I'm being put up here by my organization; I'd never come to this hotel on my own. Staff (to me) are friendly enough, facilities run down. The first night I went to check in (we had booked a block of rooms), I was told they had none left. Five minutes later, they suddenly had a room. At 10pm, another guest enters the room saying, oh, I thought this was still my room. Yikes!
The location is right off the highway, which isn't a bad thing, except that when you try to leave you're basically driving onto an off ramp--very dangerous. On the plus side, it's right near the U of L, easy to get to other places.

Age has not treated this facility well. Noise is also a problem with all-exterior access and the large windows facing the parking lot. However, it is conveniently located and cheap.
The staff are friendly and willing to take the extra step to make your stay as painless as possible.

For a hotel as cheap as this place- it deserves 5 stars... It's not the Hyatt, but it's clean, I feel safe and it's far from sketchy. I booked my room over the phone and got a room for 1 person, with a king bed for $62/night plus a $25 fee for my cat (but you could totally get away with lying). It's nice here! There's a bed and everything! (It's nowhere close to anywhere at all, but if you want to drive, it's like 5 minutes from "downtown".

Terrifying. Dirty. Falling apart. Pretty sure this is a hooker hotel...for lack of a better description. During a cross country road trip, Louisville was our next stop, and we wanted to stay somewhere somewhat close to the Jim Beam distillery. We stopped here and booked a room. From the looks of the lobby, it was very outdated, but it looked clean, and the front desk clerk was friendly. We were offered a smoking room, and as a non-smoker I expected it to be a little off putting, but I can usually get over the smoke smell. So we took it, and were told we were in the building located beside the carport. ooook. So we drive around and park the car, grab our bags and head to the elevator. The parking lot and the balcony walkway around the hotel were dimly lit. We get into the elevator which is a hodgepodge of 70's orange and yellow. It was filthy and looked like it was falling apart. Walking to our room, you can see holes and crumbling parts of the ceiling in the walkway. We get to our room and it smelled worse than an old man bar that has been smoked in for 50 years. It even bothered my fiance who is a long time smoker. We took a quick once around the room, and after seeing lots of seedy characters on the balcony and in the parking lot, I decided that I could drive to the next town to sleep somewhere else...and not be killed in a creepy, dilapidated old hotel. Back to the front desk clerk, she was nice enough to refund our money without question. I am sure it wasn't the first time.

The answer is no, I give it two stars because I was able to stay there one night and the breakfast was pretty good. 1st night stayed in a single, when I asked for a double. Got to the new Dirty double bed room and tried to stay optimistic. Not all rooms have mini fridge, had to request fridge be moved from last room. Heat either works on HELL or Tundra. Bath tub was filthy. Sink flooded after 1 use. Lamp had no bulb. Room phone didn't work, had to call off of my cell to request a new phone. Dingy sheets, turned off-white. Maintenance/ housekeeping is not 24 hours. Toilet flooded, no one to bring plunger... Had to go get it from the desk and plunge myself. Finally, decided to go to bed after experiencing hell on earth... AND BED BUGS. Yes, bed bugs. Beg bugs. Called the desk attendant, they said for me to get a refund we had to find the bug. We capture the bug in a cup and bring it down. Two other parties are down there with bed bugs captured in cups at 4am. They Agreed to give me money back from 1st night stayed and all nights booked. Charges still haven't been reversed off of my card and this took place January 21,2015.

Terrible experience. I arrived shortly after my roommates, and apparently there were already problems with the first room they were given. Then they were "upgraded" to the room in which I stayed.
It was very run down, to say the least. The furniture was covered in stains. There were broken outlets. There was no fridge or microwave, we had to request those. The phone was broken, we had to request another one. The sink was clogged and when we called the front desk we were told we had to wait for maintenance to come in the morning.
And it only gets better. I slept ON TOP of all the blankets and sheets while my roommate bravely slept in them. I woke up to an itchy arm and when I went to the bathroom I had a welt. And then lo and behold...... I see a BED BUG on the collar of my shirt.
We immediately booked another hotel and left asap. There was only one person on shift, he was very friendly and polite but there was only so much he could do. We had to bring the bug down in a cup and he could only refund us for half the stay. The following morning, the manager left a message informing us that we were refunded all of our money. Needless to say, we will NEVER stay there again.

I moved to Louisville a month ago and have been staying in a couple hotels while I apartment hunt. I finally have an apartment that I am moving into in 2 days so it is time I review this hotel.
My first week I stayed at a Value Place hotel. That hotel was positively horrible. Bed bugs, no comfort at all.
I decided to change hotels after that week and saw the Days Inn off Arthur St which was only a few miles from work. There are some very bad reviews for this hotel and I can sort of see their viewpoint but here is my personal viewpoint.
The hotel is located right off I-65, you can definitely hear some noise if a very loud truck goes by or car alarms are going off. You hear anything right outside your door/window. This being said there was a review about constantly hearing trucks braking on the interstate, this I didn't seem to hear at all. Once I fell asleep I wasn't jarred awake by noises.
The prices here are very reasonable. It's around $70/night unless you're staying for at least a week, in which case it's around $40 a night. You don't get a refrigerator or a microwave but I made do in the 3 weeks I was here. There is a microwave in the dining area of the lobby that I'm sure you could use if you had to.
The front desk staff is very friendly and will work with you on pretty much anything. I've had 2 different housekeepers during my stay. Kayla I thought did an excellent job. On the weekends she'd knock on the door and when I didn't answer because I was too lazy to get out of bed she'd just call and see if I needed any towels or cleaning. I would be able to tell right away when she cleaned my room that day because it was impeccable.
I had some people tell me about security problems at the hotel. During my 3 weeks I have had no problems in this area. I have a widescreen TV in my room that I own and also keep a very nice bicycle in there that have never been touched during my stay by anyone. I also have not had any problems with my people messing with my car. There are many cameras in the parking lot so if there is a security issue, you should have no problem getting footage but I don't really see a problem with this.
Overall I rated this 4 stars because I would gladly stay here again. It's hard not having a refrigerator or microwave for 3 weeks but for the price and location it was well worth it.
