Terrible place. It was really creepy, dirty and smelly in this place. We stayed here while attending the Derby and let's just say that if I didn't show up as intoxicated as I did I may not have actually stayed the night. There were really strange/scary stains on the walls and doors including one that appeared to be a blood stain on the back of a door.
Also while there I saw 3 different rooms and I would say that each room had its own bad unique smeel along with the lobby and the elevator as well.

I've stayed at Motel 6 many times and this one is by far the worst.
This place is in serious need of renovation. It's probably a hotel that was bought by Accure because it doesn't look like any other Motel 6 I've seen.
The flat screen HDTV, cable, phone and A/C-heater all work great.
Stuffy air and a very not-vacuumed carpet didn't help.
The room was a disaster. The door was loose and wouldn't feel shut unless it was dead-bolted.
The A/C unit didn't fit its wall space properly and there was plaster falling apart around the bottom of it.
The bathroom the worst. Veneer was peeling off the door, the fan is loud and the annoying flourescent light flickers its way on. The toilet seat is loose but the toilet works. There's a hole that worked through where the bathtub drain is.
Try the Red Roof Inn instead....
Update: After complaining to Motel 6, they sent me a letter and a certificate for a free night at any Motel 6 if used within a year.

Probably the worst hotel ever. Unfortunately we prepaid for 3 nights. It was so disgusting that we left early. We witnessed fights in the parking lot and broken down cars. The lobby is always full of people who seem like they sleep in there. The lobby has the overwhelming smell of pot. The floors and bathroom were disgusting. The toilet was not bolted to the floor and tipped up when we sat down. All night and day we listened to people arguing in other rooms, the hallway and parking lot. Deserves zero stars. Check out the pics I posted.

This place has been purchased, and is undergoing a rehab. The pricing seems to be different each time we stay, but it has never been over $46, even with a kitchen.
If you are looking for a very inexpensive option, this is the place for you. The rooms are clean, if not always in the best state of repair, and the staff is friendly and outgoing without being overly familiar. It's an quirky environment, but I've grown very comfortable here over several stays. Again, there are no frills, and you may have to deal with the occasional carpet stain, but I find the place in better cosmetic shape than other local hotels costing twice the amount.
As long as I continue to make regular visits to Louisville, and price is a concern (following closely behind bed bugs, safety, and overall cleanliness) I'm comfortable making this Motel 6 my regular choice.
