I wasn't impressed... Yes, they are cheap and have a refrigerator, microwave, and Internet... However, it wasn't worth it.  The  service at the front desk was unpleasant. They did not deliver items to the room, so we had to go outside and walk all the way to the reception area every time we needed something. The coffee was horrible, so we had to buy coffee every morning. In the weekdays breakfast ends at 9, so we didn't even eat the complimentary breakfast. I would recommended spending a bit more and going somewhere else!

Roaches in the bathroom, scum all over the shower, stained chair and ottoman. No complimentary extra towels if you need them--they make you write your name down at the front desk to get towels! I've NEVER been to a hotel that makes you do that! Not to mention my boyfriend is covered in bites and we don't know where they came from. Not doing it again...EVER. The breakfast is sad too. Cold pastries, waffle maker, and cheap coffee. Pay extra and stay somewhere else.

rooms have a fridge and a microwave... but, they also have HORRIBLE Pillows, non-functioning Internet, and the person at the front desk was an unhelpful ass.

Yes, they're cheaper than most, but that's for a reason, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

The prices are amazing for what you get....except for the fact that my room came with a broken microwave..and the floor was flooded when I took a shower...and the toilet stopped working towards the end of my stay LUCKILY.  I want to say that it has been renovated and it looks nice, except for the functionality of everything.  Possibly, it could have been a fluke.

Best Best Western I have stayed in, in decades.  It's an older facility, but very very well maintained and updated.  Huge staff works hard, and they run a tight ship.  Pool is old school, in a good way, with a 8 1/2 ft. deep end.  Saltwater, no chlorine.  Grounds are groomed, with proud gardeners.  We normally stay at pricier hotels, but this is one cool time capsule.  We got a room on Priceline for under 60... Girl at desk was very friendly, and helpful.  All the freebies, and fridge is a good size.  The b'fast is the standard for these places... Great cable.

I stayed here for 4 days recently for a family event, and I have to say if your looking for a cheap place to stay and don't care about bugs, this place is for you. I found many roaches in my room, crawling in the bathroom, walls, and even in the middle of the night went to check my phone on my nightstand and yep, roaches!!!  My mother who was staying in another room, different building on the property also experienced roaches in her room. She contacted the management and asked if the rooms could be sprayed and they told her not a problem.. (this was the 2nd day of my stay). I didn't see anyone come by to spray the rooms, and didn't find any dead roaches, only live ones, so either they lied and never sprayed the room, or they weren't using the right stuff.

Also, this hotel is located right under a military airstrip and if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place. My 1st  two nights staying here, military aircraft was flying over (probably just a few hundred feet above the roof) and they were ear piercing loud jets, helecopters and propeller planes. This continued some nights untill around 10pm and was an all day event for my 1st 2 days of stay. The rest of the nights the runway was less active and it was much quieter.

Another thing, I don't know what kind of poor excuse for a comforter this place has, but basically the comforter is in a cover, and not attached properly. You will find in the middle of the night, the actual comforter will slide off the bed and you will only be covered by the comforter cover, and when you go to pull up the rest of the comforter that is lumped in the cover, its like a half filled sandbag that you are trying to warm up under... Not good!

One plus was the free breakfast which actually had a decent amount of food. Eggs, waffle maker, a few different juices, toast/bagles were offered for free every morning, and even though they tasted horrible, at least there was a free breakfast.

A few positives were things included with the room... The room had a good sized flat screen tv, a mini fridge, non smoking rooms which was nice, but pretty much standard now for most hotels so not a reason to give thumbs up.

Overall If I was driving through and needed a place to crash, and didn't care about bugs, then this place would be idea for a quick nightly stay, but I've been to many other hotels, even other best westerns, and experienced much cleaner environments.

Also a mentionable.... I did wake up with bites all over my legs and a few days later these bites were still visible. I wore a pair of shorts a few days later that I had slept in at the hotel, and felt constant crawling/biting sensation on my legs. Not sure if this was from the hotel, but with the lack of cleanlyness, I could almost bet that the place has bed bugs or no-see-ums. I also was not the only one in my family that had bites on them, and they stayed in different rooms.

Breakfast service is very bad. We were standing in a line for 30 minutes. Staff wasn't responding to our request. Never stay in that hotel.

If you want easy access to a waffle house and a pawn shop, this place is for you, but they do have free WiFi

If you have ever dreamed of sleeping on a runway then this is the closet you can get and still stay safe as the runway to an airport is located 100 yards and the planes fly over at all times. The lobby will welcome you to Savannah with a toxic smell that is unlike any other. The room is nice, the black mold in the bathroom is not. Every morning around 9am a man would walk by with a leaf blower and make sure the motel was clean though no observable trees with leaves are near the property. The motel architecture is the nice, all centered around a pool that's very charming, as is a nice shell gas station pawn shop and title shop all located within stones throw. A local at a dining establishment told us this hotel was the #2 hotel for prostitution in Savannah behind the Econolodge which is located right across the street. To the Best Westerns credit I never saw one so seemed pretty safe. The maid service was very nice and helpful. Overall not a nice hotel just but seems to be on the upturn.

For 70 bucks a night, this hotel is as good as its gonna get if you are on a tight budget, but yet do not want to compromise safety. It is 15 minutes away from downtown Savannah/ River Street and 30 minutes away from Tybee Island/ Fort Pulaski/ Beaches. It is around the business district so expect some traffic when you come out during rush hour time. Late in the evening, there are 3 24-hour food joint you can go to: Waffle House, The Diner (across the street) and ...  - Denny's - i think - ...

Don't rely much on the free breakfast as the only protein in there is boiled eggs. The rest is bagels, croissant, plain grits from a packet, yogurt, cereal, bananas- coffee and juice... nothing too exciting really ...

The room itself was quite decent. This is actually one of the rare occasions that a "non-smoking" room actually didnt even have a hint of stale cigarette. The room came with a fridge, microwave, and a blow dryer which are so essential for budget travelers like myself. The bathroom and the room in its entirety is clean. We didnt even get to use their TV, but it was your good ole flat screen- they did offer HBO. Check out was a breeze as all we needed to do was dial 0 from the room phone and tell them we are on our way out. Parking was easy, and they do have an outdoor pool - but then again, I am never into that stuff.

All in all, a really good deal. I recommend :)

I stayed here for one night and my this place wasn't so bad. I only paid $58 because I got an online deal from Expedia. It was clean and you get a free breakfast. The breakfast wasn't much though.. Like there weren't any sausages or scrambled eggs or anything. Just cereal, waffles... Plain stuff. The room had a microwave, large TV, &mini fridge though. Not bad for $58...

I also forgot to mention, this place is nearby EVERYTHING it seems like. Oglethorpe Mall, lots of stores, and restaurants too.

Comfortable beds, clean rooms. The best bet for an incredible price in Savannah. I always lodge there when I come and visit Savannah from Atlanta. Easy access to downtown, Tybee, Whole Foods... It is almost my second home. I buy blueberries and almond milk that I store in my room fridge so I can enhance the breakfast and make it more wholesome!

I had a different experience here than what is described in some of the other reviews.

I stayed here two nights and had no complaints.  The room and facility was clean and well maintained.  There was no evidence of any bugs or any kind of infestation as is mentioned in some other reviews.  The room was quiet and comfortable and I had no problems sleeping.  I did not once hear any airplanes from the nearby air force base.  The free wifi, by the way, was excellent with a very strong signal in my room.

This is a motel style property where the parking is right next to the rooms and the rooms open up directly to the outside.  There are two floors.  If you are concerned about staying in a hotel with rooms that open directly to the outside, this isn't the place for you.  However, I did not see that the area was sketchy or gave me any concern.

The prices here are much lower than what you would pay in downtown Savannah, and yet the motel is an easy six mile or so drive into the city down Abercorn St.

I actually liked the area it was in because there was ample shopping opportunities nearby.  There were several large shopping centers with Publix, Kroger, and Fresh Market nearby.  The rooms in the hotel come with a refrigerator and microwave, so if you're on a budget you can get food in these markets to supplement your dining out.  The rooms also have coffee makers in them, so no need to run off early in the morning to a Starbucks or other coffee place.  There are also numerous dining choices in the immediate vicinity if you want to eat out without going into the city.  The dining choices in the area are more in the line of the chain restaurant.

There are also some other similar type hotels in the area.  I would really recommend this motel or this area if you are trying to save money on hotels.  It's a little bit out of the city, but not so much that you feel you're spending too much time driving during your holiday.

When I go to a hotel I have pretty basic expectations. Reasonable price, no roaches, and no hookers. At least no visible crimes occurring. This BW was a very reasonable price. They also offered a military discount.

The beds were very comfortable. They actually had non-smoking. It was very quiet, checkout and check in was very simple.

A lot of people complained about airplane noise. Seriously? You're in a city. I live by an airport and Langley Air Force base. Imagine the noise I incur daily. This place was a lot nicer looking than the La Quinta Inn down the street. I would stay again.

One of the cleanest and best maintained BW we've seen.  Although when I called to confirm the clerk I reached was curt and impatient, the desk staff were all helpful and friendly during our stay. Compact economy rooms but comfortable with effective maid service and the hot water was fast and plentiful.

It's not a beautiful area and it's a 15-20 minute drive to the historic district but the price was right. It's worth staying at --- saving your money for the pricey restaurants and tours.

There's a good cheap diner across the street-- better than the motel's bare bones breakfast. There's a great restaurant not too far -- the Sweet Potato Kitchen-- inexpensive and superb.

One of the biggest features of Savannah is the HUGE amount of pawn shops everywhere. It's a sign, I guess, of persistent poverty.

Horrible service. The front desk staff hung up on my grandparents when they called for directions and said "What, haven't you ever stayed in a hotel?" when she couldn't find their online booking.

When my father and mother called to speak to management the same girl hung up on THEM. She proceeded to make my 70-something grandparents leave the hotel because they had their reservation "didn't exist" and "wasn't paid for," even after my father faxed her a copy of the confirmation AND even sent the credit card a second time.

Management supposedly won't be in until
tomorrow, and now my elderly grandparents, who have been driving for 12+ hours today have no place to stay. Absolutely mortifying.

we were very put off when we arrived to check in, because the hotel clerk said she did not see our request for an ADA or first floor room.  i checked my reservation request and it was clearly there. this was the very first time something like this happened at a best western, or anywhere, for that matter.

other than that, a nice property. breakfast selection was very good. the towels need replacing...everything else was very good.

they said they would email me a receipt...we checked out april 22, we're still waiting.

Dated but in great shape, beds and room comfy. The breakfast was good for hotel fare with a delightful southern belle operating the ding area.
Easy to find location and for driving around.
Shuttle to all the tours was great, saved a lot of leg work on cobbled streets.
As retired Navy man I enjoyed the Army choppers roaring back to base next door, Fort Stewart, home of the 3rd Army. I love seeing my tax dollars at work.

Hoo yah! ( that's Navy for Hooah!)
