The hotel seems to have gone downhill - service was awful on our last visit and the place was empty. So sad. It really was such a wonderful hotel a couple of years ago before the economy crashed. We last went for The Birds movie night and with high expectations as it was marketed very well and sounded really fun, but we ended up very disappointed. The staff was not attentive and didn't care about the guests at all - we saw this happening all around us when there. We tried to give it another go but no luck - you'll see us at The St. Regis bar instead. The Dallas Mansion at Turtle Creek is still A+++.

I can only comment on their bar. Really beautiful place. Service was exceptional and the decor was modern and smelled incredibly new. The bartender James was great and friendly and the cocktail waitress was beautiful and very sweet as well. Of course I was most impressed by the fact that they had Fernet, a new bottle at that. Had a great time. Would go back. But this is where the very rich hang out. Not your neighborhood spot. Unless you got it like that or know someone who does.

Impeccable 5 star hotel towering above the busy hustle and bustle of Peachtree Road in Buckhead. My husband took me here in January for a birthday night to remember. As soon as we pulled up we were treated like royalty. At the check-in desk the first thing that was spoken to me was "Happy Birthday Mrs. Newman". The rooms are spacious and completely luxurious from head to toe. All I can say is "WOW" about the bathrooms. Huge soaking tub in front of a flat screen tv, double vanities, and a stand up shower big enough for two. Waiting on the console table in the room was a rich, and oh so good, chocolate mousse dessert with two spoons and a piece of chocolate with the words 'Happy Birthday' written on it. These special touches just made the overall experience that much more amazing. The service is nothing short from perfect in every way. Great lap pool downstairs that my swimmer husband took full advantage of. We also enjoyed wine after dinner at the lavishly decorated bar right off the lobby. Next time, and there will be a next time, we are going to have to get treatments at the spa.

Incredible experience and we were overwhelmed with excellence in everything. I regret not taking more time to write everyone's name down to thank them personally. My wife and I live in town and try to get away now and then when the opportunity presents itself. This place will make me start looking harder for those opportunities. Certainly a treat and a value in my opinion.

Went a couple weeks ago and was not impressed at all.

Started with the Buffalo Mozzarella Caprice and it was just okay.  Nothing better than anything you can get at a mid range decent Italian restaurant.  

Next was a soup, the tomato basil.  It was okay, very smoth but not as tasty as many I've had at much cheeper places.  The $3 tomato basil at La Madeline is much better than the $15 at the mansion.

Mushroom Risotto was next.  It was good, probably the highlight of the meal.  

I finished with the Tuna and pine nuts.  It sounded great on the menu but I don't know...it was a little bland and really just nothing special.

The Tiramisu desert was wonderful, but the coffee was not.

The restaurant has a nice wine list but the waiter didn't offer any suggestions and seemed very uninformed.  

The restaurant decor was old South charm. Very much what you would expect from a restaurant called 'The Mansion on Peachtree".

By the time we were finished we spent $300+ dollars on a meal for two and I couldn't help thinking a restaurant like Carrabba's would have been 1/3 of the cost and three times as delicious.

I had high hopes for the mansion and was utterly disappointed.  I will likely not return.  Fine dining it is, but tasty dining it is not...

Fabulous place for a wonderful weekend getaway. Classy place but not pretentious or stuffy...very comfortable! Would definitely recommend to friends! The spa is lovely...you should get a treatment! Everyone is just so friendly and accommodating. I will be back.

I loved the food! Although the restaurant in my opinion was weirdly set up, i did have a beautiful view of the garden.  i was there I had the expresso lamb and some other stuff. The chef sends you different things to try out and thats right up my alley. It's definitely a more upscale place. Sorry for not reviewing the hotel, on my phone at the moment.

I only visited the bar/lounge area for some network event. The drinks were a bit pricey but the service made up for it. Everyone was so nice. They didn't have that condescending tone that you normally encounter when you visit these pretentious over-priced places in Buckhead (and beyond). They also had little snacks that you can munch on while you sip your wine.

As you drive in, you immediately know you are in for a treat. There's this courtyard thingy outside, very nice enclosed space. Then the valets greet you so nicely and to top it off, it's complimentary (take that, W Buckhead!) and done with a smile. They open the doors for you, very nice service all the way. The hall way leading up to the bar is very chic. Their interior decorator deserved his/her paycheck. The bathrooms were also to die for. Makes you want to sit in a little longer.

I will try to come back as much as me and my wallet can. I just love places like this, makes you feel like you've taken a trip, like a mini-vacation.

This is write up for the bar/lounge of the hotel.  When you first pull up into the hotel, you know you are in for an experience..  The building is absolutely stunning.  As soon as you pull up, you are greeted by very friendly valet (which may I add is complimentary which is rare these days at hotels).

As stated in reviews before, the bar is a little tricky to find once you get inside, but it is somewhere where you don't mind getting lost for a second and seeing all the decor and feel of this full service butler hotel.

As we made our way to the bar, it wasn't all stuffy with corporate up types as I thought it would be.  It was a very sexy, mellow crowd.  Plenty of comfortable seating and great ambiance lighting...

Of course I wanted to go right to the patio area which is amazing with a soaring high ceiling and gas lit lantern lights above...

The drinks were great, but not for the tight in the wallet types, they are not cheap...  The service was great.  No uptight servers who act like they own the place and not work there twhich you find alot at high end establishments.  Our server made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us regularly.  No looking around wondering when she was coming back.

I think this is a great place to go with friends for drinks or to take that special someone.  This place that is still a hidden gem and not overflowing with people and giving you a great ambiance and experience.

Now if I could only purchase one of the $9 million dollar condos that sit atop the hotel so I could just have my drinks and go upstairs home...  Well, at least I can enjoy the bar and drinks for now.....

This place is amazing! I had a body wrap and my mom & sister each got facials. It was pricey - $100+ for each treatment - but definitely worth it. Well, next time I'm going with something else like a facial or massage. But the place itself is fantastic.

Stayed here for the Thanksgiving Holiday and LOVED IT!!!
This is an elegant hotel that pays attention to detail from the minute you pull up the valet/bell service is very attentive.  The rooms are comfy and spacious  with very comfortable beds and top notch linens.
You have a butler (or many) that take good care of you (ask for the ginger snap cookies), a beautiful spa, heated pool, nice gym, beautiful garden, and the BEST bartender BOJAN in their lounge/piano area.
The NEO restaurant is also top notch for breakfast, lunch or and dinner!
Bathrooms are almost as large as the rooms with a deep tub and separate large shower that could accommodate 2-3 people comfortable.
The decor is art deco- very elegant!  
Whether you are seeking a decadent hotel, a nice place for a drink or a romantic spot for a date- The Mansion is the perfect place!

*** a couple bonus's CRAFT is opening 500 feet away.  Saks (east) Neimens (west) and Borders Books (south) all across the street.

Simply wonderful. I booked The Mansion in preparation for proposing to my girlfriend. After booking, I received an email from the concierge congratulating me on my plans and asking was there anything they could do to assist. From the valet to the doorman to checking in, everything was ABOVE par. The room was amazing. I'm not a huge bathroom fan but the spacious layout even made me take notice. After I popped the question (she said yes!), we had drinks at the downstairs lounge which had live music playing. You could tell people not staying at the hotel came in to check out the lounge. Breakfast at the restaurant the next morning was delicious. Upon checkout, the front desk checked with me to find out the answer. The excellent customer service displayed during my visit showed The Mansion was committed to setting themselves above other hotels.

Southern hospitality, how do I love thee. As a Californian and frequent traveler I have come to expect very little in terms of customer service - regardless of how expensive a hotel might be. But, staying at the Mansion on Peachtree has restored my faith in the hospitality industry. From the valet, to front desk to wait staff everyone here was helpful, kind and genuine. I stayed in a double queen room with a friend and it was classic and modern, had amazing linens and a luxurious bathroom with marble finishes and a flat screen TV. The location of the hotel is prime - across the street from Lenox Square and I could see Saks from the window in our room. I would have loved to have stayed at the Mansion longer to take advantage of their spa amenities. I guess I'll have to plan another trip to Atlanta soon!

This is my 3rd time coming to Atlanta and this is by far the best hotel i have been in. its only our third night here but My babe and i are enjoying every second here. The Customer service is amazing. They are very attentive and very nice. We had a lovely tour of the hotel along with what our room had to offer. Everything was basically done with a push of a button. Felt very spoiled. i will definitely come back. Southern hospitality is the best.

I absolutely love this place.  I have stayed here a few times on business and it has quickly become the only place I want to stay in ATL.  I love the people at the front desk. I love the smell of fire as you walk in. I love the cozy bar. I love that Craft is right across the drive. I love that the concierge will drive you anywhere you want to go and is such a nice guy. I really love the way they have decorated the place - all the fixtures and beautiful flowers that are not overdone.  The rooms are comfortable - the bedding is amazing and the service is outstanding. I mean in room dining called to tell me my breakfast order was going to be 7 minutes late.  This place is great!!

Also - added star for service because while I was checking in they learned it was my birthday and they sent a wonderful little chocolate thing with a handwritten note wishing me a happy birthday.  All because the girl at the desk heard someone wish me a happy birthday. In my book - that is service and for someone who travels as much as I do, it makes all the difference.

The rates are not inexpensive but they have great deals on the weekend so check it out. They do have a spa that is beautiful. I didn't get a treatment but the place is just beautiful. The Mansion would be a wonderful little weekend escape for someone in the ATL area with maybe something to celebrate.  It is also in Buckhead and there are tons of restaurants in the area and really nice shopping right down the street.  

Have I said how much I love this place!!!

Several times a year my wife and I just 'get away' from our suburban household.  Ya know - leave the bills, the pets, the EVERYTHING behind and just for an evening, forget that any of it exists.  Reality - we don't want it.

For several years, our 'go to' hotel in Atlanta had been the Westin on Peachtree: usually a cheap price; love the "heavenly" collection that Westin puts out; great views from higher up.  This hotel has forever knocked the Westin out of the running.  They -- they don't compare.  

Trying to pick a place for our anniversary and just getting a little tired of the Westin, I stumbled upon The Mansion and made a reservation through their website.  When my wife and I got to the hotel I was reminded of some of the nicer places I've stayed on business trips.  I thought, "That's right.  This is what nice hotels in OTHER cities look like."  I had no idea that Atlanta had a hotel that met the luxury of the bigger cities for the price tag of the small one.

This place gets top marks from me in all categories...

Service: when we checked in we were asked if it was for a special occasion, my wife let them know that yes, it was our anniversary.  When we returned from dinner our room had been turned down.  On the nightstand was a beautiful little desert ... some chocolate deliciousness and a handwritten note from the hotel's manager thanking us for choosing them.  This desert was just ... wow.  Raspberries and chocolate and goodness.  

Luxury: The room had enough techno-gadgets to make my geeky heart flip.  TV hidden behind a painting; LED light system for "do not disturb" instead of a stupid door hanger; a DOORBELL for the room so the room service doesn't have to do that archaic KNOCKING; TV in the bathroom so you can keep your mind turned off while taking a soak.

Cleanliness: The Westin is getting on in years.  The Mansion looks like it was made yesterday.  And I know it's a new hotel but still.  It's next to godliness, right?

Hopefully they'll keep their prices reasonable.  I could easily see them charging double what we paid.

Go there, grab a room.  Have some fun. :)

This place was amazing.. the only problem was that I was only in Atlanta for one night and couldn't stay here longer - I almost want to take a star off for that!

The rooms are super nice and it's probably the nicest room I've ever been in.. I don't always stay at super luxury joints, but I have been lucky enough to experience a few 5 star resorts, and this one is right up there with it.

I heard Usher lives here.. I don't know if that's true or not. Either way, I'm going back to Atlanta and I'm staying here. Great place.

Work around the corner, live in the area, but my first visit here.  Came in last night for a cocktail party and we were situated in a room just outside the gorgeous garden. Had a lovely evening. Met the managing director, Luigi, quite the charmer.... and definitely the host with the most. Love the decor, great staff. The apps we sampled were delicious and the chardonnay tasted, well, a little too good.

Now I just need a reason to rendezvous for an overnight.

This place is beautiful. The customer service is excellent. The rooms are extremely nice. The price per night is expensive but in my opinion it was well worth it. Location was great. It's walking distance to some excellent restaurants and shopping.

Attentive and friendly service + nice decor + big beds = Great way to start off the New Year and my 1st anni with the Mrs!

This place is pretty dope ya'll.  Everything is clean and in its place.  Service is impeccable... check-in took less than 3 minutes.  Room service was quick and delicious (from the Neo resto downstairs).

Unfortunately your mom couldn't stay with me...

This place is fantastic. Simply put its 5 stars. The hotel is beautiful, the service is unparalleled and the spa was wonderful. We are super picky and have been to more than a few spas, and this was my first time rating anything as 5 star. There is a car service to Lenox (yay, no more fighting trying to park over there)! The couples room at the spa was truly special, with a foot bath, and soaking tub followed by a scrub and massage (Eric was mine, and it was the best massage I have ever had. My husband had a female, lovely, and he said it was the best massage he ever had too, sorry tho, I forget her name ;-/). They had special birthday treats set up for me, it was just really special. I highly recommend it if you are looking for the best!

I think I have found the perfect lounge.  I went to The Mansion Lounge last Saturday (March 31) and while I did not stay the night, my experience with the lounge is making me think it might be fun to do a staycation there and stay the night at some point.

When we arrived, we were greeted promptly by the valet.  As soon as you go in, you can't help but notice just how *nice* everything is.  You know when you step inside that you've entered a place that is elegant, upscale, and refined.  But it's still comfortable and everyone is quite nice.  It's luxurious, but unpretentious at the same time.  We headed back toward the lounge and found some comfortable seating to enjoy the live music.  The singer for the evening was fantastic.  The featured singer was not actually there - so this was another singer performing in her place - but you could not tell that this was a "substitute."  She was great and I only wished she has sung longer (the set was over at 12 am I believe).  The style of music is what I might call a mellow, jazzy, rhythm and blues.  I am not musical at all, so this may not be perfectly accurate.  But she sang familiar older school versions of songs by artists like Jill Scott, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and much more.  She sang "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green - and I love President Obama, but this singer did a much better job with her rendition.

To drink, I had the "Eternal Rose" - this was a tasty, refreshing drink for me.  It was sweet and featured Grey Goose Orange and Peach Liquor, but it managed to not be overly sweet.  The menu also featured wine and small plates (so you can eat there too!).

The live music was the perfect backdrop for this lounge - elegant, yet inviting and not "uppity."  There was a lot of seating and different seating areas with plenty of options - chairs, sofas, benches, ottomans, etc.  There were also cool little nooks and crannies and rooms that were somewhat set apart - so you could be a little away from the music if you wanted and still enjoy the music in the background while you hold a conversation.

The only downside was that the waitress was not as fast as I would have hoped.  There were times when we were looking for service and we had to wait longer than we wanted.  But, help was always present, so it wasn't too bad.

Outside of the lounge area, towards the back of the hotel there is a courtyard with a lot of outdoor seating.  So if you do want to take a break from the lounge and the music, there is plenty of seating to enjoy while you continue to sip on your beverage.  

That said, I was not pleased when I went outside and was semi-accosted by a dog the size of a pony.  

I decided to take a walk outside in the courtyard just to see what was there and I noticed a couple walking a dog.  I'm not sure if they lived there at the Mansion or if they were guests who were able to bring a pet?  Either way, I thought it was totally unacceptable to have a dog out there who was not on a leash and I was horrified when the big pony dog bounded over to me and greeted me.  She didn't quite jump on me, but she did make contact.  And this dog was still in training because the owners had to tell the dog 2 or 3 times to back off of me.  The dog was clearly not mean - just friendly.  But I had not expected my Mansion experience to feel like I was in the dog park at Piedmont Park.

That said, I quickly ran back to the comfortable confines of the lounge, continued to sip on beverages and enjoy the music.

I will definitely be back to the Mansion's lounge.  I loved it (minus the dog).  I think it would be a great place to meet a group of girlfriends for a girl's night out or to go to after a dinner date.  It's also what I would call a "flexible" lounge.  It's plush but understated.  I would feel comfortable coming here in a pair of jeans (which is what I had on the evening I was there), heels and a nice blouse.  But I would also feel fine coming by in a long gown after a formal affair to have a drink.  

A few other pluses:
- Great music - no cover charge.
- Parking was validated (so we just paid for what we ate and drank).
- Comfortable ambient temperature - not too hot and not too cold.
- A little room for dancing.  We did not do any wild dancing and there is no dance floor. But a couple of times, the music was too good to just stay seated.  So my friends and I got up once or twice, shook our groove thing for a couple of minutes, patted our hair and sat back down.

I look forward to my return to the Mansion.  After recently experiencing a few restaurant/lounge venues in Atlanta that missed the mark, the Mansion's lounge was a refreshing experience.

We've been back five or six times, including this past weekend for a getaway with my wife and love it. The hotel just has a great feel to it the second you walk through the door. The valet staff is always on top of everything as you arrive and the overall service is always excellent but understated. I would say the word I heard most from the staff over the course of the weekend was "absolutely."

On this stay we were upgraded to a Premiere King Room as part of the AMEX Fine Hotels program and it provided us with a little more room than the standard Deluxe Room. The bed is excellent and the bathroom is one of the best you will find in any hotel. Huge shower, bath overlooking the Buckhead skyline, two sinks, private toilet room, etc...

We had breakfast in the room each morning and the quality of both meals was excellent. Both orders arrived promptly and exactly as we requested. Our room was cleaned each morning and turndown service was provided both evenings. It's great to come back to a perfectly straightened room with the bed turned down and the Bose stereo on with the lights dimmed after a night out.

The location is unbeatable if you like shopping and nice restaurants and we took advantage of both. We also used the house driver multiple times, which is a nice convenience. They no longer offer the personal butler services they early on, and I'm sure it's due to the economy and the overall struggles of the hotel industry. Everything else is still as it was from day one.

The Mansion remains one of our favorite hotels of any city we've visited, and I'm already looking forward to planning a return trip.

Loved this hotel - the rooms were amazing and staff was super friendly. It is quite expensive, but I would say well worth it. The in-room dining was also really great. This hotel is in a great spot in Atlanta as well. I'd highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

Granted, I went to this hotel when it was Mansion on Peachtree, but I hope not much has changed with the new ownership.

Fantastic hotel (the fruit-infused water in the lobby and outside the elevators is a nice touch!). Partner and I enjoyed the pool area and the spa. The bar area is nice as well.

Definitely recommended!

Wow!  Went there for our 10th anniversary.  Try the couples retreat... Great suites at a price of a regular room at the St. Regis!  It is much more quiet and intimate than any hotel I have stayed at (sans Mandarin Bangkok)

This place is great. We just returned from a weekend event trip to Atlanta from Florida for two nights. Everyone we came into contact with from the valet, doorman, front desk, room service, etc., was extremely professional, friendly and polite. The rooms are top class, spacious, extremely well appointed and comfortable.
I must mention the room service because it is the best I have ever experienced in any top tier hotel. Each time we returned to our room, it was spotless, and everything laid out perfectly even to the point of leaving slippers and a floor matt at the sides of the bed.
We had dinner at del Friscos the night we arrived. It shares the same driveway as the MO and we enjoyed a lively atmosphere and good food. The MO also provides free coffee and tea each morning in the lobby.
The gym is better than most hotels and contains a few free weights, many exercise machines and nice aerobic rooms.
The only negative is the $34/night parking fee (most area hotels charge $20) and the internet access charge of $10. As some of the reviewers pointed out, the lobby is beautiful, but on the smaller side and quiet, but I'm more concerned about the rooms and service which are excellent at the MO.

I didn't stay at the hotel. Was in the area & my friend & I went to the lounge/bar inside on main level. Great ambience! Beautifully lit, the decor is elegant but comfy & cozy. The raspberry mojito was the best I've ever had. It was orgasmic. I also ordered an appetizer (Rock shrimp tempura) i believe it was called. Sweet, sour, spicy shrimp in a bowl over a bed of crispy noodles. Large portion for an appetizer, which is good, i couldn't finish it all. It was decent... I probably would have enjoyed it if it wasn't as salty. The sauce was ridiculously salty!!!!

Other than that, great place to go relax for a bit, sit, converse, have a drink or two w/friends of alone. They have two flat screens over bar, the news on one & sports on the other. Oh & since Mansion is a luxury/upscale hotel, you're bound to run into celebrities..if you're into that. Personally, I could careless but my friend was pretty excited when Tasha Smith walked in & sat right next to us. She seemed friendly. Overall, nice bar to go & unwind a bit.

This is a beautiful property, but the level of service is (particularly the front desk staff) a huge departure from Mandarin Oriental standards.  In addition during my stay the television service was out for 5 hours, and when I asked they claimed they were upgrading the system. Should this be done during the day? No apology, or compensation was offered. Called to the front desk several times, and each time was put on a very long hold. I'm not sure if this property is understaffed, or the training is sub par, but I was very disappointed. The Ritz Carlton Buckhead is a much better option.

I find the service at Mandarin Oriental really impeccable..the staff do go above and beyond to help me. Especially the valet guys as well as driver John were very nice and extend their services with extreme courtesy ... The dessert at the bar was magnificent, the bartender was a great conversationalist who kept me entertained without being intrusive at all. I have to give extra extra credits for the staff.

Great hotel with one big flaw.

(Short version at the end of the review.

I booked the Mandarin Oriental as a birthday present for my wife mostly for its spa. The website does praise it as the most impressive place on earth. So our experience was the following:
The room (superior) was awesome, large enough with an very nicely styled bathroom. The bed was amazing, very firm, good mattress, the blankets were fine. We could shut out the light very effectively with the curtains. Huge TV if that is interesting to some. Nice welcome, the staff really was great, very polite, friendly and courteous, but never exaggerated or annoying. Very helpful for whatever question. The breakfast was very good offering a variety of different choices and good coffee. We felt great all the way and would always recommend staying there if it had not been for the Spa.
We did not use the fitness center. The Spa entrance and offered massage "menu" definitely impressing. My wife had some massages and swooned over it.But what about the facility? (This is a quality assessment based on the high standard that the Mandarin Oriental is holding itself against and/or comparing to the quality of the rest of services.) The sauna and steam bath area is strangely old, outdated and pretty unwelcoming, dark and small. There it is hard to believe that the hotel was built in 2008. It is substandard even compared to much cheaper and older hotels. The sauna looks like 15-20 years old. It did not heat up over 180°F which is very moderate. The steam bath is efficient, but not continually steaming. It is puffing up steam once in a while with a barbaric noise, the first time you hear it you are afraid something is going to eyplode. The tiles and decor are strangely blunt. The relaxation area offers only beds with cloth which I would think is very poor hygienic standard considering that people are sweating in this area. The women' s area, I heard, provided access to an outdoor part for fresh air whereas the men's area is like a dungeon. Advertised as one of the greatest spas in Atlanta this was a very big disappointment.) It is questionable for me if these areas have to be separated (ok, I am European) but if so, there could be a joint area for example outside. If my wife and I had wanted to stay in the area longer (which was not the case for reasons explained earlier) we would not have had a chance to see each other for the whole stay. That is inconvenient to say the least.

Finally, if you are not planning to use the sauna and steam room area, the hotel is one of the best in the world. Otherwise, look for something else.

I stayed here for a week while there was a delay in construction for my new home.  To sum it up, the service here was dismal at best. I ordered room service on a few different occasions, which consisted of paying $13 for luke-warm coffee, and waiting over an hour for a meal to arrive to the room, which by then was cold.  The employees had the energy of zombies, and the valet and doormen seemed more interested in the guests that I had coming and going, as opposed to catering to my needs.  The rooms here run around $400 per night, as this is considered a 5 star hotel.  I have stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in NYC, and of course you can guess, the level of service and overall ambiance between the two are worlds apart.  The Mandarin in NYC makes you feel like you are at a 5 star hotel, and the service is unparalleled.  In many ways, Atlanta tries to pattern itself after NYC in the restaurant and hotel industry, but from my experience, it almost never lives up to the same expectations.  The Mandarin in Atlanta needs to revamp its staff with more energetic and professional individuals, and add exhibit a little more class in its operations.  I even noticed a group of business professionals walking back to the hotel from a dinner, in which the doormen were nowhere to be found upon the group entering the hotel, resulting in one of the men in the group having to act as doorman for his group.  These things may seem small to some; however, at a 5 star hotel, these are things that are supposed to set such an elite hotel apart from all others.  I was disappointed in the stay here, and I can't ever see myself staying again, or recommending it to anyone else.  The hotel is beautiful, but In my opinion, you will get a much better experience just steps down the road at Intercontinental Buckhead, or right across the street at the W Buckhead.

This is one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed at.  I have stayed here many times, and have always greatly enjoyed the service and the rooms.  The staff are especially helpful and friendly.  The work-out facilities are very, very nice (it is also the fitness club for permanent residents in the building).  The bar is very nice as well.  The restaurant is small, but very pleasant.  And being in Buckhead is a definite plus!

I highly recommend this hotel!

Attention: This review is strictly for cafe and nothing else.

I had Sunday brunch at the cafe in mandarin oriental.
All the cocktails we ordered are just ordinary and unimpressive. But the burger is really fantastic and the short ribs too!
The service and atmosphere are good. A nice place to have brunch on Sunday. Tips are fixed at 18%.

They provide free valet parking if your visit is for brunch at Cafe.

As far as the hotel goes, five stars all the way. The staff was incredibly friendly. The room was enormous and very comfy. When I arrived, the bellhop took my things up to the room and was kind enough to remember my name and room number in the elevator three days later. I had three delicious macaroons waiting for me and each night had the bed turned down while I was out and about.

The bathroom was enormous and provided a separate little room with the toilet. My only complaint is that in the shower (which is big enough to fit about five people, BTW), doesn't have any area to perch your foot while shaving. Luckily I'm young and flexible so I shoved my foot in the corner. It was just annoying, as nice as the room was, that such a simple thing was missing. The toiletries provided were also a nice touch and they smelled great.

As far as the Cafe and Lounge goes...my feelings are mixed. I had dinner there my first night. I had the salmon for dinner which was perfectly cooked and quite delicious. I also had a martini of some sort which was quite good. For dessert, I had their chocolate cherry mousse. It wasn't quite what I expected. It was a huge dollop of heavy mousse on top of a chocolate and vanilla cookie wafer coated in chocolate ganache served with a smear of caramel and a drop of homemade vanilla ice cream. It was delicious but very, very heavy. I ended up wanting a glass of wine to go with and the bartender suggested, Justin, their "most popular". They charge $18 a glass (which was not divulged to me before I ordered two glasses) when the whole freaking bottle is $26 retail. I know they have to make a profit but damn. I wouldn't have ordered it had I known. My fault, I suppose.

The next day, I went for breakfast, since I didn't want to run around finding a place. Even though there was only one other guest in the restaurant, they made me wait five minutes for a table. To eat, I wanted something light after the previous night's feast. I ordered the egg white frittata. It was advertised as egg whites with asparagus and tomatoes with lowfat mozzarella and a seasonal fruit cup. Well....it was sort of that, plus drenched in a stick of butter. When the waiter set down the frittata, it nearly slid off the plate.  The flavor was very good but I could only eat about half before I felt sick from the butter. If I did it all over again, I'd probably have eaten somewhere else for both meals.

I always enjoy staying here when in atlanta.  Spectacular rooms and about the best service one could ever expect.  It is fairly well hidden behind del friscos so keep a sharp eye or you may drive right past it.

I have not stayed at the hotel but my husband and I had a nice evening out listening to jazz at the Taipan Lounge - great music with Joe Gransden (I'm a fan!) and nice setting. The room and furnishings are lovely and elegant, the cocktails were perfect if pricey but that was expected (no cover for some great music) but the layout is a little odd. Very few tables and little seating in the main room and bar seemed small. There is more seating in a back room that looks out over a beautiful garden, but a bit set off from the music if you can't sit right in the middle of that room.

A nice place to go for a few hours, dress up for jazz, cocktails and snacks, which are quite good too - sushi and a decent size cheese tray and a few other items.

Service is a bit slow - not very attentive but that kept me from drinking more than one of the delicious Martinis so that's probably a good thing :)

Adore the Mandarin Oriental hotels. This one used to be the Mansion which was the same group that had the Mansion in Dallas (great hotel as well). Gorgeous room. Huge. I have a porch! Great staff as well at the front desk as well as the bar/restaurant.
Would gladly stay here again.

We don't stay anyplace else than the Mandarin Oriental when we are staying in Atlanta. The service, atmosphere and rooms are amazing. Not to mention the hotel is quiet and classy with a sense of healing/calming. I've traveled a lot for work in the past and have been disturbed by hotel guests but never at the Mandarin, this simply does not happen.  My husband and I also stayed in the Mandarin suite for our wedding weekend in 2012. Splurge yourself, it's worth it! Brides, be sure to consider the Mandarin for your wedding guest accommodations.

Having stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas, the Mandarin Oriental in Atlanta fell short of expectations.

It was a good experience but not good enough to bring me back.  

Overnight parking is $34/night!!

My first time in Atlanta I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental located in the heart of Buckhead across from the Lenox Square Mall. I loved my state of the art room having 2 flat screen tvs including one in the bathroom. I arrived on a Friday night and stayed for 3 nights. The 3rd night was free due to an online special "Extra Fun Day Away". I received 15% off breakfast for booking online. Free wi-fi was included for all 5 of my electronic devices. Valet parking was just $34 per day.  I thought I had died and gone to heaven with the deal I got! Meeting actor Ving Rhames at the hotel was also a treat.

Had wonderful experience.

Service was impeccable. Decor is very nice and clean. Upon arrival, TV was on and ice was placed in the small ice bucket.

The concierge services were great. I needed to get my charging cord out of my car, and they had the valet bring it to them and then delivered to the room. The bathroom is pristine clean and the room was absolutely amazing. Great mattress, comforter and delicious pillows. A wine key and wine glasses are available, as well as a small bottle of red ; several different small liquor bottles and snacks are at hand (Yes, you will be billed for the consumed goods)

A beautiful place. The breakfast was over-priced. I mean, do not get me wrong, I "get it", but my continental was $30.00!  Also, what is up with that $65 pedicure? Are they planning on replacing my toenails?

WiFi in room is for pay.

We came here for drinks on the patio with friends on our anniversary.  I almost don't want to tell y'all, but we had the whole patio to ourselves.  Our bartender was super sweet and prompt with drinks; she even helped us celebrate by providing gratis glasses of champagne.  It was a lovely way to spend the evening, despite overlooking a construction site.  Looking forward to returning soon! What a gem!

This is one of the most lovely hotels in Atlanta, GA  that I have stayed so far. The room i stayed is tastefully designed, meticulously clean and extremely quiet. The management has put in a lot of effort in ensuring maximum comfort for its guests as shown from the bedding to the bath and shampoo products. Being a frequent traveler, I especially appreciate the quietness of the air-conditioning. Front desk was friendly and courteous. Notwithstanding this, I would highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit Atlanta, GA  .

The Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta is amazing! I had a friend that was staying at the hotel over the weekend and invited me over to see the spa & pool which is on the 19th floor and truly unbelievable. Every staff member was polite and extremely helpful for whatever your needs were. The pool is incredible with break taking views of the city and it was the cleanest pool I have ever swam in, the whole experience was great! For the price you pay to stay at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta you expect great service but I have to agree with other reviewers that we were treated like royalty (and i wasn't even a guest, just a visitor). If you can afford it, you have to stay at least one night and I promise you will not regret it.

The Mandarin Oriental in Atlanta really personifies a secluded, luxurious, and relaxing stay away from home, with impeccable customer service and attention to detail.

We chose to stay here on our first visit to Atlanta, and from the moment we pulled into the courtyard we were greeted by friendly and attentive valets, who quickly helped us get our luggage to the check-in area. There was actually a serious issue with our reservation, as we had booked through Travelocity, and one of their agents had apparently cancelled our reservation without informing us (we had not been refunded either), and the hotel was pretty full to capacity at the time of our arrival. The receptionists were very helpful, and immediately called Travelocity to resolve the issue, and were were offered fresh tea and refreshments while we waited. They were able to get us a room that we desired ready quickly, and were overall very sincere and helpful.

Taking the elevator up to the rooms, we were immediately struck by the level of attention to detail: the relaxing and subtle aromatherapy scents that spread through the hotel, how everything was spotless and clean, the refreshment stations on every floor. The rooms were immaculate, perfectly temperature controlled, and turndown always makes sure to set the sound system to some soft relaxing music once you return, along with a small card with the expected weather the next day.

The beds and pillows were some of the most comfortable we have experienced, and definitely in line with the other hotels in the Mandarin Oriental chain. Ideal for a fantastic nights rest while on the road.

Overall, one of the top 10 hotels we have stayed at, and definitely a good indication of the level of service that we have come to expect and love at Mandarin Orientals.

It was game 6 of the World Series.  We wanted to watch the game and have an after dinner drink.  After waiting for ten minutes across the street at a well known steakhouse chain whose staff was too busy talking with regulars to serve us, we walked across the street to the Mandarin Oriental.

At the MO, we found a small bar on the ground level.  We grabbed two barstools and were immediately greeted.  A quick look at the reasonably priced wine list and we had our selection.  There are two TVs that are discreetly located so we could watch the game but they didn't dominate the very stylish bar area.  

Very nice service and good pricing.  Thank you Mandarin Oriental.  We shall be back.

What a elegant place to come for cocktails or dinner. The Maitre'd was polite from the start then answered questions about a couple of reds with a  taste of each.
Service was very nice but not obtrusive.

Beef carpaccio was a simple and delicious starter.
The Braised Beef short rib came with Chanterelle risotto and finished with an orange zest gremolata this dish did not disappoint.
The Pear Tart (oh my) was served warm with a scoop of vanilla but after enjoying only a couple of bites decided there was "no more room" and took it  home to be enjoyed a bit later in the evening.
Great meal.

I felt like a princess from the moment I arrived there last weekend. I was on an early flight and arrived mid morning. They had my room ready for me within 15 minutes.

Please note they informed me that all standard king or two queen beds face and open construction project on a new building. There really wasn't much noise from it and views from my window are not an issue with me.

They have free WiFi in the lobby but you must pay for it if you want it in your room. My husband and I stayed in a standard king room that included a large TV in the bedroom, and a smaller one in the bathroom which has its own separate tub for viewing. Bathroom also has a glass shower and dual sinks.

There are no ice dispensers. Instead when you call they bring you a bucket of ice! Everything I needed was brought to us quickly, efficiently, and professionally.

The concierge was very helpful in guiding me to use the Marta system and made a map for me to find my way to certain places in Midtown.

They also drive you complimentary within a two mile radius of the property I took advantage of this van ride one morning to find the Lenox Square station. My driver was wonderful. He took me all around Lenox Square and showed me how to find my was once I was dropped off.

Since I was celebrating my birthday that weekend I was pleasantly surprised to find a small cake with strawberries and their signature orchid with "Happy Birthday" made out in chocolate in our room that first night.

I also got to visit and tour the spa. It has two lounges-one indoor and one outdoor as well as a private ladies hot tub. I would assume the men's set up would be similar.

We did have breakfast one morning and I explained that during my whole trip I hadn't encountered any peaches or peach juice. Their kitchen made a peach smoothie especially for me.

The Mandarin Oriental goes above and beyond to make a guest welcome. It is conveniently located near the Buckhead Marta station and a short walk to Lenox Square mall. It will now be my hotel of choice whenever I visit Atlanta in the future.

I visited the Mandarin for some Spa services my husband hooked me up with and the experiece was very good. It was a little smaller than some of the other spas I have been too but I would definetly go back again. My favorite service was the hollistic facial I recieved from Angela. This woman is amazing. I really can skip the message next time and just do another facial because I was very relaxed afterwards.

I stayed at this hotel in February for a girl's weekend in Atlanta with a friend. The hotel itself is beautiful and chic and we had pleasant interactions with all of the hotel staff we encountered. I'm only giving the hotel three stars though because of their booking policies. I booked and paid for the hotel though my credit card company's reward points (which I had been saving up for such an occasion). Unfortunately I didn't realize booking with reward points meant the Mandarin Oriental policies pretty much consider you a second class citizen. The reservation I made with my reward points was for a "Deluxe Room with King or Double Bed". When I called the hotel to make sure we could have a double bed for our room I was told that they could not modify a reservation not made through the Mandarin Oriental but I could cancel my original reservation and make a new one with them for double bed for the same price. Except, you know, I wouldn't be able to use my reward points. Minor detail. I called again another day because I was confused how a hotel could not modify at reservation at their own hotel, no matter how it was booked....same story. On this call I also asked if any of the "Offers" listed on their website that our stay qualified for could be applied...nope, could not be applied because the reservation was not made through them. But again, I was welcome to cancel my reservation and rebook through them and they would be HAPPY to apply those offers to the reservation. Very thoughtful. I did also inquire if we had a city view because my friend had never been to Atlanta and wanted a good view. The woman I was speaking with confirmed we had a city view. Turned out to be a parking lot view...which I guess is technically still a "city" view. The room itself was lovely however, even without a fancy view. After we were settled in, I called the front desk to find out about WiFi and whoever I was speaking with initially said it was included (which was what was listed in the description for our room) but then sort of stumbled and apologized that it wasn't included in our room. I don't know if this was about how the room was booked or about our actual room type but I was too frustrated by hearing this same story over and over to inquire further. I'm just surprised he didn't offer to rebook me through the Mandarin Oriental so I could get free WiFi.

During our stay we ordered room service three times and got massages, manicures, and pedicures at their spa (not paid for reward points). The room service was great and I'll have to leave a separate review for the spa because we really loved it!

Overall, I really liked everything about the Mandarin Oriental hotel itself (especially the decor, exactly my style!), just not our treatment in regards how I booked. If I could have a do-over, I would definitely have used my reward points to stay somewhere that doesn't make you feel so crappy and take away "complimentary" things for using reward points instead of booking through them. It put a sour taste in my about the whole experience and I don't think I'll be booking at any Mandarin again in the future, reward points or not.

I love this brand of Hotels!  While this location in no way compares to the Best in Las Vegas, I found the service and amenities in alignment with what I expect from this Brand.  

My king room was appointed with linens and towels of super comfort and the bed lulled me into a solid nights sleep almost instantly.  

While I did enjoy the spa amenities I was somewhat  disappointed with the truly basic offerings.  I had expected much more.

Service was great, the food for room service was well prepared and prompt and I enjoyed my stay.  I will be using this location for my upcoming quarterly trips.
