History

Established in 2008.

Your Aska Lodge proprietors, Bob and Mary Jo Stamper, are ready to welcome you to the North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains along with their resident dog, Abby (bassett/corgi mix).  Bob recently retired after 30 years in law enforcement, and Mary Jo, an LPN-turned-innkeeper, are finally realizing their dream of owning their own B & B after many years of staying in others.

Bob and Mary Jo are originally from New Jersey, but most recently spent the past 20 years in Lakeland, Florida.  After coming to Blue Ridge for many years to vacation, they found the perfect place in October 2007, moved in December 2007, and spent the next few months turning the house into the luxury lodging it is today.

They'd love to spoil YOU at the Aska Lodge!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a quick getaway and found Aska Lodge in a guidebook. We loved it! The Lodge is really cozy and comfortable which is exactly what we were hoping for. We stayed in a room that was small but had a nice wrap around porch. The inn keepers were friendly and the breakfasts were delicious. It's a great B&B in a great location, the town of Blue Ridge is fun for an excursion and there's lots of hiking nearby. We would definitely recommend the Aska Lodge to anyone looking to get away from it all!

My boyfriend and I just had the opportunity to spend two lovely nights here in Blue Ridge, and I have to say our visit to the Aska Lodge completely exceeded our expectations for our first stay at a B&B!

Bob and Mary Jo were very friendly and accommodating.  Being the only guests at the lodge a few days after Christmas, Bob was great at coming out and chatting with us often without hovering, and we had some really interesting conversations with him! Both breakfasts we had here were delicious, especially the maple sausage rolls, which I easily could have eaten 6 more of. We were interested in doing some hiking, and Bob was able to give us some recommendations and point us in the right direction. We hiked up and saw an impressive waterfall (I forget the name).

The views from the front deck were beautiful.  I can't even imagine how pretty (and busy!) this place must be in the fall. We stayed in the Jessica Lynn room and were super pleased with the rustic decor, electric fireplace, and best of all, giant jacuzzi tub!

If you're looking for a relaxing weekend getaway with wonderful hosts, this is the spot.

Bob and Mary Jo run a first-class operation.  We had the Rachel Victoria Room and really enjoyed the private balcony, whether it was to watch the hummingbirds come up to the feeder on the railing or to stargaze at night.  The room itself was big, comfortable and tastefully appointed.  It was very hot in Georgia when we visited, but the lodge's central A/C kept everything at a nice temperature.  The Rachel Victoria room has its own additional window A/C but it wasn't necessary.  The breakfasts were fantastic too!

Blue Ridge is a bit off the beaten path but if you are looking for some quality R&R, I highly recommend it.  This place would be awesome in the fall.

Booked 3 of the 4 rooms here for travelling to a family wedding. Growing up in the area, I knew we didn't want to stay in any of the local hotels. Rick and Janet were the best hosts we could have asked for. Breakfast was superb, the view was wonderful, and we had just a great time. New linens, new mattresses in the bedrooms.

Every B&B has its memorable items, and the cats at Aska were the pleasant surprise. Nathan kept us well entertained! They certainly raised the bar for all other B&Bs we will stay at in the future - our Boston regular doesn't even come close to the hospitality we enjoyed at Aska Lodge.

We were at the lodge Jan 17-19 2015 and were very impressed by the facility and the owners Rick and Janet. They made us feel very welcomed and are the nicest couple we have met. They really go out of their way to take care of their guests. The breakfast is delicious especially the French Toast and Rick's Banana Nut bread is out of this world. Not to forget the awesome croissants. The Humming Bird room was very comfortable. They also recommend places you can visit which is very helpful. We plan to visit back in the fall.

This was my second stay at the Aska Lodge and I highly recommend it. Janet and Ric are lovely inn keepers who work hard to make you feel at home, including greeting you with a warm cake. The inn is beautifully maintained. I played darts and dominos, watched tv, and enjoyed a drink with my boyfriend in the common space. The rooms are beautiful. Very clean and nicely furnished. I stayed in Springer Mountain the first time and loved the balcony. This most recent stay I chose Amicola Falls and the giant jacuzzi tub (big enough for two) was fantastic. The linens on the bed are also the softest I have ever felt. I got a great night's sleep. Breakfast in the morning was delicious--an egg and hash brown casserole with fruit and a muffin. Last time I visited I also enjoyed a pineapple upside down french toast. The inn is only about 10 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge, an easy drive.
