Unbelieveable! We try to be economical when we travel, as we spend little time in our room....only sleep, bathe and watch a little tv. We called several hours before arrival to assure the reservation, and were told that they would be full and would "try" to get us the ground floor room we had booked. When we arrived, the room was so dated, and downright dirty. I can overlook rundown, but this was rust in the bathroom, torn carpet, broken trim and the air duct was spewing dust onto the "clean" towels. When I tried to take a bath, there was no plug. I called the desk, and was told that they would try to find one. I called an hour later and was told that they didn't find one, and the phone wasn't working.When I complained to the manager at the end of our stay, he said that we should have told them early and they would have moved us or refunded, although there were no available rooms, and other hotels were booked. He kept stating that the beds were new and the tv was new, as though that condoned the filth in the room. He finally said that he would refund 10%.
Really? The last time I had an issue with a hotel....they gave our room away and we had to wait and then take an upstairs room...we were comped the highest priced night, so 20 some odd dollars is a joke. But then, so was this room. The biggest joke was when the manager stated that the room WAS bad, but they would fix it and it would be better the next time we came. HAHAHAHAHA! Don't hold your breath!

I was here in Savannah for the inaugural Rock and Roll Savannah Marathon. I chose this hotel because it was in close (relatively) proximity to the finish line at Forsythe Park. The property had decent rates at $79/night, as opposed to the other surrounding properties that were offering over $99/night. As a budget traveler and being a marathoner, I am minded about prices when I travel to run races. Quality and cleanliness in the room is what I look for too. Defintiely a keeper and hope to return again soon.
This Quality Inn is located in midtown Savannah, which was pretty good to the area's shopping, dining, and other city amenities on Abercorn Street. Quality Inn in Savannah has all this, I am pleased to say. It's about a 30 minute drive to the Savannah airport. The check in process is fast and quick and the hotel has private, free parking for its guests. The room was clean and smoke free. Everything was working, so my stay was pleasant. Only thing was that the ice maker was either broken or they didn't refill the thing with ice when I wanted ice. No biggie. I'm not sure if this place has wifi, although it wasn't a concern for me at the time.
I stayed here for one night, which was good enough. I booked this place via Orbitz and I think I enjoyed my stay here. The property was on Abercorn Street, which seemed to be the main thoroughfare for Savannah. The room was clean of course and the double beds were comfortable. I shared with a friend of mine from Los Angeles on this trip, so I saved a bunch of money here. Can't complain though. Overall, this place is as cozy as you can get. Don't expect lavish conditions though. It's almost a 2 1/2 star property. As long as you're safe and secure, that's all that matters. Overall, this Quality Inn stands up to their name as far as excellence to detail and customer service.

I stayed here June 6th 2013.
I drove down to South Beach FL from Northern Virginia on a straight shot... ON the way back we decided to break the trip up into 2... I wasn't up for doing a straight shot home. So from Key West we decided to stop here at quality inn (exactly half way for us home). All we needed was a pit stop for poop, pee, shower and a quick nap.
The hotel was found on expedia on those mystery deals... total we paid 57 bucks... regular rate was 59... expedia rated the hotel a 3 star... not so much. For 57 dollars i dont expect much.. we just did a 2 night stay at the Tides in south beach so we weren't expecting the same quality.
Our ETA to the hotel was 3 am we called ahead and the front desk said they would check us in before 12 Am.
From the outside i didn't expect much and was actually expecting the worst...
I just did a walk through to do a quick visual inspection... bathtub had a cochroach in it. I now understood why they call these places roach motels. I spent 12 months in afghanistan so im used to sleeping in the dirt and bugs on top of mountains, but i dont want to expect that in America.
Still didn't call to complain... just ran the shower as hot as possible flushed the sucker down... When i showered i laid a towel down on the bath tub as i was too lazy to get sandals from the car.
The carpet is super grimey if you plan to walk barefoot on it... so we laid down the top sheets from the bed on the floor.. the cover blanket had cigarette burns on them.
The shower wall... had long strands of hair stuck on the tile... i am familiar with this... the girls strategy of hanging loose hair on the shower walls to terrify men... but... neither of us took a shower yet so it belonged to someone else.
Anyways this is when i started freaking out and started going on the bed bug search... The good thing is no bed bugs.
The only reason i gave it two starts is that the front desk are super kind and accomodating. We left at 1120 and were about 40 minutes away when we realized we left an ipad mini on the nightstand. I called the front desk and told them... we arrived and they had it waiting at the lobby. Super awesome.
The people made the 2 stars... the rooms... make it a 1 star. Im not sure if these hotels can be independently owned or are all corporate run... but it needs updating... and serious training for housekeeping staff for attention to detail.

Stayed here for 3 nights on business. Was a little apprehensive at first. The hotel is not much to look at from the outside and the security guard on duty did not help in the appearance department. The staff was friendly however and the room was surprisingly large and clean. Amenities included a king size bed, 2 oversized nightstands, a desk, a chest of drawers, a chair with ottonan, a refrigerator, a microwave a blow dryer, an iron and a coffee maker. What was really nice, and sealed the deal for me, what's a power strip mounted to the wall between the bed and one of the night stands allowing for 5 devices to be plugged in. Extra plugs were also found throughout the room which makes for a nice change. The shower was a bit small but did offer a multi speed shower head, mine was stuck in a single position however. Water pressure was adequate. The property does feature a hot breakfast which left me wanting. It consisted primarily of bacon and eggs. Would have liked to have seen sausage, maybe some biscuits and gravy. Other items also available for breakfast where your usual cold fair, serial, bread, pastries, and of course waffles. This property did take CLC, corporate lodging, without requiring a previous reservation or asking for an additional credit card to put on file. That is always a plus for me. All in all, the room was quiet for the most part, could not hear others above me. The property also features an on-site nightclub of which I did not partake. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Savannah.

Room very smoky ....it was the last room left even though I booked a month ahead. Next thing club in hotel and guest where my room located. Yep right next to club. Only thing beautiful about this room was 40in tv. Will not stay again.

Bad experience. Requested a nonsmoking room at check in. Upon entering the room there is very strong chemical smell. All you can smell is this chemical. I drop off my luggage and go grab some dinner. When the air comes on the room smells very strongly of cigarette smoke. Now all of my clothes for the week smell like smoke. When I approached the front desk about it "shit don't tell me that!". Maybe they could say "I'm sorry" next time? Will not return.
Hotel is an outdoor entry motel style. The pictures on my booking website did not show this as they carefully avoided this in their selections.

Poor security - Beware!
First of all, I really hate to give bad reviews, but in this case, customers should be aware of problems with this hotel. The problem was one we had never encountered before on our many stays with Choice Hotels. We stayed 2 nights and utilized the "do not disturb" or "no service today" placard on our door while we were away from the room. Despite that, while we were away, the manager opened our room and allowed a 3rd party contractor (carpet cleaner) to enter our room. When we returned, things had been moved and we notified the front desk immediately. We were told that the manager allowed the carpet folks in because they were scheduled to clean rooms that day. I asked why Quality Inn did not even tell us of this prior to the entry, and the manager, Hershal, didn't have an answer for that. There were no customer service forms (comment forms for reporting problems) in the room or at the front desk (I asked). We were missing a few things at the end of the trip, but I have no way of telling if those things were missing as the result of Quality Inn's unethical treatment of paying guests at their Savannah midtown motel.
As Choice Hotels recommends, I notified the front desk immediately upon discovering the problem. That did not resolve the problem and in fact, the manager, who promised to speak with me again the next morning, never showed up to speak with me face to face. Unethical and unacceptable.

I purchased a vacation package through Orbitz and reviewed many hotels before deciding on the Quality Inn. First things first this is like an updated Motel six, do not arrive here thinking you will be catered too. There is no room service, housekeeping is basically them knocking at your door around 10 or you catching them out during their rounds and requesting your room to be cleaned.
I got the impression this particular motel is used mostly by truck drivers as we saw a lot of big rigs at night when we'd come in from a day of sightseeing. The room was clean, the fridge, blow dyer, and coffee pot worked, we had hot & cold running water and two fairly comfortable beds to sleep on. it's not flashy its livable and perfect for someone who needs a place to rest their head after a day of travel. We felt safe, the staff were pleasant.
My tip would be that if you plan to spend most of your time in the Historic part of Savannah you will probably want to use the money you think you are saving on a Hotel closer to that vicinity. Because any money you just saved will go toward parking a rental in a private lot. I think I figured I spent about $65 parking in the 4 days I was there that $65 could've gone toward a hotel within walking distance of where I was going to be most of my visit.
I want to conclude I did have a nice stay at the Quality inn, it served its purpose well.
