I've been doing business here for years, and they are awesome.  Great staff, personal attention, etc.

Give them a try.

Staff is friendly, but facility is a dump. Dirty carpet, stained tile and tub, old masking tape holding on the base tile...come on Hilton, spend a few bucks to at least clean. And if you get a room on low floor in the low teens, the kitchen exhaust fan is right outside your window...noisy and smelly.

After the Red Roof Inn fiasco of the night before in Gainesville, FL, I was sooo happy to have a beautiful room in Atlanta! Clean, comfy bed, no "ick" factor, and a peaceful night sleep. Nice size parking lot for my moving truck, felt safe and no problems. I will stay here again if I'm in Atlanta.

Hotels in Atlanta remind me of cab drivers in Baltimore....somehow there are much lower standards in this one city that are drastically different than every other city I've been to. Take this Doubletree, on the outside, looks like a decent property. But when you dig in and look at the details:
- crap internet connection speedtest.net/result/114… .3 down. Are you kidding me?
- lukewarm cookies - I've stayed at Doubletrees before...you're supposed to be good at one thing - Cookies!
- Poorly insulated rooms: I don't care if it's Atlanta
- Tiny bathrooms even in the nicer suites
and
-uncomfortable pillows

this place came up short.

I stayed at this Doubletree for one night in February 2012.

My overall opinion is that it's just average - especially for a Doubletree. The rooms could definitely use some updating/upgrading, but the staff were friendly. The night I stayed there was some sort of function, and it was a bit noisy at times.

The hotel is located right off of I-75 and Windy Hill Road. So if you're in town for business at one of the surrounding companies (e.g., Lockheed) it's a great location. There's a Chick-Fil-A and Popeye's right next door. Across the street there are other fast food establishments: McDonald's, Arby's, Panda Express, etc. Also, across the street is a Target. It's about a 5-7 minute drive from Cumberland Mall where you will find many dining choices (e.g., Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano's, Stoney River, etc.).

I got an awesome weekend rate ($55), so I can't complain too much. I wouldn't willingly pay much more than that though.

So I went flying down to Atlanta over Labor Day weekend and thought that I would check out this hotel, seeing as other individuals that I knew were staying there.  Let's get started.

The hotel is a very nice hotel, in terms of amenities and accomodations.  They have a nice outdoor pool, an indoor hot tub, mini-business center, restaurant (which I did not try) and bar (again, which I didn't try).  The rooms were very comfortable, and the suite that I stayed in was extremely nice.  It had a media center with flat screen TV, direct access to the pool, two bathrooms, and a nice king size bed.  The cookies that they gave at the front desk were warm and good, and the housekeeping staff very attentive to needs.  There is a Chik-Fil-A steps from the front door, and a McDonald's across the street, very convenient for those late night munchies.

Unfortunately, a situation that didn't have to occur, did.  Believe it or not, it started at the front desk and stretched out two weeks.  One thing I have learned is that when you are in the hospitality industry, customer service is KEY.  That means, you do not talk to someone like they are a child and then in the same sentence act inappropriate...especially if there are other individuals in the area of the front desk.  I spoke with the front desk supervisor, who referred me to the front desk manager, who told me the same line I've heard time and time again:  "I will talk with him about the issue and will do some coaching".  To be honest I've heard this line so many times, that I don't hold stock in it anymore.

Long story short, after going to the Diamond desk at Corporate and asking for an apology and bonus points and going back and forth for almost two weeks, the Diamond desk is sending me a certificate good for a free stay at any Doubletree.  I'll accept it, but I will not again stay at this hotel....or any Hilton property in Atlanta, for that matter.

Great location in Smyrna, GA. The rooms are pleasant and the staff is utterly nice! The Mondo Mocha Cafe will give you a foodgasm!

Very nice clean friendly good food in the waitresses in the restaurant are phenomenal, The town had a power outage yesterday and the entire staff, pulled it together we had hors d'oeuvres and drinks under soft lighting, until the power came back on they made the best of it. The House keeping service is wonderful however the spray they use to freshen the carpets is too much. very strong smell

I stayed at this Doubletree for two nights in June.  It was the hotel that had the best price for my flight/hotel package that I booked online.  It was easy to find, and close to the Cobb Galleria convention center (my  destination).  Check in was very smooth. The desk clerk was very friendly and able to give me directions to all of the local establishments I asked about. He was able to look up my Hilton Honors account so I could get two free sodas and free internet (which should be free anyway!)  My room was clean and well maintained. The bed was a little hard for my liking, but that may just be me. The bed had plenty of pillows and they were all soft and comfortable. I had no problems with the WIFI.  I will be going back to the area next year, and will likely stay here again. The only reason I would not stay here again is if I choose to stay within walking distance of the Cobb Galleria.

I did not eat at the restaurant, but I did have a drink at the bar.  The service was good, but I felt the prices were pretty high.

The valet and check in staff were very friendly.  lobby was clean and stylish.  elevator was a little dirty.  room and beds were smaller than expected. beds were clean and comfortable.  good location downtown.  encountered one rude staff member, everyone else super helpful.  maybe he was just having a bad day?  check in and check out process was quick and easy.

After experiencing the hotel - in all of it's faded glory.  The hot tubs looked as if someone had LOOFA SCRUBBED in them, hair lumps and yeah just gross.

The restaurant served BAD (as in rotten) hummus and the food was all over the board inconsistent.  The servers didn't know what the food was supposed to be, rooms service didn't bring what was ordered...the kitchens closed an HOUR before the posted time...

room maid service was inconsistent too...

my third ...and last...visit to this hotel.

We stayed at the Double Tree for one night when we stopped outside Atlanta. It was very nice. The beds were super comfortable and the room was decent-sized. It was clean and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Their breakfast was fairly expensive, so we opted to eat out in Atlanta instead.

To the people who criticized the place as if it's a destination...It's a mid range, business traveler-targeted hotel...what were you expecting? It's clean, service is the epitome of Southern hospitality, and you get a warm cookie when you check in. Oh, AND free coffee, and if you're a member of Hilton Honors, free wi-fi.

I appreciated the business center, which offered comfy seats with attached tables, as well as full desks.

The property is a business hotel, mid range and decent. It has a great business center with full desks and areas to sit. The common areas a plentiful and comfortable.  I was able to conduct interviews here without concern of nosey people and I observed others conducting small business meetings. This is not a vacation style hotel as the pool is small and wedged between the driveway and building.

I was least impressed with TV in the room. I will work early or late while traveling and like to watch the news. This hotel has big flat screen tvs and analog cable. Meaning you can get HGTV and FOOD network but none of the major networks. Seems crazy in this day and age

Food was typical and unimpressive but the people were good, helpful and friendly.

It's not hard to step out and walk to nearby fast food places, but more upscale will require uber or a shuttle. Btw the shuttle here does not go to the airport.

Outside of a great business center it's just average. I will probably look for another place mainly because of the TV.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay and it was late at night so we stopped here and the price and staff were amazing! The room was very clean, the showers were very clean and had marble walls. The location was great, far enough from the interstate not to hear the traffic but close enough to make a few turns and be on in less than 3 minutes. Upon check in your receive a fresh warm cookie! They do have a breakfast but we didn't wake up early enough for that. They also have a restaurant and bar located downstairs. It was a wonderful experience for us.
