If you're seeking a decent lodging option as you travel on I-85, do yourself a favor and skip this place.
My goodness, where do I start? Much of the building was kind of shabby. It looked like renovations haven't happened for about 20 years. When I sat down at the computer in the lobby, I quickly learned it didn't work. One of the clerks explained that "someone decided to fry it" by dropping their drink on the machine. It just seemed like an odd and unprofessional statement to make.
At 1 a.m., there was a ruckus outside. I didn't feel like getting out of bed and in general, I tend to turn the fan on high to blot out any noise. However, this time I couldn't help but hear what sounded like teenagers "hanging out" in the parking lot of the motel with loud shitty rap music playing. Now this isn't the fault of the motel owner or employees, I suppose, but hey, that seemed odd. Another red flag.
Lastly, don't be fooled into thinking there's a breakfast because this is a Days Inn. There is not! Adjacent to the lobby is a seating area that looks very much like a breakfast area for guests, but when I showed up at 7:30 a.m., there was only coffee in the lobby. When I inquired about a real breakfast, the staff person said matter-of-factly, "We are waiting on a delivery truck." Ha ha ha. Oh yeah, what that means in rural NW Georgia is that they're waiting for a redneck dude in an old pick-up truck to deliver a box or two of cheap powdered donuts. Breakfast my ass!
Seriously, if you tend to stay at Days Inns because you rely on their very good reputation of quality, avoid this place. This has to be the very worst Days Inn of all-time!

Their first impression was frankly nerve wracking. I typically stay in much nicer hotels but everything in town was completely booked so I had to call around a good bit. It is a former Days Inn but the girl at the front desk said the ownership changed to Home Lodge several years ago. She was efficient and polite.
The clientele was concerning at first but I got up the courage to go look at the room and I was relievingly surprised at how clean the room was, free wi-fi and the nice TV and satellite channels available. I closed the curtains, deadbolted the door and worked quietly until midnight.
I don't expect to book here again but if you are desperate a night's stay the place is tolerable. I suggest requesting Room 404. Just don't expect a nice view or luxurious sheets and towels or the most updated decor.
