Have stayed here twice for business.  Clean rooms in downtown Louisville.  Parking garage connected to the hotel.  Friendly staff.  Breakfast daily.  Bar inside hotel.  Lots of great restaurants close by.  Especially check out Patrick O'Shea's, Bistro 301 or Vincenzo's

This was our second stay at this hotel.  The first time was good so we decided to stay again and we're really glad we did.  It's a clean hotel and a good location. The only downside is that the bed was uncomfortable but everything else was really good, especially the service from the staff.  Carol at the front desk was friendly, efficient and helpful.  The hotel shuttle drove us to and from our event downtown and on the way back Tyra was our driver.  It was brutally hot that evening and she had the A/C cranked up in the van.  She was also really friendly and we enjoyed the short ride back to the hotel.  We would stay here again.

This Courtyard by Marriott is in a great location in DT Louisville. It is very easy to park in their garage and just walk to restaurants. There are many great dining establishments within a 8 block radius. Several are only one block away from the hotel.

The staff is friendly and the place is very clean. I have also found some reasonable rates around $120.

The hotel is across the street from the new "YUM" Center, home of the Louisville Cardinals. There is a lot of activity in the area before and after games.

I hate to give a review to an established chain, but I just have to. The staff at the Courtyard Louisville Downtown were so filled with hospitality, I couldn't resist.

The Courtyard brand generally offers comfy, clean, spacious rooms and good shampoo and fresh bedding, free internet, pool, gym, and decent cable channels most of the time. If you get a renovated one, you are in luck.

But what made this trip special was the attention and patience given to our huge party (our very large family gathered for a wedding). The staff was so attentive, genuinely warm, joyful, accommodating, and made us feel like we were at home. Maybe it's just Southern hospitality, but I think it's those great personalities that took this experience over the top. Thank you Ladies!

Nicely done, Courtyard. Can't say you're my favorite of the hotel chains, but you've never done my family wrong.

Concierge was polite, but not terribly helpful. I had asked about smoking laws and the gentleman looked at me and said, "This is Kentucky." Why, yes it is! I'm thrilled you know what state I'm in. But I'm obviously NOT from Kentucky if I ask you what the smoking laws are here. Last *I* checked, Kentucky was bourbon and tobacco country. Does this mean I can smoke in a bar? Does this mean I have to be 20-50ft from the door? What does that mean beyond the fact that I'm stuck in this g-d-forsaken state for 72 hours for my grandfather's funeral?!

Anyways. The rooms were very clean, extra towels/pillows came promptly. The hair dryer was questionable, but I should have known to bring my own. Not really sure what the breakfast situation was like as I was there for only a night (lack of proper sleep, proper meals, and a new environment makes for a very sick Jennifer), but there was espresso when I needed it and the staff was incredibly polite in the bar/breakfast area.

Oh. And free wi-fi. Thank you, Courtyard. Seriously. Thank you.

In town for business, at the convention center, and the Courtyard by Marriott is in a perfect location.  Right downtown, only a block away.  Will be staying here the entire week, and update after my trip is done.

Thus far, I am not disappointed, at all.  The staff have been very friendly and helpful.  Offering great suggestions for dinner locations and things to do.

The room is very nice, well kept, and service has been good, thus far.  Amenities are pretty typical for the Courtyard brand...nice room, fresh decor, really suited for the business traveler.  Coffee and free wi-fi but, no fridge or microwave.  The bed is VERY comfortable and that more than makes up for lack of a mini fridge...IMHO.

Only complaint so far is noise.  But, that is not the hotels fault.  There is road construction outside and it is really noisy, can hear it in the room, woke me up at 4 a.m. this morning.  I do hear other noise, large trucks but, it is pretty quiet and muffled, not enough to keep me from sleeping.

They have a sort of strange little morning breakfast bistro stand adjacent to the lobby...serving "starbucks" but, it's fake....as in, real coffee but, auto machine espresso...it'll do in a pinch but, for true espresso fans....meh....

Updated Courtyard in the heart of downtown L'ville!  Easy walk to restaurants, bars, 4th Street Live.  Rooms are updated to the newer Courtyard standards.  There is a parking garage here.  Caddy corner form the hotel are a few bars that are excellent, away from the touristy 4th Street Live.  Good spot to stay in L'ville if on a budget.

I stayed here weekly for business over a nine month period. The staff is absolutely phenomenal, always helpful and knew our names after just two stays. The rooms are clean and a comfortable size. I see a lot of people saying that the rooms are just "ok". If you want superb spend the $300+/night and stay at the Marriott down the street, but don't knock the mid tier hotels down a size for being exactly what they are.... Mid tier. You get a good clean room with friendly staff in a great location for a fantastic price here :)

When I booked, this hotel and the full-service Marriott a block and a half away were exactly the same price, but I chose the Courtyard due to its slightly superior reviews and its location, which was a tad closer to where I needed to be during the day.

I wouldn't do it again. I had the occasion to visit the full-service hotel, and the difference is far greater than you might glean from reviews. And as a Marriott Gold member, you get free breakfast and easy late checkout at the full-service hotel but no breakfast and a bit of a hassle for a late checkout at the Courtyard.

But the Courtyard does have a great location, a free airport shuttle, and an especially strong staff. They're all-purpose players who are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They'd make this hotel worthy of a solid rating, except that...

The housekeeping staff needs to turn down the amount or strength of the cleaning chemicals. The hallways, at least on the fifth floor, just reek of the stuff. Unpleasant, and it makes you wonder what it so awful that it takes industrial strength solvents to cover up. Not the best sleep due to walls that don't insulate from either loud conversations in other rooms or traffic and other assorted noise from the street. Because downtown isn't terribly busy after midnight, the street noise is too intermittent for your auditory system to adapt to. So the fifth floor, at least, isn't a great choice for a light sleeper.

The hotel is just average at best.  The lobby is pretty nice but the rooms are dated a bit.

I got upgraded to a Junior Suite and it was bigger but still not super nice.

I had a traincation (convention) at the Convention center and I would much rather have stayed at the Hyatt or Marriott looking back because they are connected by sky bridges and it was 28 degrees.  Lesson learned.

Lastly, I must say the staff was phenomenal.  Not enough to give it a 4-star rating but they were extremely friendly the entire time.

Went here while I was walking downtown aimlessly looking for my car that I had no idea what parking garage I had parked in. It had to be mid 40s. Was trying to find a hotel to where I could find a business center to find the PARC number. The staff of this hotel kept me waiting in the cold and kept asking repeatedly if I was a guest. I told them "NO I AM NOT A GUEST, I JUST NEED TO USE YOUR BUSINESS CENTER". They sent me away.

Not sure if they thought I was a robber or something. After doing my brand ambassador event, I was dressed with a black jacket and grey pants. Still, when there is a guy on the street, looking to use your business center, have the courtesy to let him in and find out options. It was like 2 a.m. in the morning!

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel.  It's been a year since I stayed here last and I had forgotten about the one problem I had with the rooms.  Others have mentioned this issue too.  They use excessive chemicals in the rooms.  The first time I stayed I had them switch my room but had the same, strong chemical odor.  I dealt with it because other things in the hotel made up for it which I'll mention in a bit.  This trip, same issue.  I called from the first room I was given and requested another room.  They turned up with a key and a bottle of air freshener.  I told them to step away from the bottle.  The second room had the same odor.  I don't think it's the room cleaner chemicals, I think that there is another odor that they are covering up with excessive air fresher.  There's a moldy, musty smell underneath the chemical smell.  My guess is that they have "sick building syndrome" since the windows are sealed.

Now for the good points.  Excellent staff.  Easy parking with a room key swipe.  Great location across from the YUM Center.  Nice Bistro for a quick breakfast, the service there was great as well.  They have a little General Store type closet next to the front desk which is open 24 hours and is great for me since I get back at crazy times and sometimes would like a little something.  Beds are comfortable but the pillows need work, hard as rocks.

Overall I think that this will be the last time I stay here.  It's a shame about the smell because otherwise I'd be giving it 4-5 stars because of the staff.

Exactly what I expect from a Courtyard. I appreciate the consistent service no matter where business takes me.
