emory Area has free parking, and a really cool lobby, but its average bed comfort, its small bathroom, its lack of cellphone or WiFi reception at least on the higher floors, and its distance from Emory keep me from wholeheartedly recommending this hotel.

I had prepaid for the room before reading the comments, so I was a little scared before going on my trip. I was very pleasantly surprised, it was beautiful. The lobby was like a 5 star hotel. My room was lovely and included a free breakfast, I think I got a very good deal on the room.
