We were not terribly impressed, and here's why: Having seen the lovely pictures online, and thinking I wanted to book a fairly upscale place for a 5-day getaway for my husband me (without the kids), I chose Double Tree Guest Suites.  Upon entering our suite, we immediately noticed the big stains (plural) on the carpeting.  If you didn't look down, the suite was very pretty.  But small problems persisted: the mini fridge in the room was waaaaay mini, and barely cold.  In fact, it couldn't chill a six pack in 2 days time.  Just made the bottle feel a little cool.  There was no bottle opener in the room.  The bathtub was unappealingly yellowed.  The bed pillows sank to pancake status with any pressure.  There were dirty dishes in front of rooms across the hall, several times.  Hallways smelled strongly of disinfectant.  The front desk was overwhelmed, gave abysmal directions, tried to charge us for our complimentary Internet service and (of course) could not local a bottle opener for us when we inquired.  Oh yes - and we could hear voices and laughter through the walls at 3:00 a.m.  Each one of these issues was no great cause for having a fit, but added together they produced real disappointment.  Parking was free and convenient, and while the complimentary cookie upon arrival was thoughtful, we wouldn't go back.

Comfy beds, great business center, "mascots" (chocolate chip cookies) were bomb!

    Summary:
    --decent business hotel
    --free parking
--both conventional room and suite configuration
    --in room lighting so so

I've stayed here several times while on business in the area.  Even after repeated stays and as a member in the Hilton loyalty program the staff will sometimes give you a terrible room, near the dumb vending and ice machines, for instance.

Very nice clean modern rooms. Overall appearance of the hotel is sort of old, was likely not a Doubletree from the start. The rooms is large though. Breakfast was adequate, typical of Doubletree with eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes. Avoid the waffles, you may loose a tooth :)

May be tricky to find, sort of hides behind a Hampton Inn that looks similar and small dark driveway hidden by landscaping, so look carefully for it.

Gross.  No idea how this place carries the DoubleTree name.  It looks like an outdated Embassy Suites with the service of a motel 6.  My room smelled like a tobacco yard and their were stains all over the rug.  Maybe this is why the room lighting is so bad.  When I let the front desk know about this, I was told that they were noting this and the GM will inspect the room in the morning. I guess this is good news for the next guest--tough crap for me.

    A decent hotel.
Giant bathtub that I didn't get a chance to use.

The cookie when I checked in was nice.

Nothing special to report, not overly good, not overly bad, just an average hotel.

We stayed here for 6 nights while in town for a wedding. The wedding was hosted at the hotel. The staff here was sooooo helpful. The brunch was good and worth it if you are able to get any discount coupons... other wise it is 14 dollars and probably not the best value... though convenient.
Call the front desk before you pay for Wi-Fi, they may be able to give you a code for free.
The rooms are suites so they are nice and big. The bedroom is separate from the living space. Room has a coffee maker and mini fridge.
I would stay here again for sure!

It felt kinda weird staying at a hotel in Atlanta when my apartment was only 5 miles away. It was after my wedding, and my wife insisted that we stay at a hotel after our wedding. I didn't see the point but oh well.

What can I say about this hotel? It's a decent hotel. It had clean rooms and a comfy bed. The TV had cable.

The breakfast was okay. It didn't blow me away.

I liked the view when you exit your room. The middle of the hotel is open, so you can see the whole hotel. If you have a fear of heights, it might bother you a little bit. But I did like the design of the interior.

The free cookie was always good.

The staff here is outstanding.  And it's not just one person, or one area.  The front desk staff is great, the wait staff is great, and the housekeeping staff is nice.

The rooms are clean, facilities are nice, and the staff is exceptional.  Even the location is good, as it is right near the mall and a lot of restaurants.  Not much more I could ask.

Only less than positive experience I've had was when we couldn't get a flight out on Friday and ended up staying until Saturday.  That night, the hotel had a huge family reunion in town, and apparently about 40% of the children came to the event without their parents.  The design of the hotel made it pretty noisy in that environment.  Not really the hotel's fault, though.

Overall, really happy with the hotel.  Stay here everytime I'm in town and will continue to do so.

Nice hotel, currently getting some remodel so I won't hit them for that. Mmmm... I love that Doubletree cookie!

This has the "Embassy Suites" style layout, where the center of the hotel is a large atrium and the rooms are accessed from catwalks. If you're at all dealing with fear-of-heights issues, then make sure you get a room on a lower level.

The room is a suite and so the "second" room has a couch that folds out. Since this was actually my friend's room and we're both dudes (no homo), I opted to sleep on the fold out rather than in the other queen-sized bed. It was not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be.

Breakfast would be "me thinks not". When I popped down at the late hour of 8:30, they were low on eggs, the potatoes were greasy, most of the tables were not set or still had dishes on them. I won't blame the one waitress because she was moving as fast as she could.

The room was quiet and it had a nice work area and "wet bar" with a small fridge. The pool could use a good cleaning as it had quite a few leaves in it. But that didn't both us when we sat out there drinking beers (purchased from the gas station nearby) and smoking cigars (see separate review).

If I'm in Northwest Atlanta, I'd stay here. As long as breakfast and paid Internet isn't a deal breaker for you.

I stayed at the Doubletree Hotel during my recent trip to Atlanta. I stayed in a King Room that has a separate living room(including a pull out bed in the couch). The room was spacious and had a Jack & Jill bathroom set-up between the master bedroom and the living room.

The bathroom was spacious and pretty luxurious. They had a mini refrigerator that could store your left overs or any drinks that you needed to keep cold. The temperature controls worked really well and the bed was comfortable.

I found this place while surfing the internet and calling hotels.com to follow up with additional questions. I was going to stay at another hotel but they charged for parking. The parking for the Doubletree was part of the hotel price for $88 a night.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The location is good, easy access to major freeways. Close to lots of food and a target. The service and rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was good, room service friendly and timely. The gym was nice.

Beaware, the hotel has a courtyard set up similar to Embassy suites...there is a bar in the middle and laughing and yelling hotel guests can be heard until they go to bed. There was an extremely loud group during my stay and I could hear their entire drunken conversations until the bar closed...multiple nights. I work early mornings as many professionals and this distrubance is not something I can chance, so I will not stay here again.  (No fault of employees,  jist the hotel setup)

I'm a Hilton Honors Gold Member and I travel quite a bit.  I stay at DoubleTree branded hotels fairly often and this location appears to be set up like an Embassy Suites location.  The good:  Spacious suite, location to one of my company offices, friendly hotel staff (front desk, driver, and breakfast servers), the delicious welcome cookie  The no so great:  noticed the furniture in my room had quite a few stains, general area around the hotel is not so great IMO - (had a transient knocking on my car window for money on the main cross-street), and the restaurants near appeared to be chain or lower budget.  I'll most likely be back as it's close to my company office and the price was reasonable.

The hotel definitely shows its age; tubs are missing parts, I had to repair our shower handle to be able to adjust the water temp, walls and carpets have stains and rust and drag marks, and our closet door is stuck open. If you have a room with a balcony, be prepared for noise all night whether it's the barflies (until 1am) or the staff or other hotel guests at all hours. The sound carries since it's an open courtyard. The furniture (couch with pull out, arm chair, bed) is definitely dated and uncomfortable (bed is too soft and pillows are nearly non-existent once you put your head on them). That all being said, the hotel is not bad for the price. The temp controls work well, the curtains block out light well whether from outside or inside, the staff (for the most part) are lovely to talk with and make sure you're taken care of, and the breakfast buffet is convenient and the price isn't too bad considering (around &13/person including fruit, yogurt, pastries, eggs, French toast, bacon, waffles, and cereal).

Stayed here recently during a weekend trip around Georgia. For $115 I got a beautiful suite at this wonderful hotel. I should also mention that we managed to score a few extra chocolate chip cookies by chatting up the concierge.

The hotel is conveniently located near Atlanta, GA (but just outside of the city, so you get better pricing and less noise). Although I didn't get to try it, I did notice that the hotel is also located right behind an Indian restaurant, which is my favorite thing ever.

The interior of the hotel is very unique -- with rooms that have balconies that peer over the inner lobby/courtyard. We didn't get a room with an interior balcony, but that's probably for the best. On Saturday morning, for $15 per person, we had the breakfast buffet, which was REALLY something. Definitely worth the money. The server was very polite and was working very hard to accommodate everyone.

I do plan a return trip back to GA by next year, and I will likely make a return to this hotel when I do. Highly recommended.

The only knock against the hotel I have is that the Wi-Fi isn't free... at least I don't think it is. You have to sign up to become a member to access it.
