I had a great stay! It has a fantastic breakfast. Yeah, not really the historic district, but it's cheap!

Historic district, my ass. This place is across MLK from the historic district, tucked under a bridge, and offers a scenic view of a sand-filled, trashy lot. Although we had a reservation and check-in time was 3pm, our room was not ready when we showed up at 5:30 (after a 5-hour drive from north of ATL). The lobby reeks of chlorine from the inside pool, and the elevators were covered in pool water where some a-hole had not dried his feet. When we got to the room, we discovered the toilet seat was broken and the Internet access was down. I had pre-paid my room for two nights, but was happy to eat the money and move down the street to the Bohemian. Unless you're visiting SCAD, there's no reason to stay at this dump. Spend an extra $100 per night and stay in a real historic-district hotel.

Considering this was only pet-friendly, or more specifically PARROT-friendly, in the area, it wasn't too shabby. Yes, there is a pretty sketching housing project right across the street. When we pulled up it was swarming with cops. But, none of that wasn't an issue. Room was a bit older but reasonably clean. Older a/c unit smelled a little damp when put on fan mode. Complimentary breakfast was mediocre, there was a choice of hot and cold items. Front desk staff was very very nice.

It's not really "in" the Historic District, but for the price you pay, it's close enough. It's actually right across from the government housing projects, and we were told not to walk around there late at night. However, we were able to grab a taxi and pay a small fee to get downtown.

The room itself was clean and pretty quiet. The continental breakfast was good, but get there early if you want a waffle. The reception staff was not mean, but not nice. They seemed to be concentrating on other things, and they weren't exactly "attentive."

I prefer my lodging with FAIR AND BALANCED media choices! Asked for Communist News Network to be changed, answer was NYET! Nothing should breakfast like Van Jones bloviating about Ferguson.

If I could give zero stars I would. This hotel is a SCAM! We travelled to Savannah for a nice Christmas getaway expecting great things. This Comfort Suites and it's general manager, Ron Jean, were extremely rude. We were charged almost $600 for a 2 night stay, which we were originally charged $245 for that stay. While speaking to the general manager, we were not given a proper explanation as to why we received an extra $350 charge. Do not stay here!!! IT IS A SCAM AND THEY WILL CHARGE YOU EXTRA WITHOUT TELLING YOU! Please tell your friends and family.

Some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on.  And they give you 4 pillows per bed which is really nice. They have a indoor pool and jacuzzi (I didn't get to experience this because it closes at 10pm and we stayed out late) but the breakfast was really good. Better than most other hotels, and the staff is very friendly.  They have a free shuttle that will take you to the historic district, anywhere you want. And they will come and pick you up from any where in that area for free... as long as it's not after 11pm... and it's not St Patrick's day.  They said it doesn't run during that time because all the roads are blocked off. But this will be my go to hotel whenever j go back to savannah.

For a family vacation and our first time in Savannah we asked for a room for 4 with a king bed. The beds were comfortable, though sheets for our pull out bed were not provided in the room. I had to call the front desk and they said they would bring them to us, but they didn't so we went to the front desk to get them. The pull out bed was a twin. Good news is our kids are still little and we were able to use the chaise portion of the sofa for our 3 year old. But we did only receive sheets and a pillow for one. Good thing I brought a pillow on our trip.

The pool was closed the morning we left for cleaning but no one was in there cleaning. My kids could have gone swimming for 20 minutes or more and they would have been tired out before anyone came to clean.

The shuttle service is fabulous!! However, the hotel needs to provide the driver with a gps and tell them not to smoke anywhere near the van or at all while on duty. The van smells horribly of smoke.

The location is close, but feels a bit sketchy despite being in the historic district limits. It was safe though. Just wish the room we were in had a view of the bridge at least.

Otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful and for the one night, we slept well.

This place isn't bad at all, especially for the price. As others have said, it's really a stretch to call this in the Historic District but to be honest, it does border it. And we were able to walk to all of downtown Savannah attractions from here within 5-10 minutes! So unless you are someone who wants all that immediately outside your front door, this place should suffice. It did for us! We were on River Street in 5 minutes walking time.

The front desk staff was super friendly. Loved that. The room itself was better than I expected. It was clean, modern and had what I'm guessing are 12 foot ceilings giving the room a significantly more spacious feel. It wasn't your typical beat up furniture, bad tv, bad bathroom... Actually is was quite good.

If you are capable of walking a few blocks you would do well to consider this place. It's a great value too!!!

The price is good, there is a free shuttle to anywhere you want in the historic district. We never used it to pick up, just always walked back.  It's 5min walk tops from the river front.  The pool and hot tub were nice and clean.
Just don't expect much from breakfast.  The bread items are stale, the eggs are made from powder and the sausage are gross. We stayed here planing to have breakfast taken care of each day but that's not the case.  Also our room smelled like dog.  We are dog lovers and don't want to discourage hotels from accepting dogs but fabrez would help.
But the beds were comfrey
