I've done a lot of business travel in the past and stayed at some pretty swanky places.  I was pleasantly surprised to say this Holiday Inn ranks up there with nice rooms.  Big TV, fridge, pool, marble bath.  Plus a really nice breakfast included (much better than the usual hotel free breakfast).  Super sweet caring staff, particularly the wait staff at breakfast.  Fitness room was decent too.  All at an awesome price.

Perhaps after reading all the great reviews I was expecting much more? Yes the hotel has been renovated and they did a very good job with it compared to a lot of other hotels that have gone through renovations. But for me it still felt uncomfortable. It was dark and moist in the air. Very humid and I don't know if that was what kept me up til 4am in the morning. You can tell the ceilings were very old. It was that 1970's popcorn ceiling and they just painted over it with some white paint that was already cracking. They didn't update the doors nor the light switches which they seem to neglect cleaning. They were yellowing and sticky. The elevators were extremely slow so I took the stairs and they did not update the stairwells at all. It was old and scary and had this really bad old moldy stench. Other than that the staff was very welcoming and I didn't have a problem with the service. I would stay there again if I didn't have another choice. But I couldn't wait to get out of there because of the weird, moist air.

I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful the staff of the Atlanta Northlake Holiday Inn! Our guests were overjoyed at the rooms (VERY nicely updated!) and loved the full breakfast that was included. The staff made sure any slight problems were handled right away and were a pleasure to deal with.

After our wedding, the party moved to the hotel's pool area where family and friends lingered well past the posted closing time. Thankfully they were respectful of the other guests and I'm so pleased that the staff allowed  them this extra time together.

A special note about the waitress at breakfast: She took especially good care of my new family by fixing sweet tea for my sister in law, even though it is not normally served at breakfast. VERY nice and kind of her. My husband and I were able to join the group on Mother's Day morning and were welcomed warmly as well.

Thanks to Kennlynn and the gang for the PERFECT home base for our wedding guests!

Actually, this review should read 2 1/2 stars, but that's not an option, so oh well.

I booked my room a month in advance. Excellent rates; nice, clean room. The staff was very friendly. For that, this should have been a 4-star rating. But...

On Saturday afternoon, I called for extra towels. And waited. And waited. I called again. And waited some more. Almost an hour after my initial call, I went over to the front desk to ask for some towels. The front desk guy had to go into the housekeeping room to get them. He apologized, saying that the hotel had "run out of towels." What? What type of hotel runs out of towels?

Then, Sunday morning, we were rudely awakened by church services going on across the hall. First of all, I hate ground-level rooms: too much foot traffic and noise outside the door. But church? Complete with drummer, band, and shouting minister. I called to inquire why I was placed on that floor when they knew that church was going on, and they apologized and comped my room for the day. Cool beans.

But then, my partner and I returned from our afternoon activities to find that our room was not cleaned. We went to the front desk to complain, and housekeeping tried to lie and say they did clean it. Um, no? We were beyond fed up when we saw them go into the room only with new towels and linen. No, no cleaning that day.

So, I gave them 2 1/2 stars only because they resolved my Sunday fiasco.

Rarely will I review a hotel and then only if it is stellar or unique in some way shape or form and Holiday Inn Northlake was Excellent! Great Service, Comfort, Convenience, and Price! Of course everyone pays a different rate for their hotel rooms, I got a group rate when I stayed and it was 25% less than a Benjamin just to give you an idea of how low they can go. Each room has a huge Flat Screen TV, Sofa (or Chair), desk, Wi-Fi, DVD, microwave and Fridge. Every morning you are treated to a real fresh made breakfast buffet which includes some of the best damn grits and waffles I have ever eaten with great table service and it was all included for free -Really!  Also a Happy Hour around 5, but you know Georgia, no drink discounts only free snack food offerings but they do have a full on bar that can serve up a pretty darn good martini, and fairly cheap too. I think in order to be called Holiday Inn they have to have a pool, and this one definitely does have a great outdoor pool.
It's also conveniently located to I-285 and I walked over to N'Lake Mall Macy's and a liquor store across the way, totally sweet. A Brew-Pub Movie Theater is also across LaVista in the Festival Mall. It seems odd to be writing a review of a Holiday Inn but I just had to Yelp this place because it was really great and I want to pass that along to someone in need of an honest review looking for an honest to goodness good hotel to spend the night at.

WOW! Great price, clean, FREE Wifi, full breakfast for $9.95, great service, comfortable bed, flat screen, restaurant, large room, modern decor and to top it off the hotel is located close to a mall and Starbucks!

They also have a pool and business center where you can use their computers and print stuff for free!  I would highly recommend this hotel!

Horrible Hotel!!! Heater not working in the room. Nasty stains on the carpet and dirty beddings.

Nice place to stay at for the night though a bit overpriced.  Well, the room that I got was overpriced since it was one of the last rooms available on a Friday night.  I always enjoy my stays at Holiday Inn Hotels because of the level of comfort each room provides, the pool and hot tub, and the breakfast.

If I were to travel back to Atlanta, I would definitely stay here again.

Hubby got a great deal online to celebrate our 1-yr anniversary. I know its not the Ritz, but it's a day away from our everyday stuff and we lounged around and just chilled out so I was ecstatic.  The room we were given was very spacious, with a comfortable armchair and bed.
I think that they must have recently remodeled, since everything was in really really great shape (from the hall carpet to the rooms' furnishings).

The only bad things I can think of were:

-obvious water damage in our bathroom (the whole floor was tilted which made keeping the shower curtain properly in and aligned on the pole difficult, the wall was poorly patched up and the towel rack was hanging on for dear life by one screw).
- elevator took forever to move and made a very weird, scary sound
- front desk grilled me over our "complimentary breakfast" in front of other customer even though it stated that it was included with our reservation and even going so far as to ask me to bring down the paper print out; which she copied and gave back.

The hotel was pretty quiet to outside noise, even though it is right off a main hwy and next to a mall. However, you could hear the elevator and doors in the hallway slamming shut every so often.

Outside feels very resort like. The inside, not so much. My room carpet was tattered and torn. Ita an old hotel thats been reno'ed. Free breakfast and WiFi and quiet = 3 stars. And location! Convenient

Lets see where to start... My truck got broken into and the kids clothes stolen (not sure why they wanted these). This despite being parked near the entrance in a lighted area with security cameras. The entire area was a little shady. The hotel is undergoing a renovation, but this wasn't disclosed when I reserved. The windows leak something awful and the door does not quite sit flush to the room so it took a minimum of 4 scans for the lock to work itself open. Poor quality from my viewpoint.  I though holiday inn would be comparable to other mid-priced chains I typically stay in. I was wrong!!

What a wonderful hotel. It is a five star in the Holiday inn chain. I stay at many holiday inns and this place is top notch. lovely large elegant room, exquisite details on maintenance. Everything woks well, great hot water, nice granite, lots of pillows, huge flat tv, nice speed internet, well these are the things I like and this place has them all.
oh yes and a big bug a boo for me is they have lots of plugs - even bedside - and they are for my use (not the hotel as in some other HI Properties). These plugs make life in the electronic age so much easier. Thank YOU

Check-In and out were hassle free. On-Duty Manager Lenord, great job! Very pleasant attendant at the desk during my check out as well. I wish that I could have gotten her name... Very nice! I cannot say the same about the Property Manager Princess (I believe that is her postion), bad attitude! She might need to undergo extensive training on customer service because apparently she has forgotten what it entails. Three stars as a result of the very unfriendly and rude administrative staff person.  Good thing that her spirit didn't trickle down to the staff.

I stayed here on my way over to Gainesville, Florida. I was surprised that we got such a great deal in Atlanta, but I can see why as staying in a box for free is a better deal.

The hotel was recently renovated so we expected it to be much better than it really is. This place is a POS. there dead bugs on the wall which housecleaning just kills and doesn't clean up. The room doors don't open easily as you have to keep trying and banging on the door to try it get it open. It takes at least 10 attempts.

The gentleman that was there in the evening however did an amazing job helping us by testing out new rooms for us than sending us on a wild goose chase and keep coming back to him with complaints. He worked hard to help us and keep us happy, he deserves 5 stars but this hotel doesn't. The two women that were here in the morning aren't too bright and ride. They should be FIRED as they not only smile, but seem to enjoy telling us things we don't want to hear after our bad experience here. They do not seem to know much about hospitality and ignore guests until we really try to get their attention and then they're pissed we interrupted their discussion..

The renovations are horrible, the guy had told us this when I complain about the door and explain how a 3rd party they never used before did them. He even tried to find me a room that wasn't renovated but apparently they all were.

Holiday Inn - make the guy a manager, fire the girls, redo your renovations and maybe you'll have more than 2-3 guests staying here a night and maybe some repeat customers. Free advice from some holiday travelers who want to have a good time with our families.

Even though breakfast was $6/person and under 12 is free, it was pretty good.

This place was ok.... It wasn't advertised that there was major remodeling work being done. So there wasn't a lobby, bar or front desk. We had to both enter and park in the very back. For the price we paid it wasn't very good ($111.00 a night)
bathroom is VERY small and there was running paint down the bathroom door as well.
Towels were very dirty and I found a hair that wasn't mine on them.

Theres no negative stars to give for this place. The staff were friendly and understanding though.

They have some remodeling going on but are still giving out rooms. The room we got was unfinished. The bathroom faucets were dangling. The AC unit made a lot of noise and we weren't able to sleep a wink. Surprisingly their website did not mention a word about the construction going on at the hotel.

We complained at the front desk at 2am, and she was quite understanding to roll back the charge.

Guess i learnt a lesson to check for construction/remodeling before booking hotels.
