Whenever I get deployed, I pray I stay at a Marriott. Good breakfast, nice lil happy hours and the service is always good. I stayed at a Candlewood in Fort Worth TX about 2yrs ago and checked out that morning. That should give you an ideal of what it was like. So when I got deployed to go to Kentucky and saw the hotel I was going to be staying at I was a little pissed. But Kentucky has changed my outview of Candlewood Suites. It's really nice here. Clean, friendly staff and FREE LAUNDRY! lol. Yea that's real cool when you're staying in a hotel for over (3) weeks! The reason why I didn't give this place more stars is becuz my a/c went out and it took them about a week to fix it and they do not have breakfast in the morning which is a plus for folks like me who would like something to grab on the way out the door when time is so limited. But other than that...I would stay here again.

Nice place well run by nice people.  Very convenient to airport and highway, but nice and quiet as well.  I don't recall one jet flying overhead in five weeks.  There's a gazebo on the lawn with a gas grill, tables and chairs, horseshoe pits, a basketball rim, fitness center, laundry, and convenience cupboard.  They even have a nice loaner library of movies.  It's a nice little home when you can't be home.  If there is one downside it's that there's not much in the immediate walking neighborhood, but the Zoo and a really nice public park are a five minute drive away.

I stayed at the Candlewood on my way home to Atlanta from Wisconsin last week.  Since I travel with my dog, I was happy to see they were pet friendly and only charged me a $25 pet fee!  My dog had gotten hurt on vacation and was unable to walk stairs; so the girl who checked me in put me in a suite on the 1st floor right next to the door so it was very convenient for us!  I'm a platinum Priority Club member and I was greeted and welcomed as a loyal guest (that rarely happens at hotels!)  The suite was large, very clean and the bed was super comfortable!  I love they have a full kitchen, which is great since I can keep my dog's food refrigerated while we are on the road.  It was a great quiet location; when my GPS took me down a small road in an industrial park/residential area it didn't look like a place you'd have a hotel, I thought I had plugged in the wrong address, and sure enough, I came over the hill and there was the hotel!  Added bonus, it's right next door is the Col. Sanders Museum!  Go check out the history of the fried chicken!   Super convenient to the interstate, I'll definitely be back!

I just thought of something else that makes this hotel great. There is a snack shack that is varied with all kinds of delicious and useful items. My favorite part about this is there is a pay drop box to which you put your dollar bills or loose change into on the honor system.. I find this to be awesome....

First of all, this is nowhere near the airport.

Now that we're past that, this place was fine. Nothing special. Decently clean, decent bed. Full kitchenette in there, so if you had things to refrigerate (like I did), that was a nice little amenity.

My biggest complaint is that this place was hard to find and convenient to nothing. I used to live in Louisville, and was surprised at how far away this thing was from everything I knew. I didn't even know that the road it's on existed. But that's a small price to pay. It kept me out of the cold.

Great value for the money.  Staff is super friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable.  Pet friendly which is a must for us however there is a non-refundable one time $75 pet fee.  We are working a two month contract for UPS at the airport and this place is only about 3 miles away.  Self serve Laundry is FREE.  That is rare. Wifi is free also.  Bed, bedding and pillows are all comfortable and there is a recliner in the room.  They supply nearly everything you could need, even free coffee, dish soap and dishwasher soap. Full size refrigerator with an ice maker. two burner cooktop, over the stove full size microwave, garbage disposal and dishwasher.  They also have a large cabinet filled with appliances you can check out for free like crock pots and George Forman grills as well as games.  There is a little store in the lobby with lots of choices for frozen meals and fresh foods also.  Very glad we chose this hotel.  Do wish they had a pool.

Clean rooms. Friendly service.  Late night check-in is a bit different.  They place your room key in a lock box with your first name on the box. The instructions for the code is on the table. It is a $10 can ride from the airport.

This was the first time I've stayed at a Candlewood Suites, and I loved it!  They really do make you feel like you're at home.  The suites are spacious and very clean, and the full kitchen is nice to have.  The front desk clerk was extremely friendly and made sure I had everything I needed.  I also loved the Candlewood Cupboard.  They had all sorts of food, drinks, and any other items I may have needed during my stay.

The location of this hotel is ideal.  It's in a quiet area, less than 5 minutes from Louisville Airport.
