My wife and I had to make a last-minute trip to Louisville. We needed a hotel that was centrally located, had easy access to the freeways and was near the fairgrounds. After searching online, we found the Ramada. I was a bit skeptical due to prior negative experiences with Ramadas in other states.
From the outside, it's not amazing, but the interior more than makes up for the outside. The lobby had a nice open feel to it and the elevator was very close to the entrance which made it easy for us to bring in our bags to take straight into our room. As we walked to our room, it became apparent that a lot of time had been spent on renovations and upgrades - funky carpeting and some cool lamps. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. This stay definitely made up for previous experiences.
The only "con" was due to spotty wifi access. An employee behind the desk was rather uncertain as to how to find a solution. She passed me the direct number to their ISP help desk and suggested that I just call them directly. I do understand the fact that she would have been unable to describe my specific issue with accessing the internet, however, I don't believe that it is good customer service to have a guest call the help desk. It would have been better customer service for her to have called first and then checked back with me to see if the situation was resolved.
All-in-all, we were very pleased with our stay here. It is a nice hotel with a great location and an affordable price tag. We didn't use the indoor pool or the workout room, but it was nice to know that the option was there if we so desired.

"Acceptable" is an ideal word to use about this place. Walking distance location to Freedom Hall is prime. 5 minutes driving to the airport, less than 10 downtown.
Free continental breakfast had variety, although I usually like to see oatmeal and more fresh fruit, omnivores raved over the waffle machine.
We checked in at about 1:30pm and were given room keys...yet the rooms had yet to be cleaned? Bizarre. A maid came up to us, extremely apologetic, and let us know she would have the room cleaned soon. Not really a major problem, just weird.
Staff was nice and friendly. Rooms were decent, nothing great and nothing bad. If you have business in Louisville and don't require frills, get a good rate and stay here.

The bed had four very lumpy pillows. Two of the lights didn't work. There was rust all over the bathroom. The sink didn't drain. I could hear people running up and down the hallways, as well as those in the floor above me. Servers in the restaurant were very friendly. Easy check-in and check-out.

Moderately priced hotel with an indoor pool. That's about it for my list of positives. There was no continental breakfast during the week, but there was a little barista set up where you could get coffee and cereal. The decor and amenities are very dated, which isn't terrible as long as they're clean. My bed had stained sheets and very lumpy pillows. I got the impression they haven't replaced these things in a while. Housekeeping barely touched the room when they visited after our first night. The comforter on the bed wasn't even all the way on. That's a minor detail, but exemplifies the kind of attention to detail the staff has. On our final night I had to ask the front desk twice for bath towels that eventually came when we're trying to go to bed. Ultimately, we probably got what we paid for. I think I'll try to avoid Ramada in the future.
Side note: While waiting at the front desk to ask for bath towels, I overheard the clerk practically begging the shuttle driver to stay at the airport and wait for a guest who had just called to say they arrived at the airport. Just another example of the staff's quality.

I am extremely satisfied with my interaction with this hotel and their management. I booked a vacation package that included this hotel, and after they messed it up 2 different times (not Ramada, Hotwire), the manager Becky took care of us. She made sure all our needs were met, and I appreciate the hospitality they've shown me and my family. Would do business again, and I recommend this hotel to everyone.
