I stayed at this hotel for two months straight when this was a W property a few years ago.  Coming back to the area for another project I saw it had recently reopened as a renovated Le Meridien and since I knew the area and liked the original W I thought I'd give it a shot.  While I understand there is plenty of work in a renovation, this has been the worst SPG experience I've ever had.  Food is terrible and highly overpriced, room service is the worst quality food I've ever had.  The gym has one universal machine,  and is very cramped in a tiny room.  The gym was a constant parade of problems, no AC and lights/equipment/tvs were flat out broken, and stayed broken after three weeks of repeatedly informing the front desk.

In the rooms the bedding is much lower quality than the standard Starwood heavenly bed, the high-sitting desk area (feels more like a bar) is not conducive to working, outlets are not easy to get to other than on the nightstand and they repeatedly messed up the "keep it green" requests and cleared my room daily.  My colleague on the project had daily issues with them checking him out every day on multiple reservations.  He gave up and left after the 2nd week of administrative headaches with them. I didn't want the longer drive but after no improvements and dismissiveness about the issues I'll be looking for a different hotel on my next trip here.  The club is nice but most people won't have access to that and the parking lot was overfilled almost every night.  There are other SPG properties in the area and I'd strongly recommend checking them first.  Hopefully this LM will clean up and get on par once all renovations are done but that seems like a long ways off still.

from the moment of the arrival here, we could tell that this was a 'swanky' hotel..  it was upscale, in an upscale neighborhood..  retro/50's-70's decor, easy check-in, excellent room, bed, bathroom, etc..  loved the showerhead, it's one of those 'rain' showerheads..  very nice..  the coffeemaker/espresso maker was nice, very high-tech, and made good coffee..  on that note, we left a note for housekeeping to leave an additional robe and extra coffee accessories and they were provided..!!  props to the housekeeping staff..!!  can't advise on the food, bar service, or breakfast, as we didn't have any of that..  i did need a working remote late (11.30pm) at nite and the front desk/security promptly brought me a new one.. there are plenty of good restaurants around, a large mall, and several upscale salons, bars, stores, and streets easy to navigate.. stay was quiet, we slept well, and had an excellent stay..

a tip; ** 400 is a toll road **  to go around this, take hwy 19, which runs parallel to it or take 85 into town..  i knew this already, but for someone new to the area, it's a helpful tip, i think..  we will definitely stay here again..

i will admit i only spend one night here, arriving late. but the welcome was great. nice friendly staff at the front desk that got me to my room quickly (all i cared about at 11pm). The room was great. got an upgrade to a suite so had a nice big table for work in the morning. bed was great. breakfast in the club lounge was also really good. much better selection than in other SPG club lounges. and on top of that what really made my morning was the illy expresso maker in the room.
oh and internet was also pretty fast

now don't get me wrong, this is not the hotel you want to stay in if you are in Atlanta for vacation (unless you have family close by). this is a hotel you will likely only stay if you are here for work and have meeting close by. and from that perspective it is a great place. it has everything i needed during a business trip, was very quiet. but for a vacation trip to Atalanta i would definitely pick one of the downtown hotels.

If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Don't book an event here.  I had a conference room under contract a couple of months ahead of time.  They moved my event WITHOUT my permission less than 3 weeks prior to it.  They refused to give me any compensation and were rude.  I'm very unhappy to say the least.

They were very unprofessional about it.  I host about 60 conferences a year and I've never had a location pull out of a space rental.  They didn't give us an option and we had to waste our time and resources calling all the people that already paid y attend our event there and tell them about the changed location.

I'm planning on doing an interview about this, apparently they overlooked the fact that we teach filmmaking including to a lot of media professionals.  Only hold your event here if you're comfortable having them cancel your event on short notice (despite being under contract) and want to deal with rude ghetto sounding staff.

Very nice hotel for the price. Clean, spacious and modern. It reminds me like the W hotel. Very nice restaurants in the immediate trade area. I recommend staying here.

Great value for the money!   Beautiful property - with spacious, nicely decorated rooms.   Friendly staff... and good internet connectivity.    (Still feels like a 'W' property to me...).  Will definitely return on future visits.

I am automotive media guy, and our organization, GAAMA, has had some meetings at this hotel.
The previous meetings went pretty smooth. The recent one was too, except one glitch.
The maintenance guy, operating a leaf blower, decided to ruin the video presentation of the new 2014 Acura MDX.
The representative from Acura has been doing an outstanding presentation until the maintenance guy saw what were were doing and decided to add some unwanted soundtrack (check "2014 Acura MDX overview versus... a leaf blower" on YouTube).
The person from Acura was visibly upset (you can hear it in his voice), and I had a choice to cut an important piece of the video, or to delete it altogether.
I decided to upload the whole thing and share it with Le Meridien's Facebook.
I thought the management needs to see for themselves.
This is where bad got to worse - the video link was promptly deleted.
I am afraid this bad attitude will cost Le Meridien not just a private costumer, but the whole organization.
GAAMA has had events throughout Atlanta and nothing like that has ever happened in other locations.

Just returned from a trip to Atlanta which included a stay at the Le Meridien.  Our stay here was nothing short of fantastic.  Having just been through a top to bottom renovation and rebranding as Le Meridien, everything here is brand spanking new and very, very nice.  The bed in this place was probably the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on!  We have come to expect great service from Starwood properties, and this place did not disappoint.  From the front desk staff to the service at the bar, everyone was extremely friendly and engaging.  The only thing that wasn't up and running yet was the restaurant, as it was still under construction.  They did, however, offer a full menu at the bar and seating areas in the lobby.  The club lounge was very well appointed, with plenty of seating, access to computers (with printing capabilities), and a nicely stocked supply of refreshments.  The lounge also provides breakfast in the morning as well as a "social hour" spread of various cheeses, fresh vegetables, and some really delicious shrimp spring rolls in the evening.  I highly recommend booking a room on the club floor if possible so you can take advantage of the lounge.

From beginning to end it was a great experience, and we look forward to staying here again the next time we are in the area.  Highly recommended!

I took great care in finding the perfect hotel for a recent getaway with my boyfriend this past weekend. We have both stayed in countless Starwood hotels but never a Le Meridien property so I was very excited to see that a new one had opened in Atlanta. I also author a lifestyle blog and was looking forward to sharing my experience with my readers. Unfortunately, I don't have as many positives to share as I was hoping for.

Check-in: The front desk girl was friendly but did not want to accommodate my request for a higher room. On my reservation, I requested a room on a high floor, and away from the elevator. She first offered a 3rd floor suite which I asked her to change. We then were placed in a 5th floor suite, right next to the elevator and overlooking a parking lot! Not good enough especially when I later learned that the hotel was only at 40% occupancy for the weekend.

The Suite: The bedroom and living room were VERY spacious. We enjoyed the extra room however the bathroom was ridiculously small and cramped. The water pressure was acceptable however the A/C unit in our room sounded like it was going to blow every time we adjusted the temperature. It literally sounded like a car was rattling around in our room which made it very difficult to sleep. The bed was a bit too stiff for my liking.

Portico Global Cuisine : We visited the hotel restaurant on the first evening and overall we enjoyed the experience. We basically had the place to ourselves with the exception of one other couple. Service was slow but friendly. The food was tasty.

The Pool: Small and personal. The cabanas are free (first come, first serve). I only wished it stayed open later (closes at 10PM).

Customer Service: With the exception of the front desk clerk and the server at Portico, none of the employees greeted us. Not even a smile in passing.

Location: LOVED the Dunwoody area. It's tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown & Buckhead. Perimeter Mall is right across the street. Lots of great dining and shopping within a 1-mile radius.

Parking: There is no covered parking. The lots are small and the spaces were extremely tight. Valet parking is also available.

WI-FI: Be prepared for the whopping $12.95 cost for internet access. It's free in the lobby but I work for a Government Contractor and needed some privacy. We felt that this cost was exorbitant.

Le Meridien was not horrible experience but I've experienced much better in Atlanta and for that reason (along with the outrageous WI-FI charge), I wouldn't stay here again.

This is a hidden jewel. It is very beautiful on the outside and inside. This hotel is a bargain! The lobby and bar areas are very stylish. The super modern suites were absolutely huge, basically 2 rooms for the price of one. The sitting area had a large desk and separate bar area as well a large lounging area. The bedroom was just as spacious with very comfortable beds and super soft sheets.. The closet and bathroom seemed small for such a large room, and the bathroom finishes were lower end compared to the rest of the décor. The service at reception and the bar and concierge lounge was outstanding, so friendly and accommodating. The pool was a nice bonus with pretty landscaping, comfortable chaises and cabanas.

The entire stay from check in to check out to the bell mans everyone and everything was just perfect . No one had an attitude, and everyone had a smile on their face . My husband and I have recently worked for the hotel industry so I know what to expect and I could definitely say we left completely pleased from our stay. TIP: the shuttle goes three miles from the hotel, includes a lot but if there's an area out of that distance that you want to get to you can have the shuttle drop you off at the Marta stop (train station) and that'll get you anywhere .

Whoever is managing this place is doing a horrible job with guest accommodations.  My friends booked a room for a birthday party. They promised a top floor at the time of reservation but gave them a room on the third floor. It's a birthday party so of course there are going to be guests, drinking, and mingling. It was barely 11 pm when hotel sends security 3 times to quiet us down rather than finding a more workable alternatives (ie. moving us to a different room with empty rooms adjoining so that people won't complain of noise), the security kicked us out of our own room, escorted everyone out and moved us to the lobby lounge area and said "you guys stay in this corner". What are we, a bunch of high school kids?

I liked the modern decor of this place and totally would have recommended people to stay here when they are visiting from out of town.  But because they know jack shit about guest accommodations and embarrassed the birthday boy and 20 other guests by involving hotel security and escorting us out of the room like we were a bunch of under-aged kids, I would never stay here or recommend this place. I was so offended that I left the party.

If you are 60 years old and would like to be in bed by 8 pm, this hotel would be perfect for you because they don't allow any type of noise from their rooms.  If you do, the hotel security will be at your door (again and again and again) and will eventually escort you out to the lobby bar and tell you to shut the hell up and sit in the corner. What a crock of shit! That European management style sure will not work in the States.

Horrible. No maid service from fri til we were asked at 6:30 Sunday night. Towels were thrown on the sink and not folded. We had to make a separate reservation for Mon night for a rate change and were assured it would be seamless. Not true. It took two trips to the desk for them to get the keys straight. The room is so poorly lit you can barely read...forget makeup...the bathroom isn't much better. A hamburger, coke and cookies room service was $34.00. $12.95  per day for internet.  There are better hotels in the area. Don't waste your money on this one

I stayed here for three nights over Independence Day weekend. All the construction appears to be finished and the new restaurant Portico was open. We had a great dinner there and were nearly the only couple in the restaurant; I think they were still in a soft opening as there wasn't even a sign up.

The club lounge is spacious, nicely furnished, and stocked with free drinks at all times. The club lounge breakfast and happy hour snacks were basic but the lounge staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.

Also great: free parking, good and fast room service, and very very fast wi-fi. Everything in the hotel is new and in good condition; the styling is modern, similar to a W.

Rates are much lower over the weekend and are a very good value.

I chose this hotel because of its cool and modern decor and because it was advertised as a non smoking facility.

The room was great but very close to the elevator. This was cool until Saturday night when a group of youngsters thought it was appropriate to hang out in this area to party and argue. I had to call security 4 times and got little sleep that night.

Another incident happened at the pool, where no non-smoking sings were visible. A guest, who sat upwind from me, decided to light a cigar and insisted he was allowed to smoke there. Hotel management should make the non-smoking policy more obvious.

renovated starwood "W' hotel that never did well due to its business location.  Le Meridien recently re-opened and has become my new favorite place to stay when I am in the area.  rooms are new, fresh and inviting with lots of work space, plugs and big flat screen TVs.

I especially love the curtains which block out just about all the light and the very comfortable 'dream' beds.  Bathrooms can be a bit small but they are very well appointed and everyone I have stayed in has a nice new walk-in/stand-up shower with glass doors.

I've stayed on multiple trips and keep going back.

Just checked out.. Water was brown in sink, and shower. I went down to front desk and asked to speak to the manager, who was in a meeting. After explaining the situation to the front desk they gave me a 2 second feeble sorry and moved on.  Very disappointing.

The steamed mussels with merguez lamb sausage is served with grilled baguette slices to dip into that luscious saffron tomato broth, oh mamma!  The free range chicken breast served over cassoulet of market vegetables, roast chicken jus, and grilled lemon, was hi-lighted by squeezing the lemon over the chicken, sending it over the top! Executive Chef Fabien is serving mighty tasty dishes, with great service, wine list, whats not to love!

This used to be the old "W" whichnive frequented a time or two but ultimately stayed elsewhere inside the loop either in Buckhead or midtown.

However, Le Meridien is NOT the old W... not in the least.   Well...don't get me wrong, it still does have a Restoration hardware thing going on... But maybe less kitschy. Overall,  it's chic, clean and thoughtful enough to actually make the walk from the lobby to the elevator interesting ; there's a small art gallery along the way.

The rooms are spacious... seriously.  Suite space (about 800sq ft) at regular room rates with two kings, if you like.  The rooms have large flat screen which are great for game-planning if you're on business.   On the weekends, there's no fee for parking which is a plus when the entire team decides to drive.

Also Portico, the restaurant/bar isn't bad at all.  I managed to squeeze in an omelette and fennel chicken sausage breakfast before an early am meeting.   To the downside, it can be a bit too quiet at the bar as the sun goes down.  I'm a part time barfly when the tie comes off so I really enjoy a vibrant or at least talkative bar scene before stepping out.

Unfortunately, this is something Le Meridien will have to work on... But it's about the only thing.

There's lots to like here with little to complain about.   Downtown, Midtown, and buckhead are all cool but unless you're swinging for the Mandarin or the Four Seasons... your best bang for the buck is here.

Great modern hotel, great bed and romantic setting in the lobby. Spent Valentine's Day there & had a great time. Directly across from Perimeter Mall which is another great perk about the hotel. The outside lounge area is very nice, and I will be back in the summer to experience it

Would go 3 1/2 if I could. Hotel is solid, and if your business is in the area, a great choice. If not, the location is next to Perimeter Mall if that's your thing. But there are hundreds of other choices in the ATL. service was just non existent, and the parking situation for this level hotel is pitiful. Bottom line this is a business hotel. Period. Get in and get out.

After six weeks at the Le Med, I am seriously considering buying one of these beds for my apartment at home. They really are THAT comfortable.

Overall, this is a pretty great place to stay.

The rooms, especially if you are an SPG member, are simply massive. I'm really not sure what I'd ever do with all that space, but I definitely tried my best. Many of the rooms are easily as big as my San Francisco apartment, which speaks as much about my sad state of housing market in SF than it does about the hotel I suppose. But regardless, - big rooms, lots of space for activities.

My qualms are few and far between:

-The gym may be a little on the small side, especially considering that it gets pretty consistent and heavy usage in the mornings from its guests. But it's at least semi-decent.

-Their late night menu doesn't have french fries (I'm a sucker for fries I can't lie)

-$10/day for parking (just like everyone in Atlanta, unfortunately)

With complaints like that, you know the hotel can't be too bad. Book a room here and be at ease that your stay will be very comfortable (at worst) or perhaps even truly magical (at best).

I stay at hotels all the time, and am a loyal SPG member, and this may be the nicest one that I've stayed at all year. I was lucky enough to get upgraded to a club suite, which was super nice. It was bigger than most apartments in SF.

I loved the decor here, it was clean, modern, and tasteful - almost like a CB2 / West Elm look. The living room was huge, and ample lighting and plugs around the bed / room.  The bed was comfortable and soft, and the linens smelled nicer than usual.

The bathroom was nice but the metal sink was a little bit odd and it felt like I was brushing my teeth in my kitchen sink.

I wish I could take all the furnishings of the hotel and transport it back into my house. I thought the lobby and bar downstairs were well decorated too.

Parking is $10 (self-park) and $15 for valet. I paid roughly $200 a night for the hotel, which wasn't too bad.

I'll be back here next time I'm in Atlanta. I much prefer this to the Westin and W hotels.

This is quickly becoming my favorite place to stay when I come to Atlanta.

Unlike the other Starwood properties where I stay that mandate valet parking or have a very height-challenged parking garage (Buckhead), this hotel is easy to park and get in and out of.

The rooms are always immaculate, the food is as good as anywhere, and the gyms are always clean and quiet.

The staff here is always amazing, and I always hope that Angel is working. She is always very welcoming and absolutely has the greatest personality in the hospitality industry.
