Stayed here while planning our wedding...the rooms were spotless and the beds were comfortable with a high thread linen count.  The hot breakfast was clean and appetizing.  We loved it so much that we picked it out as out hotel location for our lovely day.

My husband made a reservation at Springhill Suites in Savannah, Ga for my kids. They were visiting me as a surprise from Atlanta post my surgery.  Everything was fine until my kids went to check into the hotel. My husband made the reservation and he put the reservation in my son's name so that he could show identification to the hotel if needed. When my kids arrived at the hotel to check in, Springhill Suites management who was not working at the time, but was talking to the clerk over the phone refused to let them check in until my husband physically come to pay with a credit card. The kids were tired from driving from Atlanta to SC and then to Savannah and having a long day. They just wanted to check in and get some rest, but they were not allowed to. They did not want to get their dad out of the bed to come to the hotel, but their cash was refused and they were not allowed to check in.WHY WAS SERVICE REFUSED TO MY KIDS! by this hotel. My kids sat in the lobby and waited until my husband physically came to the hotel to swipe his credit card for a room that was already paid for just like the pervious stay. The clerk told my husband that his credit card would have been charged  anyway if we cancelled the stay and even if he had not come into the hotel.

My kids felt humiliated by this hotel and my post surgery surprises was marred by the attitude of the management of this hotel and staff.

Early the next day I personally called to complain to the manager who already knew about the incident because the clerk was getting supervision from her and was told what to do.The manager also made the statement to me that my kids cash probably was refused service because they probably did not have enough money to pay for the room. She also argued that everyone should have a credit card. WOW! I could not believe what I was hearing. No apology from this big company; just assumptions

I complain all the way to Marriott's Corporate Office several times and as of today 8/24/13 we have no heard back from the Corporate at all. Why were my kids refused service by this hotel chain. This incident occurred 7/31/13, and we are still waiting on the reason. I called another Springhill Suites in Savannah, GA concerning their cash policy and the clerk told me that the hotel just add $50 deposit to the total and the deposit is given back at checkout. A simple solution has turned into horrible situation by a manager who has lack of training or who just don't care about the people paying her salary.

My kids stayed at this same hotel during the Thanksgiving holiday last year, 2012. My husband made the reservation, the reservation was out in my son's name, no deposit was made, his credit card was harged and we had no problems. What happened on 7/31/13 Springhill Suites Marriott? Marriott, we are still waiting on an answer to why you refused to give my kids a room at your hotel.

Had my son and daughter in law stay here.Paid for it ahead of time with my credit card. They were refused the room until they swiped my card. They offered to pay a cash deposit but were still refused. I had to get out of bed to let them swipe my card. If we had not shown up the hotel told me my card would have been charged anyway. But the real kicker is nether the hotel nor the Corporate company has made any attempt to contact me.  Marriott I only hope you read this, because I believe this is a one off situation and not a profiling issue!.

Good staff.  Ice machine had bugs and leaves in the ice!  On different days!

As a very frequent Marriott rewards member and business traveler, I have to say that I have experienced a lot of Marriott properties all over the country.  This one definitely falls short of my expectations.

The Good--price at @ $79.00 for AAA rate on a weekday.

The Bad-- Super slow Internet, bad location, funky smell in my room when I first came in, dirty carpets in elevator and hallway, condition of carpet in my room, static on half the cable TV channels, very dated look, worn and scratched furniture...

I will look for another place to stay next time in town.

Stopped in on the way to Fort Myers Beach for a one night stay. The rooms, and pool were clean, well maintained, and the staff was very friendly. I had no issues at all. There was a lady from NYC that complained about everything including the coffee at the free continental breakfast. She claimed it was cold but i was right in line behind her and it was plenty hot. I guess some people are never satisfied. I guess she thought it was the Ritz! If you want a 5 star hotel for vacationing this is not the place for you. If you need to stay at a clean hotel at a reasonable price for a few days this is the place to stop.
BTW stayed there on the way home and had service as good as before.

They just need to shut this down and start all over.  Probably the worst SHS I've ever stayed. Poor execution on upgrades. Really felt and looked low class. Toaster didn't work. Towels were thin and cheap. They didn't put my bill under my door so had to do that before I checked out. The friendly lady that checked me in gave this place the one star. Will not stay here again.

Is zero stars not an option?? When we arrived no one offered to help us with our bags or anything! Our front desk lady was less than friendly and when we got to our room the smell of mildew knocked you down as you entered the room! We tried to switch rooms but conveniently no other rooms were available! Some sketchy maintenance guy came and drenched the room in frebreeze! Can we say gross!!?? We were from out of town for a bachelorette party so we had to make the best of it! The hot tub was broken, the breakfast was gross, and it was like pulling teeth to get any clean towels or wash clothes! There was a very large water spot on the ceiling that had tripled in size by the next morning! We are now all sick! (Go figure) Very disappointed! I suggest that no one stays here! We would definitely not have if we had known how sketchy and gross this place was!! Yuck! Stay at your own risk!!!

Okay the hotel is located in the worst location available. The sign sits low behind trees and if you dont know exactly where it is located you will likely drive past it. This will of course result in driving a block and a half, making a U turn, driving 3 blocks making another U turn and finally arriving at the hotel. If you intend to see anything to the left of the hotel, you will be making guess what...another U turn. The staff was very friendly,  however the rooms were not. They had advertised free wifi but during the week of my stay the wifi did not work. When housekeeping came in generally they are supposed to change the linens. Not the case I accidentally spilled a little red wine on the sheets and after notifying the front desk they said not to worry that they would be changed the following morning. Before I checked out the morning I left I returned to the room to find that the red wine stained sheets were still on the bed and had been remade. Um, okay so the next customer comes in and sleeps on my sheets so whose sheets was I sleeping on. That is unaccetable by all standards. Not to mention unhygienic. The continental breakfast in the morning was nice, it offered a wide array of food from muffins and bagels, to cereal and oatmeal. Including a hot plate of either bacon and eggs, or potatoes and meat. The pool was clean largely due to the 50/50 ratio of water to chlorine I think, the hot tub was down for maintenance, but in the 4 nights that I stayed at the hotel, no one worked on it at all. The weightroom offered very few options for working out. I will not stay at this location again. For the price I paid and being a frequent Marriott guest this was largely pathetic to say the least. Not the worst hotel I have stayed in, but not even close to the Marriott standards that I am accustomed to.

Average hotel which is good enough for me for the price. It is around 35-40 mins from Tybee island and to downtown Savannah is close to 20 mins depending on traffic. Great Sushi place in walking distance and plenty of grocery stores and gas stations around.

I don't understand all of the bad ratings. The hotel is on a row of two other hotels. Room is nice, bed is quite comfortable and like any other hotel now a flat screen that swivels.
Breakfast this morning was eh..cereal, pastries, fresh waffles, oatmeal, scrambled eggs and potatoes.
Yes, you need to make a u-turn to get to the hotel, but it's not a big deal since the traffic is minimal.
Overall, it's a nice hotel, if I'm in the area again,I would stay here again.

Was really pleased with quality of this hotel, especially after reading very scary reviews for other hotels in the area.

The room was comfortable and large, and the beds were really soft. I was very happy with how clean the room was, plenty of towels and extra pillow/blanket for the third member of my party staying on the sofa bed - we did appreciate the swivel TV.

Check in was quick - they were sold out, and Jasmine at the front desk was juggling phone calls, questions from another guest and checking me in - she was polite and handled everything very well. Despite being fully booked, the hotel was very quiet. On the way to my room I saw an indoor pool that looked nice, and a fitness center. I didn't get a chance to use either, but maybe next time...

On the way out the next morning they had the standard (Free!) hotel buffet fare, and I'm a fan because I like being able to grab pastry and a coffee on the way out and not have to stop at a fast food kind of place. But, this hotel is set off from a main road, and there are a lot of dining and shopping options.

Not sure how I could have been happier with the stay, and I would return to this hotel or recommend it to others. A+!

Also, Wi-Fi was free and easy to connect to, and I thought the speed was very good. Rooms included fridge and microwave, always a plus!

The hotel was very comfortable.  Excellent room sizes, very quiet and a friendly staff.  I enjoyed the convenience to downtown and all of the amenities nearby like restaurants and entertainment.  Will definitely be staying here again.

My room was very comfortable, with all the amenities one could reasonably ask for. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about Savannah, and the location was a convenient drive to downtown. Overall, very happy with my stay.

    Enjoyed my stay.

Great relaxing Savannah hotel.  Very clean rooms with great sheets.  Very close to the interstate and just a short trip downtown.  Very happy with everything.

The good: comfy bed, decent tv, non-tiny bathroom, reasonable price

The bad: useless cleaning person (apparently spilled water in our room and didn't seem to actually clean anything), slow front desk service, cold hallways (must be unheated), inconvenient location.

Verdict: I'll probably stay somewhere else next time.

The Spring Hill Suites in Savannah is an awesome place to stay. I was located just a quick 10 minute drive from the downtown historic district, which was a lot of fun walking around. The location of this hotel was great, I could walk to several bars and restaurants from the parking lot, and there is a drugstore right across the street if you forgot anything.

I can only imagine they get a good deal of tourism traffic here, so they're well prepared. The lady at the front desk checked me right in and was extremely nice and helpful pointing out several places I should visit during my stay.

There was some renovation going on on one of the sides, and I don't know what these guys know differently from most hotels that are renovating, but I couldn't' even tell. They were so quiet and blocked off the area so cleanly, I actually didn't even realize there was construction going on.

Breakfast in the morning was better than many. There was an assortment of not those little prepackaged pastries but the full-sized bagels and croissants and hot eggs and sausage.

The room was great, and the reason I'm really even writing this review is because the bed was amazing. It was soft as hell. I slept really well. I travel a lot for work, stay at a lot of hotels, often nice ones, sometimes terrible ones, but seriously, this bed was the perfect combo of soft and firm.

I had a really wonderful time in this city, and can't wait to come back and visit. I'll definitely use the Springhill when I come back.
