For a limited service hotel, Residence Inn Midtown is very impressive.  From friendly valet parking to fun people at the Front Desk.  The hotel is immaculate, well decorated, no-expense-spared furnishings and in a location that rivals no other.  Absolutely no doubt you will not regret booking here.

An OK place to stay. I wish there was parking other than valet. I only stayed here because it is one of the places on the preferred hotels for my company.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
The tub dripped and the TV would fizz out when it was swiveled.
I was not thrilled with the room layout but for a long term stay a kitchen would be appreciated.
It was an easy walk to resturants and the art museum.

A hotel is sometimes just a hotel and this hotel is just that.  It is conveniently located near my office and I guess that is the only reason I chose to stay here.

The rooms were clean, but it did feel weird to have a kitchen in my hotel.  No shampoo, no conditioner, no frills.   It did have free high speed Internet access which was a step above the pay service at the Sheraton.

Room Service exists in the form of room delivered take-out from Madison's next door.

Great place to stay -- it certainly meets the expectations that I have for a Marriott branded hotel. The hotel looked recently renovated, with very contemporary hotel room furniture and comfortable bedding. Everything looked clean, both within the room and around the property. The breakfast offered was top-notch; however, you'd figure that the hotel would at least rotate the offerings, especially since it is an extended stay hotel.

Because of a freak snowstorm in Atlanta, my group ended up being stranded at the hotel for an entire day, due to the roads being impassable, and we had to conduct business in the hotel. The hotel staff was attentive to our needs, helping us reserve meeting rooms on short notice and helping us out wherever possible.

Parking can be a bit tricky, especially if you have a larger vehicle, since underground valet parking is the only option available. Fortunately for our group, we simply parked our vehicles elsewhere and took the MARTA train to the Arts Center station, where it's an easy 5 minute walk to the hotel from there.

The only thing that was disappointing about the location is that there wasn't that many restaurants in the area. If you're looking to grab something to eat after 7pm, you'll have to take the free shuttle to Atlantic Station or walk a few blocks south. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but it certainly was inconvenient.

I came to visit my husband who is working in the area for several weeks. Shaun at the front desk heard my husband was getting a car to pick me up so we could spend our anniversary together. Upon arriving, they gave me the key to the room. A few moments later they called and said we had a package and she would bring it up. Imagine my surprise when she brought a cake with giant strawberries, balloon and a card signed by the employees. We were so surprised. Customer service here is definitely deserving of the five stars. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

Free breakfast! OK, so it wasn't the best breakfast ever, it was free and they had much more of a selection than your typical cereal, fruit, muffin selection.

Our room was more like a suite (for 79 dollars), when you walked in it had a couch (sofa bed), flat screen TV, desk, and a kitchen equipped with a stove top, fridge, and dishwasher. Then you go through another door to the bedroom which had another TV, a closet, bathroom, and another desk.

It was very clean and since the cleaning staff saw that I had made a poor attempt to make the couch into the sofa bed, they made it for us the next couple nights which was so helpful! Everything was clean and new too. The front desk staff was also very helpful whether they were the night staff or the daytime staff, they were always smiling and friendly.

The only downfall was the parking! Out front there are plenty of parallel spots, but they are all 2 hour parking spots 24/7. The hotel has a garage, but it is 21 dollars a night - even for hotel guests!!! We ended up parking in a $5 lot down the street a little ways. It was kind of sketchy because we were the only car in there, but it didn't say that you couldn't park overnight and when we got back to it in the morning, our car was still there!

Great place to stay if you are in town for a while.  It is much nicer than a lot of extended stay hotels that I have been to!

Rude staff. Really unhelpful. No wi fi. No extra toiletries.  Night manager Chris is too good for the guests.

A wonderful 3-night stay won thru a Priceline bid. The room is like a studio apartment with full kitchen. Lots of biz travellers, although we were staying for leisure. If you drive, guest registration/parking entry is the alley between the Hotel and FedEx building. Breakfast was hot and hearty, bed was excellent with superior cotton, staff was friendly and helpful, multiple coin-operated guest laundry was a big plus! High Museum of Art is across the street. Valet parking at hotel was $22 a day, overnight parking at nearby garage is $18. A great stay overall !

First day check in I was given someone else's room not once but twice. The attendance in the front desk smiled and through a small laugh which I thought it was rude. On the third time giving me a room I made her go upstairs to double check the room was empty.  If It was up to me I would not give them one star.  I paid for a seven nite stay but I was so ready to leave.

Great location in Midtown across from the High Museum.  Great prices with a AAA card.  Super friendly staff.

The rooms are big.  We'd stayed here in 2002 when the hotel was new.  It's not new anymore.  The front desk people are nice as can be, but not as efficient as their predecessors. The valet parking guys were super helpful.

Ask for a room on a higher floor so you get more light in the room.  The buildings on either side are very close.

I travel a decent amount (as in I am a platinum Marriott member), but I am not that picky with regard to the type of hotel.  Having been travelling since 5 a.m. and arriving at 11 p.m., I was excited to get in my bed and sleep.

To start, the valet is fine and relatively quick, but expensive at $21/day.  The front desk is average and the gym is awful, but again, not that big a deal.  The rooms are very clean and large with a 'living room' and a bedroom.  The reason for my rating - the beds!!! The main bed was so awful that I literally couldn't sleep and slept on the sofa bed - which uses a mattress that many freshman college kids would laugh at.  For the next three nights, I slept on the sofa bed.  Basically three sleepless nights.

If you don't mind an absolutely terrible mattress, this hotel has everything else you'd probably like - but in the end, the goal is to sleep!

This is probably a 3 star hotel, but I'm adding stars for how well the staff treated us. We were only staying here one night, but my friend got a nasty stomach flu and had to extend his stay. It was a pretty gross situation too. Our buddy barfed all over the MARTA train on the way back to the hotel after a Braves game. Dang stomach bug bit him hard and fast. i feel bad for the poor Braves fans heading on down the MARTA line. Hopefully that train full of people were at least able to switch cars at the next stop. I'm telling you, it was bad news. The hotel accommodated him very well though, so props to you Residence Inn!

I had the pleasure of staying at this location over Labor Day weekend, and I have to say that I couldn't have asked for a better stay.

I arrived early...early as in 12:00 noon.  (Check-in doesn't start until 4:00pm.)  I kind of thought before hand that I wouldn't be able to receive a room that early, but I really needed a shower and was hopeful.  At first, I was told that a room was not available, but then after I told them that all I needed was a place with a towel, soap and water, I received a room.

The room I received was a very nice suite, complete with kitchen area, flat screen TV and sitting area.  The water pressure was very good and consistent, and I had no problems with water temperature.  The housekeeping staff there were very friendly and professional, and kept my room clean and stocked with towels and bathroom accessories.

Did I mention that the bed was absolutely comfortable?  The pillows were soft and cozy and each time I laid down on the bed, I was able to get a very good night's sleep.

The parking situation....wasn't really a situation.  Parking in the area is extremely difficult, and I had no problem with the $22/day charge.  In fact, the valet workers were the most professional that I have experienced.  Whenever I needed my vehicle, they retrieved it quickly, always had a smile on their faces and were very friendly.

The MARTA station (Arts Center) was a block or two away, and I never felt in danger walking in the area at night.  (Of course you should always use common sense anywhere you go.)

Bottom line, the next time I am in the Atlanta area, I will be staying at this hotel.

For extended stay or weekend travel, don't stay anywhere else in Midtown ATL.

My husband stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn for several weeks while working on a business project.  I had the opportunity to spend time with him at the Marriott Residence Inn.  Before he moved to the Marriott Residence Inn, he stayed for a few months at another Midtown Atlanta hotel.  Although the other hotel was a considerably more posh hotel, we both agree that the Marriott Residence Inn is the better choice, especially for the extended stay guest.  First of all, the hotel staff is excellent.  Thomas and Shaun at the front desk are absolute professionals, and definitely took great care of the guests.  Their hospitality made the visit so pleasant for my husband and me.  Robert in the breakfast room worked hard and always took wonderful care of the guests. He always went the extra mile to do an excellent job and make the Marriott Residence Inn a friendly, warm place to stay in Marriott Residence Inn.                                                                                                                       Secondly, the services the hotel provides are perfect for the long-term guest.  They have all the amenities--laundry room, kitchen in guest rooms, daily free breakfast and free dinner four nights a week in the Hearth Room, a spartan gym, free wifi, free use of a computer and printer downstairs.  Compared to other hotels in Midtown Atlanta that offered no laundry facilities, no kitchen in guest rooms, $9/for 15 minutes use of the downstairs computer and $1.50-$2.00 page to print boarding passes, parking garages with all kinds of mechanical problems with their entrance/exit gates in the parking garage, spotty housekeeping services, etc. (the Renaissance Hotel a few miles from the Marriott Residence Inn comes to mind.)  By comparison, the Marriott Residence Inn shines.                                                                                                                Thirdly, the location of the Marriott Residence Inn is great.  It's right across from the High Museum of Art, close to a lot of great local restaurants, shopping and movies at Atlantic Station and by a MARTA stop (so you can get around and see the beautiful city of Atlanta.)  If you're visiting Midtown Atlanta for an overnight or for a long-term situation, staying at the Marriott Residence Inn is as comfortable as being at home.

This was very nice and affordable hotel. There is one way in one way out which proves safe when travelling alone. The rooms are of pretty good quality and the hotel offers free continental breakfast. The menu includes ham, egg and cheese biscuits, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, fruit, boiled eggs and potatoes. The breakfast area is located on the second floor of the hotel.

Each room is equipped as most Residence Inns are. It has a fridge, stove, microwave and small kitchen area. They provide elite members with a welcome gift which includes bottled water, candy and a piece of fruit.

The parking situation is expensive. The lot next door offers after hours parking for $5 but guest of the hotel are asked to pay $25. How crazy is that? There are two metered options near the hotel. The area is not ideal if you do not have a vehicle and are not planning to trek around the immediate area. It would be very hard to get around and the taxi drivers are known to take advantage of tourists.

The hotel is about 15 minutes from the Georgia Dome and less than five minutes away from Atlantic Station. I stayed here while in town for the Saints/Atlanta game. We spent $15 dollars for a taxi to the dome as opposed to $40 parking. There were many guest also in town for the football classic (Alabama)  that weekend.

Overall, this was a nice stay and I would stay here again.

4 stars for a Residence Inn. Room was nice size, clean and well insulated. Skip the complimentary dinner social. But over all nice for a residence inn. Typical downtown hotel where most things in area close around five , including the chick fil a.

Location, location, location. And, this is the best, especially if you are going to High Art. It is on a beautiful street, about a 2-minute walk from the High Art Museum. Right past the art museum, there are tons of shops, restaurants, etc., all within walking distance.  The area is clean and seems very safe (but, I don't know that for sure). The hotel staff is very nice and friendly.  I loved the wood floors in the lobby - someone keeps them really nice and polished!

This hotel is an historic building, I believe. It's 6 floors, and is a standard residence inn; full kitchen, living room, bedroom, etc. They serve a FANTASTIC full buffet breakfast in the mornings, and during the week, serve little meals in the evening (very nice).   The eating area is huge - plenty of room with a lot of windows for a nice, bright space.

There is a big laundry room on the first floor with lots of good washers and dryers. That's always a nice amenity for a long stay.

My room was a 1 bedroom suite. It was very clean and comfortable. The bed was great - nice and firm. There's plenty of closet space. The furniture is the same as in all the older Residence Inns; but, as long as it's clean, that's all I care about. The bathroom was the tub/shower and toilet in a small room, then the sink outside that room. The bathroom was clean and functional, with lots of clean towels.

The pricetag on this hotel room is hefty. But, that's about the location. And, it only offers valet parking for $21 a day - no other option. White the pricetag was a bit out of my budget, I would have to say that it was really worth the price when you consider the location. Super nice area!

This hotel was very nice. Our room was huge and came with a kitchen and living room. The employees were very helpful and nice too. The only downside staying here was your car had to be parked by valet which is an extra cost plus the times you have to tip the valet guy. Otherwise I would recommend it.

The location is right down in the middle of everything.  The parking was a mess but they took and retrieved the car fast.  The room was clean and big but only gave two towels.  The breakfast was standard but the attendants went out if the way to help.  The gym pretty much sucked almost all the equipment was broke.  I would stay here again but they could make some improvements.

We travel a lot, with our kids, and this is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The rooms were HUGE, and had everything we needed. The staff was fantastic~ friendly, helpful, and made us feel like VIP's (which isn't usually the case when you have several young children in tow.) The breakfast buffet, and dinner (both complimentary) were a huge boost to our budget too.
My kids wanted to move in!
Whether you are a family, or an extended business traveler, this hotel is the best option. It should be the standard by which similar hotels compare themselves.
I don't usually write reviews, but this hotel exceeded our expectations. Hubs got extra kisses that night for finding us such a great spot.
