One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in, this Residence Inn is located close to Atlanta's epicentre, allowing for short hops to bars and restaurants. Equipped with a kitchen, and in some rooms, a separate bedroom that is separated from a living area by a door, this hotel has the feel of a personal home.   Staff at lobby is great and the hotel is located in a historic building, yet with modern touches.

Be aware, the hotel is a older property.  This is not good or bad, just is.  One bedroom was huge, the size of an apartment.  We had problems at check-in (no one was there for 20 minutes) but when I told Kay (the manager) about the problem, she listened, was kind and acknowledged that the problem needed to be resolved. (the employee was the only person there, yet if he had to address a problem in a room, there was no way for someone to get in touch with him).  I couldn't have asked for it to be handled better or more professionally.

Breakfast was a typical Marriott breakfast (I am a huge fan of the homemade oatmeal).  The happy hour was a little strange (salad, chili and pie).  They served wine and beer too.

Note:  I am not deducting points because of the problem with check in.  I understand things happen and when given a chance to take care of it, it was taken care of very professionally, which is all I ask.  We could not have been more pleased with how it was handled.  Kay took accountability and recognized there were a couple of things that need to be addressed.  She even gave us a little handwritten note later.  (really nice touch)

I am giving it four stars, my husband says three.  I win!

First & foremost.... turn in where the is a space in the bricks & an iron fence... you really can't see the sign for the place from the road unless you know where it is. I stayed here on my move across country & the BEST thing about this place is that it's animal friendly. I had to move my poor kitties cross country & this was a place that would let the little ones roam free inside for the night. The room was clean, although a little outdated.  The staff was friendly, there was a continental breakfast and they have a secure parking lot. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and bars. Plus it's close to the FED if you need to go there for work. No complaints other than the dated-ness and slower than molasses elevator. I would stay again.

It's a Residence Inn. Nicer than some, but a couple of peeves. Air handling system is a bit loud and the TV reception is poor. Still it is in a nice part of town, the water is hot, the people nice and I can easily walk from the subway.
The Marriott points keep on piling up. That means vacations are in our future......

Nice place - received a very good rate off Priceline.  Everything was good until the cleaning staff was ready for our room - ignoring our "do not disturb" sign.  The bed was super comfortable; close the bedroom door for a little more quietness.

As mentioned, this is an older property - seems like it was an apartment building of some form that was made into a hotel - there was a doorbell at the room door - yes, sorry I rang that every time I came and left our room. I'm easily amused.

Staff was very friendly, easy check in process. Parking is $19/day for their lot, but the lot is fairly small - was almost afraid my rental was going to get scratched.

Room is HUGE. My apartment is probably just as big. Full kitchen, dining table, separate bedroom. The location is perfect - quick walk to Piedmont Park and some fun bars/restaurants, and by a train station. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice staff and hotel is clean. Location is great walking distance from Pidemont Park and great resturants. Very comfortable stay here at the Residence Inn. This property needs to updated. Other than that no complaints.

    Suite 301

    + Huge 1 bedroom suite
+ Tons of natural light; 3 large windows in bedroom, 1 in bathroom, 1 in dining room & french door leading to balcony off living room
    + Full size kitchen
    + Pet friendly
    + Convenient location
+ Outstanding service  **Eric & Paul especially**
    + Modern/updated furniture & appliances
    + Very clean
    + Large towels
+ Limited parking, however LAZ is only $10 overnight (no in/out access) across the street
+ Plenty of great restaurants in walking distance
+ Umbrella's at desk to borrow
    + Free Wi-Fi

    - Bed very hard/uncomfortable
    - Bathtub, usually a plus...but digs in back when reclining
    - Bring a fan for white noise; able to hear traffic, horns, trucks, dogs barking, etc.
    - Limited on-site parking ($25) with in/out privileges.
Only 5 on-site parking spaces left when I checked in on a Monday night at 5:30 PM.  Spaces cannot be reserved in advance & some spaces aren't available at all because they are leased to a nearby Pub.

I had a pretty long stay at this hotel, 60+ nights and it was good for various reasons,
    - excellent location (car or walking it's in the middle of all the Atlanta area)
    - "New" the building is old/historical but they re-did all the hotel!! Great furniture good taste and this is trough out the hotel.
    - People, Eric at the front desk is great and Paul where very friendly and helps with advice, etc You can clearly see they build relations and not just attend a customer.

    Thanks a bunch for all!
    Cesar
