Psst, if I don't make it out of here, tell my loved ones they're... um, my loved ones.
I'm holed up in the Marriott Residence Inn on Piedmont Road right now. Room 1723. It's way in the back, so if someone comes to look for me, tell them to bring provisions. In fact, it's so far a walk from the parking lot that I thought I was going to have to find a hotel room to stay in on the way to my room. It's so far away from the front desk that the weather report at checkin is no longer applicable. I'm pretty sure I can see the ocean.
At the front desk, there's so much security (cameras, locks, etc.) that one has to wonder whether an assasination attempt was made here previously.
The beds are fairly comfortable, though the suites look war torn, as if a British soccer team recently stayed here. The bathtub looks like it was dragged here from Chattanooga. Behind a horse.
There's a fireplace in the room, which is good because it's about 12 degrees in Atlanta right now (isn't this supposed to be the South?), but the bad news is the draft coming from the outside seems to be entering through the open flue, which seems to be busted.
But never fear because I have the heater on. Only I think that's where the scent of natural gas is coming from. Which leads me to my original request. If I don't make it out of here.... well, you know.

I am staying here right now.... was in town for 2 weeks for the holidays and decided to treat my dog (60 lbs) and myself to a bit of downtime. We have been here 3 nights and I will do this every time I come to ATL. Great little respite that means I can see friends, but also have some downtime as well. Great size of the rooms - I actually had a friend who lives here stay with me last night on the pull out - and plenty of space. Nice to have a real kitchen! So far all of the staff were lovely as well! my only complaint is that there is something that looks like blood on the carpet in the bathroom. Other than that - it is great! My sanity is appreciative of this break as well! I would definitely recommend!

So I was in a terrible and stressed out mood after my apartment was flooded by my washing machine. I had to find a place to go with my cat and 40+ lb dog on short notice and I happened to find the Residence Inn. Not only is it conveniently located, but it was affordable for a sweet and only has a one time $100 pet fee. Some hotels were charging $25 per pet, per day and others had a 25 lb weight limit, so this was a clear win. In addition, parking is free.
When I got to the hotel, I was nice, but clearly upset, and the guy immediately offered me a bottle of water and took all of my luggage up the stairs for me. I saw people complaining, but it's only one flight of stairs and there is help if you want it.
The hotel has been great since the second I walked in the door. The room is really nice, and spacious for a "studio suite." The kitchen has granite countertops and everything. I actually feel pretty cozy in here (writing this from the hotel room's desk). In addition to the room, the hotel cooks a pretty tasty breakfast every morning with many options, and has about 3 weekly events for the guests. Tonight is nacho night, and there is complimentary beer and wine, in addition to nachos, pulled pork, chicken wings, etc. It's a cute way to get everyone into the main area and it's really nice when you're kind of lonely in a hotel room.
There is a really nice looking fire pit and grill, which I intend to check out tonight with some friends.
Last but not least, the staff here is as nice as they come. The two ladies at the front desk, Rochelle and Yolanda, have been so sweet and helpful. I hope that I will never have to stay in another hotel in the city I live in, but if I do, I will be right back here!@

Outstanding facility with a good room. Ours had a single King size bed and a sofa sleeper which was just right for two adults, a toddler and a teenager. The full kitchen was very adequate and stocked with all the utensils that one would need to cook. With the full refrigerator, I was able to host my local ATL family for Thanksgiving and have plenty of room to put away the leftovers for another day. A lot of free parking which was a bonus given that I was hosting other family members.
This Residence Inn had the best hotel high-speed WiFi that I've ever experienced and my family had six devices connected at one time and it never skipped a beat although I did have to reconnect each time I powered off a device.
The LG high-def TV made for watching Thanksgiving sports events and weekend college football very enjoyable. Plenty of closet space and a dresser for storing your clothes. Great temperature control which came in handy the chilly weekend I was a guest. I would highly recommend this Residence Inn and will use them again in the future. Local is central to many different places in the ATL area.

We stayed here for a week in August with our 3 kids. The place is really small. The layout is a bunch of little "pods" with a larger building serving as the lobby/breakfast/social area. Each pod holds 8 rooms, 4 downstairs and 4 upstairs.
The room was pretty small for 5 people. It has a full kitchen, which we used a few times. It was summer, so we had no use for the fireplace. I could tell the room was very recently renovated. In fact, the first day we checked in, the caulk around the front door was still wet. Worked seemed to be doing renovations all over.
Breakfast was the typical Marriott affair: pre-made eggs and sausage dumped into serving trays with sides of beagles, toast, etc. Slightly better than continental, but no where near as nice as Embassy Suites. It did the job of giving us some morning substanance.
The pool was nothing to write home about, but as long as it's wet, my kids didn't seem to mind. This is a good time to point out the lack of basic cleaning I saw everywhere. It wasn't like it was horribly dirty, but there was obvious signs of putting off what I would consider "daily cleaning chores". For instance, the entire week we were there, they never once scrubbed the sun screen film from the pool edge. Also, the sidewalks were not swept/sprayed clean like other places. Again, it wasn't "dirty", it was just missing the final touches here and there.
One major flaw with the facilities was flooding. We were in Atlanta for a wedding. The afternoon of, we all get dressed up and, just as we were leaving, a major thunderstorm hit. The roof design of the buildings was such that all the water from the roof funneled down towards the stairs, where it dumped right where the first landing was, basically trapping you upstairs behind a waterfall that is dumping onto the landing. The roof is like 6" shorter than the stairs, so it's a flaw in the building design. Once you get downstairs, you face the next challenge: all of the side walks seemed to slope right down to the foot of the stairs, creating a huge 6" deep pond. Needless to say, we all got soaked.
For the most part, the staff was friendly, although not always "helpful". The night lady, however, was not friendly nor helpful. It's my opinion that she should consider employment that does not involve interacting with people.
Overall, I would rate my stay as "ok". There were some things that was done well, but others that defiantly needed improvement.

Nicely renovated room. Stairs are uneven to second floor, which is causing all of us to trip. But, my kids are happily enjoying their large loft and we usually try to stay at a Residence Inn for the extra space. The breakfast area is usually really crowded this week, but the food has been fine. The area is very convenient to downtown--about a 12 minute drive--and there are plenty of great restaurants and shops in Buckhead. It's a great way to travel with family.

Best hotel ever. Great service. All smiles. Gave me a complimentary upgrade. I left my Sonicare and they accidentally threw it out. Sent me a brand new one! Highly recommend this place.

Be aware stay with care. Hands down the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. I stayed at a Howard Johnson in Nevada which was better. One night all I heard was rap music. The following night at 12:30am people were talking, smoking and drinking outside my room. Given their appearance, the time of night and where they were sitting I don't believe they were staying at the hotel. I went to the front desk, passing the individuals, the man at the front desk called security. The people disappeared. At 3:30am one of the individuals I passed was standing outside my door yelling "f&ck you." Obviously that was my last night. If you are into thrill and adventure it's the place for you. If you want a good night sleep go anywhere else!!!

Banda, Banda, Banda! He gave me exception service my entire stay! My first night I got I to the hotel at 1am and Banda greeted me with a smile and a hand shake. After he noticed I was staying for 30 days he immediately said, "looks like we will be family for a while"! Every morning I see him after my run just because of his great personality!

On the road to Cincinnati through Atlanta, Priceline lined this place up for $80/night which was a tremendous savings from the $220 advertised price.
The room was beautiful, spacious, with a nice fully stocked kitchen with range, granite countertops, under mounted stainless steel sink, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, flat screen TV, fireplace, queen bed, and sleeper sofa. The bathroom was spacious, granite countertops, nice tile floor, sizable shower and a nice view overlooking the property.
I took the sofa, my friend took the bed. That's about where the comfort of this stay ended. The sofa was awful. It felt like every spring was just an inch from the surface of the padded topper. I was jarred awake around 3:30am by a spring in the sleeper sofa giving way and snapping up into my back. Then, at exactly 6:43am, I hear a garbage truck come barreling through there and picking up the dumpster right next to our suite. This truck must have banged that dumpster 10 times, and then revved up the engine and tore out of there. I was not a happy camper.
They serve a wonderful breakfast buffet from 6:30a-9:30a which will save you from having to go buy one. Fresh scrambled eggs, hash browns, tortilla wraps, pancakes, waffles, muffins, sausage & sausage gravy, biscuits, bacon, fruit, juices, tea, coffee. Wi-Fi access was excellent and the amenities were very nice.
I mentioned to the hotel manager on duty my troubles with the sofa and my dismay at why on earth they have garbage collection at a hotel where people are sure to be sleeping at 20 minutes until 7 in the morning. He apologized and gave me a coupon for a free night's stay. I would have given this place 4 stars, but I give it 5 for the way they handled my problems with the sofa & the garbage. Everything all the way around is top notch here. That is how you make satisfied customers. Kudos to Marriott for having an excellent facility and competent management.

My family and I have stayed at this location for about 10 years on our Atlanta excursions. First of all, the location is perfect. You can easily access so many locations and destinations that a tourist would want to enjoy. The rooms have been recently refurbished and they look great. The thing we like best about this hotel is it feels like an apartment.
The staff here this trip has been outstanding. We have needed help with little things and both the day and night staff have been so helpful and friendly.
I would highly recommend this hotel for a weekend getaway, especially when Cirque du Soleil is in town.

This place is great. It's more like a community than a hotel. We stayed here with a large group of family and friends in 4 rooms. The rooms were all different and really nice. One of our rooms had an upstairs loft area with a second bedroom. The employees here were above and beyond helpful. There is an outdoor patio area with firepits and grills for bbq-ing. We set up in this spot a few times. Parking is plentiful and walkways lead to the outdoor entrances of each room. There's a pool and basketball court on premises. Breakfast buffet in the morning. And the staff hooked us up with a taxi (van) driver, who we used all weekend to transport our group of drinkers around the city. One event being an Atlanta Falcons game. Don't misunderstand, we had to pay for this guy (as a group you can split the fare which makes it pretty inexpensive), but he was great and made everything crazy convenient. I'd stay here again for sure.

Great customer service upon checkin! Rochelle did a great job. The unit we had was awesome. We had a two bedroom, 2 bathroom loft with a full kitchen. We were always able to find parking easily. Theres a waffle house and a gas station at the end of the block. Ill definitely stay here again.

Well... what I can say is that the hotel offers a great nightly rate for practically a suite, that is pet friendly. What I can also say is that although an "up and coming" area, I still don't/can't trust it. Stayed here recently for business and althought the staff was so friendly and accomodating... I just think that the outdoor access to your room, is not safe. While I stayed there one of my colleagues had someone open her door at 10:30pm, while she was in the kitchen and couldn't see who was there. Pretty scary stuff. I've also heard of people loitering and stealing vehicles off the parking lot. We also had a few issues with the rooms themselves, as some had soiled/dirty furniture and others had flea infested rooms. I can't say I would personally come back and stay here but it was an overall ok experience. 3 Stars because the staff is just that good.

Not sure what these people who posted reviews that are negative; I have been here for six weeks and I've had nothing but incredibly friendly service and hreat value facilities. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly; in fact they go out of their way to make you feel like you're part of the regular community. Ready with great conversations, a simple good mornng or a great recommendations. Prices are really reasonable; with first and second floor options, and one bed and two bed style suites. They've got several shuttle drivers for two shifts during the day/evening; more than willing to to get you from 2 to 3 miles away from the hotel perimeter. Linburg Station is less than a mile away you've got several coffee shops including to Starbucks within short walks away the grocery store movie theaters and shopping. When it comes to housekeeping; the sheets & towels are clean, bathrooms are clean. You
can't just say much bad, even the free breakfast; it's simple, easy and filling food for people on the road. They also host 2 to 3 times a week a night happy hour meet and greet with different kinds of snack foods from tacos to grilled sausages. I love the fact that they even offer an option if you need a pet friendly hotel. You can bring your own pet. On the other hand --they don't take any crap with big parties, smoking in the room or drugs.
