We stayed one night in mid October.  The rooms are clean, but the desk clerk and owners are very rude.  its ok for a quick nights sleep, but not anything more.

Made a reservation with this hotel over the phone and gave a credit card number to hold the room.  Had a family emergency and called to cancel, no anwer at the front desk.  Called for two days to try to cancel, no answer.  Finally sent an email to cancel which got a quick call back telling me they were going to charge my card anyway.  Rude person on the phone.  Do not stay here and DO NOT give them any credit card information.

Great overnight experience. Friendly service, above average rooms and a great complimentary continental breakfast.

Definitely the nicest Super 8 I've ever stayed in and even one of the nicest hotels period. High-quality bedding. Clean, bright bathrooms. Spacious room. An overall great value! Book it!! You will not be disappointed.

Super clean room! My husband and I were looking for a inexpensive motel to spend the night. I was hesitant to stay here until I saw how well the facility looked and how friendly the staff is. Very nice! Best part is that the entire facility is smoke free. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stopped back by here on our way back home to Florida. We got a King size bed and oh it was so comfy! The linens were so luxurious and the whole room was fresh and sparkling clean. The only thing I didn't like was that breakfast ended at 9 and we got in so late that we weren't even awake by that time. I would encourage them to extend breakfast til 10, but that is my only suggestion. There was lots of parking, it was right off of the highway, easy to find. The staff was so nice and friendly, I would stay there again, no doubt.

I almost killed my boyfriend! But I didn't, b/c this hotel is great and pet-friendly!

Did that get your attention? What I mean is, I almost killed him for making a reservation here for the halfway point of our trip back from Fort Lauderdale to Raleigh. However, he lives on peacefully as I was pleasantly surprised by this wonderful highway hotel.

At first I was afraid, I was petrified. I guess I have a preconceived notion of what a Super 8 hotel (motel?) is like and while that may be true of many other Super 8 properties, this one is outstanding in many ways. We pulled in late, around 10:45pm, but had no difficulties checking in smoothly. Although we had a reservation for a king-size, pet-friendly room (pets are usually only allowed on the first floor), we were kindly given the choice of a queen on the 1st or king on the 2nd. We took the king and the room was just 2 doors down from the elevator. (Yes, the front desk person on duty was a wee bit hard to understand b/c English doesn't seem to be his first language. We got by just fine though.) The lobby was clean and it was clear where breakfast (served 6am-9am?) would be served the next morning. I never saw breakfast because I had a cold and slept in but BF said it was pretty good and they even had waffles (he didn't bring me one!). So they offered more than the average continental breakfast fare.

Our room was huge for the price paid. Based on other reviews, I think this is standard. It looks like there has been a recent renovation because the decor has been updated to conventionally accepted hotel norms. There is a sitting area with a love seat and oversized stuff chair. The only complaint I can make is that the cushions were stained and so was the carpet. Oh, and the bathroom only had a half-filled travel size shampoo, not conditioner. Not sure if it was leftover from a previous guest or what. The bathroom was very modern though, with granite counter and large shower.  The bed was very comfortable, especially considering we were weary travelers. There was a flat screen TV, cable and HBO might be the only premium channel. No worries, as we were ready to hit the hay and get on our way. Also, there is a thermostat, instead of a unit by the window.  Made the temperature in the room much more comfortable.

The next morning, check-out was at 11am.  When I brought my McDonald's back to eat at 10:15am, we let the front desk know that our remote wasn't working and we'd like to get it fixed. At first the lady was confused b/c we only had 45 minutes left but then she sent someone to fix the problem, which had something to do with the box near the tv.

This Super 8 is located right off the exit and downtown Savannah is just about 15-20 minutes away, either by taking the exit road east or getting back on the highway going north and taking the next exit. Very convenient.

    TIPS:
-For Savannah attractions, call ahead to make sure the ones you want to visit are open. I overheard a museum employee say another museum was closed for the month of January for a deep cleaning.
-While pet-friendly, the hotel will not allow you to leave your pets unattended if you are planning a quick jaunt into Savannah, or at least that is what the sign said. We did leave my two dogs in the bathroom when we went over to get me breakfast at McDonald's.
-DON'T GO INSIDE AT THE MCDONALD'S nearby. It takes forever. Go through the drive thru.

This is our place when traveling up north.  We stayed here with our 16 month old and pit bull terrier.  The room was clean and the bed was nice.  The price was right and the staff was friendly.  We stayed at other more expensive places and were disgusted by the room (roaches, black feet, etc).  This place has their stuff together.  Never would have checked out a Super 8 if it was not for yelp.  This is obviously not a 5 star hotel, but I was so relieved by the quality, I gave it 5 stars.

I booked a room for my mother and I after seeing that out of all the hotels in the Savannah area, this Super Eight was ranked #11 out of over 100 hotels on Trip Advisor. Mind you, I had my doubts because Super Eight isn't exactly considered "upscale" by any means. The last one I stayed at was something out of a Wes Craven movie. But we were on a budget and most of the reviews were positive so I took the plunge.

This hotel is right off I-95 and a good 20-30 minutes from the historic district, depending on how you drive it. That alone was the main drawback, which is not a fault of the hotel itself. There are a few restaurants around (Shoney's, Hooters, McDonald's, Hardee's). Houlihan's is the one we went to the most and it was very good.

The young man who checked us in was nice, I think he was the owner's son. Our room was on the second floor next to the elevator, which gave me some concern for noise issues but there were none. The hotel is fairly small with only three floors but the rooms are, in my opinion, huge.

Our room had two very comfortable queen beds with high-quality bedding, on par or better with a Hampton Inn. No funky smells. The bathroom was spotless with a granite counter. The decor was very up to date. Flat screen TV was very nice. A microwave and microfridge were clean and worked fine. I was impressed that instead of the usual air conditioner controlled by a knob, each room has a thermostat so you can set the temp to whatever you like. No waking up to a frozen or sweltering room in the middle of the night.

Breakfast is provided and leans heavily on the carbs. Toast, bagels, English muffins, danish, instant oatmeal, three kinds of cereal are available. Bananas and apples were the only fruit. They did have a nice make-your-own waffle station. Some yogurt would have been a good addition. But considering how low the rates are, it's not bad.

We were not in our room a lot during our stay because we went into Savannah for most of the day. But when we were there, it was remarkably quiet. My only criticisms are that the bath towels were on the small side and they only provided three per day. For two women, that's not a lot but we could have asked for more.

I'm not sure why the previous reviewer thought the owner and staff were rude. The owner checked us out before we left and was very nice to us, as were the rest of the staff we encountered. We were treated well.

If you want to be close to the action in the historic area, you might want to consider booking a hotel closer in. But if you are on a tight budget and don't mind a little driving, the Super Eight is perfect. You definitely get your money's worth and more.

This Motel is a true gem! the hotel staff is very nice and helpful and the rooms are super clean and very spacious! the only downside to my stay was the breakfast... yes it did have a waffle bar but you were left with two kinds of juice, two kinds of toast and two kinds of cereal, and just bananas for fruit. only grape jelly and butter... the juice was weird too... but overall a great motel and when i return to savannah i will def be staying here!

Great place to stop. Clean, comfortable rooms. Right off highway. Close to lots of restaurants, gas stations, etc. Breakfast was very good. I definitely recommend.

Super affordable and clean. The best place to stay if you just want to explore the historical District and don't want to splurge on hotel fare. The room comes with a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker . You can get a great deal on a room for 50ish dollars. They don't supply hair conditioner but it wasn't a vital need. I have no complaints since the place was very clean, looked new, and cost little.

I have to revisit this review and lower it by one star because after I returned home, I discovered a double charge. I booked and paid for the room online. I supplied my CC at check in only for incidentals. I got no receipt under my door in the morning. After reviewing my statement I saw the hotel charged me for the night even though I had already paid for the night online. I had to call, speak to a couple of people, and wait for a call back. The hotel refunded the full amount the next day. I know mistakes happen, so the hotel still gets 3 stars, but be warned ... check your charges.

I was moving from PA to FL and needed an inexpensive, but decent place to stay about midway between. I looked up reviews on Trip Advisor and found this Super 8. I was a little hesitant at first because I'd never stayed at a Super 8 before -- I thought they were cheap motels. I was delightfully wrong!

I checked in a little after midnight and went up to my room. The check in process was smooth, the staff were friendly and the room was immaculate! Oh, and the WIFI? It was SUPER fast and very consistent. That's something that I can't say about some expensive places I've stayed! The following morning I got up for breakfast--had a cup of apple juice, muffin and some toasted waffles. Sure, there's more to be desired from breakfast, but let's be honest: I was there to get a few hours of sleep, not have an extensive breakfast. For the price I paid, if I were in the area again, I would DEFINITELY come back!

    Great job, Super 8!

Stayed here last week for  4 days.  The room I was in had one queen size bed, sofa and coffee table along with a desk.  Room was large, furnishings looked clean.  The evening desk clerk  told me that the property was about 2 years old, which showed since the corridor walls were clean and the carpet looked to be in good shape.  Bed was comfortable.   I have no comment on the breakfast at the Super 8, since the conference I was in town for had breakfast for attendees.  My conference was in Downtown, so I had about a 15 minute drive in the morning, which to me was no big deal.  I interacted only with the same evening desk clerk and the overnight clerk on my stay.  They were both friendly and helpful enough.  Definitely recommend this place for people looking for a clean room at a reasonable price.  Oh yeah, there is free wifi for guests, which I used, it was an okay broadband speed.

I scouted this hotel out on Yelp before booking. The reviews were very good. Thought maybe exaggerated a bit. We all have stayed at these discount hotels to just get a nights sleep and pray for not bugs, mildew, stink (of any kind) and have most often been disappointed. This Super8 stands well above any discount hotel I have ever stayed at. Easy access from I95. Very large modern room, well appointed, but most important very clean with a super comfy bed, a large bathroom with tub/shower. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting exceptional value in a reasonably priced hotel.
PS. If you need a nice meal when you arrive, try Hoolihans across the main drag from the hotel. Super service and fab food. Want to review them as we'll but can't locate this one in yelp. Might be a new local for Hoolihans.
    Cheers

I honestly do not know how this hotel has gotten so many high ratings, but....this one, will DEFINITELY not be.

My best friend and I stayed there last night, as we needed a place to stay during our little road trip.  We were greeted by a friendly man, named Prakash Patel.  Our room assignment was 308....if you EVER get this room, CHANGE!!

My friend and I walked in (rooms looked very nice)....minus, the blood red stains on the floor between the bed and the wall.  there were two dried puddles of the unsettling colors.  We told ourselves it could be Kool-Aid and prepared for bed.

My friend went to sleep and I read a little of my book.  After several minutes, my underarm really started to itch.  All of a sudden, I caught something out of the corner of my eye....a HUGE bedbug!!  I jumped up out of bed and ran to get toilet paper to flush him...only to find an even BIGGER one on my pillow!!  When I killed this bedbug, he popped....as he already fed off me....off my underarm that now itched, thanks to him.

I monitored my friend's bed for a bit, not wanting to wake her, and did not observe any creepy-crawlies on her bed.  I took my other pillow, observed it, and then placed it on the floor near the door.  As I shone my flashlight on the floorboards to look for bedbugs, I saw dried brownish red splatters near the baseboard on the floor.  I wouldn't have thught anything of it, had I not seen the puddle earlier.

Next morning, my friend and I woke up, RIDDLED in a rash.  When I brought the bedbugs to Prakash to let him know he had them in his room, he didn't even let me finish my sentence!!  He cut me off to point out his award his hotel had won!  That ANGERED me because he wouldn't let me TALK, when I was merely trying to alert him to the situation.  He then went on to talk over me about how he had never heard of that, in all his years at Super 8.  I told him that may very well be, but that I was now bringing him a Ziploc bag, with a dead bedbug in it, to show him proof that it is there.

As he saw my discontent to his attitude increasing, all of a sudden, the manager "wasn't in."  He had me write my complaint on a piece of paper, as he started to address me as "honey."  "Honey this, honey that."  This informality did not help the fact that I felt he was handling this situation VERY poorly.  What I find ironic is the manager "wasn't in," yet the sign next to the desk read, "Prakash Patel...Manager on Duty."  He told me his housekeeping would go and look for the bedbugs.  I tried t tell him he probably wouldn't be able to see them, as they come out at the sign of body heat.  I tried to remain calm and tell him I wanted him to know about the bedbugs, because if he has them, travelers can bring them to other hotels, if they don't know they have them from other hotels.  His eyes got wide, as I guess this was an "out" for him, and he started to say it wasn't from his hotel I got them, but from another.  I....was....outraged.  His hotel was the first one I'd stayed at in MONTHS.  I don't get hives from sleeping in my bed, I HIGHLY doubt it's from that.  I calmly and quietly wrote the complaint and silently vowed I would let others know about my stay there.  I didn't make a scene there, as I knew talking to him was like talking to a brick wall.

All I know is....I will NEVER, EVER stay at a Super 8 again and will deter those I speak with from staying at this very one.

Nice large clean rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. Just a few min drive from downtown savannah. Free breakfast if you are up early enough (we were not) The staff let us print and fax 30+ pages for a small fee. All in all a great place for the price.

This is the second time I have returned to this hotel. It is clean, spacious for the price, and comfortable. They have a continental breakfast, but no pool/hot tub/whirlpool. They also have a business center. I will definitely return to this hotel the next time I come to Savannah. It is only a 15 minute drive to downtown.

This is a decent side of the road hotel.  It is clear they take pride in their property.  We stayed here one night before checking into a boutique hotel in historic Savannah.  The pillows were flat and the towels were small and thin, but it was what I expected so I was fine.  My one true negative would be the furniture in the suite portion of the king room.  Not only does it feel like Styrofoam, it is also unclean.  All in all it was a decent place to lay our heads for one night.

Caroline and Hayley provided great service, she was chipper and adorable in her beanie. The place is quaint but the tables are far enough apart to have ur privacy somehow. After our delicious meal, we had tequila shots since we were vacationing in Savannah. The quessadilla was so delicious and came with a little salad - yum! Definitely recommend this place for any body. Our friend got the shrimp salad with cilantro & lime dressing. Most of us thought it was delicious but it came with shredded chicken which she doesn't like and they removed it without us asking. Great place with great cuatomer service. Check it out! :)

TERRIBLE location - Just off the motorway, next to a ton of fast food chains and about 15-20min drive from downtown Savannah. Total noob mistake on our behalf as this seems to be the case with Super 8's across the country.

On the upside it was clean, incredibly cheap and had free parking but for me it's all about location and atmosphere and this place lacked severely in both categories.

If you are looking for a place to rest your head, with zero personality and don't mind being a sober sally (cabs are hard to come by in Savannah) this place might work, otherwise check out some of the cool B&B's they have in town.

I returned to this hotel for a 2nd time (this time knowingly) and it's still a decent option for anyone needing to stop for a cheap night. It's not fancy, it's not impeccable, but it is solidly in the realm of Good Enough, especially considering i paid $66 for one night (and that's including taxes and fees) and got free breakfast. I wouldn't stay here if I wanted to experience Savannah... I'd want to stay closer in. But for a stopover in the middle of a long road trip? Sure.

This particular motel is located on the south side of Savannah. Not too long a trip to the area malls and the college, but if you want to be close to downtown, it might not be the best location.

I checked in this room on a Thursday. Check in was quick and easy. I stayed in a king bed room, which was clean and spacious. Internet is fast and reliable. The hotel is close to several chain restaurants, which is nice. While they have a free breakfast, there is not much to choose from. A nice quiet stay overall.
